I am just mom hanging at with her baby at 5am. No Barre crib today. I did look up when the time changes. I am really going to have to focus on my diet. I know diet is the biggest factor in weight loss, but my morning workouts give me such great energy and motivation to eat well. I am going to try to get a tues/thurs postwork workout in, but I really don't like evening workouts. Hopefully, in a month, her 5am workouts will become 6am.4

Thanks for all those steps. @evangsimmons170 Yes, I have your steps. Thanks.
Last call for the last 2 blanks in my spreadsheet.
@Pearl4686 86 1/31
@kiay131982 1/31
We have 10 Steppers on our team this month. Hurray!
I can't remember who asked, (I think it was @Pearl4686) but your steps are all we need for a run or walk. No addition steps for the exercise as the exercise shows the steps. It's only for exercise that wouldn't show steps accurately vs. calorie burn. Right @jugar?

Running can add a little supplement on top of the steps themselves. Snowshoeing adds 78 steps per minute to the actual steps on the counter, jogging adds 56 per minute, and more as you run faster. So it helps a lot to specify how many minutes are running and at what kind of speed. Submit the total of all the steps and I'll tack on the supplement for the # of minutes spent running. Does that make sense? Other forms of exercise from yoga to HIIT are on the chart I am using so the # of minutes plus an idea of the intensity of the workout help make it easier to know how many to add on.2 -

No problem! I wish you all the best in your new job and look forward to your messages if you can post one every once in a while. Let me know towards the end of the month if you want to be back in regular team for March or stay in support. Keep well!1 -
Good Monday news - @deniners2 will be coming back to our team! She was with us until last October and has decided she cannot get along without us
Another great snowshoeing day here today - I had to go to get a covid test this morning so that they let me into the hospital for surgery Wednesday. I'm not worried - I have not set foot in any building but my own house for the past 2 weeks, and no one has been here to see us either. But it is good to be sure. But this afternoon was sunny and cold, the new snow from the past few days was sparkling, and it felt good to tramp about. Tomorrow will be my last day out there for a little while, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can!
I will add on 40 minutes @56 steps per minute (2,240) to the 3 days you did your 40 minute 5k. That just gets added on top of the total number of steps for the day - so you only need to report your total steps and the # of minutes you were running. Which days were those 3 40-minute runs? Just let me know and I'll put them in. Thanks!2 -

just checking in before I weigh-in tomorrow - I have had a weird night. I finished up work around 6pm, unfortunately I didn't get done one draft that I really wanted out of the way, but I actually need another coworker's help anyways so I couldn't have finished if I wanted. I'm such a list-maker, it just bugs me when I can't cross things off yet haha.
So I log off, and then I learn that a book I have been waiting to release (officially comes out next Tues) had the first 6 chapters released as a preview/teaser, but only in another language - italian. Which I do actually kind of speak, but I'm rusty, so I, being insane, started translating with google so I could read the chapters ASAP! And then I found that someone had actually done a translation because they are a saint, and I finished reading there. All this to say, I was so engrossed and also happy that I have retained SOME italian recognition, that it is somehow now 10:30pm and I never had dinner and don't feel hungry.
Bizarre. Very, very rarely since I started calorie counting in 2014, have I actually skipped a meal. But I don't want to eat now, when it's so late, because it will inevitably upset my sleep? So I am going to do like 20 min of dance cardio to tire myself out and go to bed. I also think it is super nice that I am taking a vacation from work next week and that means I can just take the day the whole book comes out to read it! (Since of course, with 6 chapters done, I am hooked).
I also ran another mile today, so the February mileage count stands at 9 out of 22! Woo!
Good night & see ya tomorrow.4 -
Happy Monday!
I had a pretty good day. I was able to catch up on my paperwork that I have been putting off! I'm a really good procrastinator 🤭 Food was really good and I even got in a 45 minute workout after I got the kids to bed.
I have been slowly adding more calories but I have not been very consistent over the past two weeks. I am focusing on logging and working out this week. I have gained a little which is expected. I'm a little bummed that I don't have a solid food log to look over to help me make decisions going forward. Oh well, moving forward.
I tried kombucha tonight for the first time. I bought a couple different brands. I was really interested in the prebiotic and B vitamins they contain. Glad I got a few different ones. The first one was so disgusting! Like drinking fermented pickle juice. So bad🤢🥴 The second one was great! I will try more flavors from that brand. Have a great night 🌙4 -

Steps 08/02/21 2967 but you can easily double that as I didn't wear my stepcounter most of the day and normally get to around 8000 just living.
Also did a 30 minutes legs and abs workout.

