Crazy day yesterday with painters and electrician here for the renovations and the kids last Wednesday at home. I had planned to not work out and go grocery shopping instead but ended up having to drive my daughter and her friends to volleyball. Grocery shopping is now on today’s agenda with various other renovation related tasks. I love doing renovations but they sure are a lot of work. Not sure if I will get to my work out today since it is raining here and there is crap piled in my workout spot for the painters.3 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970 3/31 steps 2,908. This is harder than I though. I'm trying to remind myself to get up & move!
@rwood566 & @lindamtuck2018 I love pepsi & Mt Dew. Unfortunately I do not like diet pops. I can deal with diet root beer if it's out of a fountain but still dont prefer it. I was drink a lot of pop. I'm down to 1-2 bottles a day (20 oz) but would like to eventually not drink any. I do get very bad headache when I dont have the caffeine. It is crazy how it can affect people different. I wish I could cut it cold turkey but I would be down for the count for a few days at least!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful April 1st! Mother Nature played an April fools joke on our area that spring really isnt here...woke up to everything being covered in snow. (My huskeys loved it!.....me not so much. Lol)3 -
@kdlgiannoulis
It is good that you are practicing mindfulness. It is an important part of weight loss.
@red1185
Great steps! You should be proud!
@rwood566
Well done on those goals! Just think of all the extra steps you will get running to the washroom so drink away.
@azkunk
Great job on the goals!
@roz0810
Awesome loss!
@363days
I am going to order the book later but I am going to check out these videos in the meantime.
@lelbarou
You are killing it with the steps. Maybe you can have a lighter lunch to offset this morning’s calories. I have been buying the blue menu bagels lately. They are fairly low in calories and so yummy. I like to walk to Tim Hortons to get a tea sometimes. I have a hard time resisting a tea biscuit or croissant but I will give in every now and then.
@rlaskey2
Definitely sounds like a busy day. Maybe you could do a Leslie Sansone walking video if you have time. I know some of the girls in the group like them.
@missysave0612
Giving up pop is very hard. I had to wean myself off it. I got headaches if I went cold turkey. I drank a ton of coke. I first switched from bottles to cans. At the end I switched to mini cans and eventually stopped all together. I do have one on the weekends now but I have to buy just one.

I'm trying to come up with some goals for April...something SMART? Hmmm 🤔?0
-
Goal for April:
--daily mini-workout--
...in addition to...not instead of...any other exercise 😉
10 push-ups (modified)
10 tri-cep dips
10 squats
It should be easy enough to commit to for 30 days--less than 5 minutes a day, no equipment, no excuses! 🙂

Congrats on the loss! We are going into lockdown on Saturday for 4 weeks. I am trying to come up with a challenge/goals for those 4 weeks. I think I may steal your mini workout as part of my challenge.2 -
@888Angie888 Very nice SMART goal. Have a wonderful time with that.
@roz0810 Excellent loss. Hard work does pay off. Keep it up.
@missysave0612 Cutting out soda is very hard and takes a long time. When i started losing weight i drank a 6 pack of regular soda a day. I slowly cut it down to 3 a day and then started sprinkling in diet every now and then. Finally i switched over to the tea/lemonade/koolaid in the big tins. still had lots of sugar but i started making it weaker and weaker. It took me about a year to get down to one soda every week or two. My headaches were murder for about a month. Good luck.
@azkunk I too love those tiles. You'll have to have all of over for a bbq after all of this is over. lol
@lindamtuck2018 Good luck with the lockdown. Stay sane.
I'd like to thank everyone here for all of your posts about your routines. They have shown me that despite all of my success, in reality i've just been skating thru all of this without putting in the hard work. All of you have been showing me just how much more i have to do once i get nearer to a "normal" weight. I'm already starting to walk more just to try to keep up with you all. Please keep up the great work. You all are excellent teachers.6 -
I drink the zero sugar 7-ups ...I don't drink them everyday ...Since I am keto I make mio with sea salt and water (think kool-aid....I also drink Ultima replisher's electrolytes drink to keep up with my salt intake... I am a water girl and I will either drink it plain or with lemon or lime ...or berries
Glad to have you will us @rwood566 this is an awesome group with lots of support/motivation and good listeners when problems arise0 -
Hernia surgery is set for April 21st..they will call a day before with a time ..I hope this will be the last hernia surgery6

