Welcome @sophsjw I hope you find this group helpful.
I can't remember who had posted about supplementing with mushroom powders because they didn't like fresh mushrooms. I like mushrooms but I use a few supplements too. Check out a company called Four Sigmatic. They have a lot of different options and they use only the fruiting body of the mushroom so you pay for the real stuff not filler. I use their their focus blend which is made from lions mane. I want to try some of their lattes but haven't yet. I also like one of the lattes from daily harvest. It's more of a hot chocolate and has two mushrooms in it called chaga and reishi.
Today went well. I finished day 2 of my food plan, the first 3 days are like a reset and I have to follow it exactly. I followed all of the meal plans exactly. Went for a 40 minute walk with the dog. I'm not hungry but boy am I addicted to some carbs! Definitely missing them.3 -
And it's reminder time! Wednesday people? Here you go -

Ugh! Snacked on a bunch of peanuts today then I snacked at night. Hangs head in shame…3

Welcome @sophsjw
I went over on my calories yesterday and it showed on the scales today. Mostly just because Tuesday is a hungry day after getting up so early and training first thing, though we were also having KFC for tea (pre-planned). I don't think MFP allows for higher calories on one day than the rest of the week even in the premium version, but it's fine - it was just one day!
@ashleycarole86 OH did not buy the Lego set he wanted; we agreed we'd get it from Lego directly to benefit from the loyalty scheme (it was no cheaper in this store) but then having paid for a holiday, he wants to hold off. He wants either the Bookshop or the Boutique Hotel.
I'm getting ready to head into the office. That is still a challenge for me - I worry about not having enough food, and consequently going mad at the shop - but I'm only going in once every couple of months so if I do get derailed it's not the end of the world.4 -

2more days until boat possession so I didn't quite make my goal, but consistent progress all month. I think this is the first month I've had 4 weeks in the green since the start of my journey. I'm going to keep on it as the next event is in one month from now when I will likely see extended family and friends I haven't seen in over 3 years. I'm started shopping for dresses. It's amazing to be able to shop at non-plus sized stores. I've never had the bust to fill out many of the plus sized clothes that fit the rest of my body so nothing ever fit right. I always felt cheated, like "If I'm going to be overweight, I should at least get to have a huge rack too!" LOL

Once every couple of months? Can I come work with you instead?!?!? I'm still losing sleep over trying to figure out my commute and I'm not slated to go back until September. The big debate for me is how much money is your time really worth? Is it better to drive and feel in control of your own schedule at an increased cost, or to be a passenger at the whims of the transit system, but where you can hopefully sit and read and just accept your fate. Ahh!! but again, Not a TODAY problem. Need to compartmentalize that one and just put it away until it actually matters.
Welcome @sophsjw, this group is great for motivation and commiseration when you need it. The accountability is what's allowed me to keep off the 50lbs I've lost for a year now.
@EvMakesChanges I finally saw my massage therapist yesterday and she had notes from my last visit that my pecks and traps were extremely tight so she knew I was a ticking time bomb for something to seize up. I woke up this morning feeling amazing. Hopefully I can work on my posture at my desk and the headaches will go away!6 -

Oh no! Well, today you pick up your head and walk past the blankety-blank peanuts. Have a good one!I don't think MFP allows for higher calories on one day than the rest of the week even in the premium version, but it's fine - it was just one day!
That's the way to do it - just ONE day! Follow it with the perfect day to get back on track - they go together like a happy couple on vacation. In Rhodes. Making us all smile3 -
Good Morning, today is going to be a good day, I got up, did a 10 min Interval video, and packed a nice salad for lunch. Going to dinner with the oldest kid today, so that will be fun. Then the hubby comes home tonight.
We aren't going to look at the past, only the future, and today will be a good day !
I was the one who was talking about the mushrooms. I checked out the site you mentioned, but I think I will stick with what I have. I don't use creamer in my coffee, and making drinks is just a big ole no for me, lol. I'm lazy when it comes to that, and that stuff is too expensive to never use it. What I am using seems to be working, I am sleeping better, and have a ton more energy, I wake up at 5am and am ready to go.
Have a great day !7 -
This week has been so busy and it's not even half over. Last week of my contract position but I just signed an offer for a new job. It sounds like everything that I want in a job!! I start next week and will have to adjust my gym schedule. Hopefully I can figure something out! I'm excited!!7

That's amazing! Especially after the last interview process left you feeling so defeated. Congrats. Can't wait to hear more about it.4 -
Happy Wednesday, y'all! I love the "MFP... “extended outrage” (instead of OUTAGE). I don't know about you but I dislike being in a state of anger any longer than necessary. Ha-ha.
I'm driving up to see my daughter in northern Vermont and will be back for my weigh in on Friday morning. In the meanwhile, I'm keeping track of my weekly challenge and will report the results when I have completed them.
Have a lovely day. I'll be back in touch via phone and hope the app cooperates.2 -
Cw is back up at 228, got a lot of stress going on at the moment, paired with some health stuff going on and water retention. Erg4

