I just found out my other vets trip got cancelled and no one told me. I’m on a nine day run working 134 hours in the nine days. It would have been nice to have a couple of those days off. I just finished an eight day stretch two weeks ago so he could go to a conference. That was 120 hours in 8 days. I’m a little pissed that no one said anything! I’m not a robot! These are tough runs. They were hard when I was 40. Now at 60 they are really tough! I’m pissed! Maybe it’s time to find another job.2

@sufferlandrian - sounds like it's time for a heart-to-heart with whoever owns the clinic? How can you provide excellent care when you are exhausted all the time?
I'm in California checking on mom. 87/750 -
@sufferlandrian That kind of treatment is terrible. The higher ups are forgetting there are real live people doing all the heavy lifting. Maybe it is time to consider a new job. I'm sure that's a hard decision, your love for your work is always noticeable in your posts. But you do need to put yourself first. I left nursing in October because of how I was treated, burn out etc. It's hard to explain how good that feels. Mentally and physically.
21/30 - I think there's a glitch with Ticker Factory

@SUFFERLANDRIAN - Oh wow....that is terrible! I don't know how you do it. Like Karen said, I'm sure it's because of your love and passion for what you do, but dang! That sort of work pace is not sustainable forever. Sending you strength and clarity for what lies ahead and how you can improve your difficult situation.
And with this update, that's a wrap on another week. And we're almost finished with January if you can believe that! WOW!
I hope you have a great weekend!
Dave

Jan.26: 5.25 miles walking
Jan. 27: 4.25 miles walking
Jan 28: 5 miles walking
TTD: 126 miles
@sufferlandrian - I truly don’t know how you can keep up this kind of pace. I know you do it for the love of animals, but this is so crazy. I will keep you in prayer for answers and solutions. Hugs to you. Wish there were something more aI could do to help.

@sufferlandrian - sounds like your good nature and love of animals are being taken advantage of. Hoping a happy resolution can be reached.

Life has been manic … and very depressing here. I’m still struggling with injury - and I fell again on Saturday. This time I couldn’t identify the trip hazard that I’d caught. Then there have been sick grandsons and sick sons … one of whom has managed to infect me with Covid.
As things go, I’m quite well (I think). Hopefully I shall see you all in February, fighting fit and raring to go!

Hmmm.... sorry if this post appears twice. Gremlins at work.
And now we have @Leanz and @k80flec passing the goal line!
@k80flec sorry this has been a tough month, but sounds like you've already pulled yourself up and are ready to try again. Hope things improve in February.
1 day left - I'd like to see the whole spreadsheet turn gold. You can do it!0 -

I finally did it!! Woohoo! I had a few obstacles this month, but one happened last week that really scared me. I was having dinner with my family after work and swallowed a piece of food that would not go down all the way. It got stuck at the bottom of my esophagus. I ended up in the hospital having to have an endoscopy done to remove the piece of food. I was out of walking a few days and while in the hospital I found out I had covid. So I was out of work for 5 days. But I'm all better. Back to work and back to walking and biking. Looking forward to February!0 -
