Cyclones go up to a Category 5 (which is the strength of Hurricane Katrina). Cyclones are what we call Hurticanes. They spin in the opposite direction to Hurricanes, being in the Southern Hemisphere. They often cover vast areas and Cyclone Alfred is no different. The storm is almost as long as California right now. We do have alphabetical names for Cyclones, alternating between boy and girl names. We do get inland twisters (sometimes called willy willies) but much of inland Australia is not heavily populated so they don't tend to do as much property damage. Most of Australia's people live along the coast of the continent, so Cyclones and water spouts affect many more people. We don't have a Tornado Alley like you do in the US. Inland twisters can pop up anywhere. We do have terrible fires like you have in California and there can be fire storms that are terrifying. Awful Floods happen too. We're known as a land 'of drought and flooding rains'....
Linda, sorry to hear of the terrible loss your friend has had. Glad you and Glenn could comfort her. It would have been a delight to see your grandchildren in a play. Life is full of sunshine and shadows.
Barb, I have trouble remembering about potty training too. I can't add to Linda's suggestions, I'm sorry, other than I remember being involved with a mother's group at the time. All the little ones kind of noticed about potty training at the same time and copied each other a bit. That actually helped, I think.
Judith, I am thinking about you and praying for you.

Linda. My mom was wondering that too due to Annabella though she 🦋 was never potty trained. Right now stickers are not working or a high 5. I used cloth, diapers which I think makes it easier. Plus, you had panties terry cloth that had a plastic cover. You can’t get them anymore as they have pull ups. The disposable do keep, one so dry compared to cloth. I’m praying.
Sorry about your friend that is nice you brought over a meal. We have another funeral to attend tomorrow morning from our old church he was 96 & a widower.
So happy spring fall meteorologist tomorrow now for Susan.
Susan. Thank you for all the info on cyclones. I knew you had them instead of hurricanes. That’s neat opposite wind direction & named make or female names.
We also, will use the Greek alphabet after we get to Z. So it sounds like it’s similar. Thank you.
Enjoy your weekend.
Good news my mom got her package today!!! The food was all ok me she got to treat herself tonight. So ll good!, thank you for the
prayers. We were 70* today & it will be in the 40’s tomorrow. Closer to normal temps.
I cleaned 2 windows since it was so nice. I’ll have to wash curtains but may wait till warmer weather days.
Judith. Praying for you as I’m sure you are very tired. Prayers you had some good news. If not remember God is in control. He loves us all & every day gets us closer to heaven.
Craft morning went well & I was encouraged to start my day with some stretches. Something I’ve not done on our bed sitting up. I do practice balancing every day when I brush my teeth so that’s good.
Stay safe all.
Enjoy the weekend!0 -
Today we spent time with a friend who is a widow and gets very lonely. She is fairly young (63years old) and loves to get out with people. She had a rough marriage but near the end just before her husband died of brain cancer, they had finally worked out their differences. She has a lot of regrets that they were not able to work things out sooner and then have some good years of their marriage. We went out to lunch with her and then talked quite a while about things on her mind.
Susan - thanks for the clarification on Cyclones vs Hurricanes, tornadoes vs inland twisters. We lived in "tornado alley" so we have seen a lot of damage from them first hand. We lived in an area that was surrounded with hills and I remember one time that the tornado just went over the top of us from hill top to hill top and only took off the tops of the trees around us. We were in the basement corner in a safe spot hearing what was going on above us.
Barb - what a relief to know that your package arrived at your mother's place finally. I am glad that the food was not spoiled although it took a long time to get there. I have been looking through dirty windows all winter and considered washing them in the good weather but I know that they will get dirty again. It looks like March will come in like a lamb so I expect we still have quite a few more winter days as it goes out like a lion.
Judith - praying for you today as you recover from your procedures.0 -
Linda, your story about your 3 year old and potty training. You gave me a chuckle. Glad you were able to spend time with your friend who is grieving the loss of her Mom. The situation is hard but I’m sure you were able to encourage her. Thank you for sharing the new ultrasounic Teeth cleaning tool you had done. When I attended my own Dentist they just started using that and it was great but the flow of colder water on your teeth is not pleasant. Sorry it gave you pain.
