Yep, not really my genre. I like contemporary suspense, or mystery, or if it has time-travel in it!

I am almost finished with Rachel Saint, sister of Nate Saint who was killed with Jim Elliot and four others. I didn't realize that she had no idea what those five men were going to do that day, especially since she has a call from God to minister to those very people. It did bother me that they lied to her and told her they were going to some seminar! Not a Christian thing to do!

I am reading a Vikki Kestell story, No. 1 WITH A BULLET. It's about an exclusive RV park (37'+ luxury RV's only need apply) and the property manager is an ex-marine who has been helping the new owners to get the site set up; then the wife owner finds out that her husband has signed a contract for Miss Finch (a Sherlock Holmes-type person) to stay there in her much to short and not at all acceptable travel trailer (although it is clean and nice). Things keep happening to keep them from being able to have everything done before the grand opening!

I am reading a futuristic fantasy called HYBRID. You either have add-on's (such as wings, or being able to live under water, etc…) or you are a norm. Some of the add-on's want to kill the norms and the norms need to find the Hybrid so they can prove that it's possible to live peaceably in their world.

I'm in book two in the UNCHARTED series.

I downloaded ROOT OF THE MATTER (audio) from Hoopla, a book I read and really liked. I saw from an e-mail from the author that the audio was available on Hoopla so I am going to listen to it this time.

I finished THE MASTER'S DAUGHTER which was a side story to the saving of king Joash from Queen Athaliah. Very good. I have the second one A WARRIOR'S HEART that I want to start as soon as I get some of the above one's finished.

I read a Misty Beller series:

    Wyoming Mountain Tales

    A PONY EXPRESS ROMANCE

    Misty Beller

    A ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROMANCE

    Misty Beller

    A SWEETWATER RIVER ROMANCE

    Misty Beller

    A MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS ROMANCE

    Misty Beller

I enjoyed the series. I had kind of gotten away from reading her books, but maybe I just needed a break. I enjoyed the last 2 series that I read.

    I also read:
This was a cute premise (finding a husband by following a list in a Regency era book). I had rated all of her other books at 5*, but this one is getting 4.5*….maybe due to the regency flavor, I can't tell.

THE RULES OF FALLING FOR YOU

    Mollie Rushmeyer

    Current:
Her newest released on Friday. I love that I can listen on YouTube and don't miss reading her books since I discontinued KU. I still am going to start it again for a few months, but I haven't gotten to the point that I really want to do it, yet.

I set NUMBER 1 WITH A BULLET to the side for now, I was more into the other things I was reading.

I started AIRDLE'S REALM by Dorothy Gable, a fantasy with a strong biblical view point. Just started it.

THE ONE KNOWN is the third book in a series and it's rather weird so not sure I'll finish it out, but we'll see.

HYBRID by Candace Kade - I remember quite a bit of this one now but am enjoying it for the second time.

My Missionary re-reads have been about RACHEL SAINT; MILDRED CABLE; AND BETTY GREEN, all very good.

I finished book one in ROYAL GUARDIANS SERIES and went right into book 2: Book 1 HIS MASTER'S DAUGHTER and book 2 A WARRIOR'S HEART. Both have to do with getting Joash on the throne of Judah and keeping him there! I have really liked these.

I am reading the Heart Lake series by Jo Grafford. These are basically shorter Christian romance with some suspense. I am getting ready to start book #10 - MOUNTAIN OF FIRE.

And I was going to mention that book 2 of Deborah Raney's newest series (The God Who) just released. The first book was great, but I haven't decided if I'm going to buy it, or wait until I start KU again. I love her books.

I'm reading a fantasy, but not a magical fantasy, just a made up world. AIRDLE'S REALM by Dorothy Gable. The realm of Lamoria was founded by God and the people follow God. At some point Jesus came and they believed in His salvation and live for Him, although some have gone astray and that is what happened to one of the main characters in the story before the story began (figure that one out!). It's been really good so far.

