I did also. Had to try the cookies before taking them to work! :p Not sure if I mentioned. We had found a groomer that Libby Up liked. She cried at the last one. Then poof, she left without telling anyone. Just cleaned out. So Rocky found another gal the next town over. Fingers crossed. We need someone Libby likes. If she does the others will. This place does not Kennel them. Lets them run around and play. Only has a few at a time. Fingers crossed.

Not thrilled but I will get it if I have to in order to travel. Concerned about side effects but I’ve heard the potential side effects from the virus can be very serious. I’ve taken the flu vaccine for the last 10 years and never had any issues.

I think many are concerned because it was rushed but it’s a pandemic and people are dying. I think we have to trust that no shortcuts were taken. I’m going to be positive and because of my underlying issues I will take the vaccine if my doctor recommends it fir me.

Besides Ron is going to travel without me if I don’t get the vaccine. He’s already warned me. :D

We're going to get the vaccine. From what I've read, the side effects, if you get them, last a day. I'm trusting the scientists.

Kathy he will leave you on land while he is sunbathing on the beach. Better roll up that sleeve! And I agree with everything you said. I have grayish teeth from the unknown side affects from medication taken as a child. But I could have gone deaf without them.

Wonderful Chris! I am probably be in one of the first groups here as I am a first responder. I am taking it for my family. I don't want to spread it to them. I am constantly being informed that I was exposed. :#

There are serious side effects to absolutely every drug. But it it's important enough, we take the change. I didn't want to take blood thinners until I had a mini-stroke; then I realized the risk of not taking them was greater than possibility of bumping my head and internally hemorrhaging.

One study on tonight's news showed that of 120 people studied, almost none of the vaccinated people got Covid. But about 2% of the people taking placebos did get it. Two percent of 328 million (US population) is almost 6 million people who will not get it if everyone is vaccinated. (Did I do the math right? It just seems huge...)

Oops, I assumed 100 people in the trial (but on reading it closer, I see that is 100 days); so I don't know the actual percentage. Still, even a small percentage has a huge impact.

Went back and re-watched the news and that chart above is the new Moderna vaccine which is 94.5% effective...

Paula I agree there are risks in everything. Every time I see a new medication being advertised I have to scoff at all the warnings scrolling under the advertisement. One never knows. But vaccinations usually are by far the lesser of the two.

My sister is meant to get the vaccine next week. I know PA doesn't have a lot of vaccines. I'll let you know how she makes out. I'm low in the totem pole to get the shot being in relatively good health....

Shelley, I hope your party was fun and lots of food...bread...cookies...oh, my!

Karen, I hope your sister does well with the shot. We are old grey-hairs, but I don't know where we land on the shot chart. We'll get in line as soon as we know.

    Chris,
I think we're in the 2nd tier; after health professionals and essential workers. My hair isn't grey yet though (thank Clairol!) - did you know we're only a few years older than Billy Blanks (Tae Bo's creator), makes me still feel young. :)

    December ending goal weight: 165

    December 1: 172.7
    December 8: 172.0

    • Dec 10: 171.0
    • Dec 11: 169.6

The weekly readings make my weight look stable at 172; but actually it keeps dipping down into the 160's. One of these days it won't bounce back up into the 170's...

Paula, my weight does that too. Wednesday I was so thrilled to be 146.2 and today ^^^ 147.2. I just want to stay out of the 150's. We'll just keep working at it.

Paula and Chris I know exactly how you feel. Trying to stop the bounce back to the 190s and the up and downs in the high 180s. I keep losing the same 3-5 pounds. Need a strategy for January. I want to lose at least 5 and keep it off to move forward and work on getting back to the 170s.

I promise I’m not whining just trying to get focused and stick with it! 😀

    Kathy,

    I'm relating to what you're saying 100%.

My weight bounced up again today but it still feels like a win because it stayed in the 160's (barely - but like horseshoes and atom bombs, that's good enuf).

Got a good bounce down this morning 144.8 at 7:20 a.m.!! HOWEVER, we celebrated DDD & SIL's 6th wedding anniversary this evening and the fare was NOT calorie conscious at all. I did have two pieces of fruit... :p

Paula I can't believe Billy Blanks is getting up there. Darn!

Chris sounds like you all had a great time.

Kathy I have been looking at YouTube workouts for us. I love the music Richard Simmons uses. But the visual quality is poor. Drives me nuts. I am trying really to get motivated. I need music I understand, with an upbeat tempo and positive lyrics. And fun coaches.

Well I might have to buy a new scale. I love that it said I lost 10 pounds. But I know I didn't! :D

Karen I am going to get really serious here. Getting things set up. Choosing my workouts. Making sure nothing is going to stop me from getting where I am comfortable in my own skin. Even thinking about buying an electric bike. The kind you pedal until you are tired and then it takes over! My daughter will never be able to do a lot. So this would be a way for us to be out together. I am excited!
