I’m actually up a pound just from yesterday. It was my birthday and I took advantage of a few birthday meals so I’m not surprised that I’m up today. But yesterday was my lowest weight in like 28 years so I’m ok with that!
This week’s NSVs: I’ve been shopping for new clothes this week and I actually purchased a few things in a large! Even though the weight is moving slowly, I am noticing a change. My body doesn’t feel as squishy. So I assume that I am trading muscle for fat.
But my sleep has been off this past week. I keep regular hours but I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep. I’ll plan for a brief nap later today and make sure I get my evening walk done. Other than that, I’ll try to keep my carb intake lower this evening to see if that helps too.
Hope y’all have a good weekend!6 -

Yay, lots of great results posted!
@SisuMom2019 I share your pain with meal planning and junky food… previously we were pretty good with meal planning and only going to the grocery store once or twice a week. Then we moved into an apartment that’s a 2-minute walk from a 24/7 grocery store and I got pregnant with severe nausea and randomly changing triggers. Now we go to the store every day and figure out our meals based on what we feel like eating any given day, and my husband honestly sucks at making a shopping list. As a result, yesterday we had halloumi cheese with pasta and ketchup, because he forgot to buy the rest of the ingredients and it was too hot outside to go back to the store. Making a meal plan and sticking to it is something I want to get back to once this baby is born.
My only saving grace with his pizzas is that I find his favorites gross and I have IBS so I need gluten free versions. He’s also pretty good with selecting treats I dislike so I’m not tempted, like the ice cream flavor I hate but he loves. With my pregnancy restrictions he has agreed to keeping all of my favorite stuff out of the house altogether: fancy cheeses, my favorite wines, sushi and so on. If I go out he might get that stuff and enjoy it, but he has agreed to not mention it and leave no trace of those things, and even take out the trash before I come home.
The temperatures are finally dropping a little, which is great so I *may* have the energy to actually do something. It’s not a given, especially considering I had my ferritin levels tested last week and the nurse called, I have pretty severe iron deficiency which causes fatigue and shortness of breath. The recommended values for women here are 15-125 with anything under 30 being cause for alarm, and my number was 13. I got instructions for iron supplements and booked for a second test in a month to see if the levels improve. This is pretty important for both me and the baby, since the baby is taking all of my iron and if I run out, she’ll run out too. So, today I’m going to the pharmacy to find some supplements that are pregnancy-safe and hopefully ok for my stomach so I can actually absorb the iron without too much trouble.4 -
Tummy issue update:
No pain since Wednesday. However, it seems to be portion control related. Yesterday, I was eating a sandwich and noticed 1/2 way through the pain started. I stopped and ate the other half a couple hours later and was fine.
Looks like Mother Nature is tossing me a curveball.3 -
Good morning, I will be skipping this week's weigh-in. My scale decided to pass away. Hope to purchase one soon. Looking online for a decent one.
Have a good day and weekend all!!!3 -

Hey everyone...sorry I've been MIA.
Since returning from vacation it's been one busy day after another.
I've had a couple of bumps...but continue to focus on my healthy habit tracker each day.
AND trying to increase my non starchy vegetable intake.
Hopefully I can lose another 5 pounds this month.
@Beka3695 your post about the water in carbs was VERY helpful. I definitely want to keep that in mind moving forward.

Well another sad week for weight loss. My sister was here so I was eating dinner with the family instead of having my plain chicken breast at 3:00.

Sorry for the late post. It was a very busy week.4 -
I am focusing on maintaining and not reporting losses in July. I got up to 140 and with a little refocus and walking I was back down to 136.7. Might look at August to get to 130. Mind is not there yet. keep up the good work everyone.2

Great losses, and great reflection on some gains!
The last week of summer vacation is here, and it’s shaping up to be a nice week! The weather has cooled down for at least a few days, it’s still nice and summery but the prospect of putting clothes on isn’t daunting. I spent most of last week half-naked in front of a fan blasting me… I also have something fun planned for every single day of this week except tomorrow. I’m scheduled for a glucose screening test tomorrow morning, and I’m not looking forward to it at all - except to be done with it. I have to fast 10 hours before that and I don’t do well with fasting in general, and I’ve already almost passed out twice in the last two weeks. My husband agreed to bring snacks to the clinic when the test is done and walk home with me, so at least I’ll have some support then. The rest of the day is reserved for napping, Netflix and recovery.
Today is a much more fun day - I’m taking a day trip to another town to see my cousin and her 1-year-old and to browse through her old baby stuff for what I want, and then going to dinner with my childhood bestie who works in that town. Other plans this week include getting my nails done, a lil’ pizza party, going to the movies for the first time in almost a year, an easy day hike in the national park and a friend’s baby shower. I’m glad I have so much fun stuff planned for this week so I have less time to stress about going back to work. At least it’s for only 8 weeks and then I’m done with work for about a year!3 -

A little team housekeeping
I don't think I mentioned this earlier this month... but Team Captains and Mods use the "INSIGHTFUL" button to note when a weigh in has been logged to the spreadsheet. Please refrain from using this button on weigh ins. Feel free to use in a general post.
Secondly, I have noticed that the "DISAGREE" button has been used a few times lately and on posts where people have posted nice losses. It seems that maybe it has been hit in error, but has kept happening. Be mindful of this button. Even if hit by accident, it can be hurtful to the original poster. Unlike other threads, we do our best to keep controversial topics from the thread, so the need to use this button here is very limited. If you have an issue with a fellow teammate, please address with @imgwendolyn2015 or myself. TY!!7 -

Wow a couple of seven pound losses! Is that over one week?1

Glucose screening test done! It wasn’t as bad as I feared, and didn’t have any issues with passing out. I guess the last two times were due to the heat wave, I’m really happy today was a cooler day. Now I feel almost back to normal after two snacks and a nap. I was too anxious about the test itself earlier, but now I can start stressing about the results. I really hope I don’t have gestational diabetes.5

@Anniesquats100 - I hadn’t noticed those big losses but I agree that’s a lot of weight to lose in one week!
Congratulations to all the individual winners! I’m so impressed that the Shrinking Assets team has been on the ‘top three’ leader board so consistently. Great work! 🤩4 -
YAY the results came in quickly, I’m clear! No diabetes! I could do a little happy dance.11

Hi guys!
I feel like I’m only complaining this month. I feel like crap on a cracker today. Not sure if it is due to no cardio the last 2 days or what. I did have a few drinks Saturday, but today is TUESDAY!!!! I only did housework Sunday, I did yoga yesterday, but no cardio. I was on a 12 day streak before Sunday.
I’m thinking about forcing myself to go for a slow walk after I finish my food prep and see if that helps.
What do you do when you feel super run down?3 -

When I'm feeling run down I listen to my body. Rest, hydrate and some self care/love. A nice mosey around the block wont hurt but if you're not feeling it, then don't There are better days to bust booty than when you're feeling yucky. A bubble bath, some Gatorade in a wine glass and my fuzzy slippers would be a perfect ending to your kind of day
Feel better chica!5
