@megnolia82 That's great I'm glad you can take a probiotic now, get that good bacteria back in your body. Thank you, the food bank farm is new and the school greenhouse said we could have some space in there. What I really like is there's now a head volunteer who focuses on the food bank farm and food bank and he donated some grow lights to the kids at the school so hopefully since we're willing to help them they'll keep having us back. I grew up in San Jose and we didn't have anything like this, they have a great 4H and agriculture area here as it was a farm town before.
@Cornanda I wouldn't be surprised if you're doing better than you think! Gus sounds like a sweetie, I'm so glad you added him to your family.
@Brigit42 It wasn't to me but I 100% agree about coffee and pet snuggling! One of my cats wants cuddles every morning so he leans against my chest and I hug him to me while he purrs his heart out for a bit and relax. I read somewhere cats sit on chests to heal people which would be really sad but sweet too if he's trying to make me feel better.
@trooworld That stage of getting a new phone ready is the pits, hope you love it now that it's good to go!
@19shmoo69 I didn't realize you were doing meat only, aside of the one time how long did you go? I've listened to lectures about carnivore only diets and how they can help many health issues, it's pretty fascinating but I used to not eat much meat so I think it would be pretty hard.
@txcritter69 I hope your husband is hanging in there with his back. Sounds like you've had a lot going on, the weather sounds like a pain! Haha I was just wondering if there was more cat hair than normal, don't they need all that hair for their winter coats, what the heck?
@Jessicakrall8 I'll be there! Gang this is a fun challenge, Jessica gave us a list to choose 5 things to work on for the next week that you can modify to your particular situation if you need to, I hope you give it a go!
Hi everyone! I had a busy day but it was really fun, started off picking up the last Valentine's box in a business then went to the Farm and Garden meeting where the head of the food bank farm talked. I sat in on a talk last year but couldn't swing the application fee to join but joined today. It's really fun, they had lots of free seeds, a woman gave away plants, there's a book lending area, and a raffle plus extra produce then an awesome lecture. The next meeting is going to be about succulents which I have a lot of so I'm crazy excited to share cuttings with everyone! The vice president of the charity I'm with is heavily involved in it and we both had the card proofreading to rush to after it for the Cards for Seniors. My neighbor went again, so happy she's getting out more. I didn't do too hot with cookies and pastries everywhere though, I'm over today and trying not to eat anything else as I'm not feeling too hot from the rain. Just did a small workout, I'm off to take a bath then get in bed and read. Have a wonderful Sunday team!7 -
@Katmary71 I've been meat only going on 2 months. During church potblessed meals I indulge a little bit. Years ago I had problem with sugar. It caused physical pain and instant hardness just below my sternum. It seems it has returned minus the hardness. But the pain is excruciating. I look at it as a bonus. Eating no sugar is healthy. Now I have a physical reason to say no to sweets. Uniquely I've learned it is difficult to feel full from carbs until it's too late. But then I feel like I'm starving shortly afterwards.
I used to joke about the struggle being real but the more educated I get about myself the more the joke is less a joke and more a reality.6 -

I'm due for a follow up with my GP and I'm going to request a referral to an endocrinologist. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism; my weight just stays the same regardless.
Anyone have any experience with an endo and what blood tests they run?6 -

Free seeds! That's awesome. Looking forward to seeing your plant pictures again. I think your food bank is so amazing. Sounds like you're constantly eating fresh food. (They are lucky you volunteer so much time there.)
~Love to hear cats purr, very soothing~ Animals do seem to know when we're down.

