    Happy and blessed Sunday

@NovemberGail - you can share and or copy any of the quotes I use.

Nothing too much new here, a bit chilly, rain is due next week. Thunder storms on Thanksgiving, we aren't going anywhere so it won't matter. Have a great rest of the day and good new week.

    Some exercise humor.

    Good Evening Everyone!

Today has been freezing with snow most of the day. Walking to and from Church definitely is a test in this weather. But glad for the insensitive to get my butt moving this morning. Enjoyed coffee hour after Church. At home I made brunch for Hubby and I. Did dishes and laundry as well. Got my program for TOPS finally done. Just have to organize and staple pages. For dinner Hubby and I had chili and cornbread. Back to work tomorrow and training the new cook for dinner shift. This is going to be interesting. Hehehe

    Good evening, all!

Today was a bit busy. This morning was dedicated to praying and reflecting, as well as going to church. Then, there were 3 cottages that needed cleaning and then I was determined to finish a book, Songs in Ordinary Time by Mary McGarry Morris. It took over 100 pages before I got into the story and then I didn't want to put it down. The book is 740 pp. about dysfunctional families, etc. and my title would have been, The Book of Lamentations - but still quite good.

Glad to read, Connie, that you don't have to do long days like that very often. There you are getting snow and we are promised warmer temperatures this week. Looks like I'll get some work done outdoors.

    Lindie, great photos!

Diane, I wish you had telepathy to talk to Billie. She just doesn't understand.

@Kurtize: Thanks for the permission. You share great inspirations and humor!

This plant was so delicate. One of its leaves looked like a ballet slipper and the texture reminded me of an iris.

@Kurtize,,,, It's sort of COLD OUT!! Its 27 (though it is 9:30 PM) LOL Feels like 16 (F). We had a fun snow squall come through earlier today. It was fun watching from,, INSIDE! BUT NO SNOW AT ALL in our forecast in the foreseeable future.
@Cseguin2 ,, Brrrr Brrrr!!! Indeed its wintah time for many. YUMMY Chili and cornbread!! Such a fun combo!! HAVE FUN training someone tomorrow for cooking the dinner!! Could be quite fun to do that. I LOVE training others!! The gentleman who in 2020 retrained me (it had been over 25 years LOL) to cashier was so funny!! I was able to relax and learned so quickly!! I hadn't of course forgotten a lot of stuff, mostly the codes for produce and bakery (though now most bakery items now scan). The customers, he and I had WAY TO MUCH FUN!!! They were lined up "to go through the lady's line" cause of the FUN we were having. That set me up again to continue to be through the time I was there. I WOULD STILL BE there if my foolish heart said "WANNA BET?"
@Novembergail,,, LOLOL THAT BILLIE GIRL!!! SO FUNNY to the MAX!! Oh what a COOL picture!! It really does look like a lady slipper!! We had a few growing in our backyard. When we first moved in, my Mom must not of looked around the yard, when one of us (NOT RAISING my hand, but I am still embarrassed,,, hehehehehe I DO Relate to Billie!) picked a lady slipper. My Mom FREAKED OUT!! Immediately ALL 8 of us were summoned and told "its ILLEGAL TO PICK THESE!! Do so again and I'm going to have you arrested." She said it firmly, but of course we knew she'd not have any of us arrested. LOL She had a strange sense of humor, as do I. I love it so much. I often hear the same words out of my mouth I heard from hers ,and I just start to giggle. They were purple and pink, so PRETTY!! Every year we'd sit and watch those, knowing they were so cool. LOL I just looked it up it's NOT illegal in the state of Maine however it's preferred to leave them be. But on private property you can do as you wish. LOL A part of me wants to drive over to the old house in the summer next year and see if they are still there. I DOUBT it the people who brought the house are "ever just so." My Mom kept a very good well taken care of yard, but back "then" no one had others taking care of their yards on our street as they do now. Back at "that time" we were to busy just keeping the dinosaurs out of the garden. :#

    Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Thank you for noticing I was not on Sunday. Joe ran video for the Church on Sunday and we had to be there at 7:30 am. Well due to the roads and ice we had to leave at 6:30 which means I did not have time to get my morning stuff done like I normally do. Joe loves being involved with the church and I am helping getting him there again by insisting that we go to church every Sunday. So he figures if he is going to be there he might as well help. Especially since the Pastor is his cousin. So he helped for both services yesterday and he really enjoyed it. So he will be doing it more often.

