Sorry for not checking in yet I've been in a rebellious phase all week. Not tracking all my foods, high carbs, alcohol, pizza, ice cream, chips and salsa!! Funny I used to love these foods and just eat what I wanted - now I eat just a small portion and then feel regret about eating them. This not a healthy approach either. So... next week's weigh-in might be trashed. The progress I have been seeing in February has stopped and while I see my weight increasing each morning (thank goodness I am doing 7 day averaging weigh ins: my last Saturday weight was 153.4 and this Saturday was 155.8) I am not making new decisions to get back to the routine I know is effective. Awwwkkk!
This post is Sunday morning for me. I will fast until this afternoon and convince myself that I know better and will make healthy choices that get me closer to MY goals.5 -
@jugar love the stroller pic! Once when I was running a marathon at mile 22 or so I wanted to walk and was barely moving when a man who had to be in his 70's trotted happily by me and patted my back. He cheerfully said "You got this!" I was inspired and tried to catch him as he bounced away. He had to have finished miles ahead of me!3

@Terytha I was looking at that movie last night - but it's £20 to rent in the UK (on top of the Disney+ subscription fee) which is too much for two of us, when we would've been able to see it for £10 at the cinema, had they been open. I did watch Soul last night which I did enjoy. Also started Snowpiercer (Netflix) which I got into within 2 minutes of it starting.
It's mid-afternoon on Sunday and it feels like we've had a busy weekend. I finished work late at 3pm on Friday and went for the 2 hour walk which pretty much wiped me out. Yesterday we went to the garden centre (I have missed it so much!) and got a couple of tomato plants, and a grow house, but the plants will stay inside - under the daylight lamp with my fly trap - for a month or two. Then did the food shopping, and went to Wilko which is a bit of a toiletries/home/DIY store, and bought decorators caulk and the equipment we need for wall papering. The afternoon was spent on DIY, then we went for an hour's walk. A little more DIY in the evening touching up paint.
Today I was shattered by lunch time! I'd finished the office ceiling yesterday, so could re-fit the light fitting today. Then I've fitted the cable management system under the desks so no more wires on the floor, and finally put my monitor arm up. I am having OH's existing monitor when he gets a 'new' one from a friend, and will unfortunately be waiting a while longer, but the monitor arm gives me more space and flexibility immediately. I have some decluttering to do in the office, as I'm losing a bit of storage, though OH has gained some so I want to go through and organise everything. I need to do a tiny bit of sanding in the cloakroom and clean the room ready for priming, then a bit of filling and sanding in the spare bedroom.
I'm going for a run in half an hour and will probably just want to chill afterwards. My knees and glutes have been alright whilst I've been on the go so much; I'm realising that it's sitting which is causing the problems. I think I need to replace my office chair but don't see how I'll be able to do until we can go out shopping again (hopefully in mid-April) and I can visit a specialist store. I have very little curve to my spine but the chair is quite shaped, meaning my upper back isn't supported at all.5 -

Sorry friends! Back to yo-yoing again, I'm afraid. But I'm not too downhearted.
This past week I started my 25k Hike Training programme, so I am feeling really positive about being able to meet my goals for my charity walk in September. It feels good to be building up my distance walking and endurance. This lunchtime I walked 6 and a half kilometres at lunchtime in one and a half hours. Of course I need to build this up so that I'm ready for the 25k London Bridges Trek in September, but I'm confident. Other wins this week have been my other workouts - so other than the two walking days that I had last week, I also had three days of following the SELF Together Challenge. Fun!
@DD265 I feel truly humbled by your renovation efforts, and you have pushed me into getting my own refurbishment projects back up and running, so thank you! Next for me is transforming my son's old bedroom into a guest room / a filming studio for my online English classes.
My main goals for this week are to:
Drink 2 litres each day
7 hours of sleep each night
Reduce snacking (to every other day, to start)
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, Friends.

I weighed myself 4 times in 4 locations and that was the number. I don't trust it but what can I do.
So here's what I figure about myself. At any given time, I'm carrying 5-6 pounds of water that I can't get rid of. Then my time of the month rolls around and it all drops off.
I'm anticipating a gain next week with that in mind.
My jeans have been feeling a little looser lately though.5 -

I thought I would just report weight, but then...
Garmin has a challenge this weekend, a 5k run. "I will get this badge," says me. It was my 1sr run since October. I've run up & down curbs at least 1000 times in the past 16 years. Today. Ooops! Slip. I have a patch of road rash on both legs, but that's all. And I did it in front of a bunch of traffic. 😁 Now, I will have no problem calling myself a runner! I'm almost done with a 10 mile exercise bike ride then time for a painful shower and food. Watch those curbs people! 😊7 -
Oh, then I sliced my thumb cutting a potato before the ride. What a Sunday...4

