Our Thanksgiving was nice. Went to the parade in NYC and then ate lunch in the hotel. Then hubby and I went on an adventure to find canned cranberry sauce. Then we went to my daughter’s parade banquet.
@jadepearl -yup we had a nice time at the parade. We got out there a little after 6. Parade started at 9. The people around us weren’t chatty-so we just talked amongst ourselves. Hope your sumner isn’t too hot or wet!2 -

Prayers for all those who need it. Got in some great walking today and before the snow started. We actually have snow on the ground! I am so happy. Played cards with Hubby and will work on my crafts tonight. Had another rough night with the dog. I don't know why all of a sudden he needs to go out in the wee hours multiple times.1 -

With everyone facing cold temps and snow, I hate to complain about my weather! But folks, when it gets down to 70 here, it might as well be 50! I bundle up and wish I had a fireplace - LOL Spoiled rotten, I am. But a brass ensemble playing Christmas music in the Keauhou Shopping Center about 1/4 mile from my condo helped the old holiday spirit to surface.
We do get snow on top of Mauna Kea, though. Some people bring it down in trucks to build a snow man in their yard before it melts!4 -
Jadepearl ,,,, in the summer you can get a lobster right off one of the wharfs for about 5 a lb. But if in a restaurant this is very much so a tourist area, LOL so the prices reflect that. Most locals will cook it themselves. Indeed in Rockport the donut hole was invented. So much easier to eat especially on a ship! Hopefully your summer won't be to bad!! Ours started out so DRY,but during then it certainly caught up!! It also got SO HORRIBLY HOT (well for us) with over 13 days being in the 90's!! It used to be 3 to maybe 5, more so the 3. Do you deal with fries a lot in your area? In Maine there are the small ones, but that's thankfully it.

@Bookienj,,, YO Finding cranberry sauce HAS been an issue!! I LOVE the stuff and have it often in the fall, enough so I don't want it most of the rest of the year. LOLOLOL Did you find any? Hmmm shopping in NYC is ALWAYS interesting. Its sort of freaky to me, but yet, you can tell my eyes are big though i TRY TO NOT show "tourist" but, the MOMENT I open my mouth it's so EASY TO TELL!! LOLOLOL!!! Glad you got home safe and sound.
@CSEGUIN2 ,, OH I SO BADLY WANTED SNOW last night but NOOOOO ALL RAIN. SIGH as said to the north, west, and SOUTH OF US SNOW, but not here. WAHHHHH!! I can't go east. LOL Well if I do I'll be in France! Could the dog have a bladder infection? Or is it an older dog?
@Lavalily,, Where are you located? I LOVE fireplaces!! I grew up with one, but do not have one here. With prices going so VERY CRAZY on everything, hopefully most if not all will be okay.
I had a nice day. Did do a brief grocery shopping, but it wasn't easy. Still I came home, did laundry. Glad it's done until at least Tuesday. Today was just towels, bedding. Tomorrow I have 1 or maybe 2 friends coming over to watch the Pats play the Titans. It'll be an interesting game. LOL We are having pizza. AARRGHHH now I think "Oh I'll get a salad too!" The grocery store will be closing if it's even open, I could get up and look out my window, but GUESS WHO's NOT going to get dressed and get that salad though it sounds so GOOD!! There's just something about salad and pizza. If I wake up early and have the time before a 9:30 AM meeting,,, Oh be guaranteed I'll go down. WELL IF I REMEMBER!! LOL

Quiet day here. Cleaned the baths, mopped and ran the vacuum. Packaged up the turkey my brother fried for me and got most of it in the freezer for eating later. Overnight temps here have been dropping into the low 30's and getting into the low 70's during the day. Hope all had a good Thanksgiving.4

Wow, didn't know that you guys do that. What an amazing treat for the kids. We don't have snow here either. We have to travel up north to ski or play in the snow.

OMG, that sounds amazing. Lobsters are so expensive here. 1 whole cooked lobster (1kg) is around $78. Oh yes, we have lots of flies during Summer. We have housefly, the bushfly and the blowfly. It's just terrible😣

I live on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii. We can go to the beach and watch the surfers while we look up at the mountain covered with snow. My lanai is filled with beautiful orchids; the air is soft to the skin and warm. I've lived and worked here now since early 1996 and don't plan to go anywhere else, even though I'm retired now.5

@Dianedoessmiles1 -we did find it-at Whole Foods! We never go there because 1. It’s not near here 2. More expensive prices. There was actually a limit of 2! It was organic but my daughter couldn’t tell the difference-thank goodness! It’s funny because we have two cans at home that are just waiting to be opened.
Lol about sounding like a tourist. We really only buy food in NY other than like at Macy’s or American girl. My younger daughter didn’t ask to go there -not sure if she outgrew it or was just done. She did enjoy Macy’s big piano (you stand on it to play) and the wooden escalators. I have been told I have a md accent for a few words.