Susan, I read all your reports about the Cyclone. It sounds so dangerous, you mentioned the possibility of Landfall and of course the high winds and you said you could lose Power. I am praying for you and Colin and your community to be safe. And of course your family. How is Colin doing? Is there still pain? Have you heard from the Cardiologist on any further suggestions on how to help Colin. I continue to keep you both in prayer.
Barb, I am so sorry you are having trouble with potty training Mariposa. She is still young, some train quicker than others. Have you tried Reading a Book to Mariposa while she sits on the Potty?
I did that with my Grandson starting at 19 months and by the time he was a little over 2 he was trained for daytime. It took a few more months for my daughter to get him trained for night but by the time he went to daycare at 3 he was fully trained. He loved reading books and we also sang little songs that kept him amused. When he did pee we’d say in loud voice YAY Good Job You Did it. He was so proud of himself and he would run around the Condo saying Logan did it! I have to say it was cute!
Sorry that I didn’t log on here last night. I logged on MFP and was heading here but I just couldn’t as my body was in pain and I was emotionally spent. I will update you all on my health but need time to take it all in. Thanks for your prayers.
I posted our new Monthly Goals for March. Hope you will join for another successful month. Will say good night 😴 and God Bless! 🙏♥️0 -
Good morning. The Cyclone is still out at sea but is far less threatening. It's va Category 2 this morning g and unlikely to cross the coast till maybe Tuesday. We can go ahead with church and outdoor baptisms today.
Judith, it good to hear from you. I know you will be feeling the effects of Thursday's procedures. Colin is much the same. We'll start the process of getting referrals to more specialists next week.
Linda, wow, living in tornado alley would have been a bit scary. I'm glad you were alright.
Barb, yay that the package fir your Mom finally arrived safely!
I need to ho get ready for church. Take care everyone.1 -
Happy March 1. Meteorologists say it’s spring or fall for Susan. We say spring begins 3/21 per 3/22.
Glad the put down the cyclone threat Susan. Prayers. No power lost.
Trust all have a good day.
I hope by time Mariposa is 3 in July she is potty trained.
Stay well all.
Prayers for you Judith as you recoup from Thursday ordeal.

We were able to celebrate with the angels in heaven today as our granddaughter was baptized today. It was a family affair as our daughter helped with the baptism by holding her shoulders and Glenn and I were watching to make sure her knees and feet did not come up out of the water as she was going down. We had a small group of family and friends with us at the church and then went out to eat at Culvers for lunch. Going out to eat two days in a row added extra calories to my days so I will need to be careful for the next few days so I do not gain weight for my TOPS club on Thursday.
Susan - I am glad that the Cyclone has slowed down and you were able to attend church and have your outside baptisms while the weather was still good. I am praying for the future medical appointments that you will be making with the specialists for Colin.
Judith - Thank-you for posting new March threads. I know that used extra energy to do that and I really appreciate your dedication to this group. We continue to pray for you as you regain your strength and hopefully have less pain as the days go on.
Barb - As several have stated, each child is unique and will develop at the right speed for them. It will take a while for Anabella to have normal esophagus mobility and Mariposa will take a little while to be potty trained. When they are physically and mentally ready it will happen fast. This was true when I was homeschooling the children. If I waited until they had questions about reading or wanted to do what their older sibling was doing, it came very fast also.1 -
Susan, I am rejoicing that the Cyclone has been down graded to Category 2 and a less of a threat to your Community as it once was. I am still praying for your safety for all of your family and community. So happy you are able to enjoy Baptisms and your Church services while the weather holds for you. Continue to pray for Colin and yourself as you start the process of getting referrals to more specialists next week. Praying for open doors and for the Right Specialists will be arranged for Colin to see who will offer the best treatment for Colin. And thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
Linda, so happy you were able to be at your Granddaughters Baptism. Yes I can see the Angels of God Celebrating with you and the whole family watching and being a part of her Baptism! Nice that you all could go out to dinner after the Baptism. A Glorious Day you all will remember as you watched your Granddaughter enter the Waters of Baptism. Thank you for your kindness and comments about my dedication to the team. I totally rely on God’s leading, guidance, wisdom and His Abiding Grace. You and all the Team are so Kind and the Prayer Support you give me so freely helps to keep me Focused and as Strong as possible. God is Good! I will pray for you that the extra Calories won’t hinder a good outcome at your Tops meeting.