@Dianedoessmiles1 - I did get a shipt order. They lady was so happy with my service that she gave me a $25 tip for my troubles and going out in the bad weather. Joe's family is feeling more like family and I love going there. Saturday night I made dinner for all of them. Usually it is them making food for us while we are there and this time I made food for them. It was great. They loved the food too. Which made it even nicer.
@cormierannie - That is great that your friend is going to help take a look at things you need fixed. I have Joe and we try to fix things on our own first and then reach out to his Dad as his Dad knows how to fix a lot of things.
@NovemberGail - I get not wanting Billie to be choked by her own collar. That worries me a lot with my dogs too. It does sound like you enjoyed your new book though. Sometimes it does take a bit to get into a book.
@CSEGUIN2 - That is a lot for a weekend. We did almost nothing on Saturday. I got a shipt order though. Glad you get to train the new person. That is better than just working with them and they do it all wrong.
@Kurtize - Well I hope the thunderstorms are not severe. A little rain never hurt anyone though. So hopefully it is not bad for you.

Well it is time to get ready for work. I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning folks, the above link is to a news story about an 80 year old Senior in BC who just relased their first album - it's an interesting story and thought it would be good to encourage us to continue to pursue our goals on this challenge and not stop or give up or take a break - at least I know for me it is encouraging and I hope you find it the same. I am never too old to acheive my goals especially my healthier life style goals.
@Tabatha_Cain hope you had a good day and good that you are feeling comfortable with your new family.
@NovemberGail I sure do love the stories of Billie and hope you continue to share - love the pictures as well. I've taken pics of mushrooms here in BC but can't find them so I must have deleted them way back when. A Sister in our congregation does beautiful artwork with all kinds of nature in them, including mushrooms!
@Dianedoessmiles1 well we are warm enough for rain and rainning it is so inside today for work outs.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday !

Went for a BD dinner with neighbors yesterday..our favorite Mexican place..Cactus Flower. Food is always good..but they added a special touch to the Spanish Rice..it was seconds worthy!! No I did not ask for seconds..and only ate half of what they served, big platters!! But was the best rice I have had ever!! We had a nice visit..then they came over with their clippers and got that long claw off of Molly's broken toe. She loves Tom and trusts him, so he was able to work with her and keep her fairly calm while doing the trimming. At least now the claw is even with her foot and not hanging down waiting for the chance to hook on something and injure the toe even more. The swelling is down and she walks on it normally most of the time. Basically nothing to do for a broken toe except wrap it and being her Pinkie toe , I am not thinking wrapping would be a great idea.
Our snow is almost gone ..temps in the 40's but wind chill is brisk. Unlike days of yore when I would be out bundled up and doing..I now head for the house once chores are done. I can think of a dozen reasons to be IN the house and not a single one to be out there freezing .
OH Billie..your adventures are bookworthy!! Tell that Mum she needs to get a book together of your tales..yeah she might have to confabulate a bit as I am sure you won't tell her the whole story aye!!
Diane...I have been sneezing like crazy..those clear the room kind of sneezes. The storms bring in new and foreign pollens that my body rebels against. I thought the snow might help but evidentially not enough.
Today I need to get lil ole Tom Turkey out of the freezer..let him get over his frosty attitude then he will be ready to pop into a warm toasty oven. I am thinking seriously about doing the foil outline of a bikini on him to see if it works..should be good for a few giggles if so!! Also got to get my list together for tomorrows grocery adventure..we will see what the store has left at this late date!!
When I make chicken soup..I add at least 2 or 3 bullion cubes to pop the chicken flavor, plus somewhere way back I heard or read-never let it boil, simmer slowly but avoid boiling. Using drumsticks adds flavor..then it is empty the fridge time..any and all veggies are likely to become victims, if I have time and am in the mood there will be home made wide noodles..if not the packaged ones will do. I usually also do a small pot off to the side to store and top off the pups dry food just enough to make them munch while leaving a lil crunch. I also keep chicken broth stored in the freezer that I have made..for a quick meal turn around when needed. Never tried barley in it..has anyone? I mean my mind goes to beef and barley not chicken..mmm Next project will be chicken pot pie..I would love to have some little ramekins to make it in..maybe someday I will treat me to some. I love chicken pot pie..
Ok ..now I am making me hungry..get off the food truck kiddo..almost time to feed the littles...