@19shmoo69 I'm sorry you are stressed. You don't eat anything besides meat? That would drive me crazy lol. I see you weighed in and the gain wasn't as bad as you expected. I'm glad! I think it's always better to face the number on the scale.
@txcritter69 LOL I know, we are a chatty bunch! Yes! That's exactly how I felt. Great job with lunch! I bet your pup was itching to get outside, huh? That weather you guys in the east are having is crazy. My dog (a pug) sheds all year long a LOT. I got used to going places with dog hair all over me lol. Enjoy the chilling and crafting!
@gemwolf110 Congrats on the loss!
@Katmary71 Thanks, yes it is! I do love it and it's all set! Sounds like you had a full day. I'm glad your neighbor is getting out now.
Hi all. I kind of choked yesterday, not a good day. But today is a new day and I'm ready to face it head-on!
MY NO-ZERO DAY WIN FROM YESTERDAY: I ate a light breakfast/lunch knowing my dinner would be an indulgence and tracked everything.

@FushiaKat - I forgot to say that your cactus garden (and the view from your home) is just gorgeous
@vegan4lyfe2012 - THANK YOU! for the lovely card! Ya'll- she makes the most beautiful cards! You should PM her!
@trooworld - glad the phone is set up. It's fun to get a new one, but not fun until you get everything the way you want it. Sorry to hear that you choked, but today is a new day, so go get it! Did you take your photos?
@19shmoo69- stress eating sucks. And it's a habit that's so hard to break. Try not to let it throw off your momentum- you've been doing well with your diet for two months. Just overlook it and move on. Don't beat yourself up.
@Katmary71 - coffee and cats sounds nice too. I think it's awesome if your cat is trying to heal you. Garden club sounds like heaven for you!
@bethanie0825 - hope the endo can help you. That's frustrating.
@txcritter69 - Trapped in the house with an energetic dog sounds challenging, as does driving around in that weather. Hope for good weather for you this week!

Happy Sunday Everyone!
I'm just sitting here reflecting on life and thinking on how blessed it is to see a brand new day. There are issues in my life that I'd like to be different but when I put them up against other possible scenarios, I'm blessed! My goal today is to make good choices and be intentional. (Note to self: I will log my food in my fitbit app today.)
I love this quote from @Katmary71:
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."

@Katmary71 Yes my cat seems to be shedding more then normal but I think it might be due to us really not having a winter. Last week we were in the 20's and 30's and this week we are back up to the morning lows around 40's and the high of almost 70's. So Feb winter is over.😂
The garden and farm thing sound like fun. We don't have anything like that around here.
@trooworld The last 2 yrs were Crazy. This year's winter is a normal one for us. We are in for a lot of rain this month, but we will just have to see. We have a saying here in Tx. "If you don't like the weather here, wait five minutes". I am looking forward to the nicer days with a lot of sunshine.
@Cornanda Yes, he is very energetic. He love to play fetch so he will bring his toys (one at a time) to you until you toss one. I don't know how many time I had to puck up his toys and put the back in his toy box.
Yesterday Brittney(daughter) and Kevin(SIL) came over and while the guy were in the garage Brittney and I went through the stuff that I have been decluttering. We also went through 2 of my 3 closets of clothes and she took all of my size small to medium. I decided it was time to let go of all the wishful thinking that some day I will fit in them. I am going to live in the now. When I do lose my weight, new clothes will be my reward.
Today they are coming over to finish up working on their SUV and she and I will continue to clean out my main closet. I have a lot of make up and nail stuff to pass on to her.
This afternoon we are then going to see Stephen(son) and Tiffany(DIL). My hubby's mom and 2 of our nieces are coming along.
I definitely going to be a busy day.

@Cornanda – You are welcome!
Sorry I haven't been on here lately. I was upset with myself over my poor choices I was making at the beginning of the week. I decided to concentrate on getting back to my whole foods (beans, grains, veggies) and I was so happy to see a loss today. I really thought that pasta salad was going to do me in.
Did some grocery shopping with Hunter and picked up lots more fresh veggies. Roasted a pound of asparagus with some minced garlic this evening...just planned on having maybe half of it with a salad. OMGoodness! I couldn't help myself! Ate it all I just finished roasting 6 more poblanos (love those peppers!) and cooked a pound of Rancho Gordo Alubia Blanca beans. I plan on prepping my salad toppings (shred some red cabbage and carrots and cut up the radish) so I will be ready for this new week. @trooworld - you asked me to think about the macaroni situation and I believe the problem lies with not having a sufficient snack around 3pm. That would tide me over until I get home and can get dinner thrown together. I will plan to bring a healthy afternoon snack with me to work. Thank you for making me think!
I hope you all have a peaceful evening...have a relaxing cup of tea! (Yes, @19shmoo69 you are allowed to have a cup of decaf coffee instead )