Happy Tuesday all.
I went for a solo run last night; was good to get out after a day on a boring training course and I wanted to get a run in, in case the weather worsened. Thankfully my lungs seemed to be operating at full capacity; I inhaled too much sanding dust on Saturday (I was wearing a mask, but took it off in between tops and there was clearly dust in the air) and my airway/lungs seemed to get inflamed. On Saturday I couldn't catch my breath at all then Sunday I got breathless very easily, but last night I was fine. It wasn't the fastest run as it was a little icy in places.
Tonight I need to go shopping. The filler on the desks isn't taking the varnish well (despite that being a marketing point on the tin...) so I'm going to buy some acrylics, and some clear varnish so I can blend it in. Luckily, a nearby home/DIY store is still open and they have a decent size craft section.
I have a new set of winter running gear arriving today, well top and bottoms, as I sometimes struggle to get the rest washed and dried between runs. Probably going to be the highlight of my week. The top and leggings were on sale but still £90 for the two - I have a thing for Under Armour and it can get pricey quickly.4 -
I worked out after work yesterday. I feel like I did the best I can, but I had to lower my weights on a few workouts due to fatigue. Better then nothing. Tonight, if it isn't windy, I will take the baby for a jog/walk. I don't want to leave the kids late at daycare every night. (I was there by 5:15, so it wasn't even late) but I will try to do it 2 times a week.3

Oh I'm a happy camper!6 -
@Kali225 what book is it? I'm always looking for new authors to read. Congrats on the Italian!
@jugar you must be getting so excited for your surgery!! You'll be riding horses again this spring.
I haven't been eating well since the weekend so the scale will probably show it tomorrow. Hoping to get back on track a bit today with exercise as well.
We've had a few dustings of snow but not really enough accumulation for snowmobiling, just enough for endless shovelling of the skating rink!
I almost hit the Done button!!4 -
@PlaneMonkey it's from a series called "A Court of Thorns & Roses" by S. J. Maas - but to be truly honest, I don't recommend them hahaha; it's very trope-y writing with not a ton of skill or finesse. They are marketed as "young adult" fiction, but there are also some >ahem< adult scenes so. It's kind of a mess, I just feel like I have to see it to the end of this book hahahaha. But! If you like fiction, I always recommend The Looking Glass Wars (trilogy) by Frank Beddor. It's a twist on Alice in Wonderland and I really enjoyed it when I was younger and when I re-read it when I was older. (And for non-fiction, Bad Blood by John Carreyrou about the Silicon Valley Theranos scandal was one of my favorite reads of 2019. So crazy!)
Good catch on the dreaded Done button too.
it has just started to snow! and I need my walk! Ach.4 -
Happy Tuesday!
Only one more dodo before surgery! You have to live in Québec to get that one - I'm sure @PlaneMonkey knows what I mean Dodo is sleep, especially if you're talking to young children - one dodo is one night's sleep, to "go dodo" is to go to sleep. It's just a baby talk version of dormir (french for sleep), but everyone uses it in english too. In any case, I'm ready! I just found out I'll be able to walk around and even use the stairs, so I'm less worried about having to be completely off my feet. No weight lifting though! I'm sure sitting will be torture for a bit, but that is nothing new. And YES I will be riding the beautiful Montana (the lead horse in my profile pic) this spring for sure His registered name is My Exquisite Heart, and few horses have ever matched their name better. He is a stallion, but such a gentleman. Then I'll also be able to ride my daughter's new horse when I go out to Alberta to see her this summer, covid willing.
The beautiful weigh-ins continue. I am still blown away that 79.2% of this team was in the green last week. And this week is shaping up to be as good. Keep it coming! Green all the way! You are all fabulous.
@Kali225
I get you on the under armour gear - my fave workout clothes and shoes are from them. Pricey but they last a long time. Enjoy the workouts!
@DD265
What a crazy day with a reading black hole in Italian, an unfinished document, a skipped meal. Sounds like a good book. Skipping a meal from time to time is a great idea - if you weren't hungry for it and could just forget, skipping it surely will do no harm at all.
Keep your fingers off the dreaded Done button, and have a great day!5 -
hi! Struggling a bit to keep from crazy eating...if I could just retrain my brain to go work on a quilting block every time I start to go to the fridge...I'd get my WIP done! No idea what the weigh in will show on Thurs.
@jugar have a good day tomorrow - the day has finally come to get rid of that bump!3 -
Feb 8, steps 4,926 plus 25 minutes snow shoveling4