Good afternoon and happy Monday and new week. It rained this morning but right now sun is trying to come out. 52 outside. Weather man now says just rain on Thursday which is ok with me.

Kayla goes to groomer tomorrow and next Monday goes to vets for teeth to be cleaned, she had her annual physical last week and is in good health, except for the tartar on her teeth.

That's it for me, hope you all have a good day, hugs and blessings.

Good afternoon folks, thanks for asking about Amigo, we are back from the VET with Amigo. Gene did not want to take him, had visons of having to put him down and he said he would rather him die at home naturally - well I won, we got to the vets' and they did blood work which cost me 240 = Gene sent me the money to pay but in the end, they wanted to keep him, said by his blood work he is very sick and needs "investigating, IV, anemic, possible cancer... well Gene and I discussed it and decided to bring him home. They gave us a prescription to be taken 2 daily by dropper - yea right - ever try giving a cat dropper meds ? It went EVERYWHERE but in his mouth - he did get a little bit and he is NOT happy with either of us. Hopefully the next med will go better. I did ask them if he had gotten his first dose, nope never even offered to give it, just as well, it might have cost more. They wanted to keep him to the tune of 1600.00 to 1700.00 and more - nope no payment plan, not doing it. I think she saw my earrings which the vet commented on and thought I had lots of money up me .... well no I do not ... and I told her I was a senior. They did keep the bill under 300.00.
@Katiecondy1 thanks for telling me how you make your chicken soup. Every time I make it it is bland and tasteless so boullin cubes it will be next time. AND I will keep it on simmer. I like rice in mine along with vegetables.
Gene looked up Amigo's med and it is for a bacterial infection... which one we do not know... life goes on. He's gonna go buddy up with his buddy.
I need to get some exercise in, pacing at the vets did not get me anything but did get some steps !!

    Good Evening Everyone!

No training the new cook. Maybe Wednesday we will see. He has another job that he works afternoons.

Today was an off day. Slept most of the morning and then got up did some dishes and laundry before work. Felt better while at work. But did discover that my left shoulder is bothering me. Not sure what happened. Maybe I slept in it wrong. Hopefully it feels better soon. Does cause discomfort at work. Tomorrow is TOPS and I am doing program about fiber.

@Tabatha_Cain ,,, WOOHOO SO HAPPY you got an order!! That's so nice, and to have a generous tip to boot!! YEAH YEAH!! I think I just heard another wedding bell ring!!! Glad the meal you made came out good!!
@Patti241,,, It was cold. Tonight is better. SMART going to the store. It's only 1 day and it's so weird watching how much people put into it. Give me a Sunday, some friends and FOOTBALL!! WOOHOO!! LOL Yesterdays Pats VS Jets was so PAINFUL to watch, right up to the last 26 seconds when the Pats FINALLY SCORED then we cheered. LOL
@Lindiemaep ,, OUCH on them wanting them to keep him and run the bill up super high. The last time I took Izzy in, they wanted to do a full workup on her heart my question was simple "Will it change the outcome? Her treatment?" They said "no, but we'll know exactly what's wrong with her heart." "But again, will it change her treatment?" "No." I WANTED TO SCREAM THEN WHY DO IT? Instead I just shook my head "I love Izzy so much, she's such a great cat, but a workup, would that not traumatize her? The last time someone here went to take blood they blew her vein, it was so hard on her and myself." SIGH SIGH!!! I did tell them that I'm going to go with quality over quantity."
@Macrat12,, OH Sarah,, that looks so YUMMY!!! TY TY TY!!
@Katiecondy1 ,, Awww YUMMY on the rice, and so HAPPY that Tom helped out Molly so much!! TY TY TY Tom!!! Hopefully Molly will be very good to go very soon!! LOLOLOL I saw that turkey on FB with the bikini on (outline from the foil) and I laughed and laughed so hard!!! It's as funny as the poor kid who was helping his Mom clean out the turkey and did not know what the neck was. He was 10 years old and he thought it was something it is not!! He was GAGGING SO BADLY he "touched "IT" I was dying with laughter!! I've seen it in the past, but it never fails to stop me from a fit of giggles!! Maybe next year it won't be at 1 AM!! I DO Have neighbors and the type of laughter it makes me do is NOT A GOOD QUIET One at 1 AM!!! I miss my old neighbor who'd always ask "What were you watching last night? It was so funny hearing you laugh so hard." She loved it though I'd often wake her up. HI CR From Izzy and I AGREE that @Novembergail SHOULD write a book, but SO SHOULD YOU!!!
@Kurtize,,, Awwww Kayla you are getting ALL PURDY!!! GULP I paid 800 in 2021 to have a FRONT TOOTH taken out of Izzy's. Rain is easier then snow! MANY times as a kid we'd get all bungled up and go to my Grandparents. They also had a place on the ocean,,, awwww it's down the street where I live now. I loved it as a kid, no doubt their excitement and love of the ocean and Grampies deep love of SNOW Influences me to this day!!!
@Cseguin2 ,,,, Oh the off days are just so off kilter!! For your shoulder, on youtube there are TONS of exercises for the shoulder. There are 2 physical therapists Bob and Brad who do so many around various exercises, but I've followed them for my shoulder and it really helped if you ever need it. Please take care.