Barb, Thanks for your kindness and for your prayers. I know Mariposa will be trained soon. Will keep you and family in prayer. You mentioning Spring gives me that Boost just thinking about warmer weather and the Spring flowers coming up. New Birth and New Life: how I love Spring Time and Harvest. Can’t come soon enough.
Wishing you all a Blessed Coming Lord’s Day! Enjoy your Sunday Services and Time Spent with Family. God’s Blessings on your Coming Sunday!
🙏♥️🤗0 -
Sunday Morning Blessings all
May your day be filled with the Blessings of the Lord! Enjoy your Church Services and time with your families.
Please Note the Following issues with MFP:
I am being censored for posting Devotions, not sure why but when trying to post my New Devotion I was denied, a note came on saying it would be posted once approved.
I tried starting a New Devotion thread it worked for March 1st thread but not permitted for March 2nd. Not sure what is going on. Please pray and I will keep trying to fix the thread.
Thank you for your understanding and your prayers. God Bless0 -
Judith, that's not good about being censored for a devotions thread. What on earth? I hope it is hustva glitch and will be alright again soon. Enjoy your Sunday. Pur services went very well yesterday with nine being baptised. It was such a beautiful day. Yes, the Cyclone has remained at a Category 2 and is now predicted to cross the coast near us on Wednesday. There will likely be a lot of rain and floods. We're safe enough here from floods.
Linda, we see the GP tomorrow and will find out more then about ways forward. Colin is regaining fluid. He has gone from 69kgs to 71kgs this week. We'll have that looked at again. How wonderful about your granddaughter's Baptism. What a lovely day for you all!
Barb, yes, autumn has started here. It still feels like hot summer though and the Cyclone has made everything feel more muggy than usual. It's like autumn happens on paper. Yes, I think Mariposa will be trained soon. Our Inara is 2 and is also fighting being potty trained. It will happen.
I ha e Uke practice this morning and Starlight Singers recommences this afternoon.
0 -
Susan. Prayers as it’s Monday already there that you are finding out why Colin is regaining fluids. Prayers you find out asap. Plus can get the test we have prayed about soon too. Prayers for both of you with all your health issues. Prayers you see the right dr & get all the help, you need quickly. 🙏🏻
Hope the cyclone stays away.
Judith sorry about the post. I love post about the Bible & song we all sang growing up & maybe to our kids. I sing that song to Mariposa with my hands to sign the letters in sign language. I did this to Blake & Evan too. Plus taught them I love you or 🤟
I can’t believe all the censoring, but then when you consider what all is going on & it is satan’s world we shouldn’t be surprised. Many prayers.
You need post March on weight, so, we can record what we weigh each morning or day. Thank you. praying you have kept the 2 ounces or maybe more.
I cannot get the book markers I made off taken away from old months. Oh how we all love MFP.
Linda. So you home schooled your kids. Jean, Blake’s, mom plans on starting that this august as he would be in kindergarten.
So neat about your granddaughter get baptized today. Congratulations on her doing That!!
So neat to see our grandkids grow in learning about God.
We were not as mild today but it was very nice. 70* was to warm. It’s to be 61* tomorrow. I like to wash my winter coat as it’s so dirty with all the cold & snow we’ve had.
We are to get rain Tuesday which will be nice to wash the salt away I hope. We got some white from salt on our front porch. So,I hope that rain will wash it away.
Hope all have a good day. Stay well0 -
Well Satan is at work in our granddaughter's life already. After the baptism, she said that her throat was sore and by bedtime, she was feeling like she was getting a cold. This morning when she woke up she said she was aching all over and just could not go to church. She really was looking forward to going. I know a virus is going around with several of my friends but I was hoping our family would be spared from it. She has tryouts for a part in the play "Legally Blond" for school tomorrow so she is hoping to be able to do that although there is a singing component to the part that she may not be able to do with her cold. After church we started getting ready to go back to Grand Junction. I packed quite a bit of things I could do ahead and did several loads of laundry that needs to be folded and packed when it is dry. If we leave in the morning, we should be able to miss the snow storm that is predicted in the mountains.