So my first day of dropping my calories by 100 went well. I didn't really feel hungry at the end of the night. I think it will help me spread out my calories better. For the past few weeks it seems like I was eating how much food I was hungry for during the day, and then at night realizing I had lots of calories left and having a big snack. I actually really like having a night time snack after my kids go to bed, but I'd rather it be one thing, not 3 because I'm short on calories.
I'm really late making my post today because my brother and nieces were over to decorate Easter cookies for most of the day.
I've been working on stuff for the consignment sale pretty much non stop for the last couple days and I really screwed up my back. Probably just from being on my feet so much and all the bending but my lower back is really sore. I decided to make today a rest day for exercise because of that and for how busy we were today anyway. It should work out ok to still get in my 6 days because dad wants to do an early morning walk on Saturday (my normal rest day) this week.3 -
Has been a stressful week and I was feeling weak from on going health issues. Pulled back to focus on core priorities and what they mean to me. Restarted exercise 4 days ago after two weeks off due to physical issues. Taking the time off was a blessing and a curse. In previous times, I would rely on exercise to suppress my appetite. Without exercise, I felt not a physical hunger but a mental hunger. Don't know if this is because I am getting close to goal weight or not. I was able to stay within calorie budget outside of 3 days so know that I can do this long term. @363days thank you for posting the "Atomic Habits" video. I am a firm believer in the power of habits and the main principles really resonated with me.
@rwoods566 have you seen a doctor for your lightheadedness? I started out feeling that way occasionally then became every morning, then went on to fainting and falling in the mornings until finally felt that way all day. Along the way was diagnosed with anemia and treated but it didn't provide relief. Have recently been diagnosed with a medication I take affecting my hormonal balance and am awaiting referral to an endocrinologist. Offending medication was substituted with another but will take some form of it for life.
tldr: point is there could be many things causing dizziness and it deserves further investigation.2 -
@Beautyofdreams My doctor is trying to get me a referral to the cardiac clinic. they wanted alot of blood work, an ekg and many b/p readings in different positions. i got all of that done this week and so now i'm waiting on the referral. all of my blood work was normal.
report for 4/1:
steps 8231. walked 3.6 miles in 1 hr 12 min this morning before it got to hot. took a pic of a
tortoise in someone's yard.
under 1800 calories
exercised - i felt good on my walk today and no bouts of lightheadedness. it's just like most of my illnesses - it's bad until right before i go to the doctor when it disappears. not sure if i want to take a walk tomorrow or use my light weights for some arm/shoulder stuff.3 -

@roz0810- nice loss 🤩
@363days - I am really liking the book so far. Are you listening to the audiobook! Great job signing up for that yoga class!
@lelbarou - I hope you can get the book soon. I hope you enjoy the restful weekend ahead.
@rlaskey2 - you sound super busy. I love when a project is finished but I hate the work. What are you renovating!
@missysave0612 - you got snow today. In Phoenix, it hit 95*F (35*C) 😱 I am not ready for the heat.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 - I am so glad that you got your date for the surgery. Now, I am hoping that you can convince the surgeon to let you go home the same day.
@lindamtuck2018 - great day 🌟
@888Angie888 - nice loss and great goals!
@rwood0089 - thanks, a big bbq would be great. I wish this pandemic would just be done already so I could make that happen
@TheresaM787 - not bad on the goals. What is your biggest challenge getting the water in? Are you drinking other things?
@Tazaria87 - I hope you back feels better
@Beautyofdreams - you are so inspiring going through all that you are and have been trough recently and still staying focused and getting closer to goal
3 -
So, I did not exactly stick to my plan today but I did hit my goals with my macros, steps, exercise minutes and water.
Tomorrow’s goals:
1. Eat pre-planned breakfast and lunch.
2. Walk 2o minutes before work and 20 minutes at lunch
3. Drink 90 oz2 -
Thank you everyone for your kindness. Happy Friday. Have a good weekend!2

