I had my GGS today who's 4. Thankfully LOL it was a short visit of almost 2 hours. Little kids can RUN!! He's GREAT about stopping because I'll have him run and run in circles as I clap my hands for him. LOL he does love having fun as we all do. I took him to the grocery store ,, not telling him we'd be meeting his Mom there. When we walked in ,,, went over to get him a donut,, he heard her laughing his head SPUN SO FAST we were cracking up!!3 -
Sorry ladies! I posted this morning and then did my work from home thing and then I went out to do some shopping, so did not know I'd left you hanging!
Invisible Apple Cake is one in which you slice the apples super thin (I bought a mandoline for slicing) and add it to a custardy mix. My recipe has it baked in a cheesecake pan. Supposedly, because the apples are sliced so thin they disappear into the custard. I'm making this because my brother asked me to make an apple pie. After I bought all the ingredients, he says that our niece is bringing apple pie and I didn't need to make the pie. I said "I already bought the apples" and he just looks at me and shrugs. It's way more apples than I am likely to get eaten any time soon, so I looked for an alternative use for that many apples and found Invisible Apple Cake.
I'm mashing together a couple of recipes that I found. One had slice almonds on top with a carmel sauce, so I added that to the recipe I chose to make.
I've never made it or had it before, but it sounded good so I'm giving it a shot. Cat, you and I will have to compare notes about how our respective cakes turned out.

Hi, it's good to be here during the "eating season." I'm looking forward to keeping in touch and continuing to maintain, if not losing some weight before the January start.

It sounds like everyone is ready for Thanksgiving. We have, for several years, had our Thanksgiving on the Sunday before so we gathered yesterday and it was wonderful. My job is always to bring the turkey and dressing. Kept me hopping in the kitchen with roasting 3 turkey breast and two 9X13 pans of dressing. The turkeys took more than 3 hours to finish and the dressing took an hour to bake. I was almost 5 minutes late getting there by 1:00 our set time. My 6 week old grandson was introduced to his large family of aunts, uncles and cousins galore.

@SusanM18MFP sounds scrumptious and I like your idea to compare notes... if I can get apples and other ingredients that I don't keep on hand and have time to get it made Wednesday evening. This is not something I can make and keep in the house!

It's good to see so many back for the next challenge.
Had a wet start to the day, so hubby told the grands not come work on the desk and we went for a walk instead. After hubby went to work I went for a haircut and to pick up some last minute things that were out of stock yesterday. Some are still out of stock, but it will be ok. Got my afternoon walk and raked up some pinestraw for the local stray pup. She has a house, but prefers to sleep under a bush and it's gonna be in the 20s tonight. Also did a bit of sewing before dinner. It was a lovely day.6 -

I'm heading to bed. I need to be up at 6:45 (it's 12:26) and it'll take me about an hour to wind down enough to sleep.
Hope you all sleep well tonight and see you tomorrow!! We are dropping off the car so it can be painted correctly. As some of you know we had a few spots fixed a few weeks ago, but they painted it the wrong color. LOL NOT really their fault. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT color to call it!!! HAHAHA and the day they looked at it, and took a picture of it, it DID LOOK a normal yellow, but it really has a bit of neon green tint to it. So you can tell the difference here:
Those who were on the Fall 5% Chat know that the company who did the fixing, we were to kind to them, hey, if we can't tell the difference,, well it makes sense they couldn't of either. I am surprised though they didn't just look on the door when I took it in for an estimate where the Honda paint number is. But since we were so nice they're renting a car for us (well they'll reimburse me) and they did drop down the price too. So we are happy and have a unique story to tell!! IT LITERALLY PAID to be kind, but more so it takes to much energy to carry anger, being kind is so much lighter. Some of you may be seeing family and others this week you may prefer to not see. Try to be kind even if others aren't,, you'll digest your meal better. Sometimes the things we do not say, are the smartest ones not said, and the kindest for them, and us.

