Back from PT. I felt like I lost some ground, but according to the measurements, I made some slight improvements in my shoulder. This week was mostly passive movement and massage, so a really enjoyable session. (last week was the hardest one so far, with increased weights and new exercises)

Yesterday I lost a pound. Today I found it back LOL
Just the way it goes. Eating well and feeling good my progress. I bought a swimsuit in my best guess of the size I'll be come December. I couldn't resist...it was half off and when I am looking around here in December the options will be limited and expensive.

    That juicer looks great, Nanc.

Glad you are still enjoying your juicer, Nanc. Your sauce sounds great with all the veggies.

'Grats on the new swimsuit, Carla. You are doing great!

Stopped at the small grocery on the way home and got green kale, purple kale, chard, mushrooms. I have onion already. So tomorrow after work I will make a big skillet of greens and beans, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds when serving up so all the GOMBS will be there except the berries. I am eating too many starches and need to rein it in.

B - ezekiel toast with avocado, arugula, sliced tomato
L - hummus and veggie wrap (had two actually)
D - big ol' salad, lentil soup from the freezer supply

Other than that just super busy with work as usual. Soooo much going on. I managed to get out of there not too late today, but I have some things to work on tonight.

    Evening, ladies…

    Today went like this:

    Coffee
Oatmeal, blueberries, cinnamon, flax meal, organic soymilk (water and soybeans) teaspoon maple syrup
Sandwich…Ezekiel, avocado, tomato, red onion, herb lettuces
Two corn tortillas air fried turned into chip, corn salsa
    Spaghetti with spinach and sauce

Dessert…nice cream chocolate banana with walnuts or sweet potato with maple syrup and walnuts

Great job snagging bathing suit on sale, Carla …weight loss is never linear…it’s zigzagged, hopefully more zig than zagged. You’re down ten points…that’s totally fab!

Nice work getting all your gbombs in, Mihani!

Into my second week on no processed food. Love it…feel like a WFPB GROWNUP now ! 🌱💚🌱

Wraps and veggie sammiches are my favorite thing, Nanc! Your sandwich sounds great.

Work is amazingly busy, but the new gal is a BIG help. She is taking on a lot and seems very interested in learning everything she can. Woohoo!

I'm just worried about overloading her and getting her stressed out.

    B - smoothie
L - some vegan frozen thing I can't even remember now... yeah not good lol
D - big ol' salad with some beans added
    S - almond milk yogurt

    Thanks, Mihani…

Also, oatmeal for tomorrow and spaghetti for dinner.

Today was allergy attack day…it day started out fine and the about mid morning it started…it attacks my eyes…Burning pain and I cannot open them . Drops did not work nor Allegra. Flushing them with water and cold compresses helped. Finally was able to sleep.

So I had oatmeal for breakfast and rice for lunch…maybe sandwich for dinner.

    Talk to you all later.

Oh, allergies are awful, Nanc! I have suffered with sinus and allergy issues my whole life. My dog doesn't do well with the spring pollen either. I have to give him benedryl or he will scratch and rub his face on the carpet until he's bleeding. Fortunately it's only a couple months a year for him.

Boss out of town this weekend and I am going to work, work work.

I made a big batch of E2 hummus when I got home and going to continue my wraps and sammiches this week. I really enjoy those and I get lots of veggies and lettuce in there.

I guess it's really not E2 hummus recipe anymore, because I add my own twists. I drain the chickpeas over a bowl so I can use the aquafaba for liquid which makes it creamier and tastier. I use 2 cans of chickpeas, garlic and other spices, about 1/4 cup lemon juice, a couple tablespoons of dijon or spicy brown mustard, and 1/4 cup aquafaba. Let the food processor run and add a bit more aquafaba as needed until it's the right consistency. For spices I usually add lots of black pepper, a bit of cumin and paprika, maybe some other spices that appeal to me at the moment.

I'm going to have to call the doc this week. My shoulder/arm pain is getting worse and I guess I'm going to have to give up hoping it will get better on its own.

allergies - that's why Ruby's face has been itchy! I was just scratching it for her 5 minutes before seeing your posts.

hope that's the end of your allergies, Nanc. sounds miserable.

I always change my recipes up a bunch over time too, Mihani. I need to do a better job of writing down my edits though! We'll make something 50 times and then not make it for a year or two and then what was automatic is forgotten and the recipe is never the same!