Hugs to you that is not a fun time. Take those deep breaths, and you'll make it through.
OK. Wait a minute. I just went to enter your 228 in the spreadsheet. You LOST a pound! Now you can breathe a sigh of relief, at least about that! You'll be back to where you were soon.3 -
Evening folks!
I'm wiped this week. The days feel so much busier mid-week when I'm back in the office. @PlaneMonkey the angst of office life is real... I get it!!
One of the disappointing things is that I have less overall time and more chores to do at night. So, I can't necessarily do all the active things I want on those days. Just learning to deal with that, as I really enjoy that. But I don't want to be acting manic and staying up too late just to exercise and so on. I mean, sometimes... sure... but trying to find the balance in this new schedule.
Welcome back @Kali225 ... glad the Colorado trip was much better!
The app outage did not help things here.. still not synching right so just working around it! As long as I can still track and check in with you lovely folks, I feel good
4/26 exercise:
31 mins Peloton + 13827 steps3 -
@ashleycarole86 it is so horrible when work interferes with life! Hopefully you'll find a way to keep a little 30 minutes or so on the Peloton before bed. You'll sleep like a baby. It looks like yesterday sure had a good step count and time for the Peloton - you are amazing.
Ready for those Thursday weigh-ins?

@kellie_erin CONGRATS 👏 So happy to hear you landed a job. I hope you get some relief from all the stress you have been dealing with.
@Kali225 Glad your Colorado trip was way better than your last trip. Glad you are back.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Glad you found some supplements you like. I definitely have a coffee obsession so any excuse to have more coffee is always good in my book 😂
@ashleycarole86 Hope your able to get into a new routine now that you're back in the office more. Besides the initial shutdown, our building stayed open the entire time so I kind of forget that some people are just now changing settings. That's got to be difficult after being home for such a long time!3 -
I am finishing up my 3rd and final day of my diet re-set. I'm not hungry but this evening I definitely has some cravings. Had 2 small squares of dark chocolate...relief! Lifted weights for 40 minutes.
P.S. I am sick and tired of MFP being stupid.4 -
@kellie_erin YES GIRL!!! What amazing news. So happy for you.
@conleywoods The MFP issues are definitely not making people happy eh. I am thankful I got the opportunity to work from home as long as I did during the pandemic and I definitely already feel more settled this week than I did the last.
Happy to report that discipline helped me push through when motivation wasn't there tonight. The thing is.. motivation for me isn't always enough to overcome feeling tired, stressed, overwhelmed... but tonight I got on the bike because my internal discipline and drive to achieve got me there.
Guess what? Once I was on, it was GREAT! A longer ride than yesterday and I felt much better for it. The mental benefits of exercise are truly great for me.
The check in here was part of the push to get on, so once again I can't be thankful enough for how much inspiration I get from this group.
See you in the morning for weigh-in!4 -

Yesterday's snow did not stick much, but it is chilly out there! I have to get out for a walk quick while the sun is shining. Hoping everyone is having a good Thursday

It's a bit cold here today too @jugar. Has been overcast which doesn't help.
I'm walking with a friend after work. We were supposed to run but I've had a hectic week workwise, including today, and I don't think I can face it. I will see if she wants to run in the morning, though, as I do need to test the water.
I have succumbed to a little stress eating this afternoon, but I am going low on the calories for tea and having soup (chillied sweetcorn) rather than a bigger meal. The rest of the evening... I may be productive, but I may just crash on the sofa with my cross stitch!3 -
Good morning pals. Still taking things easy with my foot, so I disconnected fitbit from MFP altogether. I think I am going to go back to only entering the fitbit cals burned from specific exercise periods by hand, even when I am 100% again. I think mentally, the full-day burn fitbit calc'd was too generous and letting me slide by.
Yesterday was right on the border of the "one perfect day". I feel so much better already. I did a workout (15 min arms) and yoga (20 min for hips) for the first time since.. March 16th.
@kellie_erin so exciting about the job!!! As a currently "funemployed" person, loving that energy.
I had an interview this morning that I think went well. But I need to get my butt into gear with some other applications because if I end up getting an offer, I don't want it to be the only one on the table.
Looking forward to a walk to Trader Joe's today for a few things and an ab workout. Currently making a warm goat cheese & walnut arugula salad for lunch.5 -

I have been really struggling these past few weeks, especially this week. As previously mentioned, despite triple vaccines, I ended up with COVID. I have felt symptom free for a couple of weeks but have noticed a dramatic drop in my stamina and endurance levels - my cycling metrics are well off from my pre-COVID levels and I am absolutely gassed by the end of a ride. That's not like me. To add another layer, I'm not sleeping well - only averaging 4 - 5.5 hrs a night which leaves me exhausted in the afternoon. It is taking every ounce of determination to stick to my regime.
Has this been others experience with COVID? If so, did it last this long? Did it go away? I don't think I'd be so concerned if I didn't have the data (functional threshold power) to show that I'm down roughly 10 - 15 percent in overall output).
Any reassurance would be appreciated.7 -

Well, I finished off the bucket of peanuts today that I bought for staff snacks, so I won’t have to worry about those for tomorrow. 🙄!1 -
@bowens1973 Sorry to hear you are still feeling really tired after covid. I can't remember how long ago you were sick, so you will have to remind me. My husband and I both had a similar experience. We were also triple vaccinated. We weren't really that sick with covid but the exhausted feeling lasted a good month. My husband is definitely more active than me. He was teaching PE at the time so it isn't unusual for him to have well over 15,000 steps just at work. He likes to hike on weekends. He found the poor performance and exhaustion to be especially annoying. Couldn't climb hills without breaks and just couldn't hike very far. Sometimes he would start out ok, but then would hit a wall out of nowhere. We are now 2 months post infection and we don't have any of these symptoms anymore. Hope you get some relief soon!5