Hello everyone! Hubby got into a small Car accident last night. Car is driveable but will need to go into the shop. Hubby’s neck and shoulder didn’t feel right so he took himself to the hospital at 9pm. We found out it takes a long time to get results of a cat scan and an x-ray. He got home at 3am. I stayed awake because he asked almost the whole time4

I made a cute Thanksgiving card yesterday. Thought I'd share! I'm thankful for this challenge! I actually lost my 5% weight on the Fall Challenge! I sure don't want to lose momentum now! Thanks to all you marvelous Team mates!

It going to be gloomy, rainy and stormy till the weekends, it seems. Hopefully no more hailstorm please. The last one we had, the hail was a big as golf balls.

Good Evening Everyone!
Today has been a busy day with TOPS and cleaning Mom's. Down 1 lb! My program went very well and people actually expressed that they learned something. I also shared Ceri's poem and they really enjoyed it as well. Now just trying to play catch-up with things here at home.1 -

@Bookienj ,, How is H today? Often its the 2nd day that's the worse. Hopefully he's only sore. Its not cheap to have a car fixed up. Today we took in to LOL have the correct paint used. BUT!! AND I HAD such a hard time leaving the medical place I was at ,,,, got to the car repair place to have them tell me "The place we rent cars from is closed today due to a Covid breakout. SIGH SIGH!! SO we'll TRY AGAIN on Monday. This time they're assured us we WILL get what we paid for in service etc. The lady again was so grateful I was nice about it. This time it was NOT as easy to be nice, but I didn't want her to know that. When I told her "I understand these things can happen" she said "No matter what happens this weekend, you just made my day!" Now that's a great statement for me too!!

I am one of those who finds it hard to lose weight 😢 I went to my Doc and he said that it's due to my thyroid issues. One can still lose weight but slower says he. My 2 kids plus DH can eat anything and everything and never gain weight. Lucky, isn't it.
I wish my weight will just go down but it depends on what I eat. When hubby and I ordered the Indian food, I actually gained weight the next day. Of course its water weight due to all the salt. On top of my thyroid and vertigo issues, I also love food.... so, it's hard for me to lose weight😢

Good morning! Well thank you for all the well wishes for hubby. I think he is ok-just a little sore. He is off with his parents to watch our older daughter rehearse for the macy’s parade tomorrow (an hour away). I am still in town until our younger daughter gets out of school. Then we will meet them. Our house is so creepy without any noise. The dog is already at her dog resort. Because of covid, I am used to hubby being home on conference calls. And our Alexa is acting up. Going to the gym just for some normalcy.

I am making my Cranberry sauce that my husband loves - it is really easy - wash the cranberries, line a cookie sheet that has sides with foil, cover the cranberries with sugar (as much or as little as you desire - from 1 to 4 cups) cover with foil and bake at 350 for an hour (until the berries pop). Scrape into a bowl. Add 1/4 cup of brandy (or other complementary spirit). Serve warm or cold. (the spirits are optional - it tastes great without of it)2

@Jadepearl ,,, It took me 10 years to lose over 100 lbs,,, I too have have many health conditions the meds are a killer. They make us gain, but we want to lose. With your thyroid it makes it harder, but not impossible. Keep on Making tiny changes on choices, it'll continue to come off so slowly, but it will come down. Its great that you are here!
@bookienj,, Glad hubby wasn't seriously hurt. PHEW!! Hopefully the car can be fixed without to much inconvenience. Ohhh its so strange to have a quiet house!! After my GD left here, and the other grands did about the same time,,, it was soooooo WAY TO QUIET!! I was used to kids 24/7/365!! It was an adjustment period, but I now really enjoy the quiet. Hope the traveling goes well.
@DLBEASYRIDER ,, welcome to the 5%!!! OH IT IS WINDSDAY!!! Winds blowing through at 20 gusting to 31. Electricity is out in a few areas NO DOUBT MANY are NOT HAPPY.