@trooworld - I love that someone else drinks a ton of water. Do you catch slack from any of your fitness friends for it? I have on several occasions and I have no idea why?! 😂 It’s like … I used to only drink 32 ounce sodas and glass after glass of sweet tea but that was fine???
@lrjogger1 - love those wins!!!
@sleepygirl79 - tomorrows grocery day, I’m gonna shoot for lots of fruit! My sweet cravings are bad this weekend.
@micaroo4, @JenAWhite, & @Brigit42 - sorry y’all are chilly, we were too (kinda) until today…I think it got up to the upper 60’s after being only 16° just a few nights ago.
@megnolia82 - oh no!!! I was thinking about you while watching an old episode of Grey’s Anatomy. I’m so sorry it didn’t help you but I sincerely hope this round works.
@Katmary71 - I’m so sorry for the flare up issues. Damn lady, everyday, all I can think is man, I wish I was as strong as her!!! You amaze me!!! That meeting sounds so fun, glad you went full fledged this year and I hope you continue to enjoy it.
@Cornanda - I need to take lessons from you and learn how to short draft my thoughts and stop writing novels.
@txcritterd69 - we got the other side of that ice storm…I think ours was very mild to y’all, we didn’t get near what they predicted. I love decluttering! Kinda wish I had a home to decluttering, moms is about finished 😂 I’m thinking I need some new clothes too!
@askewcr - your post makes me think of one of my favorite sayings, “if everyone threw their problems in a pile and we saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back!” I hope your situations get better and I too am glad you’re enjoying another day! Great job resisting sweets and getting that water in!
@vegan4lyfe2012 - yes indeed . . . THANK YOU so much for that cute cute card!!! 🥰 I was supposed to go hiking yesterday and I was gonna grab you a postcard and we didn’t go! Tuesday for sure I’m getting you one! Sorry you felt so bad but hey look at those end results!!! Just keep pushing!
So Friday I started off great…wasn’t really hungry at the family dinner but did eat and made healthy decisions. Funeral lasted almost two hours, that is a lot of crying. I ended up leaving with a head ache. My brother invited me over for dinner and I had him grab me some low percent alcohol, it was a while before we ate and even though having a few drinks distracted my mind, it nor the headache medicine I had taken earlier helped the headache. I made sure to exercise with my nieces before going to his house but didn’t realize that I missed closing my move ring and steps by a smidge! 3 days into the month and I let all my perfect logging goals slide to the wayside. It was probably for the best though because although I got my Saturday exercise in super early and made it to my nephews basketball game, the headache got slowly worse and turned into a nauseating migraine. I went back to bed yesterday at 1 and slept until 4 am. It was kinda nice to just rest even though I was in pain. I did splurge for a soda but what little food I was able to force down wasn’t much. I didn’t log it but I’m sure I was within reason if not under goal. I wish I had been able to drink more water, I’m sure it would have helped.
Today I was up early for church, made lunch for my uncle, mom, and son. Went for a 1 mile run, walked a mile, decided to see if I could beat my first mile time and ran another mile! Yes I beat my own time! I can’t remember the last time I ran 2 miles! 😃

Oh so funny! I was watching call the midwife last week and the doctor prescribed metronidazole, a newly approved drug, for some sort of liver disease. And that’s what I was taking at the time. It made me so sick, I was looking at the character like “well she should be puking her guts out right about now” lol!

