Hi all, having a rough weekend and can't wait for the 2 weeks to be up for sutures to come out. My clever pup has managed to work his way out of the head wrap multiple times which is very frustrating but so far he hasn't done any damage to himself. I will have to try the e-collar in addition to the wrap if he doesn't stop this, but he's always been good at getting out of that too. He's pretty doped up so that helps. If he was at full capacity there's no way he'd tolerate that wrap for more than a minute.

    Plan for today...
    B - smoothie
    L - veggie sammich
D - lentil soup from the freezer and salad
Probably an apple in there somewhere.

Changed my mind on dinner. With the chaos this weekend I forgot that I bought broccoli and asparagus. So I'm making a pot of brown/wild rice mix and going to roast broccoli and asparagus, plus saute a pan full of beans (not sure what kind yet) onion, and baby spinach. Will make a nice bowl of all that. I'm craving something like this right now. I need to keep up healthy habits and take care of my boy.

Thanks for all the well wishes y'all. We're hanging in here! Going to be tough leaving him to go to the office this week but my boss is very open to me working mostly from home. Then I may take him to a friend's house next week so I can work a little longer in the office, if he's off all these pain meds by then and can get in and out of the car.

I am going to tell the woman at the gym when I go for my initial meeting, that my goal is to get strong enough to lift my dog!

Keeping your boy in our thoughts and prayers. Here’s to a relatively easy work situation to allow you to be with him.

Today marks 31 days that I gave up all processed convenience frozen foods…Gardein especially ( fish, beef, chicken) , a variety of frozen entrees, some frozen vegan taquitos (can’t remember the brand)…anyway you get the idea. Best decision ever in my vegan 🌱 vegan life. I still use a few plant based cheeses…not a lot, not every day…but I still count my PROGRESS as a huge 🥇 win!

    Today…

    Coffee
5o/50 plate hash browns with onions, peppers, mild green chilis and a ton of spinach
Lasvash wrap…had one yesterday and the combination was outstanding…so for our pot lick this Friday, I am going to make them for the girls in my department…another gal is leaving.

Anyway, it was Trader Joe’s Lasvah, minimal ingredients…herb lettuce, mint, cilantro, red onions, red bell peppers, cucumbers, olives, bit of avocado and a vegan dressing…used a pastry brush to apply just a thin layer…full flavor with minimal amount. Oh my lord, it was so delicious! Today I will add a few crumbles of TJ’s vegan feta.

    Minestrone

    Fruit cherries. Nectarine, watermelon

    also, some homemade yogurt

    Have a delicious day everyone!

Your menu sound wonderful, Nanc! I love veggie wraps and sandwiches.

I ran down to the office just to grab some more work and go through the mail. I was only gone a couple hours but I was a wreck! I didn't like leaving him one bit. I took the extra precaution of putting the cone on him in addition to his ear wrap. He was fine, and I knew he would be, but it didn't stop me worrying.

Got busy at 7 a.m. and worked until 11:30 then ran to the office, home and having lunch then back at it for the rest of the day into the evening. I lost a lot of time this weekend I planned to use catching up on work.

B - oats with blueberries, chia/flax, a couple walnut halves, cinnamon
L - leftovers from last night (oh that was good!), an apple
    D - more leftovers and a salad

Mornin' all! Goal today is to stay home all day. I ordered a new cone from amazon that should be here today and I'm hoping both pupper and I will be more comfortable with it and I'll feel better about running to the office for a few tomorrow. I went back to sleep for a bit this morning so I'm getting a late start, but heading to my desk momentarily. Which is actually a table that I moved into the family room to make a temporary office since I don't want him attempting the steps to go to my real office upstairs.

    Plan for today...
B - ezekiel toast with a smidge of PB, leftover roasted broccoli
L - big ol' salad, mixed berries with yogurt
D - leftover rice and cooked veggies

Anybody inspired for a June thread title?
