Weigh-in Day: Friday
PW: 144.2. lbs
CW: 143.2 lbs
Not sure how much lower I want to go, but I am going to try for an additional 3-5 lbs over the next few months. I don't have a target weight, I have a 'feel' I'm going after.

I am a 55 year old female from Ottawa Ontario who fell in love and moved to Florida. I am 5'8" and used to be 271 lbs. I dabbled with Weight Watchers and I am currently around 218. Trouble is the WW point system and app does not show nutritional data. I have crept up in cholesterol and sodium so I have returned here to stave off more medicines. I battle trying to reach my daily calories whilst eating proper foods. I am here to learn healthy eating and balance that with my exercise. Can't wait to learn as I become lean ❤️
Welcome to the team!

MyChoiceisaGoodLife wrote: »1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? What are some of your hobbies?
Retired, she/her/ from Colorado where it is way colder more often than we're used to this winter! Walking is my favorite outdoor activity and this season's weather has made it tough.
2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
Last year was a tough health year with all sorts of respiratory stuff. Losing the 10 I've gained over the Covid years (after previously losing 25) can only benefit a full return to health. Ready to feel some energy and not physically sloppy!
3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
See yummie snack foods and eat yummie snack foods. My motto is "if you don't buy it you won't eat it". (Now if I can work on my husband not buying.)
4. Do you have a favorite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
After years of trying them all Mediterranean works best for me.
5. What is your favorite way to work out?
Walking parks and paths that have lovely nature all around and Tai Chi. Just signed up for Pickleball 101 to see if I can add that to the list of enjoyable exercise.
6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
Get a start on losing 10 pounds, get to 150, and stay there!
7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
Camaraderie, support, and humor!
8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
Wisdom? In my head? 😂 Let me get back to you on that.
Welcome to the team! My dietitian has recommended the Mediterranean diet to me before. I really should look into it. Have you been following it for long?1 -

Not surprised by the gain. I knew once I started eating again there would be a gain. Next week hopefully it will be going down again at next weigh in.
I barely had any sleep last night. There was a fire in our building and we had to leave our apartment. Walking down 11 flights of stairs was brutal only to find out I am on the emergency list and would be evacuated by firefighters because of my back/leg issues. No one was injured but the lady who’s apartment the fire was in lost her rabbit.
Have a great Friday!6 -

To be honest, I'm just glad I didn't gain this week. I took a few more rest days than usual which isn't that bad, I'm still averaging 4-5 days of exercise. I also learned that I should sleep more (who knew? lol). So while I didn't make my pound-a-week goal, I had a good week overall.

I don't want to be submitted for the group since my weigh in last week was on my non home scale and is skewed. Can we use the PW for this week?
Thanks for all you do!1 -
@MyChoiceisaGoodLife
what are some of your favorite dishes? Where in Colorado do you live? I'm in Georgetown, about an hour sw of Denver.0 -

Way to be consistent with exercise! You lost 3.3, right? That sounds like you did really well.0 -

I am going to use your weight from 2 weeks ago as your past weight as this was the last weight on your home scale. This still gives you a 2 pound lost so congrats!1 -

Can you confirm your number for this week? You lost more than a pound so I am confused when you say you didn’t meet your goal. Congrats on the loss!0 -

Just realized I didn’t log yesterday. After Thursday, I realized I am in terrible shape. My calf muscles are so sore. I guess I don’t use them enough. I must start working those legs.2 -

Weigh In Day: Saturday
PW (Previous Weight): 153.2 pounds
CW (Current Weight): 154.3 pounds
Gained 1.1 pounds since last Saturday.
Down 15.8 pounds from my highest weigh in 2016.
I am surprisingly okay accepting a gain this week as I had a lot of tough things and bad news to face this week. Plus, I have lost 6 out of 8 weeks since joining this challenge so only gaining twice in 8 weeks I can handle.3 -