I'm re-listening to ROOT OF THE MATTER a futuristic story where people go back in time to document what truly happened. This one is about John Winthrop and Roger Williams and the truth about their relationship. In the future it is legal to be a Christian you just have to register with the government if you become one and you are closely watched. A couple of the characters are secret Christians and another of the characters is questioning her own beliefs and what she's been told of the Christians. Very interesting.

Still reading the second story in the Uncharted series, book 5 if you count the Beginnings books.

I finished A WARRIOR'S HEART, the continuing story of Judah after the reign of Athaliah and Joash taking his rightful throne. Jesse (brother to book one's Ari) is taken captive by a band of people who want to put Athaliah's daughter on the throne, and Suph, the evil captain wants her to be his wife so he can rule at her side. She has a very kind heart and rescues Jesse, but Suph just won't give up!

I am still working on the Heart Lake series by Jo Grafford. I didn't get a lot of reading done yesterday. I had some organization stuff that I was working on and kept forgetting to turn my book on so that I could listen while I worked.

I picked up a couple of Everlee Whitman's anthologies on the free catalog on Audible. One had 16 books in it, and the other had several but I haven't checked exactly how many. I am over half way through the 16 book one. Let's just say that they are light and good for this time when I don't really want heavy, but probably won't look for more of her books unless I get desperate. They are clean, but just lacking depth. If they were expanded by about 50-100 pages and fleshed out a bit, they would be better.

    What a great deal!

I'm reading a more modern missionary story, A MISSIONARY IN MANILA by Natalie Vellacott, but it hasn't been that good. This is an author-written story of working with street kids (mostly boys) who get caught up in paint sniffing and end up on the streets, as well as into other wicked things. She tries to help them by getting them to rehab and then when they graduate from that into their own home situations - but, for the most part, she leaves them on their own to see how they will handle life - coming to Church, getting a job, etc… I didn't get that. She got one kid a job at a detailing shop where they would be smelling paint fumes all day - huh??? I'm going to finish it, but there just wasn't the desire to reach people for Jesus that I see in other stories.

Still reading A CORD OF THREE STRANDS by Christi Distler. It's about a Quaker family and a young man who is part white and part Lenape Indian. He wants to be a peacemaker between the Lenape and the whites, but that doesn't work out so he goes home and finds that because he didn't leave in the right way there is a big gap between himself and the girl that he held dear. So far it's been pretty good.

WINDS OF DEATH by Tara Grayce is the fourth book in this fantasy series which is a continuation of my favorite fantasy series by her! The third book had come out last month and I was so thrilled to see this one yesterday in my library! I started it last night and again, it's very good!

I still have THE CARPENTER by Pegg Thomas at the front of my library, but haven't gotten back to it much more than a few pages before I go on to something else.

I started reading an anthology - Sweet Beginnings: Five clean, heartwarming romance series starters by Alexa Verde. The first one, Book 1: No Fake Dating for a Cowboy felt like book 3 in a series but it wasn't. References were made to things I felt I should know about but didn't. That first one would be a 3 from me. The second one was better: Book 2: Show Me a Marriage of Convenience. Then I started Book 3: Season of Miracles, but discovered it was set during Christmas. I don't want to read about the holidays right now, so I've moved on to Raspberries and Vinegar by Valerie Comer. I may or may not go back to the Sweet Beginnings set.

Still working on most of the same stories. I'm almost finished reading HINDS FEET IN HIGH PLACES by Hannah Hunnard. I read this years and years ago, but this one has devotionals after each chapter which has been really nice.

I downloaded several other books by Bible-believing Christians from the past that I found for free on one of the sites. There were a bunch of books by Sproul and if you go there please be aware that this man has no idea what the Bible truly says; he is a Scripture-twister to the max.

I finished book 6 (in order from the Beginning's stories) in the UNCHARTED series and started the CHRISTMAS WITH THE COLBURNS story last night. I has read this one in the past, but as I get older all of these books read like new to me! LOL!

I finished WINDS OF DEATH by Tara Grayce, the fifth book in this fantasy series.

