@DianaGetsFit512 Last call to get your steps for the final week of the November challenge (Nov 27-Dec 3) in for counting!! I suspect your steps will push our progress week over week to swing in the favor of improvement4

I take Apple Cider Vinegar gummies, I get them at Walmart. Idk if it helps but it’s part of my vitamin and mineral line up and I always feel better when I’m taking them3 -
@EvMakesChanges As someone with two cats at home, that made me chuckle. Thanks!
@conleywoods How heartbreaking. Sometimes it's so hard to control the emotions that turn us to food when the world deals us something which feels so unfair. My heart goes out to that family and to you as a caring member of their lives.
@kto0194 Way to start your time with the team with a loss! We are glad to have you and I look forward to getting to know you better. Same to you @annieo22 ... you've joined a great group of people!
Things are going reasonably well here today.
My 7 day rolling weight average peaked on Nov 27 and it's been slowly coming down since. I have had the longest streak of poor tracking (not tracking at all, only tracking breakfast, tracking until I got out of control, etc.) the last while, but today I have all bites properly accounted for.
My dad has been here since Sunday. As I haven't been doing well mentally and have been feeling overwhelmed, it's requiring specific effort not to have his company, which I am SO thankful for, feel like it's adding stress. That's not the sentiment I want to focus on, but it's taking conscious thought.
Exercise has been pretty good the past couple days, which always makes me feel better.
I just may post a loss tomorrow yet... a minor one, but I'll take that right now.
See you in the morning

lauren_989 wrote: »@jugar what part of NC are you visiting your mom (if you want to share)?
She lives near Charlotte (in Matthews). Then we'll go down to Aiken, SC for a few days. I have never been there - it is supposed to be lovely!4 -
@ashleycarole86 Great to hear that you hit the Peloton and logged all the bites. Those higher weights sometimes inspire us to do better, once we get past the feeling miserable about it part. I'm glad your dad is visiting, and totally relate to the stressy side of visitors. It is wonderful, but it can add to the stress for sure. It is fantastic that you are taking him to deal with hearing issues. That can make such a big difference. You're a wonderful daughter!
So, on that note - the Thursday people's turn is coming!

@lauren_989 I have taken apple cider vinegar in liquid diluted with bubly and orange flavored stevia. It is hit or miss if it bothers me. I switched to gummies since I will be taking it so often. The gummies should be apple cider vinegar with the mother to get the benefits. If I drink it I always use a straw to protect my teeth. I also liked your post about party and event days versus regular days during the holidays. I almost skipped my workout this morning, but your post inspired me to keep pushing ahead.
Thank you all for the kind words. I really appreciate them. I don't lose a student like that very often but it does happen. Some of those children are so fragile. I can't work with babies. One of my first babies I had as a client passed away and I was like "nope".
Today was a better day. My work out happened which was good. I knew I was going out to lunch with a friend but didn't know where. I did a really good job fitting my calories into 3 meals. I didn't hit 500 calories for each meal. Breakfast and dinner were just over 400 calories and dinner was a bit over 600. No snacks!
@ashleycarole86 Being a good host is definitely work! I hope you get to enjoy some time together but I totally get that. Great job getting back in the swing of things!6 -
good morning all, I'm Sylvia here in Massachusetts, and a longtime Waistaway. My weight has swung up and down through life but never staying down for long...it will be a lifelong battle and I'll always have to be conscious. I'm a snacker, a too-big portions, and a stress eater. I did great in 2020 - was a bit obsessive, weighing everything by grams and tracking every morsel. When and why I stopped? Not sure now but likely life's curveballs hit and a day missed here and there just led to a string of them..and ultimately I fizzled out with that habit.
Like most, I have quite a few stressors in the mix but things have calmed down mostly. It felt like November went smooth...at least not gaining, and I was checking in on here often which always helps, even if not posting much, just reading, but this last week hasn't been great and I know why, I tried to keep things in the house that I just can't keep - marzipan logs from Aldi being one. Back at it for December.

