Good Morning Shoppers... 😎
I actually did a bit of extra work back and bicep work when I got home last night... Got to try out my landmine and fancy pants multiuse handle for the first time. Loved it. Nothing crazy mind you, just 5 sets of standing Landmine Rows and then 5 sets of Hammer Dumbbell Curls. It sure helped elevate my flagging energy yesterday.
Then after supper it was time to try out the new massager, and holy snap crackle does this thing every work. 56 pound stall force. Mean's it can literally rattle your skull so be careful where you point it. lol. But damn if it doesn't feel amazing on various muscle masses. Apparently they work great at waking up and warming up muscles prior to a workout. They reduce DOMS and even help avoid it used post workout. They disperse lactic acid build up in muscles post workout, and help speed up muscle recovery time. And if it matters, it's whisper quiet and comes with a life time warranty. 🥳👍
IT"S FRIDAY!!! It was a tough one, and I for one and glad it's almost over. 👍😀
Decided to go for a walk this morning, with Lynn hot on my heels... But I wouldn't let her little legs get past me. I would pull ahead on the flat stretches as I slogged, and she would catch up somewhat on the hill section... I only did 4 laps though, as it's LEG DAY later, and I'm expecting it to be a real grunter and groaner. 😋
I did do 5 minutes on the elliptical after the walk though, and then I forgot to turn the Fitbit off once I got back to the bedroom... So, the burn you see includes me getting undressed, jumping in the shower and washing my sweaty *kitten* (and the rest of me bits). 😆😊
I'm already dreading the Deadlifts tonight... 260 pounds tonight. Can I hit 10 reps? Maybe I shouldn't have done some Standing Bent over Landmine rows last night because it definitely took something out of my lower back going into Deads today. I guess were going to find out. 😐😳😆😀
And for flex Friday, here's one from me and Lynn... Keep in mind it's difficult to fit all our muscles in the same frame, so we tried to squeezed them in as best as our short arms would allow. 😁😄😉

The kids had their last day of summer camp. I went to the lake while they were there and did 5 miles. Won't get to do that for the next couple of weeks until the kids start school. Will still try to meet early with dad though on the days he can. Also got the grocery shopping done yesterday as mom didn't want to go today when she has the girls. Besides helping my grandma get to an eye appt, I don't have anything going on today!2 -

2 days ago I decided to get new shorts. Mine are getting super baggy. My old ones are 54 inch and it looked like I could get 50. I grabbed a 2x and a 48. They both fit nicely. That puts me at my thinnest since 1995. I was so happy I high 5'ed my daughter in the store. I also measured my feet and i went from 15 extra wide to 14 1/2 wide. I will have to get 15 still, but just wide now.5 -

Leg day has come and legs have been tortured! I can now mentally relax a little for the weekend. lol
Strange day for sure...
FIRST OFF its 7:30pm and my Fitbit is telling me my Resting heart rate is 69 today... (Settle down... 🤦♂️ 😄) Not only is that better than my previous best, it's better by 2. I'm living in the 60's man! YAAAAAAHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO! 🎉🎉🎊🎉
So that's worth celebrating in and of itself, right? 🙂 RIGHT! 😁
As for the Hex Bar Deads... Maybe I'm making excuses but I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have done 5 sets of Landmine Rows last night, cause it's much more a lower back exercise then the Bench based Bent over DB rows which is more mid upper back. Cause I was definitely feeling a little week in the lower back getting to the point I drive more so with the legs. Sure, I moved up 20 pounds, but it was extremely tough. Rep counts looked like this...
260 lb x 7 reps
260 lb x 4 reps (just came to stop and could not get past it).
250 lb x 7 reps The last rep was an extremely slow my god what am I doing kind of rep. So, I feel pretty good all in all. 💪
So, I'm going stay there next week... But on Thursday I'll do some extra back and bicep work that doesn't hit my lower back. And we will see what happens. 😉
Other than that, Leg Extensions were great, moved up 10lb and still handled them great. I'll slow down and only move up 5 next week. 😁 Leg curls were hard, but I expected that (and I did move up going into today). Shoulder shrugs were fantastic at 220lb for 15 reps... I even held the 15th rep for like 10 seconds on the final set for fun. And incidentally grip is fine throughout even for the 260 pounds deads. (No straps, hooks or other grip assistance required yet).
And calf raises are always a fun way to complete the day.
So... Great workout still I figure. Finish up, clean up, put all the weights away etc. Go upstairs eat supper, then double check my MFP nutrition...
AND GUESS WHAT? I accidently entered my entire breakfast in my vitamins and minerals section this morning instead of vitamins and minerals... and it was like that all day. 500+ calories I never actually ate today.... No wonder I was confused I barely had that much food today.... NO wonder I had noticeably less energy going into the workout... I should have packed in an additional 500 cals leading into this workout, and a much higher fat percentage then I had today. So, there you go, now I have 2 excuses for having a tough go on the deadlifts? Who knows for sure, but I definitely made a boo-boo there?
On the bright side, I just stuffed 30 grams of Protein Puffs (Nacho Flavour) down my gullet. I added 61 grams of amazing ice cream to dessert, and I'm about to have a peanut butter cup and still come in pretty low as far as a double workout day goes. 😁🥳😀😎
Lynn was great hitting her squat sets like a pro at the new higher weight... And on her final set she literally did an extra rep on the final set, in honor of Tahlia... I *kitten* you not, she basically yelled it out and told me I better let you all know. So there it is 🙃. I think my beautiful lady, may just be in love with another woman. Thankfully she has high standards in Tahlia. 😉
So that's it... Lynn is going to the island (Manitoulin) tomorrow for the entire day and not returning till Sunday. So, it's party time for me! I can do whatever I want to, and no one can stop me. lol. My only hard-boiled task is, bringing my son to get his second shot tomorrow. Then stopping at Mcdonalds for him on the way home, and not eating anything at MacDonald's. (I can do it. I can do it.).
Other than that, perhaps I'll do some Heavy Bag? Okay enough yacky yacky. Have an amazing weekend my friend, and remember the long game. PEACE 🤗🤗🤗

