Nothing really new or great to report. Was hoping to be lower this week but I didn’t make any sort of effort to eat well at all. I ate a package of ramen every day for lunch. A bowl or rice for dinner. Cups and cups of rice milk. A banana or two when I felt like it.
Regardless of what happens otherwise, goal is 214.0 next Sunday.

I had a fantastic day yesterday! Our anniversary was spent shopping, taking a nice drive and going out for dinner. Then watched Wakanda Forever. I didn’t even stress over the added calories. I didn’t worry about what I ate at all and I’m back on track today with no problem.
Great job to all that had losses!4 -
haven’t been on in so long and have been very random in checking in on peoples posts. Sleep definitely remains an issue. Just picking a random page to start to catch up on everyone :-). I definitely know I will be missing a lot.
@Cornanda first you,! I read somewhere way back that you got a new family member, but I couldn’t figure out what exactly you got, I believe a young pup of some sort, any pictures? My cousin asked me over to watch the superbowl, I ’m not much of a football person, I declined as all of those yummy treats would just be too much for me!
@katmary71 it sounds like you are doing great with keeping up with your deep breathing and exercises! You certainly keep busy with the greenhouse and I’m sure once the farm opens up that as well! I hope you enjoyed your supper at your neighbours place
@trooworld it sounds like your migraines are back, I am so sorry! I love your new phrase for 2023! I hope you get to have some fun on your work trip!
@vegan4lyfe2012 that tuna salad and meatloaf that you posted looks delicious!! it is just about lunchtime and you made me starving. 🤣. I remember you asking a while ago about me going off my hormones and if there wasn’t something else I could go onto. Unfortunately a while back they found some plaque in my carotid artery so they said 10 years was the max I could be on hormones without going into high risk of stroke. I have tried some more natural remedies to no avail. I am really hoping that my body can figure this out on its own.
@Katmary71 the trip to the blood pressure clinic sounds like a nightmare! It seems very unfair., I am so sorry you had to go through that. Sounds like your workouts are going great, congratulations.
@Megnolia82 sending many healing thoughts your way♥️
@DrewsAnna LOVE your picture of Chipper and your grand beauty♥️. I sort of meal prep. When I make a meal, I make enough for between 4 to 6 servings, then I will eat one and freeze the rest in individual portions. I cook for myself and that’s it, so if I had to do that three times a day, I would not be successful. Right now in my freezer, I think I have four or five Tex-Mex bowls, chili, stuffed potatoes (my stuffed potatoes have Greek yogurt, light cream cheese, broccoli sometimes bacon bits, then Tex Mex cheese sprinkled on top do they are like a meal), and stirfry. I’m pretty boring with breakfast, I always have my overnight oats so I make three of those at a time. I also have frozen chopped up chicken breasts And Mexican style extra, lean ground turkey. With those things in my freezer, even if I make myself one meal a day, I can stay on track. For example, for breakfast, my overnight oats, lunch is a bag salad with 3 ounces of chicken breast thrown in then I will have a Mexican bowl for supper out of the freezer.
Sorry you are feeling blue, hopefully it will turn around soon for you!
@micaroo I feel your pain, I have been plagued with insomnia not as well.. I am sure that the lack of caffeine from your diet Coke is doing a number on you! I quit drinking pop, probably 30 years ago. Every once in a blue moon, if I am on vacation and it is very hot outside, I will have a Diet Coke, the glass has to be filled with ice and then pour the Diet Coke on top, otherwise, I find it too strong and sweet for me now, I hope you get to that place soon🥰
@tammymccrady6278 yay! Huge congrats on your loss!
@19shmoo69 yay you, congrats on the loss!
I am as caught up as I can be, I know I missed a lot, but here we go to the start of a new week. Sleep and hormones are definitely the bane of my existence this last while, but I am trying to make the best of it. Trying to get in my exercises and tracking. I have decided that if I have less than five hours of sleep, I am not going to get up to go to gym class, it just isn’t worth it. I have started to take Tylenol p.m. from time to time, just if I have something going on that I need to be on the ball for, I know it’s definitely not a long-term solution. Really hoping that my body will sort itself out, I have tried a naturopath and gone to an herbal store but they don’t really have any solutions that work for me. Weight loss is definitely more of a struggle this year than last year. I am doing exactly what I was doing last year and things are definitely not moving as quickly. I can tell you one thing for sure, it is going to make me much more wary now that I know how much more difficult it is with these crazy hormones of mine. I think that’s it for me for now. After reading through all these posts and all of the delicious foods that everybody is making, I’m starving and getting very hangry, time to eat 🤣3 -

