What ia everybody doing for Thanksgiving? We decided because of my mom's health issues to just have dinner for the people that live in our house. So my brother and sisters families will also stay home and do the same. It's pretty bad here in Pennsylvania with COVID spreading. My nephew is quarantined because he sat next to a kid in class who has COVID and my little niece Lily also had the same experience. They are both feeling well so far thank goodness. We will be doing a food transfer of sorts the day before where we share all of our favourite Thanksgiving foods and send some to each of our houses. Then we will likely zoom on Thanksgiving Day :) Quite different but still grateful that we are all well!

Paula and Karen thanks so much. I know who they will select in the end. And he will be good. But I really just want to know I can pass. And a few other reasons. But thanks so much gals.

Karen jury duty is only interesting depending on the attorneys and the subject matter. Some are very interesting. And others just are sleep worthy. If you get called in you still have to go through the process to see who selected to actually be on the panel and how many alternates they want. Have fun.

Paula I am trying. Nerves of marshmallows. LOL

Shelley, I know you will kill the exam...no question about it. Just remember to take your purple gun in your purple holster with you. And, like Karen and Paula said...you have great super powers and are a MONSTER!!

Waiting to hear from Sara if she wants to walk today. I hope so.

    Hello ladies,

Just catching up with the posts. I’ve been busy with my parents and doctor’s appointments. Also, finding them new specialists in my area. Also making decisions about Thanksgiving. We’ve decided to keep it to our little bubble, us, my niece who’s 4 doors down as well as my bff who’s next door. This was a hard decision because I have a very large family and we always spend the holidays together anywhere from 15-30 people or more with all the grands and greats. But we have to keep each other safe.

The decision became easier to live with after a call from one of my close friends. Her sister, sister’s husband, their mom all tested positive for Covid-19 after visiting Atlanta for their mom’s 85th birthday. Her sister has the worse symptoms, husband nine right now and mom very mild. Kids and grands are also being tested. People want to live their lives as normal but you just can’t. Take this seriously or else it will show you. I’m praying for my friends family but this did make the Thanksgiving decision much easier to live with. Be safe everyone.

In order to cheer my parents up I let my mom start her Christmas decorating, I usually only have a tabletop tree and other small decorations that I’ve collected over the years but mom has her tree and decorations so I said go for it and I’ll help you. We had a fun evening, everything looks so festive and my mom is happy. I ordered pizza and we had it with wine....I know, I know. But sometimes you have to do what makes everyone feel better. :D

Sorry for the length of this but it’s better than me heading for the kitchen for my mom’s cashews or calling Paula at 4 am. 😂 Lady you always out a smile on my face.

Shelley - I wish you luck on your promotion test and know you will kill it!

Karen - I hope you luck up on an interesting case. Shelley’s right jury duty is only as interesting as the crime and the attorneys. My one time involved a financial crime, can’t even remember exactly, but I was only chosen I think because of my occupation...budget analyst with IRS. Crazy...

Chris - your miles so inspire me, Maybe it’s time for twice a day walks especially before it gets colder here. Also love the purple gun and holster.

Happy Thanksgiving and be safe with your small circle in your bubble. :)
Going to turn over and try to go back to sleep.

    Ladies,

I have an update on my friend’s sister Lisa. She is now hospitalized and being treated for Covid-19, Pneumonia and Kidney failure (reversal). Please keep her and the family in prayer.

Paula thank you very much. :)

Kathy - Will keep Lisa in my prayers....hoping she continues to improve. COVID is so scary. Hard to tell if you have it given flu and sinus season. My sister (who works in a hospital)....came back negative thank goodness!. Waiting to hear about my niece Lillie still.

Drove my Mom to her sisters today to pick up soup. My Aunt Rene is an excellent soup maker. Nice to see her. Just got home from visiting Bella at her first job...she's only 14, but she is volunteering at our local thrift store once a week and is loving it. She is so excited about her "job." Didn't get to exercise....but over 5K steps running around...

So sad about Lisa's sister, Kathy. Sending good thoughts.

Karen, I hope Bella takes all that excitement about her "job" with her in all future jobs.

We got a long walk this morning!! First day of Sara's week off for Thanksgiving. It will be hard not seeing Ronan for a few days, but I'm pretty sure we'll come up with something. They are doing Thanksgiving w/SIL's mother. We declined the gathering this year. We'll get together with them on Sunday the 29th...Nick's birthday.

Kathy I am taking this seriously also. This Covid19 is so dangerous. And you just never know how it will effect you. I will be thinking of her often. Wish you had a photo for me to give her a face. I am funny that way.

We are also having a small celebration. Just Rocky and I. Really sucks. I made zuchinne bread tonight. Planning on making gift baskets and leaving them on porches of friends and family. At least it is something.

Karen that is great that Bella is working. I hope she is keeping away from others and wearing a neat mask.

Chris glad you declined. Better to keep the gatherings small. We are doing the same.

Sounds like we are all hunkering down this year for Thanksgiving.....keeping our circles small will help.

Looking up leftover turkey recipes as we speak. My grocery store gives you a free one...of course Jim got the biggest one in the store...25 pounds! Trading sides and desserts with my siblings, but everyone is doing a turkey at home. Nothing like the smell of roasted turkey. I brine mine. So delicious.

I wanted to let y’all know that Lisa is doing better this morning. Her sister Delphyne was able to talk to her on FaceTime and said she looked better and her breathing was definitely better. Treatment continues and I let out a huge sigh of relief.

Shelley I totally get it so here is a photo of the sisters. Lisa is on the left and Delphyne on the right. Beautiful sisters inside and out.

This is wonderful news. I love the top Lisa is wearing. So in tune with where she and her sister are in the photo. They are truly fortunate to still have each other. Delphyne has on some special earrings there. <3 While I used to hate FaceTime, I am realizing in times like these it is truly wonderful.

Hopefully Lisa can come home soon and makes a full recovery.

I sliced my thumb yesterday evening using a mandolin. There was a lot of blood and it would not stop. Went to urgent care and the PA treated me and was finally able to slow the bleeding enough to put in 6 sutures and give me a tetanus shot. It’s no longer numb and it’s throbbing this morning. Suffice it to say the mandolin was trashed by my mother! 🤣

    What a weekend!

Kathy, we need a Girl's Thumb Club...you and me! I took off the tip of my left thumb with the paper cutter in Sara's classroom. Lots of blood. So happy there weren't any first graders around. Sara took everything sharp away from me. I'm still a klutz with pointy things. :D

It's been a strange Monday without Ronan and Bean.

Well jury duty was uneventful. They split the prospective jurors into 2 sessions, morning session in afternoon session. I was in the afternoon session and basically was told they picked everybody in the morning session. So, I sort of did my civic duty by showing up am good for the next 2 years :) I actually have never been called at all for jury duty in my 49 years of life. Is that crazy? But at least I did what I was meant to do :) It did give me the opportunity to stop at my favourite sneaker store and get a new pair of Brooks. I wore my last pair out in like 4 months with all this walking I've been doing. I recently went to the podiatrist because my right foot has been bugging me. She gave me some inserts to try to help with my extremely high arches :) hope it helps!