Judith - I am so sorry that MFP is giving you problems over your devotions. That is just silly!! I look forward to reading them so I hope it gets fixed soon.
Susan - I hope that the GP was able to give you some help with the reason for Colin gaining water weight again. It is so frustrating to not know what is happening. I am sure the doctors are frustrated also.
Barb - I know what you are talking about when you say you need to get your winter coat washed. With the magnesium chloride on the roads and puddles that splash, I also have white marks on my coat, car and house. Prayers for Maraposa and the adults involved for patience during this potty training.0 -
Thank you for all your comments and your kindness, I tried again and I was BLOCKED again! Not sure why as when I posted about being censored it was posted but next post for Devotions they blocked it. Very strange.
My prayers are with you all. It’s late so I’m off to bed. Good Night God Bless! 😇😴🙏0 -
Linda
Prayers for your grand daughter. Sounds like she has the flu, which is Influenza A. Aches all over. Usually it is short lived. Prayers
Judith. Prayers as you keep trying to post a devotional. So sorry as I’m sure is very frustrating.
Prayers for your health too.
Susan. Prayers for you & Colin. I hope you have seen or there seeing your GP.
Wisdom for drs too.
We know in Gods time& Mariposa ready the potty training will come. Not really doing much. Thank you for all your help & encouragement.
Have a good Monday Tuesday for Susan.0 -
Good Tuesday morning. We head off to our Dr appointments soon.
The Cyclone is still out in the ocean but late today it may turn towards land near us. It won't cross the coast till Thursday or Friday so in preparation we'll be putting away small, light items (especially pot plants) into the garage this afternoon. They can be so damaging and damaged in high winds and heavy rain.0 -
We may have a blizzard tomorrow- Wednesday. Not much snow but wind up to 60-70 mph. With pouring rain tomorrow. The rain will become snow on Wednesday we get a bit of it. With visibility low & lasting over 3 hours with the wind it’s considered blizzard. Our meteorologist here has never seen anything like it the 30 years he’s been here. Many power outages maybe with the wind. No leaves on trees so that’s good tornados maybe.
Plus rain tomorrow most if goes anyway
Prayers for you Susan with maybe cyclones plus all with Colin & your hearing
Did you see or hear from Colin’s Dr?
Stay safe all

PS. My winter coat got washed oh it smells so much better! May need it Wednesday as 38* high. Near 60* today & Tuesday/tomorrow.0

We made it over the mountain to Grand Junction safely. We left early because there was a snow storm scheduled to happen at 11am but it was only cloudy when we went through that area. We did have some rain for 45 minutes about 1 hour away from getting home. The storms are so unpredictable in the mountains especially when there is wind that can change the course of the storm as it did. When I got here I had to do some degreasing of jeans, socks and shoes for Glenn. When he was packing the truck he hit a shelf in the garage that held some of my oil for my oil lamps. One bottle n(it was plastic) fell off the shelf and broke and the oil got all over his clothes and on the floor. The garage reeked with the smell and his clothes were also pretty smelly. I sprayed them liberally with degreaser and washed them in really hot water. They still have a faint smell so I hung them outside to see if the sun and wind will take the rest of the smell away. We had a zoom elders meeting and I had a phone call after that so I am done with the day and look forward to my nice warm bed.
Barb - I am praying for you safety as you anticipate the snow storm in your area. I am glad that your family was safe from the earthquake too.