@Cornanda and everyone else curious. Here's a little known fact about me. I was born in Japan. Because of that I hold onto ideas that are Japanese. My wife and kids know this. Sometimes I tell people I'm japanese. Lol
When our first grandchild was born my wife instantly knew she wanted to be called Gramzie. I searched and found that Sofu is Japanese for grandpa and Mago is Japanese for grandson.
Maybe one of these days I can share his name and how he got it. Believe it or not it's a Korean story.4 -
@Micaroo4 I'm so sorry your sleep has been bad, it's real hard to function like that. It's great to see you, I'm glad you posted. Just do what you can, hopefully you'll start feeling better soon and will be able to get better rest.
@tammymccrady6278 You did have a great week, way to go on the loss!Sounds like a wonderful anniversary, so glad to hear you bounced back fast!
@trooworld Woohoo, glad to hear that about migraines being gone! Interestingly I was talking to a friend about micro current (I got that unit a couple years ago) and she was telling me they help migraines, I've had a couple in the last few years and didn't know that, it may be worth looking into finding a local practicioner or micro current and migraines. I'm not sure how it helps them though unfortunately! I'll let you know if I learn more but wanted to share that with you.
@19shmoo69 I'm so glad you got to see him! Sounds pretty opinionated about fajitas, think you can sway him to try them. Thank you for explaining the names, I wasn't sure where they'd come from but knew when your grandson was born so I figured out who you were referring to.
@sleepygirl79 It's hard having chocolates in the house, I'm the same way especially if they're open. I took a box of sea salt dark chocolate caramels to my brother's for the superbowl and they'd gotten me cookies from Trader Joe's I'm assuming for Valentine's so I actually came home with more than I'd try to leave. Hm that's a tough one as far as gifts, what about nuts or just a sweet card? I wanted to take Bill out to dinner but he changed jobs and can't visit right now so I sent him a sentimental candle and card. What about a mix tape (or playlist these days!) of songs that remind you of him?
@Cornanda Enjoy the game!
@askewcr Oh no, sounds like a sad day, I'm sorry to hear about your losses.
@txcritter69 Sounds good and you're doing great, hope your week goes well!
@megnolia82 Are you starting to feel better? I sure hope so, prayers and love sent to you, I bet you're ready to say bye to ramen, rice, and bananas!
@davidji82 @txcritter69 @JenAWhite Congratulations team winners!
@laurelfit57 So glad you posted, I was wondering how you were! I'm sorry to hear about sleep. A random page or just saying hi is always fine too, do what you can when you're up for it. Honestly I think research really needs to speed up on menopause and issues surrounding it and treatments, it seems like from perimenopause age and menopause sleep is a rarity especially if hormones aren't an option and there's a lot of us totally worn out!
Hi team, hope everyone had a great weekend! I went to the first volunteer farm day yesterday then to my neighbor's for dinner which was fun. She had tried to order “Colorado” Mexican food at the restaurant which the waitress had never heard of so she made it for us and it was really good. @19shmoo69 would've liked all the habanero and jalapenos in the sauce! I came home after we split some wine and wanted popcorn real bad then went to my brother's for the superbowl and ate way too much but tomorrow's back to it. Have a great Monday everyone!