Weigh In Day: Friday
SW (Starting Weight): 249 lbs
PW (Previous Weight): 209.8 lbs
CW (Current Weight): 212.6 lbs
I'm up 3lbs this week because I moved my Friday cheat meal to Tuesday, a friend came over, we had too much champagne and well, Wednesday was ruined and I slept 4 hours, so Thursday was ruined, too. Lesson learned! I'm actually really pleased that the "damage" is just 3lbs, it could have been so much worse.
In France we're back to a month of reduced contact so I've decided to be a hermit this April and focus on my programs - there are a few Blogilates butt challenges I want to try out, maybe the 30 Day Shred and then my new hobby, the jump rope! I finally got a proper one and it's great.
Steps:
Saturday 19 493
Sunday 11 378
Monday 10 618
Tuesday 15 561
Wednesday 13 843
Thursday 8 853

Woohoo! My Rower is finally being shipped (Apr 7 expected delivery). It's kind of funny but it seems like we've gotten so used to instant gratification, it almost felt weird to wait so long for something.
@Piqueaboo - Just curious what kind of jump rope you purchased as there are so many to choose from. I'm one of those 'analysis paralysis' consumer types which means I've been comparing ratings and reviews on dozens of sites and still haven't decided but I think I'm leaning towards getting the Atlas Weighted Jump Rope and a jump rope mat to protect the rope / flooring.4 -
@888Angie888 I hope you don't mind if I piggy-back off of your goals. I want to start getting stronger but get a little overwhelmed at saying "I'm starting weight training". I'm going to put these for the month of April. Good idea!1

Good for you to have a date!!! That is so hopeful to know you have this to "look forward to".2 -
@jimboden3 YAY!!!! I'm excited for you and I know what you mean about instant gratification!!! Sometimes a two day delivery from Amazon seems sooo long
@Piqueaboo Sounds like you had a ton of fun - your steps are outstanding
@bluetail6 way to go - I'm still loving your new profile pic, it looks "artsy"
@Beautyofdreams You used the word mental hunger - yes,, that is what I get, as well! Glad you are able to exercise again.
@Tazaria87 Ouch! Sorry about the back pain - I hope it is better already
@azkunk You are doing great with your consistency
@lindamtuck2018 Another lockdown! How tough - I don't know if they could do another lockdown here - we are all just over it. Everyone is wearing masks, but people are starting to be out everywhere and on St. Patty's day, one of the bars blocked the streets to have a street party, but the police didn't do anything about it because they don't want to be the Covid enforcers. We are fortunate that almost everyone who wants a vaccine has one but the reason is that many of the members of our Indian tribes have refused the vaccine so it went to anyone looking for one. I hope the tribal members are safe and do not get sick - that worries me.
@rlaskey any advice to a new renovator? I just got a loan for renovations and what to do is part of the challenge. It seems overwhelming and my son had some great advice yet it wasn't what I first had in mind. That makes me doubt my original plan, because what he indicated really does make more sense. Here it is difficult to find contractors who aren't backed up, and I'm challenged with knowing if they are going to do the job right...I have an architect coming on Tuesday, I hope to do an attic room - have to check if the supports are strong enough; my detached garage is about to fall down and it used to have a servants quarters in it (only 150 square feet) so there is old plumbing and electrical. I'd like to have a little she shed here; and many odds and ends that I've learned to live with but now that money is coming I realize "I should get that door fixed". I can tell that already my dreams are bigger than my pocketbook so I will be trimming the list as I get bids.
I'm up 2 pounds still from last weekend, but I have lost .6 from the weekend eating. I would like to get a "ltd" but I've been here for 6 months and keep gaining/losing the same 4 pounds. It doesn't show, but I've improved my eating habits - not having the binges like I used to, and I'm eating less processed foods. I think part of the problem is that I'm having greatly reduced exercise due to my knee - waiting about 5 weeks for a referral, now! I don't know what else to do except to keep going - as mentioned, concentrating on doing yoga and I made Angie's strength exercises a part of my goal, too. I hope everyone has a great weekend, it is beautiful here!

