    I'm O Positive!
Had Collin Duty this morning. I was thinking about walking but since I did 6.32 miles in 122 mins yesterday...I might have a case of the lazies!!

I am O negative Paula. They would like my blood also. Blood suckers. :D

    Shelley
That's an understatement! You're the universal donor, anybody can get your blood and not have a bad reaction, so it's safe in emergencies when they don't know somebody's type. They LOVE your blood, Shell!

Paula are you negative or positive? I think I mentioned before that they would not take mine since I lived in Europe, over 35 years ago, when they had an outbreak of mad cow disease. :# I doubt I could not have symptoms by now now. :drinker:

    Shell,

I'm O+, the most common blood type (@ 37% of popl). I'm also CMV neg, so my blood is safe for newborns. Both O+ & O- can donate to anyone with a positive blood type (O+ A+ B+ AB+ = 80% of popl) and thus very useful.

In comparison, Derek is AB+ and can only donate to other AB+ (@ 4% of popl, it's the least useful).

BTW, as testing improves, rules change. It looks like you may be able to donate now if you want. Here's an article: https://www.redcross.org/local/texas/north-texas/about-us/news-and-events/press-releases/mad-cow-eligibility-change.html <3

I'm a big proponent of donating blood also Paula. I just donated my 50th pint a few months ago. My dad was really big and tadonating blood and it reminds me of him.

I've been struggling a little bit with low iron and several times in the last year I couldn't give because my iron was too low. Taking iron supplements to help. In general I think it answers the question why I felt so sluggish :) I hope the pills work. I've heard that it's very hard to bring your iron levels up with over the counter pills but let's see.

We took the day off to add to our long weekend because we have Monday off too. Planning on going to the movies with Bella. They're meant to do homework and a few other things this morning which I hope they'll do. Still on a journey of them taking responsibility and engaging in school, but directionally correct :) I'm going to go to sunrise yoga :)

    Happy Friday!

Karen the second kit has such unusual markings.

Paula we were in Germany. Have to check if we are included. Rocky donated blood all the time before they stopped letting him when he was found to have been to Germany. And then he could again for a bit. But they insisted in swiping his arm with iodine, which he is allergic to! I read a really interesting article on blood typing.

Kathy do you donate? They could use your blood also. :flowerforyou:

Paula my type is less than 7 percent of the US population. And while we are both Universal donors, I can only receive O negative blood. Both my children were O positive. And they made me very sick when they were born. I might try to give blood again. Especially with the way the world is. Might be a greater need for it at any time.

Karen good luck with getting the needed iron. :drinker:

Well, today was different...made soup, Pat went and picked up Ronan and brought him home to play...I pulled out all our paperwork from last year and worked on our taxes. Our Tax Lady is terrific!! She sends us a work sheet with all of year before last's figures on it so we just need to fill in the blanks for last year. Getting it together and figuring out what's what is the headache part...will make copies of everything tomorrow and drop it by her office on Monday if they are working. Soooo tired!! Ugh!

Made copies this morning then walked 5.73 miles in 111 mins to the post office and back. It was beautiful out there today!!
I have Collin Duty in the morning then to my trainer for 60 mins.
Hope you all had a fun weekend.

I worked so hard in the challenge that my whole body aches, but I gained weight, sigh.

My core hurts when I sit or stand, probably because of the "15 minutes of gardening" task; for which I moved my pots of irises (including the ones Shelley sent me) to the back porch. They've been sitting in the front yard ever since they were saved from the house next door; and recently realized the back porch will have better light and it'll be so nice to see them out the window. <3

Paula - sounds like you rocked that challenge! That darned scale ;( Boo...

I really need to focus on logging food...I've really fallen out of the habit unfortunately...urgh.

    I met U
Up with a friend yesterday and did something called float therapy. I'd never heard of it until she mentioned it. Essentially you are in this private floating pool chamber with a ton of salt pumping into it that makes your body float up there. The lighting is really dim and the goal is to clear your mind rest your thoughts and relax. It was pretty cool. You're an hour in the chamber. I definitely felt relaxed afterwards and was able to Chill out a bunch. I guess sensory deprivation will do that to you :)

I have Collin Duty this morning then my trainer for 60 mins...she better go easy on me cuz I haven't seen her since last Monday. She went to see her dad to comfort him, and herself, after losing her mother. I hope she is feeling better.
Hoping to drop off our taxes to the Tax Lady this afternoon...is she in her office? It's a holiday...we'll just have to wait and see. :#

We had off yesterday. The morning was catch up homework time for Bella (she's making progress in this area). Gave me time to get my tax paperwork together too!

I exercised 3x yesterday....sunrise yoga, an arm and back peloton workout and walked a mile while Bella was getting dressed. I'm trying to up my game now that I am feeling better....

We did spent the afternoon in New Hope, PA which is a quaint little shopping town near the Delaware River. Had fun and a beautiful day. Sadly Bella had a reaction to the spirulina in her smoothie....she got quite ill ;(

Looking good ladies. You’re inspiring me to get in more than one workout a day. I have the time for sure. And you’re so right Karen. I started doing better when I started logging my food again.

Sounds like we are all cold. It was -23 this morning on the way to work. Wind was not really blowing.

Paula that is a good sign. Don't listen to the scale. They suck!

Here is a fun little workout I did for our other challenge. Hope you like it.

Compared to Shelley, it isn't cold really. But compared to our normal, this is so strange. Snow at the beach in Half Moon Bay. That's the Pacific Ocean out there.

Hope everybody is doing OK with this crazy weather! It's fine here in Pennsylvania. Although a little weird. Yesterday it was 70゚ today it's gonna be 40 and tomorrow it's going to be 30. Very hard to get our arms around :)

Feeling a bit overwhelmed. I leave tomorrow night for a flight to Brazil for work. It's a late flight....10:30 PM and then I get there on Sunday morning. 9 hour flight. I have a million things to do before then. Including an eye appointment this morning, a doctor appointment, and fellowship dinner tonight. And I work today! At the time it seemed like a really good idea to sign up for the dinner... of course that was before I knew I waa going to Brazil :) nonetheless I'm sure it will be fun. I'm attaching a link for the strawberry crunch salad that I am making. It looks so good! I'll let you know.

Paula and Chris I hope you gals are enjoying the snow. No really, such a rare thing for you. Bundle up and go enjoy it. B)

Karen I must admit to wondering how you keep sane with all the trips you make. It would get to anyone eventually. I bet your family misses you.

Going to the mall for some mall walking.

Problem around here with snow is I live on a mountain and it's enough to make the roads slick but not enough to grip. No snowplow equipment; they just close our roads. Hunkering down!

All the main roads over the southern Santa Cruz Mountains were closed yesterday; including Highway 9, Highway 84 (my route) and Highway 17, a huge thoroughfare.
