I want to know what you are doing or plan to do for some self-care this week. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or huge, just something that makes you happy. That makes you settle down and feel at peace.
Self-care is something many of us tend to leave out of are routines and it is very harmful to our mental and physical well-being. Due to the expectation of working long hours and the fast pace life of today’s society, its no wonder why we forget this simple, yet crucial proponent in our health.
Due to this overworking and non stop pace it has created an underlying notion that we must be productive. We must give our time and energy to work and commerce and air tight agendas. In turn, taking away time for self - care.
The effect to our mental health and well-being?
Not taking time for yourself can create issues like depression, anxiety, burnout, resentment and much more negativity in our headspace. Physically, it can increase chances of heart disease, stroke and several other life-threatening diseases.
Self - care doesn’t have to be expensive, lavish or mirroring others self-care routines. It just needs to be simply something that gives you inner peace. Something that takes your stress away and brings you back to reality.
So my friends, what do you intend to do for self-care this week? What are some things you’ve done in the past that you’d like to revisit? What advice could you give to someone who is struggling to set time away from their schedule to take care of theirselves?
