@tcunbeliever , I feel your pain. Anymore, it is very hard to get into a deficit for me as well. Now, do I make all the right choices? No and that contributes but I consider myself fairly active from an exercise perspective and feel like there are times I just need the fuel. But I still try to drop a few vanity pounds , and geez it is difficult!3

Nice whoosh. And even with Lucifer's Waterfall paying me a visit today (thank you tcunbeliever for that gem!)
My energy working out was much better yesterday. Not sure if I'm starting to adapt or the moody rage helped...but in any case I had a good workout.

Poverty days are hard...I wish I had more calories to "spend" on those days...but I'd really like to slim up a bit, so you gotta do what you gotta do...
Thank you! That makes sense!1 -

down to 158 today after bouncing up to 159.6 a few days ago...think this is probably PMS so I won't get an accurate read on weight until after all the drama clears...ugh...I really should start tracking inches in addition...need to remember that tomorrow morning...sticking with the plan, yesterday was a hungry day and hard to stay at poverty, but I did it (mostly) and used a protein shake to hit protein goals (which did put me 100 cals over, but worth it to me)...weekend will be crazy busy but I'm going to try to keep it all poverty and hold off until like next week for another maintenance day (fingers crossed)3

No, I just snorkel, surf (not well, lol), and boogie board. A bit too cold to dive in January in the Azores anyhow. Also just cancelled the Thailand trip for our 40th anniversary in March. Bummer. Looking at a hiking trip to base of Annapurna range in late November.... haven't bought it yet, feeling like this is going to go on forever. I know it won't, it just seems like it. My bank just closed for the week - too many Covid quarantine and isolation among the staff.
Weighed myself the other day...too crappy to mark down here, now worse thanks to 99 cent boxes of candy canes, and bottles of good wine - not at the same time. Tomorrow is a restart.

I am feeling like a human yo-yo again. Up, then down, then up, then up more, then down. It is starting to get discouraging. I know. I just need to trust the process. At least I'm back down to the lowest weight I was last Saturday. Maybe tomorrow it will be below 175! Even 174.8! LOL!3 -

My scale is doing the same crap to me. Hang in there. I bet if you checked you are getting some body composition changes. The scale won't tell you that. Try to focus on all your NSVs while you wait for this nonsense to suss out. Which I'm also telling myself. Loudly today in particular since I need it.3 -

Scale went back down .2, how generous.
Anyway, looks like my weekend is going to be disrupted. Fam we haven't seen since before Thanksgiving has quarantined enough to see us and has finally gotten their booster (they had gotten the J&J vax). So they told us they are coming over and bringing take out. Like I really needed them to mess with my jam so soon. So I need to figure out what they can bring for me at the place they want to stop or I will just need to eat before they get here. I got my eyes on the prize!
And of course I need to clean today and tomorrow morning/afternoon because the kids have wrecked the house again (as they do). And by golly they are going to help me or I'll take their screens, the stinkfaces.4 -

I’ve had ok days for the last few- kept up on plenty of water, strength training and for the most part eating when hungry. I have snacked here and there- like yesterday I felt like a Starbucks latte that somehow Bailey’s found it’s way into plus some praline pecans. Talk about sugar overload. Like several of you, the scale is just a ridiculous tool this week. I’ve gone up almost 4 pounds and lost nearly that much in a span of 6 days. Definitely water retention from added weights and sodium or so I would assume. Another roller coaster of maintenance so far this month!4 -

Whoo hoo! Nice little whoosh there! I've now officially lost 40 pounds since starting this little journey! Of course I fully expect that to go up again, because my body likes to torment me. Plus I had a bit too much of tortilla chips and dip yesterday watching the playoffs! But it was the Bills/Pats game! I will try to lessen that amount for today's games.2 -
I have also lost 40 pounds from my highest weight.

Hi! I'm Mary from Pennsylvania.
Back again! Will post weight on Sundays. Sticking with what has been working for me since 5/14/21. 1000-1200 calories/day,
Net Carbs15 +/- 3 grams(some days actually less), 70+ oz water/day, only 2 meals/day on non work days (I work 4 days/week) and exercise on my non work days (as I work long days).
UGW-122 lbs
Oct goal was 10 lbs Almost made it!, loss -9.6 lbs
Nov goal was 5 lbs Made it, loss -5.6 lbs!
Dec goal is also 5 lbs, loss so far -5.4 lbs! Made my goal!
9/14/20-255 lbs Highest weight twice :-(
5/3/21-240.5 lbs
6/1/21-228.8 lbs
7/1/21-222.2 lbs
8/1/21-212.0 lbs
9/1/21-200.0 lbs
10/1/21-191.4 lbs
11/1/21-181.8 lbs
12/1/21-176.2 lbs
12/26/21-165.6 lbs
12/31/21-168 lbs
Went out to Texas Roadhouse on on 12/28, behaved except for a few of their rolls (remind me of my Grandma's homemade bread) so I'm sure its water weight from Sodium.
My January goal is 5 lbs and continue with my diet and exercise up above, that is working great for me. I did 240 minutes on my Elliptical yesterday and today for 16.5 & 16.55 miles.
1/2/22-168 lbs Still sure it's water weight. And having Pork & Sauerkraut for New Years isn't helping. It will drop eventually.
1/9/22-164.6 lbs. :-) Water weight was finally gone yesterday after a week+ and then a drop today to my lowest weight in 6-7 years!!!! Did 244 minutes on my Elliptical for 17.1 miles.
1/16/22-162 lbs :-) Did 253 minutes for 16 miles on my Elliptical.
January loss -6 lbs of my 5 lb January goal!
Down 93 lbs of my 132 lb goal to lose!
Fat percentage on my scale(even though they aren't that accurate) is now moderate instead of high. Normal is next!1 -

A very slight uptick, but I expected a lot more than that, so still very happy! Yesterday, also ate too much tortilla chips and dip. If I were with my family, that wouldn't have happened because there wouldn't be that much to go around. So only my son here, and he doesn't like corn tortillas and dip which I made out of a brick of cream cheese, can of chili, no beans, and shredded cheddar. So more for me! Unfortunately. LOL! Still have more even though I tried to make less than I normally make. I count it as a meal instead of an appetizer or snack. I made a big omelet for breakfast which took up most of my calories, so that's my bad. Maybe I should have planned better. LOL! Live and learn!2 -

And there it is! LOL! Now that that's out of the way, time to get back on track. I am finding it harder now. I was told at my doctor's appointment that my cholesterol is too high. So trying to bring that down and it's hard because all of my favorite foods have high cholesterol mgs. Like eggs. I love eggs! And was having them almost every day. So now I am having egg whites. Which cuts down on calories too. But I have to have more calories, and then end up getting more carbs. It's a vicious cycle and I haven't found a happy medium yet. Or I could just continue eating under 1200 calories a day. Which isn't good. I'll just keep playing around and hopefully come up with a good plan!
Have a great day!3 -
1/15-1/17
These long weekends are no good for me and the weather doesn’t help when all I want to do is lay on the couch. Hydration was okay the last few days but should be higher to help fill me up. While I didn’t eat a ton, I did make some questionable choices so I’m retaining water again today and my system is paying the price. I’ve tried to play around a bit with carbs lately but am finding they only make me feel worse and make me want more carbs. I also suspect I’m developing a food allergy so have made an appointment to be tested. My movement has been down a bit as well so not a great weekend but it could be worse. Now to get back on the wagon, feel better and finish the month strong!4 -
