I’ll take it! I went to see my doctor earlier this week to check my progress on weight loss and blood pressure. He’s really happy with the progress I’ve made. I told him I hit a plateau right around the 164 mark. He said, “of course. Now you just have to work a little bit harder.” Ugh.....I guess that means I have to dust off the treadmill, and get back to it...or do extra housework. Though I will say I’ve been taking the dog on walks lately because the weather has been nice, (and because I was having work done on my house, so I couldn’t just let her out). She’s been loving it, and I haven’t been hating it, so maybe I’ll just continue that for now, and work my way back to the treadmill.
Summer is almost here, so I guess the extra steps will be a good thing because I’m going to the beach, and I KNOW I am not ready for that bathing suit.

I have been at a plateau for several days and it is quite frustrating. I am thinking I need to stop eating those exercise calories but that is easier said than done!

Guys I was not going to post this. I am seriously hurt and confused right now. I have exercised every day I am under my calories everyday. I don't get this. My clothes are fitting looser. What am I missing? I looked over my diary and maybe I am consuming more salt than I thought. I know that I am not drinking as much water as I should. I was tempted to just chuck it in, but then I realized just how I lost that 7 pounds in one week and didn't understand how that could be, maybe this is the reverse. I was tempted, but I did not stop at Burger King for that Hawaiian Whooper and Spicy Nuggets, I still came home and weighed and measured. I'm feeling depressed, but I still exercised.
Sorry team, I will try to do better for next week.

Hi there,
PLEASE don't give up and dont worry about posting here! We all have fluctuations. I used to weigh in once a week and if the number went up, especially if I knew I had eaten perfectly, I would sink like a stone and give up! I now weigh myself every day no matter what! I find that doing this, the number becomes just that - a number. Nothing more or less. If I eat a physically heavy meal (regardless of calories) I will weigh more in the morning. If I eat a very early dinner or just a physically light dinner (or eat a food that acts as a diuretic like asparagus) I will jump down. It makes sense since until you expel that food (euphemism) it is just adding to your weight. By weighing in every day I find that I accept these fluctuations and am a lot less stressed over the number. It becomes much less important to be down on your WI day!
Most likely, you had a salt heavy couple days with heavy food and that is why you gained. Conversely, the week you lost 7 pounds you probably had great digestion, less salt and lighter foods. Neither weight is probably accurate - probably something in between is your actual weight.
My weight loss if very slow at this point in my life, about one pound a week. During the week my weight goes up and down but each week I seem to within one lb down each week which when you think about it that is 52 lbs in a year! I can live with that!
This whole "contest" is really about support not winning! Take heart and keep at it. BTW, I love your handle "transparentenigma" - very clever!5 -

Don't let it worry you. Carry on. Muscle weight more than fat..so you might be adding muscle, which is a good thing as it also burns more calories. Keep exercising and sticking to your calorie goal. Each day will have ups and downs...but over the long run it will pay off.2 -

No worries You dont have to be serious with weekly weight changes. If you look it widely, it is just some ups and downs! What is more important isnt the weight but how you feel about yourself such as the loosening clothes!! It means more than the number:) and the lifestyle as well!2 -

A small gain on the muscle means as well you can lose your fat faster as muscle helps burn fat!! It’s a good sign as well:)
