    • Fruit Vegetables

Zawngtah is an Indian fruit with various names, such as bitter beans or stink beans. These beans have a flat, long shape, resembling almonds in size and flavor.

Interestingly, they also possess a distinct mushroom-like aroma. This versatile legume-like fruit goes well with proteins like shrimp, along with garlic, peppers, and other spices.

Zawngtah is commonly used in savory dishes, including stir-fries and Asian delicacies. Furthermore, the seeds can be eaten alone or with the entire pod.

We repeated W, X and Y after I had done Z so I will get us back on track with A again.

A - Apricots The trees are about to bloom and we have frost warnings for the next three days. I hope the trees do not bloom too early. That happened last year and the majority of the crop was ruined.

    U -

    1. Ulu Breadfruit

    ulu breadfruit

Scientific name: Artocarpus altilis or Artocarpus camansi

The first one in this list of fruits that start with U is ulu fruit, popularly known as breadfruit. The scientific genus name suggests that ulu or uru fruit is a sibling of jackfruit, durian, etc. There is a popular legend that this fruit saved the people of Hawaii from the great famine. That’s why you’ll find an extravagant presence of breadfruit in murals, paintings, etc of Hawaii. Micronesian and Polynesian nations also strongly inherit the legacy of breadfruit in their culinary art.
