@ashleycarole86 we're going out tomorrow; an escape room in the Nottingham caves (yep, actual caves! If you're 6'3" or taller they give you a hard hat lol) then food at a good burger place. Saturday/Sunday OH is working 7-4, so I'll be pottering at home. Monday OH is off but we've no plans. Tuesday OH is working 3-12, and I'm off to Yorkshire to do some decluttering for my grandparents, getting my hair done, and meeting a great friend for food - it's going to be a long day!
Had a bit of a panic yesterday because my peach and nectarine trees have peach leaf curl - it's a fungal infection. The nectarine is far worse and most of the leaves had it. I've stripped them (later found out that was unnecessary as the damage is done to the buds, but the leaves would drop anyway) and need to try and nurse them through. We went out for a mini-greenhouse because rain is a big factor in it, so they're both covered now. I know what to do for next spring, and hope they make it! I did enjoy spending time in the garden and the weather is meant to be good this weekend, so that might be my plan for Saturday.
I'm having a laugh about the hardhats for tall people - there are some great things about being a shorty! My OH would be sporting the helmet for sure.
@bowens1973 I'm glad you got some good grub from the Indian restaurant in Lloyd! I'm looking forward to going back there in May when I go out to visit my daughter
Today I'm pulling on my own reins to keep from eating all the things! Dad likes his ice cream, and even though I got some fat free frozen yogurt, I'll try to keep it reasonable - and avoid all the other snack foods in the house. My stepmother is a bit of a "be prepared for the worst" type, so there are bags and bags of popcorn, potato chips, nuts, etc. I got some pickles yesterday!

I managed to maintain control on my food this past week and the scale is showing it. I had a few hungry moments but the will power is still there. I'm hoping this weekend I will stay strong. Results are worth it!4

In other news, my husband is home!!! Hoorah. We ran errands tonight so we both took the night off the bike. We haven't slept well this week so we are looking forward to a good long sleep in tomorrow!
We are getting snow here too, but nothing too crazy yet. I'm pretty ready for some warm weather!

@planemonkey I've got the same feeling as you...let's not blow it this weekend Extra weekend challenge for me as we have Monday off as well.

Bit of a frustrating result - largely due to being on the road this week and eating at a number of places that didn't have nutritional information so I assume my estimates were off. I did use the hotel gym a few times for the first time - was able to use my Peloton app and their stationary bike to do a few classes. Will definitely do that again. Great to be home - I do not sleep well without my girls (@ashleycarole86 and Morgan our 5.5 pound Maltese wonder pup). Back to the physical office this week coming - first time in 2 years. This will bring a new set of challenges - first day back I have a lunch out with a colleague, so the temptations start early. Lol!5 -

@bowens1973 You turned that ship around from holidays and you were in challenging circumstances to do so. I'm proud of you. I know you made some great choices - prioritizing exercise, ordering smaller sizes of items, etc. We had lots of chats throughout the week and you were making mindful choices. You will keep working at it!

What a beautiful day of sunshine here today! My car is fixed, my budget is lying on the floor in an abandoned warehouse somewhere, my stepmom got back, and I'll be heading home tomorrow! Tonight we're going out for dinner, so I'll try to behave...
I hope the Friday weigh-ins start pouring in - mighty quiet on that front in here today. Some great progress for you road warriors and pickle pickers, though. Keep it up!3 -

Today started with a very delicious cinnamon bun from Cobs Bakery. Brad has a soft spot for bakeries. As I was eating it, he mentioned the lady added more icing before giving them to him as they looked under iced to her. That was just as I was in the middle of saying it felt super decadent for the calories. So, I added some extra icing calories to my tracking for good measure. This is definitely a key to my success despite eating out - lots of being REALLY honest with myself
I had a hard ride on the Peloton around lunch, a quick visit with a friend who brought his 1 year old over for a visit, and then Brad and I went out to a movie. Supper is being made as we speak. Overall, a great day!
Got my dog walk in too, although it was colder than I thought. Oh yes, and a bit of shoveling first thing too. The sun's been out to melt most of it again though.5 -