Susan - I am glad that the storm is still out in the ocean and gives you a little time to protect your property. How did the appointments for Colin go?0 -
Evening Hello All
This is about the Earthquake here in BC today:
The News reported it today, and it occurred at 5:00am Pacific Time Zone. The Earthquake was a 4.1 and involved Victoria BC, parts of the Island, Washington State, Vancouver, BC and in various places of the Lower Mainland felt the shaking, I live in the North and did not feel it but my friend who lives near me did. This is the 2nd Earthquake in 2 weeks here in BC. Please pray for the Families who live closer to the Epicentre. Thank you all. 🙏0 -
'Morning all. Cyclone Alfred is moving in. We're kind of directly in its path as the winds will whip us good. The strength of the wind will be towards land. We've done prep work, putting small pot plants in the garage, bringing anything loose or likely to get saturated inside, cleaning up as best we can. We have restocked groceries and fuel for the generator. We've battened down the caravan by closing all vents and just have to hope for the best with it as they don't provide tie down rings in the concrete where it is stored. I'll fill some containers with water. We have gas in the BBQ and plenty of candles and batteries. The wind and rain is expected to be strong. We could lose power and water and housing here is not built to Cyclone standards like it is in Far North Qld. Here is a satellite image, colour enhanced, from a few minutes ago. The Cyclone is expected to cross the coast tomorrow (Thursday)afternoon or in the early morning hours of Friday. It is already overcast and a bit windy. You can see that the span of the storm is wide. The east coast of Australia is roughly the same length of the west coast of the US. I drew where we live.
Anyway. We have done what we can. Now we watch and wait. We have not had a Cyclone in our area for 50 years. They normally take place well north of us.
As for Colin, the GP is testing him for something related to lung cancer. He had a scan done this morning with a dye. It is supposed to show any blockages in his chest and neck. She said he was due for a bone density scan too so we got that done. She referred him to a pulmonary specialist. She said I need to see an ENT for my ears. Apparently going deaf on one side is unusual. She approved me getting a hearing aid. Such a fun day. Not. At least we are getting things checked. The specialist appointments will happen sometime in the distant future. Their waiting lists are long.
I hear you all on the earthquakes, blizzards and storms. There was an earthquake in Townsville last week which is very unusual. Do we know more about these things due to the sensitivity of our modern day weather instruments, or are they really increasing? 🤔 I just don't know.
Take care, everyone. 🙏
1 -
Susan. Prayers for you. Sounds like you are having similar weather to what I will be hanging. It rained most of the day. Up in Nebraska already they are having winds of 70 mph. It’s heading my way. The rain is to turn to wet heavy snow while we sleep.
We will be hanging wind the speed of a hurricane. We probably won’t get much snow but with the wind & snow blowing visibility might be low. Most of the storm but wind over by morning rush.
praying you can see a ENT for your hearing we will pray. For Colin and the testing for lung cancer. I hope you can get the pulmonary dr asap. Thogh that probably won’t be. In God’s time
I’ve not heard anything about the sensitivity of weather instruments. Just that they are better & sharper than they use to be as we can see when we think a tornado might happen. That is real nice since I live in tornado alley. Then we have microbursts which are not tornadoes but very strong winds.
prayers you don’t lose power. We don’t have a generator to a garage. So 🙏🏻ing no trees fall as we have that possibility too tonight. All while we sleep.
praying for you & thank you for the map of where you live.Judith. Prayers for you and all you compulsion more earthquakes.
Linda. Hope you had a good safe day.
Our high after being in the 60’s will be in the 30’s tomorrow.
Stay safe all.1 -
Well, this new format looks much simpler but I really liked what they took out. It will take a little time to get used to it. I still need to do some unpacking but with two bible studies I ran out of time. Right now some things are piled on the study room bed to be put away tomorrow. At least I can close the door and no one could see them on the bed.
Susan, prayers for safety of your house, belongings and vehicles from the winds of the cyclone. Also for results of the tests for Colin and the possibility of lung cancer. Could his chest pain be caused by cancer? I am glad that they are looking at various things and eliminating things.
Barb - prayers for the weather that will be coming your way. I heard they closed the interstate we were driving yesterday today due to whiteout snow conditions and several accidents.
Judith - I am glad that you were not affected with the earthquake. Prayers for those who were closer to the epicenter.

Evening Hello All
it seems we all are getting “Wild” weather in every area of where we live. I can’t remember ever having 2 Earthquakes within 2 weeks of each other. And we have had such High Wind Storms this year too and last. The heavy rain and flooding has been a concern. The good think the past 2 days during daytime we didn’t get rain but we did over night. Today mostly cloudy but mid afternoon we had a sprinkle of sunlight. Almost forgot what it was like.
