@bowens1973 I totally understand and you are absolutely among friends. We all hit hard times and you definitely have a lot going on. Sounds like you have some great things in place to help you move forward. Life was different when you started your journey. Work and long drives suck up a ton of time. I know you will find a new routine that works. Just keep trying, that's all we can ask of ourselves sometimes. Motivation comes and goes. This is a great time to work on being disciplined. We use discipline to get to work when we don't want to. We all need to continue to work on discipline with our health too. Hugs❤5

Dec 16 exercise:
7704 steps
I wanted so badly to hit my 10K steps but it would have required me to go out for a second walk and I just couldn't get the energy. Oh well. I plan to hop onto the Peloton today! As I said yesterday, my exercise stats for week 2 are trending to be an improvement over week 1. Small steps!4 -
@jugar can I be moved to the support team for the rest of December, it's just too much right now to do this6

Greetings Friends!
Ben and I had a lovely Christmas supper last night - I may have over-indulged with the cheese but baked camembert is soooooo goooood! And as vigorous as my morning's workout was today, it won't save me from tomorrow's weigh in (just saying).
Nevertheless I have put the tree up. I have trimmed it and I now just need its branches to settle before I dress it properly tomorrow.
Oh, and I have ordered a stationery exercise bike - it's coming on Tuesday - Christmas present from Ben! I hope that it will help me up my Cardio output as well as improve my step count. Liselyn (@jugar) often mentions getting on her exercise bike while watching a TV show and it would make really good use of the time I spend watching the box - thank you, Liselyn.
Back tomorrow with my weigh in.4 -
Happy Saturday night -
This is probably the most challenging time of year for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere. It is dark. It is cold. There are holidays and celebrations galore. Our bodies want to settle into winter.
It will change soon! The solstice is in a few days, and then it will start to get lighter. Slowly then fast. We will all click onto that energy and things will get better. Stick around!
Then there is also the aging body. We need different things and amounts as we age. And the different activity levels have a bigger impact. And letting go is hard. But if the changes happen, we feel pretty danged good. Stick around!
In other words, don't panic. We've got this - as long as we don't give up.
@bowens1973 yeah, it is hard to get through this time. You have lost almost 75 pounds and @ashleycarole86 118! You both blow us all away - amazing hard work. A small setback during a time of big change happes. Stick around!
I am at my highest weight in the past few years, but I know I'll pull it together. I have not stopped working out, but have to rein in the intake again soon. I know what to do, as we all do. Aim for the good old veg, fibre, and smaller total quantity. Fill up those spaces with something else. Tell us what works, what is a disaster, what looks hopeful. If you find some good tools to work with, share! We all need the help.
@YinxFed and her new stationary bike. @ashleycarole86 and her Peloton and second walk. @CaroleAnnM2 and her new hips! Let's find our new as the solstice approaches. The longest night isn't the end. Hugs to you all!!!6 -

Sunday weigh-in:
PW - 185.1
CW - 185.1
Standing still - but I'm happy with that!
Back later with my stats.

Always good to come here and remember that a small slide is not a retraction of all progress! So logical when it's said out loud, but the brain tries to tell you otherwise!
12/17 exercise:
5813 steps + 42 minutes Peloton
Chose a tough Peloton class too - felt good about that!
Food had good elements and not so good elements.
It's snowy and cold here, way too cold for my little dog to go out for her walks (-23C /-35C with the windchill). I got all my steps indoors yesterday cleaning. We'll see what I get up to today!5 -

@jugar I jogged 1x this week at OTF
Not many steps this week, was sick on one day I was supposed to go to the gym and then work dinner on the other day.
I made bacon this morning and when I opened the oven, the steam hit my face and omg that was hot! I think it's a sign I shouldn't be making/eating bacon 😂5 -

I was around 165ish half of this week but it seems like the less carbs I eat the more the Rash and other symptoms, the more carbs, mostly gone. Getting tested in January so for now, gotta figure out a middle ground.
Congrats @micki48, I know it feels good.
Bowens1973 I feel your pain. Im there as well.5 -
Thanks @ashleycarole86 . I cooked keema pie for supper, from the Pinch of Nom cookbook. It's an Indian-inspired cottage pie. And it was yummy!5

Have a great Monday 🌹❤️7 -
Sunday is almost over! We had a busy day - but really nice. I walked with mom this morning - twice around the perimeter of the entire place where she lives - we were talking away, so the distance was easy, and at 92 my mom kept up a great pace!
I played for a meditation session and a simple gathering this afternoon, and it was lovely to meet and spend time with my mom's friends. There are some pretty amazing people here. One woman has just about everything Shakespeare ever wrote down by heart, and a man told a story that was almost identical to something that happened to my daughter - it was a good day.
Monday's coming right up! How does that happen... Ready to go?

Not liking the weight slide. I have been tracking 20% of the time. This week should be easier, my son being with his dad. It's weird how a doctor visit, an evening getting the xmas tree and going to my storage unit to hunt down decorations sucks up my precious "free time."
Got some pre-planned salad meals for this week.