This is a big loss for me. I had good steps last week and worked on my water intake. I needed this after finding out the other day I didn’t get a job that sounded promising. Oh well I will keep moving forward. Made a yummy dinner last night skinnytaste honey balsamic chicken and veggies on the grill.

Out of the blue a nasty sore throat appeared yesterday and is hurting quite a bit this morning. Seems my overall recovery will be extended another day or so. I did not sleep well at all last night. On a more positive note, the scale is moving in the right direction and am less than a pound from where I started before the weekend.
Sounds like time for a hot toddy! Glad the scale decided to behave.

Too not much exciting but did take the kids to volunteer at an awesome organization that helps kids that we used to go annually prior to covid. Last summer with the covid rules my son was too young. Good to switch it up and give back.
I love the days when I am so busy and no time for snacking. I do feel like I am definitely doing less snacking hope it lasts since that is 100% my downfall.4 -

Another quiet day, spent mostly inside due to the heat. Scale was really nice to me this morning which made me happy. Also received my latest order of Built bars. They are protein bars but taste like candy bars and most of them are 130 calories. They satisfy my sweet tooth while fitting into my daily calories.
Looks like I was being overly optimistic thinking I would be healed in August. This steroid is really slowing down healing. At least, see the Endocrinologist next week. Morning dizziness is starting to get better and arms are healing now that steroid dosage was cut.

My baby turns 2 on Sunday! So we have a weekend of festivities and I plan to indulge within reason. At any rate, I'll be kicked out of ketosis which means 1-3lbs of water weight. Hopefully, it'll drop back off before next weigh-in. I can't believe this little firecracker is two already!

Congratulations on another decrease in heart rate. You are getting fitter! Great workout! I have lived In Ontario 22 years now and I haven’t got to visit many places. Manitoulin Island is supposed to be beautiful. I would love to go sometime. I hope Lynn enjoys her visit. Do you go to a speciality store to buy lots of the foods you eat such as protein puffs?

Those reminders to move are driving me insane. I am having an issue with my Fitbit. It continuously viberates when I am on the phone indicating I have an active call. I missed two of my reminders when I was on a the phone. I just thought it was the Fitbit being stupid. Going to try and fix the Fitbit today.
Of course, the scale was down today. That’s surprising as I did have shawarma fries for supper with my granddaughter. Glad I got that out of my system. They weren’t that great and they are expensive. Anyways, I had to be holding water yesterday. I did use the salt shaker a couple of times on Wednesday and Thursday. No more salt for me!
We are off grocery shopping in a few. My oldest granddaughter will be here all days so I am not sure what we will be up to today.

