    @icfa5317 - I got the wrong name - I know you are not new to the team, and I am also hoping your daughter is recovering.
    @lmf1012 Glad you are here!

    Things that make me mad - why does Kale have calories?? It doesn't taste good at all (to me) and although it has a lot of vitamins, it is sure hard for me to spend my calories on it!

    Thanks for the warm welcome!! Also, have you tried Baby Kale? Regular kale does not taste good to me either, mainly due to its very rough texture.

    To me, eating kale seems too much like chewing on wood😝

    I'm still paying for my last weekend of indulgence.
    This weekend is now an unexpected trip out of town that could easily turn into lots of eating out and little exercise.

    Hi beautiful people! Quick stop here to post my step and my weight!
    Tuesday I had my appointment with the diëtist and that went bad!!!
    She gave me a worse diet with less calories (less than a 1000 calories, insane). Only one piece of fruit a day, only once veggies... Real bad. I ended completely crazy after the appointment. I feel really bad because I´m putting all the effort I can and I feel unheard. And paying a shiit lot of money for it.
    Anyways; I´m doing quite good with my steps and quite bad with the scale. But someone told me that my body is thinking I´m starving and therefore it produces fats and everything...

    @Bluetail6 Ugh - I don't like to hear that tickets are starting to cost more - I should have purchased tickets for the future. I'm sure coming from Alaska is a pretty penny. What a nice time to head to the southwest! Hope you find the house in good shape.
    @Megan_smartiepants1970 Ouch, ouch, ouch. I'm sure it is hard on you to not be able to take your long walks and I bet your dogs are snuggled right next to you, concerned. Can you tell yet if anything is better?

    Nothing better yet .. I had surgery yesterday extremely painful ...I get the drain out tomorrow ...It is very hard not to be out there walking but I haven't done it for 3 weeks prior to surgery

    Tracked Yes
    Under Calorie Yes
    Water 104oz
    Steps 9206
    Exercise 45min jogging/walking on treadmill

    Not much to report! Did some house cleaning in the morning. My nieces were here for the afternoon/early evening. My husband made red curry with butternut squash for dinner, that was fantastic. He needed to get some extra work done last night anyway (he's a computer programmer) so I saved my workout for the evening and used the treadmill after putting the kids to bed. It ended up being a 20min jog with a walking warm up and cool down. Felt great.

    Today my nieces are here again. My brother had to go into work on his day off so he called for some help with his girls. They are napping now and I just got the lawn mowed. It's almost time to go pick up my son from school. Have a great day!

    Your units for measuring blood glucose is different here in Canada. What is normal with your units? Here you aim for your A1C to be below 6 and with my meter my fasting should be below 7.

    Awesome steps! I would call it successful.

    @363days
    I will post some at the beginning of the May challenge. I just got to get Garry to take a picture. I do have one that was taken last year and I was at the same weight as I am now so I might use that. I hope after a few more nights sleep I will be back to myself. I don’t have much get up and go.

    Will get to rest of posts after supper.

    I have never had kale by itself just mixed in a salad. I have always wanted to make kale chips but never got to it.

    @888Angie888
    Your weight from the weekend has come down. Wasn’t it 10 pounds when you start back on plan?

    My A1c is 6 as of 3 months ago ....when I do my blood sugar here at home on Monday it was 106 (I only do it 2 days a week ) not sure why it was 153 yesterday since I didn't really eat dinner the night before my surgery and I didn't have any liquids or anything yesterday until I got home

    Peloton 30 minutes, 8 miles moderate effort
    Steps ... 10,200!

    I went for an evening walk. Came home, still needed 2,000 steps. Dragged my son with me to walk up and down our stairs. He started cheering me on. I started high five-ing him as we passed one another on the staircase. It took about 20 minutes. He stayed with me the whole time. I don’t know who was more excited when we hit 10,000 🤗💕

    @lmf1012 Welcome to Downsizers. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. Lots of laughs, love and support here.

    @Megan_smartiepants1970 concentrate on recovery. the steps will come back in time. maybe some people here can donate some steps to you while you're down. lol

    @TheresaM787 do you need a sippy cup for your coffee? Grats on fitting legalized child abuse into your workout. lol. I love the way you got family involved and a cheering squad while you finished up.

    @lindamtuck2018 congrats on the sleep and all greens. i really hope you've found something to help on a nightly basis. good luck with your appts. At SeaWorld you can swim with dolphins, feed a beluga, feed rays, pet rays, sea cucumbers, other small creatures. they won't let us swim with sharks though. something about teeth in flesh being a bad thing.

    check-in for 4/29:
    steps - 2571. hot day and the water was turned off for repairs most of the day.
    calories - under 1800. snacked on peanuts right after lunch when i shouldn't have. I was given milk for dinner when i wanted diet tea so i didn't eat dessert since the milk put me so close to the limit.
    exercise - heat + no water equals not a chance in hades. lol i'll be going out in the morning before the heat gets here.

    I have been kind of quiet on here lately. This last week has been very exhausting and chaotic at my house. We are having several rooms painted including bedrooms and closets. Last weekend we had to clear closets out and move bedroom furniture to the middle of the rooms. We had to cover everything. We got all of the baseboards, doors and trim painted, so we had to clean the floors, vacuum next to the baseboards and wipe the baseboards and over twenty doors down. So much work!

