WaistAways - February 2021 Team Chat

So new job is going well, its a mess i can see why they wanted someone with my type of experience. My team was working with no experience in accounting and just doing what they thought was best, or what the cpa told them to do, but they have no idea how to job cost, or what burden is... So I have a big job in front of me...
My food and exercise have been good, even though I am giving myself a little bit of leeway this week, it turns out I haven't really needed it.
Hopefully I'll be more involved next week, once i get used to this schedule!

What a wonderful batch of fluffy snow. Ah. Got out for a walk today through the hilly part of the cemetery. My various body parts were whinging but all in all, I enjoyed being in the beautiful air. Monica and I started preparing the back yard for a small bon fire next Tuesday. We're creating snow-couches/chairs which I'll spritz with water tomorrow so they can get denser as we add to them. Got to support us as we roast all beef hotdogs at 20 degrees F.
I feel good that I ate only 1.5 Hobnobs today. I made a big multi-vegetable stew, chicken tenders (all homemade), and egg noodles to have on the side (as I did) or, in the stew. I decided the broth was thick enough and didn't need noodles mixed in.
Have a fabulous rest of the week.
Hang in there everyone. xoxo5 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy
Sounds like they really need you at your new job, and that your team needs some serious training! I'll bet you'll straighten them up in no time.
I got a new piece to work on today for the recording that will hopefully happen some time when we can travel and play music together again. It is the best of the pieces that the composer wants recorded - I'm really glad he added it to the list. But the phone didn't ring, so I did not go outside on the snowshoes the way I wanted to! Tomorrow I'll just go out anyhow. They can leave a message. Hmmph.
So some weigh-ins are still due for today -

Thanks!4 -
What great losses, exercise, and great news on the new job, Vikki. They sure are lucky to have you. Straighten them out and don’t forget to give yourself a sticker.
I started the day with 13 minutes of Pilates Barre with Weights. That may be short, but those weights got me into a little cardio. And that makes you burn way more calories. My upper body is so weak. I’m thinking my arms are going to be sore tomorrow. Finished off my evening with some more ball bouncing. It’s really cool to see how steady I am on it compared to when I first started. I logged my food which included cupcakes I made. Oof. Still managed too eek under my calorie limit.
@evelynladams527 Your backyard seating sounds so cool. How fun! You’ll have to post a photo of it.
@jugar Vera (Matthews5) has reached out to me and wants to rejoin Waistaways. Can we get her back on our team for February? She said she had rejoined already.
Hope that call comes early tomorrow, Liselyn.5 -
Tuesday walked for 30 minutes mid level and steps at 6335
Wednesday walked for 30 minutes with a weighted vest mid-high intensity and steps at 8578
This weighted vest is a cool add on if your interested in a challenge when walking. My friend suggested I try it and it did serve as a challenge to get my heartbeat up and burn more calories. My work schedule has been demanding these last two weeks, so my usual workouts have been hard to get in.
Have a great night!5 -

Hi all! I'm back. It's been an action packed couple of months. I'll fill you in on a separate post.
@jugar please count me in for this month's weight loss challenge. My starting weight is 358.6. I'll keep Friday as my weigh in day.
@micki48 please count me in for the step challenge this month.
Thanks everyone. Stay safe and healthy.4 -

Yesterday was pretty manic, but I managed to stick within calorie goals. I went for an hours dog walk with my daughter which was lovely, and then in the evening my husband and I had a go at a Youtube pilates class. I think I could actually really like pilates, hadn't tried it before! Does anyone have any recommendations for YouTube pilates to follow??4 -
Hello!
Not a lot going on with me. I'm still easing into working out and logging after being under the weather. I've done a couple of low key ballet workouts with my daughter. Honestly they have been more laughing and goofing off than working out. I'm pretty much back to eating normal but need to start formally logging everything again.
I just got my new dress today 😍 It was from the new valentines collection and I love it to pieces! Its got flowers on it and more ruffles than any grown woman really needs! It really lifts the spirits.
@jugar So excited for your surgery. I remember being super excited to get my gallbladder out. I hope the hospital calls soon. If you want me to call and hassle them for you I will 😉
@mbakhtiaruz Hang in there! This is a difficult time for lots of people. Self care is definitely in order for you! ❤ Be kind to yourself. You got this.
@micki48 Nice work getting your workouts in! That has to be a great feeling.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Glad you have made it through the first few days and are getting a feel for things. Whip them into shape!
@DD265 The soggy run sounds intense 😳 Glad you're able to do some indoor workouts with your rebounder!3 -
@conleywoods @PlaneMonkey @Steph1498 @micki48 @Terytha @jugar Thank you all for the kind words and support I feel a little bit better today and started logging food again. it is good that there is this group that when I feel down and I am off track I can share, in other groups and real-world I usually am too shy to share my status with friends.6

@jugar I was apologizing for not checking in and reading everyone's posts. Work and home have been a lot these past few weeks. I am very proud of my weigh loss. I worked hard for that loss!
The baby is back to 5 am wakeups, which makes working out challenging. My workout space is tight and I can't have her in there with me. Since I get up 5am with her, I don't have the energy for an evening workout. This morning, I made it work by doing Barre and using her crib rail as my bar. It worked.7 -
@KellyBgetsfit You are a problem-solver! great use of the crib.2