Happy Sunday everyone! It's a cool and snowy day here today. My daughter says hello to everyone. Both budgie birds are doing well and say cheep, cheep! I've been for a walk in the afternoon and I feel great! I'll be doing some dancing after supper. I'm starting my Christmas 🌲 shopping today. Have a great day, everyone! Take care and stay safe.4

We've had snow, rain, and sun today. Walking in winter boots just sucks. But my feet are warmer. I think my puppy is just punishing us for not taking him for walks when it's to cold or to icy. He has a lot of power and hates other dogs. So just not safe. Oh well we will do our best to get him to realize the changes. Today has be pretty productive.2 -

It's going to hit 30°C / 86°F today. Whenever I read all of your posts on how cold it's for you guys, I wish it's as cold over here too😂 I prefer the cold 365 days a year if I could. Tomorrow, we will get hotter it seems, around 32°C / 89.6°F. That means, staying indoors with the air-con on 😁 Not sure if electricity is expensive over at your side? We are known to pay some of the highest residential electricity bills in the world.😭

Hello everyone I was Jacquelyn-L-Fit on spark people. I had lost quite a bit of weight and at 182 down from 272 in just 5 months before I got my breast cancer diagnosis. At that point I was dealing with a lot of emotional trauma and got sucked into a nasty bit of depression. But on a positive note... I am 4 years cancer free and a survivor.
Now back to why I tried to go back to so. November 9th I weighed in at 268 and that was the catalyst for me. I hadn't gained it all back but... it was close enough.. I decided to do something about it. So I went to spark people and found spark america... what in the world did they do?!?! I don't live in any of those cities.. I live 40 miles out in the country... no community support? Uh yeah c'ya... so I went to my fitbit community... still not the same.. blah!
One of the ladies made a post about joining challenges.. which were instrumental in my jouney.. I can be a tad competitive you see...
So.. here I am.. I'm down to 248 as of today.. so 20 pounds lighter.. my next big goal is to get rid of the 2 and swap it for a one .. I know I can do it.. it's just better with support. So thank you for allowing me to join you on this journey...5 -

@Jadepearl,,, Oh please be super safe with the fires. When I moved from Maine to Colorado (2012) CO was having trouble with many fires. I went get insurance on my stuff,,the agent told me "If you brought anything of value here, SEND IT BACK!! If you want keep pictures have them copied, keep the copies and SEND THE ORINGALS BACK TO MAINE." So I hope you can be safe. Fire is so scary. YO on being so warm!! We have horseflies, they're so BIG and HURT when they bite and they DO BITE A LOT!! They're non poisonous though still they ARE SO BIG we sell tickets to tourists "For a RIDE on a MAINE HORSEFLY It'll go ANY PLACE you wish!" ALMOST as much fun as selling "elevator" tickets in HS, there was NO elevator and the horseflies though VERY Big no one can ride them.

@Bookienj,,, COOL that you found it at Whole Foods, ours is in the city across the harbor that's easy enough to do. However it's located in a mix neighborhood. There's a large homeless shelter there, so the police are always there. But many high end condo's/high rises are being built there, so it's a hard area to be in. Its rare I go. They're going to build a new homeless shelter out of that area (money talks of course) a shelter is being built in an area that's on the outer edge of that city. At that point I won't be as weary, but I do easily have my needs/wants met at my backdoor to say. LOVE cranberry sauce!! I just do. I so BADLY want snow. LOL ANY SNOW!

You've been through so much!! Small changes will make and are making such a difference. I started at 288, lost down to 174, got a bone infection that lasted 18 months (til they finally amputated my big toe which is where it was) ,, my weight had gone back up to 212 due to inactivity and yes, depression. Today years later at 177-178. WTG on that 20 GONE!! We are delighted to have you with us!! CONGRATS on being a cancer survivor!! Did you pick a team?

Today I had a friend over after an AM Meeting with our congregation on ZOOM. Very few Congregations of our faith have had live meetings, and likely those will stop very fast with the new variant coming around. PL

This friend and I before COVID where around each other A LOT but usually in a bunch of other friends. It was so neat today we are both going through so much, some the same other stuff differently, but we were able to encourage each other, help each other,,, oh we had pizza, thankfully the chocolate cake and ice cream did NOT come out/over!! WOOHOO!!! So I'll do well with my health today!! YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! YEAH!!! Let's have a GREAT Evening!!
On the Positively Strong for Life we've been having fun on a team feed of dancing, falling, weebles (remember those?) so my last post I'll share with you in regards to when dancing isn't always safe. LOL ALWAYS KNOW OUR LIMITS and well I am NOT a dancer so this would EASILY happen to me. I have 3 left feet!

Hello 5% Challengers! Church this AM and then did my outside decorating. Made a grocery list while eating lunch, so I'm off to the store in a few minutes. Grocery shopping is one of my least favorite activities, but it needs to be done.
@Dianedoessmiles1 I think I said it was quiet, not boring. Not to worry though, there is plenty of cleaning I could do around here. Always is with two dogs dropping fur 24/7!

Aussies like American accents (and we love yours); rain in Maine (and also falls on the plain); and the new Christmas hit: Fleas Navidog! 🤣

Today started out cold and cloudy, so we slept in. Got our morning walk in just before lunch, but got it in. Made turkey cordon bleu empanadas from leftovers for lunch, they were pretty good, but all the dough is gone now. Gonna get some coconut flour and make some keto dough and give it a try. Vacuumed and did laundry after lunch and got another quilt top put together while the laundry was going, Did my afternoon walk and chatted with a neighbor before dark. It gets dark so early these days.1

@SusanM18MFP ,,I actually LOVE Grocery shopping, that's a little odd but I do. With that being said I am seriously considering for at least a few months doing either the delivery or the Pick up. I so easily get colds, flu's and do not want covid though I am fully vaccinated/ and booster too. I am fighting a cold, I went into the grocery store yesterday.

@jadepearl-buffets are probably the same. Pick up a plate and get what you want-as much as you want? This was “catered” at a hotel for over 350 people so I don’t even think to go for 2nds. My fall/spring step goal is around 15,000. When the heat is really bad or winter weather is happening, I make it closer to 10,000. I don’t want to slip outside.

Good morning everyone! Just came back from spin class. Today was first day back after Thanksgiving break. My daughter was in the thanksgiving day parade and now jazz band starts tomorrow. My other daughter will be performing in the nutcracker suite in a few weeks. Hoping the variant behaves itself