Today was the last day of my work’s 21 day fitness challenge. I didn’t participate every single day, but I did a good number. There were always 2 options so I chose yoga rather than aerobics a couple times. I chose “drink your water” rather than “try a new recipe” and a couple days I skipped when I just couldn’t get through a workout. But it was nice to be able to participate. We have this virtual y membership and there are dozens of workouts and programs so I really need to try those out and take advantage of this membership!
Does anyone meditate? I’ve done it a few times on retreats and I really enjoy it. On Sundays during this challlenge there were guided meditations but I didn’t really love any of them. I like the body awareness type meditations where you lie down and release tension and move your body a little bit. If anyone has a favourite YouTube channel or a site you use for meditation I would love to check it out!1 -
19shmoo69 It's a great way to look at it seeing the pain as a bonus for avoiding sugar. I wonder what's going on? Sugar makes my pain worse, I can have a little in coffee creamer but when I have more I remember why I don't. Carbs are hard to feel full from!
@Bethanie0825 It sounds like an endocrinologist would be the next logical step for you, I haven't seen one so can't offer any insight there.
@Brigit42 I look forward to sharing the food bank farm pictures, they're more exciting than my home garden that's for sure!
@vegan4lyfe2012 @Cornanda I agree with Lisa and thank you for the beautiful card, they're so fun to receive! I've very touched to be receiving them, thank you!
@askewcr I love you reframing all that's going on with you as a way to look at it as being blessed. The quote was from @trooworld but I absolutely agree it's a great one!
@txcritter69 I saved clothes for when I lost weight and when I went in the closet to check them out they were not in fashion anymore, buying new stuff is definitely fun! My body is different at this age then when I was younger too. Have fun cleaning out your closet, going through your makeup and nail stuff sounds like a blast but I love makeup! Have fun with the family.
@megnolia82 Love your attitude about the loss! It sounds like you have a lot of things you can try through the virtual membership, that sounds fun! I do like meditation but don't do a lot of it.
I don't have a favorite YouTube channel though, I did enjoy doing chakra ones for awhile where you focus on different areas or chakras of the body then move to the next one.
Woohoo, Mission Slimpossibles in 3rd place, way to go team!
@gemwolf110 @davors19 @Vegan4lyfe2012 Way to go team winners!
@sleepygirl79 I hope this is a better week for you, keep up the great work!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Oh that asparagus sounds awesome! At least if you overeat asparagus it's like next to nothing as far as calories, what is it like 28 calories/100g? Yum sounds like you have a lot of great things to add in different ways ready to go to have an awesome week.
@shaunarlr83 You're too sweet, thank you! Yes you all will have to put up with all my excited garden chatter for awhile after meetings, I told my SIL it was a room filled with garden nerds and was freaking awesome. Two hours of crying would be real hard, I'm sorry to hear it was followed by a migraine. Sounds like you made up for not closing your rings today beating your time! I hope that migraine is completely gone.
Into another week, here we go! I woke up and worked out then colored my roots (my vitamin drink seems to make my hair grow like a weed so my hairdresser gives me some dye to use halfway through appointments) then did the meeting minutes for the charity. A couple friends on mine from here and I had been talking of trying a recipe then Zooming and we made the recipe then just talked on the phone together for awhile which was fun. Ran to my brother's for a bit and here I am! A friend stopped by earlier too but that was a quick stop. My brother's cat is going to be staying here when they go out of town in a couple weeks, my cats won't be happy as she's pretty domineering with them. Have a great Monday team!

Womp womp womp I GAINED. But honestly I am not to upset. This week was a really good week for me. for 1, my food intake was at 80% I worked out 4 of the 7 days. I feel like this weight may have been just based on the last 2 days of this weekend. We had my cousin in law visit who has been out of the country for the past 2 months so we had a night of catching up and drinking wine. That was Friday night. Saturday was my nieces birthday and for the most part i was good. 1 slice of pizza and a slice of cake and a sprite. So I don’t know, maybe im retaining from the past 2 days. Definitely not repeating that. I started a new Beachbody program- 80 day obsession. I am LOVING it! It’s been a good 10-12 months since i have worked out, so last weeks workouts were only done with body weight. This upcoming week my goal is to get my steps up to 10k. Work out the full 6 days following the program. Drink my required water and make sure I meal prep all week. Feeling super good about this upcoming week!3 -