🎉Congrats to all those who had a loss this week and those who have hung in there 🎉
@trooworld thank you for the links. They’re helpful. Have a safe trip home.
@Katmary71 I love the greenhouse updates! I’m hoping they’ll get me to motivate myself to get out in my yard. How sweet of the neighbor to make her Colorado dinner for you.
@micaroo4 I hope your feeling better and got some sleep.
@sleepygirl79 Gifts are hard. I struggle with my husband. I just ordered him a poncho he’s wanted for ages, he had one in university days and wanted a new one. I am not a fan so I talked him out of it forever just so I can surprise him with one. I’m desperate 😂 Cologne is my backapp. I literally buy them and hide them. I did buy some extras that he wouldn’t buy himself, like the matching deo/lotion. He liked the deodorant. Gift bag of special extras. Well done on this weeks loss!
@Cornanda thanks for the laptop info. I’ll look into a chromebook.
@19shmoo69 way to go on this weeks loss ⭐️ Nice story on your names. How cool to be born in Japan. I live abroad now and bounce around. I want to visit Japan and live on all the great food. Then run right back to MFP 😂

Well I have officially hit a plateau. I’m not complaining at all. I’m thrilled that I lost 13 lbs my first month back. Yesterday, I used my new mat and the apple fitness app. A beginner’s pilates workout and a cooldown that equaled 25 minutes of “Oh my ….. am I going to survive?” It’s been a bit over six years since I have been to the gym. I spent 2017-2020 up and down, surgeries, sepsis (almost died), bed ridden, wheelchair and a tube coming out of my back for months.
I was just starting to find myself again when the pandemic hit and we had extreme lockdowns. So 2 years in the house mostly. Fast forward, I’m blessed and thrilled to be motivated and physically able to get back to myself, the me I know. It may be full of twists and turns, but I am here for it.
No zeros
Started workouts
Getting my steps in
Pushing more liquids (bad at logging them)
Organizing (started the vanity and almost done)
My BIGGEST!!! Tossing all my surgical supplies that have been collected. They actually have an expiration date and needed to go. Who knew bandages expire.
Next…storing my cases of medical reports far far away!
Lesson: I have learned to appreciate my time and good days. Well even the not so good days too.

To complete the thought about Japan, I have no memory of it. I have evidence but zero recollection. I guess that's why I playfully claim it.3

I went to bed at 5:00pm last evening. Rich was shocked. But he gets up at 2:00am to start getting ready for work, and I always wake up when he gets up...and often I get up by 3:00am to spend some time with him before he heads to work. So my only chance of getting more sleep was to go to bed really early.
I finished the toy for Garrett's baby, due in May. This is my first attempt at a dog. I usually make cats or bears. Meet Boz Bluezdawg:
Sorry about the size. I have an iMac and I still haven't figured out how to reduce the size.

Quick pop in:
@19shmoo69 - that is VERY cool. Thank you for sharing that. I think you get a prize for best Grandpa name! Maybe you should ask Mago what he thinks about Asian food?
@laurelfit57 - I'm sorry you are feeling so crappy. Yes, we got a new beast in the house. He is 7 months old and a mix of yorkie/maltese/poodle. We named him Gus. I'm so happy about it! How is Vannie?
@micaroo4 - your crochet dog is super cute!
Have a great day!