Heading up to Canada this weekend for a few hours to visit family. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

hope work goes well for both of you this weekend! *hugs*

Hi, all! I haven't done a lick of work yet today but will get at it shortly. I got motivated to cook this morning. I made a soup with onion, mushrooms, red potatoes, black eyed peas, cabbage, chard, lots of spices, veggie broth. It turned out really delicious! If I recall I used garlic, cumin, coriander, celery salt, paprika. It's thick more like a stew.

I had a bunch of green kale and one of purple. It was too much to add to the soup so got out the wok and cooked up chopped green onions, chopped broccoli, and the kale with garlic. Made a pot of whole wheat pasta and tossed it with the cooked greens/veggies and a bunch of black pepper and nooch. It is tasty but a little dry. I probably needed to add a little veggie broth to it. I'll play with this creation next time.

I do enjoy following recipes but sometimes it is more fun to just get creative and make something on inspiration. I have had a few failures but for the most part I'm really good at making up great recipes on the fly. I never write them down or remember them of course. LOL

I'm going to have to portion out some of this stuff and freeze it though. WAY more food than I can eat before it goes bad.

Maybe Ruby needs some benedryl too, Carla. I give puppers one in his breakfast and dinner. It is usually just late March through May that he needs it. Ask your vet for dosage.

I used to hate writing in cookbooks, wanting to keep them pristine, but now I write notes all over recipes I try and modify.

    Have fun visiting family!

    Nanc, how you doing?

Got up reasonably early for a Sunday. First load of laundry is in the dryer and getting ready to eat some brekky. I'm happy that I have plenty of food prepped for this week already.

B - ezekiel toast with avocado, arugula, sliced tomato, cantaloupe and honeydew
L - some of the soup and pasta I made yesterday
D - same as lunch, more melon

Going to dig out my knitting bag that has been collecting dust for years now and watch some youtube videos to refresh my memory how to cast on. I just want something to do besides putz around on the computer when I'm not working. I never learned to do anything more than a straight stitch but that's fine. I made a scarf quite a few years ago that is looking pretty raggedy so I will make a new one, then maybe look at learning some new things.

By that time the laundry should be dry and I can head up to my desk for the rest of the day.

Morning all..doing great…I just had two really bad allergy attacks, last Thursday. One right before bed…but, surprisingly enough I slept well when I finally did go to sleep…so I had a good day, Friday. I had to wear my sunglasses for the first three hours, because the light really irritated my eyes. And no attacks since.

Very sorry bout the puppets’ allergies…that has to be hard to watch. Poor babies.🐾❤️🐾

    Menu

    Coffee
    Oatmeal the usuals
    Air fried French fries
    Watermelon
Yes! I finally made 3 spring rolls. My first successful attempt. Not pretty…but kinda good. Ingredients:
    Herb salad
    Avocado
    Cucumber
    Carrot

Peanut sauce: PB2, lemon, Tarmari, maple syrup.

Hope to get better with practice!
    Cold spaghetti

    Corn on the cob
    4 crunch master crackers

    Nice cream

Hi Nanc, you're doing great! How are your knees doing?

Busy day as usual. got home late. Going to bed early. Boss is out tomorrow so I have another no-boss day to continue catching up.

    B - smoothie
L - leftover pasta and greens, honeydew
D - bowl of soup, hummus and veggie sammich on ezekiel
    S - some pretzels

I portioned out the rest of the soup and froze it because I have too much to eat up this week.

Way too early morning, sweet peas!

Knee is doing great…four more weeks of PT …ONCE A WEEK

DONE with spaghetti for awhile. Miss that sammich (Mihani 🙃) too much.

    So today…

    Coffee
Oatmeal, blueberries, soy milk. I do not like cooked oatmeal…it’s the slime factor.
    Veggie Sam
    Air fried green beans
    Sushi…it almost stayed together.
    Watermelon

Mihani, I picked out a perfect watermelon 🍉…FINALLY!

Sweet, juicy, crisp. Trifecta of watermelons.

    Hugs 🤗 to you both!

ETA: I do better when I eat breakfast. My dad was right all along. 😉🤣❤️

My dyeing classes finally started this week! So far they are in depth and what I was hoping for. New modules are released each week, which is good so that I don't get carried away and try to go too fast.

Tonight we're going out for dinner at a steak & seafood restaurant that Joe's dad picked. It has 1 appetizer and 1 dinner on the menu that can be made vegan, and luckily enough both sound good. It will be outside of my normal eating window, but I didn't have breakfast until 11:30 this morning, and our reservation is for 5pm so that isn't too bad.