@Megan_smartiepants1970
Yay! Finally a hernia date.
@TheresaM787
You are doing great on the bike and steps! Tomorrow you can concentrate on getting enough water.
@Tazaria87
It is good that you adjusted ok. To some a 100 calories might not seem like much but there is a lot you can fit into a 100 calories or at least I can.
@Beautyofdreams
I hope you start feeling better. When I binge I always say I am hungry mentally not physically. I wonder if it is the same feeling.
@rwood566
Great job on your goals. I really enjoyed the picture of the tortoise you posted on your feed.
@Bluetail6
Awesome loss!
@azkunk
I call that a good day meeting all your goals!
@Piqueaboo
You know what happened so this should be gone when you get back to plan next week. We start lockdown tomorrow so I am coming up with a challenge for myself.
@jimboden3
Yay! I am sure you will get good use out of the rower.2 -

Sorry I have been MIA... I am much more active on my wall; however, that is no excuse😊❗
I will start from today. We are doing well. The weather is just getting better, and better. Some cold nights, but feeling like spring is getting here.
Thank you all for your nice comments about my new profile pic. @lindamtuck2018,you asked me last month if I had a before photo. Yes, I do, but, I'm honestly too private to post anything online where I could be recognized. It is just not my thing. Absolutely no offense to anyone who feels differently. I will; however, post more of the same as I get closer to goal. But, never, say never... As I do have some photos of a triathlon finish from a few years ago, at my heaviest, 194 lbs.
I did complete my 5-day diet reset. It went really well. It put me in the mindset to redouble my efforts to get to goal. I chose what I would call a semi fast as opposed to eating at maintenance. For me, I was able to really appreciate my deficit. To each his/her own. Please, understand, everyone, I am very driven, self-directed, and motivated. So, when I finally decided to apply those traits to weight loss, they just fit. Just, for me, applying the principles to weight loss that have brought me such success in other areas of life, just made sense. Is it a walk in the park? No, but the alternative is something I'm not willing to accept. I believe I have stated in the past that high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease runs in my family. I don't have any of it, and I am doing my best to keep it that way. Also, my husband is older than I am, and in excellent health. I never, ever want him to be taking care of me for some health issue I could have done my best to try to mitigate. He is an amazing, amazing spouse and deserves me at my best.
Does anyone have any summer plans yet? I haven't traveled in almost two years.... I have a really fun 5-day spa trip planned for June. I have a niece getting married out of state in August. Also, we have a small condo in the Southwest we need to get to.
@lelbarou, Laura, I'm reposting here, what I posted on the wall earlier to you, so everyone else can see it:
I was able to get my first C-19 shot much earlier, than I would normally have been able to. I don't have any comorbidities, and I was under the age range. It was because one of the Native Corporations opened up their extra doses to ALL Alaskans. The Native Corps. have different guidelines. I got my second shot last week, via the same Corp. The State has opened up shots to most residents now, which is great. I'm just really grateful I got vaccinated much earlier than I expected.🙂🙂
Therefore, I'm making travel plans for the first time in, well, forever. Now, I need to try to get back to sleep. I'm really glad tomorrow is a relatively easy day!!😉😊😊🧡