I fell off the wagon; then it ran over me
My eating has been all over the place. I'm holding soo much water and having tummy troubles (the absolute nicest way I can put it). I gained 6 pounds in matter of days. I was 242.2 one day and 48 hours later was 247.8. Flabbergasted.
So I watched my food over the weekend but didn't drink enough water so that's what I'm working on today. I'm also making sure I'm moving at work bc I've been sitting way, way too much.
I planned my food out yesterday too.6 -
All caught up on yalls posts! I fell into a bit of a funk this week.
Monday after weigh in we had lots of errands to run and it was my older brothers birthday. I made him a cherry cheesecake and homemade banana pudding. My sweet cravings took over and that cheesecake was a shock to the system after having very little sugar last month, I haven’t been able to stop eating since but today I’m trying. My sister and nieces ended up having to come back and stay the rest of the week, hectic is putting it mildly. Couldn’t pay my gym fee on time so running away to there was out of the question and we had another unforcasted bout of snow and cold.
Tuesday…before all of this madness….was my best day. My hiking friend and I had made plans for a rainy day hike knowing we might see some waterfalls that are only visible after heavy rains!!! It was a definite win!!!
Wednesday I had to do all of my lab and paperwork for pre employment. Everything is all good and I’m just waiting on a call from my supervisor to let me know my start date.
I was losing my mind from the madness at home and getting a bit depressed from the gain on Monday, overeating, and not having or making any money this week so I just went back home and slept for most of the next two days. Mom pulled through and helped me out with our bills. She’s a saint!
Saturday my daughter and brother got me out of the house to hike some more and yesterday we went down behind my moms house to get in a few more miles. 12.89 total hiking miles this week. It was the only thing helping me cling to my sanity 😂 even with sloughing off with every thing else I still maintained no zero days. Couple of days all I did was get up long enough to get in my daily fb challenge workouts but at least it was something! I have a much better outlook this week, back on track cooking, eating, exercising and hopefully work soon!!! My schedule will be insane until I adjust and find a new routine but I’d rather be busy than not!
Sorry for the troublesome days some had also and yay for all the great weigh ins! I missed y’all!

I so love the vibe on this team! I need accountability to do almost anything and this team seems to fit the bill! If anyone wants to be friends on MFP, I'd really appreciate the extra accountability. I make my diary public, so that during the day, I can make as many choices that may help someone. I don't think I have too many active friends anymore, so that trick isn't as effective as it once was. (Thanks @19shmoo69, as you are still on from my last stint on Slimpossibles.) I have even posted some out of control days, so I don't think that is so good. I'm pretty new to menu planning and prep because of a variety of sneaky ways I've avoided it for 57 years!
I decided to try a post with multiple people responses. I hoped to get through the whole week, but just got to Friday! So many people here. I love it!
@Brigit42 - Nice losss! You seem to be one of my Monday weigh-in buddies.
@Cornanda - Hey, I grew up near Milwaukee, WI also. Brookfield, you? And I just barely remembered how to "quote" on here, so I don't know about pictures yet. But, I'll try to post a picture of my Goldendoodle, as I think he would be a friend to Gus! (That isn't a Psych show reference is it? My family has seen every episode and our favorite charachter is Gus, so I thought I should ask!) ar
@micaroo4 -My husband wakes up at 4:30 and I struggle, I can only imagine what it would be like if he got me ups at 2:00 a.m. I have been trying to get up and move to another bedroom until my alarm goes off and that seems to be helping for now. You are super talented crafter. I love the name too! Boz Bluezdawg!!
@Katmary71 - Keep up the greenhouse updates! My sister owns a big, wholesale flower and veggie green house business about an hour from me. Everytime I visit, it is like a shot in the arm of warm feelings.
@AmbersWay - Your comeback story is amazing and inspiring! I'm imagining some powerful song in the background as you dramatically throw away those surgical supplies. I love the poncho gift idea, also. LOL
@19shmoo69 - I will be meeting my niece in-laws family this weekend. They are from South Korea and will be in the Milwaukee area for a week. I'll take any Korean stories you can spare! Nice loss this week, btw.
@sleepygirl79 - great loss posted yesterday! I have no ideas for my two sons or husband for Valentines.
@davidji82 and @txcritter69 - Wahoo, the three of us made the top three Slimpossible board. And then, you two made the honorable mentions of the whole challenge group!! Wahoo!!!
@megnolia82 - good luck with Sunday goal! I think I'll set a Monday goal! Good idea to do that.
@txcritter69 - I love your "start each day..." Today I'm trying MCT ooil and cinnamon frothed in my black coffee to see if it could be an option to get me to reduce coffee with creamer! (a weakness!)
@laurelfit57 and @askewcr and @tammymccrady6278 and @davors19 and @GabiV125 - nice loss this week! When this many lose for the week, do we have a better chance of making more spots in the update? I guess I need to check the awesome spreadsheet again.
@askewcr - sorry to hear of your sad weekend.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - I am so happy to meet another "JenA!" It seems like the Jennifers are quite plentiful in this group!
@DrewsAnna - Let's stick together. I'm 57 and meal planning/prep is such a sticking point for me, too. I try to be kind to myself and inject some joy into the process, but hard sometimes. Since I am not a cook, I seem to be on cloud nine if I actually create a dish with 4 ingredients! (My family laughs at me!) I'd love to be MFP friends with you and I could commit to menu planning lunches or something small and then if you looked great, but if you never looked that is o.k. The fact that someone might look is powerful for me! And I love your dog, Chipper also!!!!

