@leanz - oh, that's tough. But staying off it now should lead to better things later.

Back safe from vacation and trying to get back into life at home again! Had a fabulous time and did all of the things and took many, many pictures! I still have to go through them and weed them out, but I'll post some here and there.
Dave
Photos from Day 1: View from the plane (possibly over Canada?), the views in and around the VRBO we stayed at. The roads leading up to it were so crazy steep, I was worried whether our rental pickup would be able to make the climb! (It did....over and over. lol)
My fave color is purple so I loved that there were those purple flowers all over the place! They're called "Fireweed" flowers and they start off purple, but as the Fall season comes around, they start turning red at the top and that moves down until the entire thing is red and the flowers fall off. The turning red signifies the end of "warm days" before winter sets in. Interesting fact: Many Alaskan residents wanted the Fireweed to be the state flower as it is beautiful and abundant, but the committee that selected which flower to represent the state went with the "Forget-Me-Not" because they didn't want a flower with the word "weed" in the name.