Happy Monday everyone,
Honestly, all the reported step counts that I see in this team are truly inspiring to me. I am so poor with my steps. One of my big goals for next year is for 10,000 steps a day to be my norm.
But for now, I will do what I can, when I can to improve my movement. I am particularly mindful of this because yesterday was a bad MS day for me. But I had a good night's sleep last night and feel much better today, certainly well enough to work out and go to my English language volunteer group this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a grand day and I will be back later with my stats, Ashley (@ashleycarole86)!

Hello all, Sorry to have been SO absent on here. I've just read thru the chat from about page 7 and already I have some things to think about - @conleywoods 'body can only handle 700 cal before...." ...that will be popping into my head. And of course the holiday challenges - our work has postponed the potluck party until sometime in January - morale was so low and combined with people taking vacation days before they expire, no one was signing up for bringing food. So, I'm saved from that, for now.
I've taken a couple of days off - need to deal with the chaos/clutter I've created in every single room of the house - must get stuff to the charity shops/dump, etc.. But it's not all work, tomorrow will get up super early to beat the traffic thru Boston and meet up with a Maine friend for breakfast & a brisk walk.
I have greens in the fridge - I WILL make a lovely salad for lunch today.
Have found Jamie Oliver's One Pan Wonders program - love it! Haven't made anything from it but like some of his hacks for a quick, beautiful meal. Not always calorie friendly but I've learned how to adapt.

I am exhausted. I cried a lot yesterday. There is so much to do still. I have to bale, wrap more presents, and clean out the younger twos rooms. The older girls and I took my mom to a tea room. That was nutcracker themed. It was really special. My teenager is extra teenager-y and my 3 year old, is an emotional hot mess right now. 3 more days. 3 more days.7

Happy Monday friends! I think this is the first time I’ve ever made it to the all teams board. 😂 Hopefully I can hang on to it. I’m home now and have access to food 24/7. We ate out yesterday for lunch but I split a salad with my daughter. I also had a few cheese fries and a cup of cream of turkey soup. I know the soup is not a great choice, but I cannot resist diner soup.
Watching Alvin and the Chipmunks 🐿️ with Juliet and the plan is a trip into Princeton to go to Costco and Trader Joe’s.
I’m going to either walk or do Pilates today. Hold me to it. My right hip has been giving me pain lately. Once I get moving, it’s better. I also figured out that it feels better when I turn my foot way out which rotates my hip. Not sure what is up. But on my list is to contact my primary doctor about PT for it, meet with a dietician (I learned I have 5 free visits with my insurance) and get help with the foot pain on the opposite side of my hip. I wonder if they are related?
Got to get this granddaughter fed.4 -
Hugs to you @kellie_erin - I can't remember how I kept holidays together when my kids were young, and I only had 2!!! It gets rough, and I hope you have some time to sit and breathe at least, and enjoy the time if possible.
@micki48 Yes! PT for that hip -- I'll bet all the change in the bottom of my purse it is related to the foot on the other side. I'ts also great to hear some inspiration about keeping the diet moving in the right direction. I hope you were able to get to the Pilates today - there are so many good hip moves in there. If you can't fit anything else in any time, do a few hip bridges. They feel great no matter what. Speaking of which, I'm going to do some before bed!
I had a crazy day today. Luckily it started out with a fantastic exercise class. My mom's complex has a good gym and daily classes. This morning was a challenging circuit training kind of workout - and it was set up that you could do each exercise at any level. I chose my weights last because I'm a guest, and the smallest left were 12 pounds, so I used them throughout! For some moves that was quite a good challenge. The music was terrific, even though the young woman who was leading the class had no idea what Motown was! She asked for music requests and one spry fella asked for Motown, and she dutifully found a greatest hits playlist. Then asked if Motown was a group! In any case, there were some great tunes and we had a lot of fun.
Then it was straightening out complicated banking issues day. Ugh. But we got it all done. Now mom will have to find something else to panic over
Thanks for the news @eggfreak - so good to hear from you! Have a fun walk in Maine.
No Tuesday weigh-ins, so enjoy the day and check in with news any time!3 -
@jugar Love how you always find a way to keep the exercise up even when you're away from home! Laughing about the Motown thing...
@KellyBgetsfit The holidays can be so tiring. Sounds like you're going to fall into a pit of exhaustion when it's all said and done but I'm sure your family so appreciates everything you do for them.
@micki48 Food sharing at a restaurant is such a good strategy! I used to do a bit of that with Brad but we haven't been so good about it... it's a good money saver and the calories in a full meal are usually best split!

Tonight we went to Gardens Aglow. It's the Mizumoto Japanese Gardens with lights. It was wonderful, the air was crisp, it wasn't too busy, the music was good and Hudson sniffed to his heart's content. He bounced around like a puppy, it made my heart so happy.
We finished walking around about 6pm, at the end of the walk there was five concession stands offering donuts, cocoa, coffee and hot cider. Although I didn’t eat until around 11am today and had plenty of calories left, I passed and stuck to my ‘start fast’ time of 5:30pm.
I am a person who does Intermittent Fasting!