@ashleycarole86 much of the grand jury day was sitting around waiting but then I got my turn to be asked questions (that I knew ahead) about some jerk who took $30,000 deposit from 3 neighbors wishing to repair their seawall and he had no intention of ever doing the work. Repeat scam offender and he bit off more than he could chew, by having to go thru our town office. So an interesting day.
Sorry you're still dealing with cold & snow, hope you're soon looking at daffodils. I've put our hummingbird feeder up- we've had quite a good stretch of weather, there might be an early migrant.
@DD265 crossing fingers for your fruit trees - nothing like a ripe peach!! The squirrels here are a PIA! They take the fruit before it even ripens! Our peach trees are long gone but I picked up a pear a few years ago and managed to harvest some last year.
The weekends are my challenge right now - not a lot of structure to the days. Fortunately there's so much yard work to do that my output allows for more calories. Getting some veg seeds started and doing my taxes are on my to do list (again!) for this weekend.2 -

@eggfreak what vegetables do you like to grow? This is my first year trying and I hope it turns out ok. I was growing some bell peppers and started them indoors like it suggested and none of them grew 😕 I hope that's not a sign of the squash, zucchini, and tomatoes 😂
This week has been so-so for me. I went to the gym 3 times and did a lot of yardwork too! We got food brought in to work one day and I was able to limit myself and track the calories! Then yesterday I caved and had a bunch of easter candy. But today is a new day!5 -

The sun is out... hooray! I have a haircut around lunch and then I'm taking Brad on a surprise date around supper time. Enjoy the day.
4/15 exercise:

@eggfreak the original 2019 nectarine grew a fruit, but it never got to a reasonable size and the tree was too young to fruit properly so it was unexpected anyway. The graft (nectarine) failed last year but the rootstock survived; luckily I had procrastinated on taking it to the tip and it was growing away in the dark. I think it may be a plum/almond hybrid but right now it has pretty white blossoms and will probably just be a decorative addition to the garden. The peach is still the same one I bought in 2019, and I'm fairly sure it will survive as it has many more leaves left, but it has no blossoms so I don't think we'll get fruit.
Last year I grew tomatoes, peppers and strawberries. This year I'm thinking of adding some salad leaves, using hanging baskets and guttering attached to the fence. I am on the waiting list for an allotment in the village which will give me space to do more. I bought some herbs at the garden centre yesterday to refresh the ones under the kitchen window, and also some seeds for marigolds and sunflowers (as they'll attract predators that eat the aphids on my roses). I treated myself to an orchid too; I think they're stunning. I need a mansion with a huge orangery where I can grow all my house plants safely away from the cats. And an orchard, of course lol.
We got out of the escape room yesterday with 3 minutes 14 seconds to spare. It was a good one; quite different to what we'd done before and the caves were cool. Today I've been sort of busy... I had the best intentions and then Spock has been demanding attention from 5.30am all the way though. OH (who left at 6am) is now home, so I'm going to try and get a couple more bits done. My aim is that by the end of Monday, my 'home' to do list will no longer scroll. Unfortunately today I think I've added more than I've taken off!4 -

Ugh, up several pounds, 3 I think. This is about where I ended spring break and I never made it down. I never had time to jump on the scale all week so I wasn't really prepared for this number. I'm getting more things back on track like exercise, vegetables and fiber. I was really bad at drinking water this week which is unusual for me. I am still just blowing my calorie budget some days and not by a little. I'm eating too many calories early in the day and have little to work with at night. I will be making adjustments. It's been cold here and a stupid cougar has been spotted more than once around my preferred walking trail. Come on big kitty! I've been dragging my dog up and down those trails and you would think he wouldn't like that. It's breeding season for turkey so they are hanging out in our field dancing up a storm. I'm sure the cougar is checking them out. No more guided runs because I don't want headphones on out there. I think my watch has runs preprogrammed and I won't need headphones for those. I am going to stay inside for awhile. Maybe he will go away.5 -

I definitely saw some lower numbers during the week, but I has a very stressful week - I had my contract-end presentation and a job interview on Thursday and I talked to a bunch of guys who work in oil and gas about me talk health on Wednesday (including talking about my own struggles). I've got two more weeks left in my contract and I'm trying to find a job and trying to find out if I'm still in my master's program. So in two weeks I may be completely directionless 😅5 -

I am happy to have made it home and that I was able to meet up with my sister @EvMakesChanges on the way. I am tired after just five days of taking care of the 94-year-old dad - it is quite a task, and my hat is off to those of you who do this all the time. You are all heroes.
I am looking forward to getting some sweaty exercise now though - did not get much mileage or effort in this past week - but I'm all ready for the world championship of slo-mo walking with old person and dog!4 -