Congrats to the whole team for getting 3rd place by percentage AND pounds! And special thanks to @gemwolf110 @davors19 @Vegan4lyfe2012 for leading the way! WOOT WOOT!
@Cornanda Yes!!! I haven't taken my pics yet, we've been too busy. It will now have to wait until I come back from a work trip. How are you? How are you doing? I agree, @vegan4lyfe2012 makes the most awesome cards and everyone should PM her!!!
@askewcr Happy (now) Monday! That's a great goal. GREAT no zero wins!!!
@AmbersWay Congrats on the loss! Every bit helps and you are going down, that's what counts.
@laurelfit57 @megnolia82 @JenAWhite Congrats on the losses!
@txcritter69 Congrats on the loss! Oh I don't know why I thought you were in the eastern part of the US! I hope you don't get much more rain and get some sunshine. That's a great idea to get rid of what doesn't fit and reward yourself with new clothes when you lose. I have done the same thing. It sounds like you had a busy day indeed! Great no zeros.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss, well done! Pasta salad...it's so good but hard to stop eating. I LOVE asparagus! Good idea to prep the salad toppings, that way you can grab and go! That's a great insight about the macaroni situation...I hope it helps! I wish I would have read your message before I went to bed, a cup of tea would have helped! Good job with your no zeros!
@shaunarlr83 Yes, I am sure trying and doing much better than a couple of months ago! No, I actually hound them to drink more water lol. Good for you for quitting all the sodas and sweet tea (or cutting down?)! I'm sorry about the migraine, I get those and they stink so bad. How's your head today? Congrats on beating your own time!!! Good job with the no zeros!
@megnolia82 That sounds like a fun challenge. I do meditate on occasion, not as often as I want to, or should, but I do. I really enjoy it as well. I take my meditation cushion out on my walkway in front of my condo and sit in the sun. I like the body awareness type, too. It's relaxing. I used to use Headspace but my membership ran out. I just find stuff on Spotify or YouTube now, not really any favorites.
@Katmary71 That's good your hairdresser gives you dye to use. I have to use this spray paint for hair to cover my roots lol. It works ok. Oh gosh about your brother's cat staying with you. I hope it goes okay! Great job with your no zeros, I'm glad you stopped when your legs got worse.
@Sleon225 I think you did great this week! And you could probably go to the bathroom and have that gain off, so no worries, you've got this!
@Brigit42 Ooh JoAnns going out of business sale, nice! Have a great day!
Hi all. I didn't eat breakfast in anticipation of having a heavy lunch (leftover sliders from the night before) but the sliders for lunch made my stomach really upset so I didn't end up eating anything the rest of the day. I woke up in the middle of the night with tummy troubles, too, so it hasn't been fun the past 24 hours. Because I wasn't feeling well, I didn't concentrate on water so I didn't do too well with that. Hopefully I feel better today as I have a lot to do.
MY NO-ZERO DAY WIN FROM YESTERDAY: After a heavy lunch that made me sick to my stomach, I didn't eat dinner; I tracked everything.
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."3 -
@19shmoo69 - I’m a stress eater too. My comfort foods pizza and chocolate.
@trooworld- Sorry you’re not feeling well. Take is easy for the next couple of days.
@shaunarlr83 - Funerals are sad. I’m glad to see you can still focus on healthy activities. That isn’t easy in times of stress.
@megnolia82 - Best of luck with the new medication! I like to meditate too but TBH I don’t do it regularly.
@Katmary71 - Please share magic hair recipe! Want to grow hair to my waist this year for fun.
@txcritterd69 - I love organizing stuff. It’s like a game.My dog sheds everywhere. I vacuum several times a week.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - You’re very organized in the kitchen. I need to improve on that skill.
@AmbersWay - Congrats on the loss. Every loss counts!
@sleon225 No worries about weight gain. I gained too this week. Keep us posted about the new workout program. I’m trying to become more disciplined myself.