Happy Thursday!
So my plan to stick with a mocktail didn’t happen because work was absolutely bonkers, but I did only have two drinks over the span of 3-ish hours so not bad. I had a big salad for lunch and then at the Mexican restaurant I had tacos and some chips and salsa/guacamole.
I started the day with a 20 minute HIIT workout on a treadmill at the hotel to challenge myself because I am not a great runner. I surprised myself for being able to do the sprint intervals at 6.0 mph, so that was awesome!
I am going to get another salad for lunch today (the place we order from really makes the best salads) and then I’ll be home for dinner which will be a healthy Skinnytaste recipe.5 -

@wishfuljune Sounds like you have made some really great choices even if it wasn't exactly what you planned. Nice job!
@eggfreak So nice to hear from you and glad November felt better even if a marzipan log gave you a hard time in the end. The grocery store needs to sell bites of certain foods!2 -
@AshenMoon Fantastic! You are our shining tiara wearer so far this week
Woot! 😊2 -
Right at this moment, you are the people I really enjoy and need. I just had one of those horrible conversations with the taller half that went into the Territories of Inflexibility and I feel like running away. It will pass, but I am glad to be able to come into this place where we are working on keeping an even keel, sticking with healthy commitments, and letting go of harm. I'm not feeling like drastic action is needed, but there are many questions. It is amazing how the edge can suddenly appear sometimes.
@conleywoods and @ashleycarole86 great job this week!!!
@wishfuljune it is so cool that you missed your mocktail goal, but crushed some HIIT, sprint intervals, and salad game! OK, maybe not cool that you missed a goal, but super cool that you did not let that wreck all the others. Inspiring!
Tally ho, all!3 -
@jugar I live in Greensboro, NC which is about 1.5 hours north of charlotte. Have a good visit!
@conleywoods and @LoraineGB thank you for the advice on apple cider vinegar gummies!
I have been doing slightly better the past 2 days, which is awesome. Although at work I had my blood pressure checked (training from other staff) and the first time it was 143/84 and the second time a bit later was 148/74. I was like, oh I've just been running around and it's at work. Well, I got home amd checked my blood pressure after relaxing for a while and it was 141/81. Ughhh I hope that motivates me further, not to end up on blood pressure medicine at 36 years old 😫6 -
@lauren_989 it is AMAZING how fast your blood pressure comes down with even a modest weight loss. You have already lost 23 pounds, and now if you get on the next 20 or so, it will really help. You've got this!2

I agree with @jugar- while I'm sorry your BP results aren't where you wanted them, you're doing the work to move the needle
@jugar Thanks for the words of encouragement. This is definitely a good place to be.3 -

Small loss, but I'll take it. I've been logging everything, and I'm closer to maintenance calories most days than I'd like. But, unlike years past, I am logging it, even if I'm going over my goal calories.lauren_989 wrote: »Ughhh I hope that motivates me further, not to end up on blood pressure medicine at 36 years old 😫
I railed against it, too. My BP had been perfect for a long time, and suddenly after my labor, in which my BP skyrocketed, it was constantly low-level high. So I take a low dose of BP meds, have since then, even when I got down to the 160s in weight, my BP was still a little high without meds.
Sometimes weight loss won't fix blood pressure, sometimes it will. If it doesn't, though, it is okay. Better to take a pill daily than harm your body by constantly having high bp. It sucks, but we work with the bodies (and their associated problems!) that we have.

That number is from Wed. I couldn't get into Community. I only tried once and didn't have time to try again. The scale is even higher today. Not sure what is happening. Usually, I know why the scale is up, but I haven't eaten anything to cause a jump this week. I actually had a salad for lunch and light dinner and it was up almost another pound today.🤷♀️
@conleywoods sorry about the music concert. That must have been frustrating. Good job getting back on track.
@ashleycarole86 I am sorry you have been struggling lately. Great job getting in your workouts. Are there short 10 minute workouts on the Pelton app? Last year when I was struggling, I found even a ten minute workout made me feel better. I should try that now....
@wishfuljune that definitely sounds like a win! Great job on the workout and food choices
@cupcakecrusoe did you have pre-eclampsia or just high blood pressure? I had pre-eclampsia and hello in my first two pregnancies. My second was born at 29 weeks. The other 2 they induced/c-section as soon as my blood pressure started to spike. My blood pressure returned to normal but I still worry about it long term effects. It puts you at high risk for heart disease later in life