Susan, praying for you that your area won’t be affected with the Cyclone Winds, glad you put things away and prepared with propane for your barbeque and extra groceries. Praying for your safety & protection my friend. Praying for Colin as you now await the results of the scans and tests. It’s good they are covering all bases to rule things out so they know what is going on so Colin can be treated in the best way. Praying for you about your ear that has gone deaf. Yes it’s good they are referring you to an ENT Specialist and they approved you for a hearing aide. I continue to pray.
Barb, praying for your safety with the Storms that are coming your way. Your temps are sure changing especially tomorrow as they expect 30 degrees. Stay warm and stay safe my friend.
Linda, glad you are home and got unpacked, at least most of it. With 2 Bible Studies that would keep you so busy. Thank you for your comments on the earthquake, yes it’s so strange having 2 of them within 2 weeks of each other. I meant to say the one earthquake I didn’t feel the shaking but I head a Loud Bang that startled me out of my sleep. So I guess I experienced some of it. The ones living near the epicentre did not have any damage. That is what the news said.
Take care all! Prayers for your safety! Be back tomorrow in the late evening or afternoon!
Good Night 😴 God Bless! 🙏🤗

Susan. Praying you made out ok with the cyclone. Is it still raining there & windy? Stay safe. I pray you made out ok and your friends..🙏🏻🙏🏻
Prayers you can get a ENT visit soon & good deal, with hearing aid if you need them. Prayers you get news about all Colin’s tests about lung cancer much wisdom for doctors too 🙏🏻
Judith. Praying for you and all the rain you are getting. Have you felt any earthquakes? I remember feeling one which shook my dishes in my china closet. Prayers.
plus wisdom for drs concerning your health & all. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Linda. So glad you are unpacked. Hoping you get any study you may need for your 2 Bible studies you are in. Prayers for you & Glenn
Well, we did not lose power PTL!
Thank you all for your prayers!!The sun did come out this afternoon. We had about a good 1” of ice from the rain that fell before the snow came. We had lots of wind & I hardly got any sleep I kept waking up every 45 minutes 1 hour. I’m sure due to, the wind. The wind stayed with us though it wasn’t 60-70 mph which we had while we slept.
We did make it to Kaleidoscope; with Jean daughter, Blake & Evan it is Hallmarks craft activities for kids free. It was fun day. I hope you enjoyed the pics.So now tomorrow I’ll watch Mariposa.
I hope all are staying well & healthy.1 -
The thing about Cyclones is that they are often slow moving and long lived. This one did a little circular dance last night out in the ocean. Some people are predicting it will lose strength, others that it will gain strength and monster up the coast like this:
We live just north of Brisbane and our son Shaun lives near Maroochydore. One of my brothers, Mick, a self-proclaimed hermit, lives on an island directly under the Cyclone track map. He is trapped there now as no ferries are working. He is nearly blind, built his house from a kit and it isn't cyclone proof or insured. Argh. I have been keeping in touch by phone and text and at least he knows where the shelter is if he needs it. Winds are supposed to be gusting at up to 120kms/75miles per hour today.
The power flickered off and on last night but we didn't lose it for long. The Cyclone land fall is now supposed to be happening on Friday. Right now it's sunny and not too windy. Go figure.
Barb, your blizzard sounds hazardous and I hope you don't get a tornado. Tornados can form inside Cyclones. I hope we don't get one either. The pictures of the grandchildren are so cute. We had twins born yesterday in our family, a boy and a girl. My nephew is their proud daddy. I won't meet them till we can travel up to Townsville one day (1351kms/839miles from us), but my sister sent me information that all is well. Thank you for praying about us.
Judith, praying the earthquakes will cease and you won't get any damage. Thank you for praying for us. I hope you get news about your tests soon.
Linda, glad all your travels and studies are working out well. Yes, if Colin has lung cancer it could be causing chest pain and breathlessness and swelling. We'll have to wait and see what they find.
Take care, everyone. I am thinking of you all and holding you in prayer.
1 -
I am so sad that the rest of you are having such serious weather. It was sunny and warm here. We do have our times of bad weather so I am just waiting for things to change for us too. We took a walk downtown when we went to the library and to get my ring cleaned. The jewelry store wanted to upgrade my center diamond for only $1000 but we decided to forgo the extra money it would cost. The diamond has lasted for 52 years and it will be fine for a while. We have other things that are more important to use our money for.