A few of us here do a Pilates program called Balanced Life with Robin Long. I subscribe, which offers lots of workouts, recipe ideas, monthly mission, and community. But, you can find many of her workouts on Youtube for free. She is really wonderful. From time to time, she has free week long ish programs. We can invite you if you like her. It really works even if you only do a short routine.1 -

@KellyBgetsfit You are an amazing woman and definitely the innovator for workouts. Hoping the little one gets off the 5am wake up soon for your sake.
@conleywoods Workouts with laughter and daughters are the BEST kinds of workouts. Please post a photo of you in your flowers and ruffles. Flowers ALWAYS make me smile.
Workouts have been good and I already feel it in my body, Watch, I'll gain this week. I woke up with good intentions this morning. Laid out my mat, then texed my son good luck at his interviews. He then called and told me his girlfriend's grandma died last night. Of all nights not to be with her. They live together. He is always there. Today he is not. She lived a great life and was 95. So, I need to go get in a quick workout and get dressed. My little Juliet will be here shortly and she hits the ground running.
Have a great day everyone.

@micki48 that would be amazing thanks! I will look her up on youtube too!! I am a complete newbie to pilates.
I was going to get a workout in this evening but that time of month has just hit me HARD. Its all I can do to walk upright through the cramps, so I am accepting today as a duvet and pills kinda day.... I have gym zoom in the morning assuming it goes ahead this time!1 -
Steps for the last few days
Monday: 1,399 plus 40 minutes shoveling
Tuesday: 15,656
Wednesday: 16,562
I have been MIA for the last few days, been busy dealing with the crazy weather and working a lot. I have still been logging, just haven't made it to check in here.4 -
It's late so a quick one from me...
Have stayed on track calorie wise, managed to drink enough and get my 5 a day in. Ankles too sore to wear socks today nevermind shoes, but managed to do 30 mins on the rebounder so pleased with that.
Spent the evening in my current happy place; on the sofa doing cross stitch!4 -
Met all goals today. Steps 12,3443

Where did today go?? I got my call from the hospital at 8:30 this morning, so then I was liberated to go out snowshoeing, tramping down all our paths, hanging out in the winter sunshine. I feel a lot better now I even had a good Pilates session, practiced for a while, and now I'm heading for the sauna. Ahhhh.
So now that you have a photo of my gym - I'll post one of my indoor gym one of these days. I use the grand piano as a barre sometimes - now I'll always think of you with your crib barre, @KellyBgetsfit ! And I want to see the valentine dress @conleywoods and the weighted vest, @fuschiabolero -- we can have a WaistAways fashion show
Welcome back @evangsimmons170 Can't wait to hear about your jam packed last couple of months. We have a lot to catch up on!
The Friday weigh-in list is as impressive as Wednesday's. Heads up, everyone - it's been a good week for lots of people, hopefully for you too

Sorry I've had a few chaotic weeks with it probably not ending for a couple months No change in weight, which is a small success in my book! I also got my second Covid vaccine shot today woo, so that's exciting! @jugar1
-
Wow @jugar ! Your gym is gorgeous! What a treasure you have there.
Never got to my Pilates today but got in 46 active minutes. My granddaughter and I did some “serious” ballet and modern dance with a weighted ball today. Tutus and all. 😂😜 Then around 9:30pm I wanted to eat something else. Heard you all in my head and said I had to reach my 9k steps first. So I jogged around my house, which is a cool figure eight, for about 10-15 minutes. It was really great. Then I went to sit down and SMACKED my knee directly on the corner of the coffee table. Ouchie!!!! So I didn’t want anything to eat after that!! Ha! I'm fine. Put an ice pack on it. It’s bruised but it will be ok. Such a klutz. And I logged my food.
Tomorrow am off to get hubby’s vaccine. One step closer.
Talk to you tomorrow.5 -

I’m ok with this weeks result. I’ve been a little down this week and up again so it will settle out. I’ve been in peri menopause for awhile and got my period the first in six months (exciting but then not really) it’s pretty amazing what our bodies go through!
@jugar congrats on getting the call from your doctor and your gym looks beautiful and inviting!
@micki48 fun to think of you doing figure 8’s that’s a good way to forget about snacking. Hope your knee feels better this morning!
@Gidgitgoescrazy great to hear about the new job and that your skills were just what they needed!
Happy Friday everyone!
I’m off to see if I can catch Kay in the Fitbit workweek.... 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ Wait shouldn’t these girls be running the other direction? 🤣5 -

Logging is going good, I really like having one big meal at the end of the day and 2-3 small meals in the afternoon. The small meals I take are mostly protein to keep me from feeling hungry and then I enjoy all the carbs at the one big meal. One thing I need to work on is that I drink a lot of coke light. This wasn't the case when I was working from office. I might have partially replaced my boredom eating habits with a boredom drinking one. I will try switching to sparkling water which is in abundance here. I also have been craving rice for a month now and I should really just get it out of the way. I am such a lazy cook ugh! Outside of that, I feel satisfied with 1800 calories most of the time. The weight loss has slowed down a bit but it's a sign that I have less to lose now so I am not gonna let it bother me. Still hoping to hit wonderland by June(or July) this year, which will mark my one year of logging anniversary.