    Good evening everyone,

It was good to hear from so many of you. I would like to respond to each but my eyes want to close.

@KatieCondy1: Hey, I like the book idea. Maybe we should co-author one.

@Dianedoessmiles1: I thought I heard laughter about midnight. That must have been you all the way upstate!

    @Kurtize: Thanks for the inspiration.

It was a rather slow Monday with warmer weather. My heart goes out to the New Yorkers who got so much snow. That is a lot of shoveling out.

The word for tomorrow is SURRENDER.

"Return to sender , ,address unwanted!! No such plows, no can go places" etc. etc. ,, because tomorrows word is surrender, which is close to sender, which connects. Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. I am doing really well this morning. Only today and tomorrow left of work and then I am done for the day. Things are going to go well today. I sold a policy yesterday and I was the first one with a sale. Not a huge policy but it was decent. Then on Monday I am selling another policy. That will be great. I am excited to sell that policy. It is going to be a good one.

@LindieMaeP - That is great that the 80 year old was able to sell their first albums. It is inspiring. I am glad I get along with my soon to be in laws. Sorry about Amigo. I hope it is not cancer.
@katiecondy1 - Glad you had a great dinner with the neighbors. That is great. All that food talk make me kinda hungry as well.
@Kurtize - That is good that your animal is healthy. I should get my dogs in for teeth cleaning but their vet says it isn't that bad that they need it yet.
@CSEGUIN2 - Hope your shoulder feels better soon. My elbow is hurting so bad. Darn Tennis elbow. I hope your shoulder gets better soon.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - I was super happy about the shipt order and then the meal came out great.
@NovemberGail - I was super tired as well. I get that. I had heard that in some places in New York they got 5 ft of snow.

Well it is time to get ready for work. Have a great day

Good morning, an interesting article that I think can go hand in hand with the buffet rules - I love almonds so this would be easy for me to do.
Amigo got his 2nd dose of meds - Gene could not give him the first one then had trouble with the stopper - sigh - I burrito'd him this morning and between the two of us gave him it. He's not eating the food a lick here and there, so I tried mixing half and half of old food new food and see which will entice him to eat. I may have to go get some parmegan to also help entice him to eat. He gets his next dose at 6 pm ... be interesting to see.
@Tabatha_Cain glad you got a sale of a policy and hope you can do more! Have a wonderful day at work and enjoy your time off.
@Dianedoessmiles1 I know what you mean about quality over quantity. I think the vet thought I had $$$ stashed somewhere as she commented on my earrings. They are special - white silver with pink stones so look rich ... Anyway, there is another place we can take Amigo if necessary, I'll get the address from our neighbour.
@everyone have a wonderful day today and enjoy what ever you have planned, even if it is work, have fun! Cause you can !

On November 20 I posted a photo of what I thought was a plant? Here is the response I got from Mo. Dept. of Conservation -- frost flower

If you’ve been out exploring the countryside on a cold, late-autumn morning, you may have encountered the short-lived frost flower. Not really a flower at all, frost flowers are delicate, beautiful ribbons of ice crystals that form on the lower stems of a few species of Missouri native plants.

