Second, we decided to try another meal service and last night's dinner was 652 calories and 54 grams of carbs. 😯😯😯 I need to do a better job of investigating the next week's meals. 😕
-ME TOO Im a recovering vegetarian (15 years) and just signed up for Home Chef to learn how to cook meat better and the calories are very high! Even after I work my other meals around to fit in the calories like switching egg breakfasts to oatmeal breakfasts and being more mindful of drinking in calories I’m still over so I HAVE to work out now to fit those calories in. Very tasty tho and I only get 3 meals a week.
@cozydonuts you hit the little button on the bottom left that says "quote" 😊1 -

I know this is a weight loss group, but I believe mental health and physical health go together (at least I know it does for me)
I had been wanting to get rid of social media for awhile, and after the political chaos in America last week I finally did it. Just half a week without social media, the screen time on my phone was down 86%....5 -

I think that's a great idea!
I've seriously been reworking how I use social media as well. I am opting out of all groups that aren't personally helpful to me, especially politically minded groups. I'm unfollowing friends who are stuck in the mud of politics right now, and I'm going to fill my feed with only updates and encouraging posts, or calls for support, from people I actually know and care about. That's what my original intention was there, and it's turned into this huge time suck and place where I can get riled up and annoyed.
I'm also using a browser add-in that removes things I don't want to see from Facebook, like ads and sponsored posts, and puts them in an order I want.
I feel lighter and freer already, despite the troubles here in the USA.1 -
@annabananamc I like how you said “personally helpful to me”
I was pondering if this counts as social media. But I only look at this as a great group of supportive people helping me better myself and each other. So I think of this differently2 -

@erikNJ and @annabananamc I did a huge clean up this summer and it was very freeing. I was suffering from COVID, protest and election overload. I unfollowers many friends and only kept the sewing, reading and crafting groups where those things were banned. I also deleted the app from my phone so if I wanted to go to FB I had to navigate to it. Just that little step was a huge help.
While I agree that technically this is social media, this place is usually about positivity and lifting people up, not negativity and personal attacks. I found the people on here to be very helpful in reducing my feelings of being isolated from friends and family.3 -

I agree. I got rid of Facebook this week too. So many family issues came about over FB comments this year and it's not helpful anymore. I will miss out on discussions related to my kids' school but I will adjust.2 -

I know Exactly what you facebookers are talking about I deactivated my account a couple years ago. I kept getting a lot of people that maybe I know and things were posted that I don't care about. I didn't see the need to keep it going. Happy New Year everyone and stay safe2

Here's a link to an article on 10 simple but good tips from people who lost weight and kept it off. I hadn't thought of eating at the same time each day. It makes sense--I've heard bedtime consistency can also help sleep.

Today was a major lazy day. I spent most of the day planted in front of a puzzle. I pretty much forgot to eat today. I munched on a few dove chocolate squares with coffee for most of the day, and decided to carrots and onion dip, instead of making anything.
I prepped my lunch for the next few days and am going to try getting a good night's rest tonight. I have a feeling that this work week will be long!

Thanks @cmhubbard92
To end this week, today will be my rest day and my one earned(cheat?) meal of the week.
But I do have all of my food bought for next week and meals planned out starting with Sunday.
Enjoy your weekend everybody!
Thank you for sharing Erik I’m never good at planning out meals. May I ask what you prepped up this week?

We had a roast with potatoes tonight (that will be the least healthy)
Tomorrow will be leftovers and the side will be birdseye pasta made out of zucchini.
Turkey bacon and eggs for two nights.
And for two other nights we will have chicken meatballs with green beans (instead of pasta) in spaghetti sauce4 -

Note- Sundays are usually a problem for me. Today was better then the last, so my positive takeaways with comparison to last Sunday are as follows:
- I was mindful with what I ate today.
- I went to breakfast with my dad and when I was feeling full I put down my fork and asked the waitress to put the rest in a To-go container (I have an emotional connection to overeating so this was very difficult, but I did reason it out with “if I wanted it that badly it will be there for me later”
- I had a plan of action for every opportunity I was presented to overeat today.
1) Hurdle- At breakfast, I knew my dad would ask my why I wasn’t eating the rest of my meal and I just told him I was trying something new and diverted his attention to pictures of the wedding venue where my brothers getting married. That worked!
2) Hurdle- Boredom throughout the day. Got on the treadmill every time I went to the pantry, to a point where I was sick of getting on the treadmill so randomly that I stopped going to the pantry.😬
3) Hurdle- Late night munchies. This is a two part answer that ends with a new-found Hurdle. There was no late night munchies because I went to bed and I so easily overcame that whole ordeal because I wasn’t...see below
4) ...Drinking alcohol! Newfound Hurdle- So looking back at my weight over the years I’m pretty confident that alcohol has been a huge reason why I got as big as I did. My largest binge eating sessions have been started by my foggy mind. I’ve decided to skip the drinks this week because actually I am just really curious if that alone will propel me even further into my weight loss goals and I would like to test the theory.
Here’s to a great Week 2 TBBT!4 -