Steps - 4800. I was short when I went to pick up daughter so I did 2 laps around the store parking lot. I'm not dying on that hill anymore.
Calories 1336. I ate even meals. Couldn't do it again. 10 calories between high and low counts. Didn't realize it until I put in my dessert. Good part is that i was full after each.
Exercise - none. I gave my back another day off even though it stopped hurting.
@Poobah1972 clothing does get expensive for us big people. I have gone from 6x to 2x in shirts. I have sized out of shirts in 4 months.3 -

Holy Whoosh! I definitely wanted a loss this week after stalling out last week. I wasn't expecting anything like that though!
Yesterday I met my dad for a walk in the morning because he got home from his trip Thursday night. Then I took my grandma to her eye doctor, which took way longer than I expected. For dinner I made a new recipe for a lower calorie Pad Thai that turned out fabulous. Then I went to bed early. The kids went to bed, my husband had plans, and I was tired so, lol.

So many frustrations. It’s such a bummer to see the scale like that, and on top of that I didn’t get my steps in. I definitely took a little too much advantage of those last days of summer. On 7/23, j couldn’t stand it anymore, and jumped on the treadmill for an hour and a half!
Even though I’m frustrated with numbers, I am still trying to find my NSVs. Here’s what I’ve come up with:
- When I’ve eaten big, heavy meals - it’s my only meal for the day. I haven’t been eating just to eat, or because “it’s time to eat.”
- I made myself get on the treadmill to get some movement in. I didn’t give up, quit, or let “vacation brain” take over permanently.
- My clothes are still fitting better than they have been in the past
- Next week I get back into “work mode,” so I will be extra motivated to walk throughout the day.
- Overall, even though things aren’t going super awesome right now, it’s still better than where I was when I started this journey at 179.6 lbs.
On a side note, I meant to post the Spider-Man cookies I made for my nephew’s 4th birthday! We made little ice cream sandwiches, and these are the handmade tops. So stinkin cute, if I do say so myself! 🙃❤️

Good Morning... Well Evening now. 😋
Lynn has left the building.. Party time has arrived.
So, what did I decide to do with my free time this morning? How's going toe to toe with the heavy bag for a full 15 rounds... 3-minute rounds, with 1 minute rest in between. (Actual boxing regulation timings).
Surprisingly, it wasn't too bad, then again no one was punching or kicking me back. I just downloaded an app, set the number of rounds and the time per round, and rest time and WAMMO... I Was throwing fists and knees to some pretty good tough guy boxing music. 3 minutes wasn't so long I couldn't put my dukes and fight it out, but I was definitely glad the rounds were over when the bell rang. Whew. 😃👍💪. Also, the rounds individually go by fast enough that it kind of makes an hour sooner than it should. Although I was playing mind games, and thought I would stop at round 10, then 12, but by I was in round 13 I knew I wasn't stopping till it was over.
I guess I worked my gloves in enough during my first 2 bouts, to actually be able to wear my Gel Hand wraps in my gloves today. So, my hands and wrists were fully protected. But by the 5th round, my index fingers on both hands were completely asleep, and the rest of my fingers were also starting to tingle.. At one point I even paused the fight pulled off my gloves and checked my wrist wraps which were fine. I'm pretty sure it's just squeezing the gel hand wrap into the glove and then beating on the bag which was the problem. I suspect as I loosen up the glove a bit more with use, it will probably get better? Either way, no harm done I just kept on fighting.
The last 3 rounds were definitely tough... I found myself looking at the clock a little more often. And keeping busy the entire time started to feel like a lot of work. 😰 lol I think I started the last round with 30 knees' just to take a big bite out of the time. But knee's burn energy. 👍🙃
This is officially my single largest one time burn to date and according to Fitbit I earned 119 zone minutes. It would be nice If I can get some sort of jug of water, I can hang from my rack somewhere with a straw in it.. Cause it was impossible to drink anything. I need a corner person damn it. 😉
Post workout, I marched right upstairs and heated up my chicken wings..... SO GOOD! *Thanks Baby*
Okay.... I better get my *kitten* moving again. Going to watch a Show with my bro, have an afternoon nap. Then I still gotta do this morning's dishes (even though I cooked an amazing french toast breakfast for my fiancé... Hows that work you ask? Don't she's too cute to get mad at, I've tried and it I just can't do it. 😜

Manitoulin is a laid back kind of place... And it definitively has sights to see, sights I will be healthy enough to go see myself some day zoom when hiking for prolonged periods sounds like fun.
Popeye's supplement store carries the twin peaks protein puffs and quest chips for a decent enough price. They just had a buy 1 get 50% off sale recently and I loaded up a bit. But I should of really should of loaded up more. They also carry some products we like... But the Joseph's products we get at Paris Natural Foods. Although I believe walmart carries it.
Then the rest of the stuff, we put in bulk orders at www.lowcarbcanada.ca and generally get free shipping and 10% off everything.