Frost flowers typically occur only in late fall after the first few hard freezes and while the ground is still warm. Their season is brief, and they disappear quickly on the day they occur, melting like frost when the air warms or rays of sunlight fall on the delicate structures.

I feel like a won a lottery! Thank you, Billie, for dragging me out into the woods

@Dianedoessmiles1 when will we be able to join our InBetween groups? I thought invites would have gone out by now as we only have 3 days left to the fall challenge... Thanks muchly, I finally got Amigo to eat some of his treats, I also researched changing his food and he should have 75% old to 25% new so I will fix him a new bowl and toss what was left. Since I only give him 1/4 a serving 4 x a day I will have to figure out so that the friskies is not over powered by the new as I gradually give him the new better for him. He's still mad at me for forcing his meds...

@Tabatha_Cain ,,, WOOHOO On the sales at work!! WTG!! It's fun watching you be excited and enjoying work!! To help dogs (SO MUCH Easier than cats!) with tartar in their teeth it's pretty easy to brush their teeth, youtube has many videos on how to do this without any trauma. Dogs live to please us, but CATS LOLOL If a cat likes us we've EARNED IT!! LOLOL Cats can be such twits though they are very very cute also.
@Patti241,, HI Patti!! WOW It's so nice here today!! Hope it is for you also. Its currently 42 and feels like 46. I went grocery shopping (hit it JUST RIGHT at 1 PM for only 2 in line ahead of me!) on the way home I was so hot I took off my light jacket!
@Lindiemaep ,,, sadly our pets get older and that's the way it is. Of course usually at 12 to 14 they do pretty well, it's usually around the age of 16 we face the issues we are with our sweet kitties. But, I refuse to make Izzy's life longer, but with some trauma. @Lindiemaep ,,, when ever one switches a cat over,,,, usually its done slowly because cats are TWITS and BRATS!!! LOL I am sure thats why they are so adorable!! At first a 25 new 75% old for a few days, than 50/50 for a few more days to see if they are still eating it well, and tolerating it it okay, than 75 new to 25% old ,,, once you are sure kitty is okay, or if you wish to use it all up,,, that all works.

@Dianedoessmiles1 thanks for responding to my question about the IBC - I will be watching ( and was lol ) and Yes I jumped ship, I need to spread the love and help other teams too ! Thanks about the food, I googled it and found that too, however, Amigo is NOT biting and not accepting the new food. He did eat some treats this morning and that is that, other then the meds, he's sleeping in his tree right now, has a horse ( if a cat can have one ) meow so we are watching that too. Gene thinks he has a sore throat ... and has cat covid... sigh... someone help me, no never mind it will all work out.
I still need 19 min of exercise and then I am done for the day - it's raining so no going out and it is a cold rain too so inside it is.

    Good Evening Everyone!

Today turned out not to bad. It was sunny and reached the low 40s F. Gained 1 lb this week. I was honestly surprised it wasn't more. I'd did program at TOPS this week. Should have proof read what I typed and printed out. Oh well. There was a couple of issues with the residents today. But that is expected when dealing with people that suffer from mental illness. I stood my ground when needed. They had chicken legs, oven baked potato chunks, peas, potato soup, turkey gravy and pears for desert. Had to get creative along the way as we ran out of potatoes and then chicken. So glad to get out of work on time tonight.

    Good Evening everyone,

Today was beautiful--in the low 60's. I worked steady and slow today. Connie's menu is making me hungry tonight. Looks like it's Thanksgiving on the brain.

@LindieMaeP: I'm glad to hear that you are singing and dancing in the rain. That is the weather forecast for Thursday, here.

Again, I am sorry to hear that Amigo is having a hard time but is enjoying treats. Sometimes, our little ones need to be spoiled. I like what @Dianedoessmiles1 believes: quality over quantity.

As for Billie, she was as good as gold. Yesterday I had to fill a huge hole that she dug. By huge I mean at least six large rocks and a fourth of a bucket of river rock and then two buckets of dirt. Lifting those containers need to be counted as strength training.

    Tomorrow's word is: POWER