    The painters were here from 8AM - almost 6PM every day this week. They finished today just before 6PM. We tried to stay outside as much as possible while the four painters were inside. We had to keep the dogs outside as well. It has all just been so exhausting. Starting tomorrow we will begin moving furniture back into place, rehanging blinds and curtain rods/curtains, putting things back into closets etc. Also, I'll have to mop the floors and clean the little specks of paint off of the floor.

    In addition, my 19 y.o. daughter is scheduled with the oral surgeon to have all four wisdom teeth removed Friday morning. She is so nervous. She has never had an IV or surgery before. She has to put ice packs on each side of her face for 20 minutes on/20 minutes off for two days. I'll be helping her with that. So that will be exhausting as well!

    @lindamtuck2018 Please excuse me from weighing in this week. I meant to get on here yesterday to ask you. I have absolutely no idea where my scale is. I haven't seen it all week! I'll find it before next weigh-in. I don't like not knowing what is going on with my weight because I usually weigh daily.

    I have read all of the many, many pages of messages since I was last on here, but won't be able to personally respond because there are so many messages!

    part 2

    @littleflutterby welcome back and i'm looking forward to meeting you.

    @Z10Rtza sorry about the back checkin with your dietician. i hope something clicks and starts your weight down. excellent steps.

    @363days I've only found one pic of me near my heaviest. being housebound for as long as i was i didn't want any pictures. the one i have is my driver's license. i'm trying to save that for June so i can show a 2 year difference in my face. otherwise it's body shots from behind as i was doing stuff. my daughter kept taking those shots instead of my front for some reason.

    @rlaskey2 grats on the steps and eating victories. if you only tasted the cheese bread i'd call it a win. we have to taste things our kids are selling and eating.

    @iradi8 all of that work on your house and 4 wisdom teeth? wow. good luck to your daughter. i hope you're happy with the new color and the job they did. when you can catch your breath take stock of everything you've done for yourself and start up again.

    Wow... I have been shut out of MFP since late yesterday. I got an email about a PW reset, which I did not request. Anyway, I sent about 4 Help messages. Got no helpful response... I just reset my PW. I should have just reset it to begin with, lol. I guess all someone would find out, had my account been "hacked", was that I'm going from overweight to fit...🤣🤣🤣

    That is so cute! We need a cheer team when pushing to get those steps in. Great job!

    My Dad has a winter place in Florida. He never got there this winter because of COVID. I am hoping to go stay with him for a couple of weeks if they get down this coming winter. I think I will visit sea world this time. Great work on your check in. I am so impressed with the food choices you make to stay under your1800.

    @iradi8
    It is totally understandable that you haven’t been around. I will carry your weight over from last week. I am sure everything will be nice and fresh one you get everything back in place. I hope your daughter’s surgery goes well and I can understand she is nervous.

    @Bluetail6
    Awesome loss! Thanks for the chuckle.

    Thursday check in
    ✅Steps 5,340
    ✅Sleep
    ✅Walk
    ✅Water

    I hit that sleep goal with 4 extra minutes. Better than being 4 minutes short. It was rain8ng when I left to walk to the dentist but it was pouring when I finished. Luckily, Garry got off work early so he could pick me up. I did loops around the apartment to make sure I hit my step goal. The dentist hygienist checked my blood pressure and it was really high. My anxiety has been really bad this week so I suspect that is what caused it. I was happy with my dietitians appointment. He is happy with my weight loss even though it is really slow. My insulin at night has decreased by 14 units since my last appointment. I knew I had been adjusting it since they took me off it while I was sick with COVID but I thought I was back to were I was before. 🤷‍♀️ For the last month I have had low blood sugars a few times a week. We talked about ways of eating to prevent this. I am revamping my meal plan for the week after some tips from him. I see him in 3 months. Hopefully, he is happy with my progress over the next 3 months.

    My grocery shopping is off schedule this week as my husband went to work at 2 am and is going at 5 am tomorrow. I hate when my routine is disrupted. I am going for a walk early as I like to get my house stuff done before he gets home and he should be home really early today.

    Happy FriYAY!

    No problem. I figured that you would have a gain after surgery as a few people on the team have had this experience. I will carry your weight over.

    Congratulations 🎉you hit all four of your goals - including sleep 👏👏👏👏
    Very impressive that you walked to your dentist. I’m sorry to hear about the anxiety- it’s an awful feeling. It’s motivating to hear that although you felt that way, you STILL hit the goals. 👏👏👏

    @Megan_smartiepants1970
    I’m so sorry to hear about the pain. I hope it lessens quickly. The excess fluid will cause that weight gain. I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself and listening to your body- not trying to go on two- hour walks 😆

    @Bluetail6
    Congratulations on your loss!! Look how far you’ve come 👏👏👏 that’s so strange, I know mfp glitches every now and then, glad you got back in!

    @rwood566
    Under 1800👏👏 that’s a terrific amount of steps, especially when not going outside. Yes, it’s getting way too hot. I am of the mindset, “you will have fun and like it” when making them exercise 🤣 my poor kids.