I'm also reading: THE CARPENTER by Pegg Thomas, about Salem Village during the time of the witch trials.

THE PEASANT KING by Tessa Afshar, a biblical fiction.

HONOR BOUND by Hallee Bridgeman. I got the prelude and read that and then started back in on the series. I'd read Honor Bound, but again, it feels fresh, although I do remember a good bit of it.

A CORD OF THREE STRANDS by Christy Distler, an Early American story.

I finished THE WOMEN OF OAK RIDGE. Wow, a part of WW2 history that I had no idea about. This is a split time with the second timeline in the 1970's, I think. I am calling it a 5* read, but really it might have been 5+* at another time.

I have that one on my wish list. We heard quite a bit about it when we lived in Tennessee, it was too far from where we lived. So interesting how they kept everything secret.

I'm still working on the same books. I started book 4/7 in the UNCHARTED SERIES, I think it's UNCHARTED HOPE. I remember parts of this one and it was in my library, so I had read it, but it feels fairly new to me! LOL! I'm really enjoying HONOR BOUND but it bothers me when people won't be honest about how they are doing - "Oh, I'm fine" when you know you're not! Our Pastor talked about that quite awhile ago because it's a habit to say, "I'm fine," or "I'm okay". Often in fellowship before worship people ask how I am doing because they know of my struggles, just as I do with them - I often say, "Today is a good day," and if it's not, "I'm struggling today, but grateful I can be at worship." I don't go into specifics, just let them know it's good or it's not so good. I'm enjoying another one that takes place at the beginning of Cyrus' reign, THE PEASANT KING by Tessa Afshar. Cyrus is there, ruling a small Persia and battling with the King of Media who is incredibly wicked. The main characters are a family of Scribes and the Median king's illegitimate son who is working against him in the background.

I finished HINDS FEET IN HIGH PLACES and started another book, but I wasn't focusing on it like I would like to so will start again. I can't remember the title right now, but it was part of a bunch that I downloaded for free recently.

I'm reading too many again. I just finished book 7 of the Uncharted Series, ugh, it made me cry when Tim died! I'm listening to AUGMENTED by Candace Kade, the third book in this fantasy series; WOMEN OF OAK RIDGE by Michelle Shocklee - Clive is not a nice man!; and my missionary bio is a re-read about Charles Muli, and African man who comes up from having nothing to becoming wealthy and sharing that with others as he shares Christ with them. I downloaded THE CHRISTMAS FLOOD BOOK by Roseanna White from Hoopla and will begin that in a day or two.

I'm also reading GLITCH SOCIETY 3, and A DRAGON OUTSIDE book two. Both are fantasies.

A couple have gone by the way-side that I really want to get back into: ECHOS OVER STORMY SEA by R F Whong which is a dual time story about a modern girl who is working on her father's manuscript after he passes away and it is about a Chinese pirate girl who she finds out actually lived. I also want to get back to WONDROUS LOVE by Dwight L Moody!

I continue to be amazed at the way you can read multiple books at a time. I have tried, but can only keep one storyline straight at a time.

I finished RASPBERRIES AND VINEGAR by Valerie Comer and then SECRETS OF SUNBEAMS also by her. I hadn't realized they were by the same author (and crossed into the same literary world) until characters from the first book were mentioned in the second. The first book was maybe a 4. The heroine was just so annoying, I almost stopped reading it several times. I can't remember the name of the book I'm reading right now - I'll come back later and update - but it's MUCH better; having more depth to the subject matter and the characters.

I decided to stop the Glitch Society one until I figure out what she is talking about when she mentions Nephilim. Nephilim are a people group who were "giants" which can also mean "mighty men". The same word is used to describe David's might men. Goliath was a giant but no mention is ever made that perhaps he was birthed by a fallen angel and a woman. Nowhere in the passage about the Nephilim are fallen angels mentioned. The sons of God were those who followed the Law of God; the women of men were the daughters of those who did not follow the law - that simple. Men, not angels. Angels aren't a race so they have no need for procreation. They do not marry or are given into marriage. Why would any woman want to "breed" with a demon??? Okay, that's my two cents!