My health insurance provider decided I'd had enough PT, so they cut me off abruptly. I think if I keep up with the stretches and exercises I will continue to improve, but if not I guess I'll have to go back to my doctor and complain.

I've been okay with food for the most part, but I've been eating past full at dinnertime so that I can have fruit with nut butter after my meal.

Looking forward to some good watermelons in the near future. Thanks for the heads up!

Yay, Carla on your dyeing class…how super.

I think I got my PT extended because of Medicare…four more appointments and I am done. My bend really is as good as it’s gonna get…but they are working on breaking up some of the scar tissue, from over fifty years ago. No fun.

So instead of spring rolls, I made sushi…it almost was deconstructed…lol…three fell apart. I ordered organic sushi rice…and a mat …hoping that helps

I’d like to get good at both sushi and spring rolls to take to family gatherings…such a wow factor . And then I am assured of something to eat.

    Having veg sand for dinner.

I have a daily harvest order coming…they owed me $35 bucks …so I just ordered 12 minestrone soups. Arrives tomorrow. Simple, pure ingredients (see below)…210 calories. I had it back in January…I did like it.

organic zucchini, organic tomato puree (organic tomatoes, citric acid), organic chickpeas, organic kale, organic yellow onions, organic extra virgin olive oil, water, organic yellow onion puree, himalayan sea salt, organic garlic, organic black garlic puree, organic basil, organic oregano, organic black pepper, organic red chili

Glad you are enjoying your classes, Carla. Love your enthusiasm for always learning new things. Hope you have fun at dinner.

Nanc, I have two sushi mats and they really do make it easy. I love vegan sushi but it's a lot of slicing to get the veggies prepped. I'll be on the lookout for watermelon now!

Good day at work. Still behind but feel like we're slowly getting on top of things. One of the other gals is off for vacation next week which won't help.

    B - smoothie
L - leftover pasta and greens, honeydew
D - ezekiel toast with hummus and veggies, cantaloupe

Instead of Sammie for dinner, I made three more summer rolls. Got a tip from WELL YOUR WORLD Dillon Holmes. Use acrylic board …not wooden when putting down rice paper and assembling. Less sticking.
Picked up fresh mint and cilantro at Asian market..and THREE LADIES VERMICELLI.

CUCUMBER, CARROTS, MINT, CILANTRO, HERB LETTUCE, VERMICELLI…I LOVE THESE. GOING TO MAKE FOR WORK.

    Sorry bout the caps.

Place completed summer roll on lettuce leaf, no touching each other…less sticking.

Can’t wait for my sushi kit to arrive.

I don't have the patience for making sushi! I bought the mats, but now they get used for my fiber arts projects! It all worked out, because now we make our sushi bowl instead and I have art supplies :) Sushi definitely has that wow factor though.

We had a lovely dinner with my in-laws. My dinner had a lot of oil in it, but it was good. The appetizer in particular. I had my first bite guys, and I almost spit it out because I thought they gave me an appy with beef in it! It was instead mushrooms marinated in something divine (on toast). I also treated myself to a blueberry pomegranate cider. Lots of calories in the meal, but I skipped lunch and didn't snack to help offset it.

We invited my in-laws to join us in Mexico for part of our trip, before my parents arrive. They will either do that, or we're going to plan for another trip with them, maybe for my bday next year. It will be my 50th. I am hoping they decide to wait so that we can take another trip! But either way it will be fun.

    Today's plan:
coffee x3, which I don't always list here, but always have
    blueberry oatmeal
    apple w/ nut butter
spaghetti w/ baked tofu, walnut parm

look at that...no greens, have to start making more salads as meals, especially now that I'm not having daily smoothies with greens in them

how have you been sleeping, Nanc? Are you using the sauna in the evenings and does it still work for you?

oh and weight loss update - down 12 lbs total, 38 to go. slower than i'd like, but in the right direction for the most part

Everyone's food and energy are so amazing right now! You gals keep me going when I'm not feeling it that's for sure. Woohoo on another pesky pound gone, Carla!

I am finding my days at the office getting better and better! Still long hours and lots of work, but at least I have dependable, enthusiastic help. The whole atmosphere of the office has changed.

    B - ezekiel toast, melon
L - last of the leftover pasta and greens
S - a handful of organic wheat crackers
    D - veggie sammich

I have GOT to lay off the bread and crackers. Yikes!