Barb - loved the pictures. It looks like a fun place to play and explore. I have had nights like you had last night with wind whistling around the corners of the house keeping me awake. It sounds like a dangerous situation with rain turned into ice then the snow. I pray that you stay safe during this time. I'm glad that you did get some sunshine and less wind during the day.
Susan - thanks for keeping us informed for the cyclone with pictures. It does help to see where you are in relation to where the cyclone is compared to you. Prayers for Colin's ongoing health issues.
Judith - I'm glad that you have had a break in your rain and that there does not appear that there was damage from the earthquake. Did you get the biopsy results yet?
1 -
Susan, I am praying for your safety, trusting the cyclone when on land won’t come anywhere near your home or community and that no tornado is formed within the cyclone. Stay safe my friend. I understand that It is hard to sleep when you have wind whirling around your house. Glad you got a little break from wind and rain with some sunshine during the day. I am concerned for your brother that you said is a self proclaimed hermit. He is in a dangerous situation with no ferries running so basically he is trapped on the Island, so glad you have let him know where he can go for safe shelter. I am hoping the test results come back quickly regarding tests for lung cancer or at least discover what is going on with the pain in chest and breathlessness Colin experiences. Praying for effective treatment! Congratulations on the birth of Twins a Girl and Boy your Nephews children. So happy they are doing well.
Barb, love the pictures of Blake and Evan, looked like they so enjoyed their time at the Hallmark Craft Acrtivity place. Looked like the boys were having fun with arts and crafts. They have such sweet faces. Sorry about your tornado weather with the high winds rain and the ice formed from the rain and your snow. You said you are watching Mariposa tomorrow. Hope the weather is calm. Glad you had less rain and wind earlier in the day. Stay Safe my friend!
Linda, I will have an update for you soon, trying to get my head around everything. I was on the phone all morning back and forth with Neurologist putting in a referral and then gave me an appointment for April. I am at Cancer Clinic Friday and see my oncologist who I see every 3 months. I am back to my Surgeon next Thursday.
Thank you all for your prayers. Be back tomorrow. Good Night & God Bless
0 -
Susan Thank you for the map, it really helps explain it well. I know a bit about cyclones, from my ddil as her folks live in Hong Kong prayers for you and fora your son too.
Congrats on your nephew with twin boyu and giril. Our niece had a baby boy Tuesday. It is her first. I'll probably send a baby sweater that I make.. I have made probalby 100 of them. They have a hood and zip up the back. I make it now with double ended knitting noodles on the sleeves so there is no seam in the sleeves.
Praying that you find out about lung cancer soon for Colin or what all is going on, and you can get a ENT appointment soon too. I get a free hearing test on Friday with the Covid study I am in. So I'll get paid too.Judith prayers for you Prayers with your Friday, tomorrow at the Cancer treatment. Praying that you can enjoy a normal diet too sometime soon. Plus for the referral in April.
Linda, It's nice that you missed out in all the weather we had west of you. I will say with March sunshine the little snow we had and rain that became ice when temps dropped Wednesday/Thursday melted by yesterday afternoon.
We are to get clouds later today but temps will be climbing.
We get near 50* today and wamer for the weekend.
All stay safe and healthy.
Prayers for all.1 -
Well, we're still waiting for Alfred to move in on the coast. They now say it will cross the coast near us late tomorrow morning. We'll see. I put a forecast map in the prayer thread. People feel like they have waited too long for the impact. Then the rain and wind will stay around for a few days after it becomes a rain depression.
Congratulations on your new baby in the family, Barb. I like the sound of your baby sweater.
Judith, I hope the Drs have a way forward for you. 🙏 Thank you for caring about us. My brother is OK but he lost power at midnight. His island is right in front of the Cyclone right now. We are all getting some wind and rain from it today. Here is today's satellite image. The islands in front of the Cyclone to the west are where Mi C k lives. Shaun lives near Maroochydore and we're living in between the two places. People on the south side of Alfred are really getting lashed, flooded and have lost power.
If we lose power, it will likely be for 3 - 4 days.
Linda, thank you for praying also. I don't blame you for not wanting to spend money on the ring, but can also understand you thinking about it. There's no more news for Colin yet.

A little light relief to show how people feel about now 😉