I'm on the next in the Unchartered series (book 8) I believe it's UNCHARTED JOURNEY, the one about Sybil and Isaac. Sybil is a bit teenagerish acting, but I'm not sure of her age. Her older sister is around 29, and there is at least one other sibling between them, so she could be as much as 24 or so, but she has that giddy feelings for Isaac and all these dreams about their life together and she doesn't even know if he likes her.

Pretty much still working on the same stories.

I've heard of that one but haven't read it yet.

I'm almost finished with one of my fantasies, got to a good part and stayed up until a little after 1, but didn't end up finishing!

I finished my Missionary bio about Charles Mulli, an African boy in Kenya whose family basically left him behind to fend for himself. He becomes a very wealthy man through various enterprises and decides to give it all up to help give street kids a chance. He ended up helping several thousand kids throughout the 1970's to the early 2000's. His story didn't have an ending where he passed away, so not sure if he's still alive! Here's a link to information about him and his ministry:

I always enjoy Heidi Chiavaroli and Michelle Shocklee!

Currently I am working through The Wright Brothers of Maine series by Robin Patchen. I am currently on FINDING YOU #3. I have been doing some through YouTube and some through hoopla. I think they are still available KU, too. This one starts in Maine, but is also in Germany. Book #2 was partially out of country, in Iran and Turkey.

I'm enjoying THE CHRISTMAS BOOK FLOOD by Roseanna White. It's a light read that takes place in Iceland during WWII which was under the United States at the time. Huge difference between Iceland and the areas taken over by the Germans. It takes place in a Publishing Company.

I'm on book 10, UNCHARTED COURAGE. I wasn't into book 8, the one about Sisly and Isaac and ended up skipping book 9 about Naomi and James and went right to the book about Baily again!

I finished AUGMENTED the last book in a fantasy series, it was alright.

I skimmed through, rather skipped through much of GLITCH SOCIETY: THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD which was a re-take on The Wizard of Oz.

I'm enjoying WORD OF HONOR by Hallee Bridgeman, book 2 in that series.

I read GIRL LOST by Kate Angelo. It was a really good suspense. I am currently reading through some LI and LIS books. I am going to lose 15 books a month on my hoopla. I haven't used Bill's account since he passed, but I guess I need to report it. I will miss those books. The other library doesn't have as good of a selection, but with the 15 from my card, the 7 from the other library, Libby and audible, I can stay busy, I'm sure.

I am reading the anthology of suspense thrillers Don't Blink. I actually pre-ordered this anthology of 12 CF thrillers. I am getting through them, but keep loosing interest. That's hard on a thriller, but they are too short and don't develop the stories well enough. I am determined to get through it because I actually pre-ordered due to some really good authors. I should know better when each story is a bit less than 100 pages.

I finished a boxed set by Lyn Cote. These were former Love Inspired books (except the last one) that she got the rights back to. They were pretty good. I will look up more of her books on audible.

I didn't like the first story in DON'T BLINK at all. I'm getting ready to start book two.

    I'm on UNCHARTED GRACE.

I finished my missionary bio re-read of William Carey.

I have bits and pieces of several of other stories, not getting into any of them. I'm struggling with ENIGMA GIRLS just because it's more informational than a story line.

I think I said earlier that I was reading a series of "Marrying… (Brides of Clearwater)" books by Melanie Snitker. First there was MARRYING MANDY, then MARRYING RAVEN, then MARRYING CHRISSIE, which I finished last night. I downloaded MARRYING BONNIE this morning. They're all different enough that I haven't gotten bored.

Kim- I think it is easier to tell you my least favorite...the circus one with the elephant on the cover. The next less favorite would be the Barlow Boys one. They are all good, though. They always appear kind of spooky, but it resolves.

I wasn't crazy about DON’T BLINK. I think there were too many too short novellas.

Currently I am listening to books by Lyn Cote. There have been a bunch on Audible freebies.

    I finished reading

ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Melody Carlson. I really liked this one.