Great job, Nanc! Did you make it to the sauna?

Busy week and I'm going to the office at least for a while tomorrow. I can't get anything moving off my desk during the week it seems. I'll stay for half a day then bring more home to do over the rest of the weekend.

    B - smoothie
    L - soraya bowl, melon
    D - veggie sammich

The Chef Soraya bowls aren't bad at all! Not 100% since they use white rice, but pretty good for a quick lunch later in the week when I've run out of prepped food. At least they are no oil. I got the variety pack to try them out. The only one I didn't much care for was the chili lime.

Off to get dinner and do a few chores, hang out and watch a movie and work on a puzzle. Trying to get away from so much computer time lately.

Hi all, I'm new to this group, and actually pretty new to myfitnesspal. I was on Sparkpeople for years until it shut down last year; that was when I migrated to MFP.
I'm 100% vegetarian and about 90% vegan. I tend to revert to just vegetarian when I eat out or at someone else's house. I've been relying on too much packaged food (veggie burgers, sausage, etc.) and am trying to get away from those things. Now that I've retired I'm hoping to make a lot more of my food from scratch to get away from the processed stuff.
Glad to find this group and hope I can make some meaningful contributions.

Hello Spring! Great to have you join us! I do the same thing - plant based when cooking at home, but I will eat vegetarian at someone else's house, or in a pinch at a restaurant.

It looks like it will be a gorgeous weekend here in our corner of the PNW. It is 8am with nothing but blue skies and sunshine. It has been a chilly and wet spring so far, so hopefully this marks the end of all that nonsense! I'm done with the dreary!

I am down another two pounds this morning. It jumps up and down, but I'll take it. and record it. and talk about it LOL

    plan for today

    coffee
    blueberry oatmeal
last of the spaghetti w/ red sauce, baked tofu, walnut parm
honeycrisp apple w/ 2 Tbsp almond butter (I always end up having this snack so may as well record it!)

I guess with this nice weather I better get out there and do some yard work!
    Have a good day all!

Welcome, Spring! Glad to have you here. We're a small group but we're fun. :)

I think the Engine 2 Seven Day Rescue Diet is really perfect for people getting into WFPB. Full of simple, easy to follow advice. Lots of bowls, flats, salads. I follow that general plan most of the time because I can prep and have things ready to throw together in no time all week. I follow Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live if I'm stuck and can't lose for a while. Limiting starches is generally better for me, but oh how I love the starches, it's my favorite food group! LOL

Personally, I have been struggling with the same 20 to 30 pounds for years. I like to drink on weekends, and eat too many starches, and sometimes fall back on frozen entrees, and am not consistent about exercise. A lot of barriers to optimal health and weight there.

But hey y'all, I did the treadmill every single morning last week. EVERY morning. I'm pretty sure that's the first week I didn't skip a day or two. I finally built the habit, and wake up in the morning thinking okay gotta get my shoes on and jump on the treadmill. I don't do much in the way of speed because after that nasty fall a couple months back (which I think has resulted in permanent scars on my knee and shin) I realized that I'm just not awake enough to go for speed. I have added incline though, which makes for a better workout.

Got up early and went to the office. Stayed about 4 hours. Got my desk somewhat cleared up and organized ready for next week, things emailed out to clients for review, etc., but I talked to my boss and he's going in for a while tomorrow so he'll probably screw it all up. Ugh! Brought home stuff to work on here tonight and tomorrow.

Not sure how much I'll get done tonight though. I started soaking spelt berries this morning and they are cooking now. I'm going to make the OSG protein power goddess bowl. I haven't made it in years and love that recipe. I'll have to make some adjustments to the lemon tahini dressing to leave out the oil. Should have enough for several days of lunches on top of lettuce greens.

I have a new obsession in doing jigsaw puzzles. I am on my second one and just ordered a few more. Used to love doing them but I quit for a long time when I had two cats because they would always scatter them and lose or chew up pieces. I miss the dearly departed cats, but I guess the silver lining is being able to have plants and do jigsaw puzzles again.

Anyway, the puzzles seem to really distract my mind from several things such as eating, drinking beer on Friday night, and dwelling on work stress. Winning!

B - ezekiel toast with avocado, arugula, sliced tomato, some melon
L - nothing yet... probably just some almond milk yogurt and fruit since I will be having a big dinner
D - some of the OSG bowl recipe, salad

I'm chatty this afternoon. Better go get busy!