This. I am actually chuckling. Who ever chuckles? Of course, not about you getting hurt, but about your way with the words. And that this one is a separate message. What a Sunday indeed! I am glad that you only got a bit of road rash, some aches, and a sliced thumb. Better quit while you're ahead and take a nap!3 -
Solution!
My wonderful sister @EvMakesChanges (Evelyn) will help me out with the exercise minutes being converted into steps enterprise. She will collect them and I'll put them in the spreadsheet, so hopefully that will make it painless all around.
Just a reminder for anyone who is on the step/exercise team and wants to supplement their "plain" steps with some other forms of exercise - please report how many minutes, what the exercise was, and the speed/intensity level. If you are running, it is not helpful to tell the distance alone. Please say how many minutes and around what speed. This can be in minutes per mile/km, words like jogging or sprinting, etc. Bicycling also - around how many miles/km per hour, or how out of breath and sweaty you got. Thanks!3 -

@YinxFed haha I see people doing so much more than we are... We've been in the house two years now and I feel like it's taken us a while to get into the flow so will endeavor to keep chipping away at it all. So many Pinterest boards (and favourite things on Etsy and NotOnTheHighStreet), so little time/money/space to do them all! My latest 'favourite thing' is these Beach Clean coasters and place mats, which are made from cork and recycled plastic pulled from the oceans. How cool is that?! Now I'm thinking about re-covering our dining chairs to complement them... it never ends.
I listened to a podcast this evening (Feel Better, Live More by Dr Rangan Chatterjee) for the first time in forever. When I had a long commute to work (so 2 years ago) I'd mostly listen to podcasts whilst driving the 1hr30+ each way, but now I'm working from home, or the drive to the office is ~10 minutes, I haven't been making the time. I'm aiming to listen to one a day next week and see if it's something I want to stick with - I find I can learn a lot - so if I go walking solo, or OH is busy on his computer, I will put one on.4 -
Got behind in the chat again! Way to go team on the most green % in the first week of March!!
My poor eating recovered somewhat around Wed/Thurs but then Fri/Sat were not great again. Today was so-so.. some good things eaten, some bad. I did, however, resolve to reinstate my high school era practice of "The Sunday Long Run." Was never much of a fan when I *had* to be doing it on the cross country team, but now the time and length is all up to me. And the definition of "long" has certainly been adjusted. I did 4 miles straight today! That's the longest run I've managed without stopping since probably early December, I think. My 1-2 miles during the week have been going pretty well. I think mindset is really, really key for me. I need to focus my brain early in the day and resolve to do things. It seems to help. So now I'm at 11/23 miles for March. Woo!
( @jugar @EvMakesChanges for extra steps, this was 46 min, 11.5 min/mile) And then I walked the additional 2.5 miles back home, as my 4 mile path was designed to get me to a nature conservation that I haven't been to before, and it only partially looped back in the right direction.
I've got easy meals for this week - defrosted some homemade breaded chicken cutlets, and I'll be making some basic roasted pearl onions to go with them. My friend whose yoga class I take on Thursdays designed a "march madness" workout challenge that I'm going to try (not related to the bball games, just to try all 8 of the workouts she put on her instagram page and then we followers will vote in bracket-style at the end of the month for our favorites). I'll do 2 of those this week, plus her Thursday class and my Wednesday instagram live workout. I am mostly talking to my own brain at this point of the post, than all of you - follow through!
@micki48 steps for this week!
At least I am consistent with those. Imagine where I'd be if I could stay under my calorie goal just as often. Hm hm hm.4 -
Met all goals today but had a birthday celebration so I had bad food choices today. Darn Olive Garden and cake. . Steps 12,707.5

a strange weekend here somehow, eating not so great but I got a good march through the woods today...good for the soul. I somehow hit the chart as a mention for March 1st week but @jugar, I'm sitting on the sidelines this month as I sort my recent yoyo-ing out.
Spring weather in the forecast for this week - very energizing...getting garden chores done will burn some calories for sure.2 -

I have been getting my water in and eating at home but I can’t seem to get that exercise in 🤦🏾♀️. On Saturday at work I ate my food on my breaks so when my lunch came I went and walked the parking lot. I’m going to try that all this week. Other than the exercise I have been doing pretty good.5 -

I think your post about a party and some wild eating was the first time you have not simply hit all your goals every day - I hope you had a wonderful time. You are so disciplined!3 -

Hi Kelly! Earlier in the week you had reported that you did 30 minutes of AAA (arms abs *kitten) on Sunday. I put that in, but just wanted to confirm since you did not mention it here.1 -
WEEK 2 CHALLENGE -- CONSISTENCY 102
This is a continuation of March week 1...
It is a familiar kind of challenge - tracking the exact numbers of 2-3 things of your choice every single day. Just being consistent. And having alternatives if your plan gets derailed. Protect those numbers all week! Consistency is like a muscle - the more you do it, the better it gets.

So I have to vent...
Saturday when I went to work, my husband took the car, so he just dropped me off at work... Well that new girl didn't come in, although she said she was there at 9, and kept checking back to see if a car was there, but not once did she knock on the door or bother to call the office.... Anyway, the owner sent me this long text that she had sent him, about how I was an important piece for her to be successful there... Umm I don't want to be that.. He was supposed to hire someone who could just pick it up and run, it's pretty obvious he didn't and is expecting me to help guide her... I am so over this... I don't know why I let it bother me, but it does. If it was reversed he wouldn't be helping me out...
Anyway, no exercise this morning, but I did do a nice long meditation about grace...
Have a good day.4 -

Yep, I would have called the office "anybody there??"
