Happy Tuesday!
I get the thrill of going to get my winter tires put on and an oil change for my car today. What fun. There is no waiting room at the little garage I go to, but it is on a beautiful gravel road with excellent walking in all directions, so I should get in some good steps today. I'm aiming for a perfect day today - my weight this morning was NOT a number I wanted to see... I succumbed yesterday to a millet and date pudding that was way more calories than I needed. Vegan, no sugar, but still plenty of calories. At least it is all gone now!
I'm going to have a couple of car-free days coming up, looking forward to having the whole place to myself and no way to go anywhere except on foot5 -
@conleywoods I either want to be one of your guinea pigs or can you please come and decorate our apartment?!
@kto0194 Welcome, this is a GREAT group!
@micki48 Ugh, I know what you mean about the photos. Happened this Thanksgiving where I looked at the photos of me and thought, nope!
@jugar I made a conscious decision to not replace my car when it died a week before we left Vegas. I can walk to most places I need to go and I can honestly say, apart from maybe one or two days, I've not really missed it.

Yesterday was a perfect day. Today is looking that way if I keep focused and mindful

@LoraineGB sadly I could not live without a car - the nearest town is a few miles away, and it is pretty small. But it sure is fun not to go anywhere anyhow. I do that a lot even when the car is here! And - congrats on the perfect day! Don't they feel fabulous?
I had a fantastic walk while my car was worked on today. Two hours of beautiful back roads, all gravel, a grand total of 5 vehicles went by the whole time. That felt good, and I arrived back at the garage just as he finished. Perfect timing and I'm up to 15,811 steps. An enthusiastic young labrador retriever joined me for part of the walk, and he wasn't having anything to do with "go home!", so finally his owner had to come and pick him up. I guess he saw me go by and figured it out His buddy, a well-behaved Rottweiler, stayed home like a good boy.
I'm hungry! There is rapini6 -

Thank you all for posting. I appreciate your posts.
Not much to report. Met my steps. That’s about it. My foot is killing me tonight. Burning and numb toes. I think I may need to see a dr about it. Can’t figure out if it’s my toe(nail), a Morton’s neuroma or both. The burning numb part is pretty annoying. Sitting with my foot elevated. Helps a little.
My son got home safely to North Carolina.
Keep up the great work my friends. My mojo is hiding around here somewhere. Did make my salad for lunch tomorrow.

@micki48 I hope your foot is sorted soon, that sounds really uncomfortable.
Welcome @kto0194 this is a great group! I'm another who used to have a horse, but since losing him over 5 years ago, I am reluctant to dip my toe back in the water due to the expense. Instead I spend a lot less to see a personal trainer once a week; great for training if you have injuries/niggles. I'm a huge fan of physiotherapists who provide training because then you know they really know what they're talking about.
That's made me think... I've not been on the physio table for weeks now. Must be doing something right! My trainer tried to make my arms drop off yesterday though as we worked on shoulder stability; 10x 20kg overhead squats in the warm up then 40x 20kg barbell shoulder press, 40x 5kg each dumbbell shoulder press, and 40x 3kg fly with a controlled descent and stopping part way down. Getting less controlled with each rep lol. I am amazed that I can brush my hair this morning, so it must be due to hit me tomorrow.
My dietician appointment is booked for Friday. My weight has been trending slightly upwards this last month, and I feel like I'm starting to lose my waist, whereas before now I've carried the weight well. I was looking in the mirror and feeling bad, which gave me the push I needed to get something booked. I hope we can find a way forward where I can both combat BED and lose weight through healthier choices at the same time. I'm a little nervous that it'll be one or the other.6 -

It looks like November was another maintenance month. I have pretty much stayed the same for 2 months. I HAVE to push myself this month. I really wanted to end the year slightly lower then I started, but I have given up on that. I would need to lose 5 pounds this month, which I know isn't impossible, but I personally have never done that and during the holidays would be extra challenging. I am going to set a 3 pound goal for December.7 -

I'm super happy with the loss this week with Thanksgiving and then traveling most of the weekend. I stuck to my plan of eating what I wanted on Thanksgiving and listening to my body so I didn't over eat. Hope you all have a great week!6 -

I told myself I could eat what I wanted on thanksgiving and then get back to it. Obviously that didn't happen. I definitely ate better on Monday and Tuesday, but not perfect. I also haven't tracked anything in 6 days 😳
So my goal this week, is to start tracking every day again. I hate how it's cold and dark early and that decreases my motivation to work out or go for a walk to get in my steps. I might try to find a workout video (dance or pilates) to do on my days off from the gym. Does anyone have any that they like to use (free would be ideal)? I am about to start looking on youtube.7 -
Greetings Friends!
So I have started the virtual Yosemite Nature Park.
Just 5% complete, but I'm happy that I am actually off the starter's blocks!

I hope this looks better?

I'm not normally a fan of coloured Christmas lights, but these are quite pretty 😍
What do you think?

@YinxFed Nice lights! I especially like the way they reflect on the cars. And the Yosemite hike is off to a great start
such a quiet rainy day here - it started off with very high winds, but now it is much quieter and a bit gloomy. I survived my long dental appointment this morning, mainly by doing my most challenging battery of breathing exercises. By the time they finished, I was breathing SO slowly nothing could have bothered me. Gotta get ready for that 32" note! It's coming along. But it's also workout day, and I guarantee I won't be breathing slowly for that. Enjoy the rest of hump day, you working folks!

It's not quite either of those two but I love Yoga by Adriene.
Lots of people like Caroline Girvan's Epic too.
Some of my other groups speak of doing Fitness Marshall dance videos.. you can string as many together as you want. I've never tried.
Nice @YinxFed .. both the lights and the walking.
It's COLD here. My goodness. I had a low step day yesterday because I missed my lunch break but I was back on my 10K track today.
@KellyBgetsfit Sounds like the right goal for a December. Being realistic but challenging is the right approach I think.
Off for a good night of sleep. Back for weigh-in in the morning!5 -

I was doing so good and my weight was down...then my 90 year old grandma broke her hip. I only ate 2 meals yesterday but they were very comforting and salty. My grandma had surgery yesterday but her surgery was originally scheduled for the surgical suite my sister works in so she had to get rescheduled for a different team later in the day. It went well and she is pretty motivated to get back home to her kitties.
We are getting lots of snow and we are on our 2nd day of snow closure for school. It isn't too bad but I don't think they have the snow plow staff to get things cleared in timely manner. Our dirt road hasn't been touched yet.
@YinxFed Love the lights and great job on the walk!
@jugar glad you made it through the dentist. My boys were supposed to go yesterday but we canceled due to snow. They were crushed! They love the dentist LOL!3