So the small town store I work near saved my Cupid butt. I was able to find a sweatshirt for hubby and sugar free drinks he likes and plan to make some keto brownies for him.
@JenAWhite boys are easy. Happy with chocolate or even a gaming gift card.
I’m struggling to stay away from my chocolates but have them out of sight which is helpful. Zumba tonight so I can sweat any extra calories off!5 -

@AmbersWay When do you usually start planting outside? I started seeds indoors and am kind of cleaning up what didn't make it through winter right now but want to get some snap peas going. Wow hearing your list of what you went through during that period sounds just awful, I love that even if you struggled to get through the workout you were able to make it through, you've come a long way! I remember crying at the grocery store one time because I was so happy I could go which I know you'd get. Huge high five! Love the No Zeros too!
@micaroo4 Oh my gosh that toy is so cute! It definitely looks like a dog, love it and the baby will too!
@Cornanda That face would be so hard not to give a ton of treats, so cute! No clue on the photos.
@bethanie0825 I was just thinking of you earlier wondering about you, it's great to see you. It sounds like you're getting back on track, I hope your stomach starts feeling better.
@shaunarlr83 I'm so glad you're feeling better, sounds like a rollercoaster of a week. I'm sure all the hiking helped a lot and yay for Mom! I hope you get your schedule soon too, it's nerve-wracking right before starting something new.
@JenAWhite I sent you a FR! Your sister's business sounds amazing! Wow you REALLY responded to everyone, incredible! It's funny when I started eating healthier there were SO many things I was doing wrong and hadn't known, perfect examples are buying bagged salads and thinking I was eating healthy because I ate oatmeal every day but it was like 3 servings with brown sugar and dried cranberries (being diabetic that definitely was bad!). How do you tend to cook? In the beginning it was a lot of sheet pan meals since I was cutting carbs out quite a bit and focusing on protein and veggies.
@sleepygirl79 Oh perfect, I'm glad to hear you found gifts for the husband. Have fun doing Zumba, I love dance workouts!
Hi everyone, hope you all had a great day! I had fun with my workout (ab challenge is making me push a bit on upper/lower weights too) then went shopping, got my work done, started seeds, and read and here I am. Funny how cleaning the house has fallen through every day the last few weeks, I have to at least vacuum tomorrow because the cat hair is crazy around here! Bill and I are FaceTiming and making a meal together so that's my Valentine's Day this year, we're doing Sknnytaste's chicken parmesan air fryer recipe: https://www.skinnytaste.com/chicken-parmesan-in-the-air-fryer and I'll let you know how it goes. Have a great Tuesday! I have my eye appointment tomorrow, I just broke my sunglasses and am having a heck of a time seeing so I'm glad it's finally here.
No Zeros
Great workout (chair cardio, ab and leg strengthening, stretching)
great water
relaxing bath

@JenAWhite I don't have actual Korean stories. But I'll share what I have. My oldest son went to missions "school" in Texas. In his cycle there were several South Koreans. My son's name is Zakk. I guess they struggled with the Z sound so they called him Jack. The Kool thing is this influenced the name of my grandson, Jakk.1
