Thanks for getting things started, Nanc. I like your goals. Mine are the same other than the sunroom. I managed to get out of the office a bit earlier today than I have been lately so I am home at a reasonable time and I am going to relax. I am beat.

Love the poster, Marilyn!

Hope you got a good rest, Mihani!

I did not feel like making my lunch today. I was going to opt for a Walmart run before work…bread vegan cheese sandwich.

But I went into the kitchen and made my salad cut up my fruit got my juice ready and I brought everything with me today

I’m pretty proud of myself.

Make it delicious 😋!

Yay Nanc! Sometimes I notice if I just get started then I will do what I'm supposed to do rather than what seems easier (but really isn't in the long run).

I went to bed at something like 6:30 on Thursday and slept about 9 hours. Felt great yesterday. Went out with friends after work and stuck to one cocktail. Skipped appetizers and had a salad when I got home. I'm actually taking the entire day OFF today. I have several loads of laundry to do and my house is a wreck so it's going to be a major clearing up clutter day on the main floor. I have some ideas for rearranging furniture in my family room that I think will make it much nicer so I'll work on that as well. I just have to keep at it, slow and steady. I tend to get bogged down in details or get overwhelmed but if I keep going eventually it all gets done.

Also need to do a little cooking and prepping for the week. Not a lot just chop up a few veggies, roast some broccoli.

I scheduled next Friday off and going to take a 3 day weekend. Seriously! I'll get the upstairs done next weekend and be ready to hire a cleaning company to come in and do a deep clean of the whole house. Also want to plant some flowers and have a guy coming to help me plan the planting and put in a few shrubs next weekend.

Plan for today...
B - oats with all the usual goodies
L - big ol' salad with beans added
D - soba noodles with peanut sauce and shredded raw veggies, roasted broccoli

Thanks, Mihani...I am doing great at work...but after work, I am struggling...so it's a wash when I get on the scale...I am going to try again today...all my food is ready.

Love that you are taking some time for yourself...I am right there with you on the house stuff ...that is my goal for my upcoming weekend.

today

coffee
shredded wheat with banana and soy milk
big salad for lunch another half for dinner
cantaloupe
for dessert when I get home...and stick to this ONLY...ninja creami. That is why I bought it...to avoid going crazy when I got home from work...NOW to put it in practice.

finishing up my second week back...struggling a bit to make it to the end of my shift...hoping for better results next week.

Have a great day everyone...and do make it delicious. <3

LOVE THIS: D - soba noodles with peanut sauce and shredded raw veggies, roasted broccoli
I am going to make it on my weekend. In fact, Dani from Clean and Delicious has a great recipe...just in case you need more inspiration: Just sub maple syrup for the honey and eliminate any oil...

That recipe looks good, Nanc, thanks. Great job making it through your day on track and spending snuggle time with Lulu.

I got my decluttering done yesterday. Everything off the counters and put away where it belongs, stuff piled on the dining room table thrown out or put away, laundry all caught up, rearranged the family room. Was done by 1:00 so I took a shower and did a jigsaw puzzle. I am going to run to the office just for a few hours today to sort through mail and catch up bookkeeping. Then grocery, home to do some cooking. A little sore today but not terrible. I made myself quit before I went too far so my back is okay.

Plan for today...
B - ezekiel muffin with a smidge of PB, berries with soy yogurt
L - big ol' salad
D - roasted broccoli, baked tofu, leftover soba noodle salad

Donna, hope all went well. Check in and let us know how you're doing when you can.

BTW…

All of a sudden, I had been missing scrambled eggs, real eggs and cottage cheese a lot. And of course I toyed with the idea of how bad could it be.

So I had subscribed to Veg news for a while for a couple years and let my subscription go so

I decided to re-apply when it showed up on my google feed to resubscribe. It is helping to strengthen my why of why I am vegan and I feel better now.

Nanc, cottage cheese is one thing I sometimes think about even after 12+ years vegan. Miyoko is supposed to be launching one but I haven't seen it yet. There are some recipes online but I don't know how closely they resemble good old fashioned cottage cheese.

Home from the office and going to work on my garage for a bit after I eat something. Making rice and stir-fry broccoli and peppers that will last a few days. Decided on corn on the cob and veg baked beans for dinner. Couldn't resist the corn on the cob in the produce section.

Today's plan...still sticking to my goals...zero Amazon spending. Actually, trying to play catch up after being without a paycheck for three months, it will be nice not to have an Amazon cc bill for a change.

today...

coffee
Post shredded wheat with fresh strawberries and banana
...I have one more serving. Trying to find Barbara's Organic shredded wheat. TJ's used to carry it. I love it...one ingredient, but I would prefer it organic since it is WHEAT. Have you all seen the docu about wheat? I haven't watched it in a while...think I will put it on as I clean. REALLY worth watching!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjNCvbehvBk&t=2201s

Finishing up my menu...
LUNCH: herb salad with carrots, bell peppers, mint, cilantro, purple cabbage, cukes... a side of rice, and beans. I think I will make up three salads, mason jar salads for today, Tuesday, and Wednesday since I will have everything out.
DINNER will have broccoli...tofu and broc ...I need to find a way to really enjoy broc...I think it is the magic ingredient for weight loss and good health.

Snacks: cantaloupe, cherries, grapes and DESSERT...two mini banana muffins with tea

Make it delicious! romansmile.gif

ETA: Ugh, for sure I need to make sure the wheat I consume is organic...started watching What's With Wheat again. EEEEEGADS!

Working in the kitchen...I think I will get it all completed today. My knees are not giving me problems...it's my back. It gets so tense. I have to stop and put moist heat on it (microwave thermalon)...anyway, I'll be happy that it is once again clean. Going to really work on meal prep for work days, so I do not make a mess...and keep it very simple during the summer months.

I want to get someone over here to check out my patio and give me ideas on how to proceed...but my house is too messy. Working on changing that.

Nanc, still not seeing the smileys. :(

I love broccoli! Sometimes have it stir-fry with a little soy sauce, ginger, garlic, plus whatever other veggies are on hand. My favorite is roasted with a sprinkle of coconut aminos and no-salt seasoning. I make that at least every other week. Whole sheet pan full and it lasts me several days. I just eat it cold as a snack leftover.

Have this Friday scheduled off and taking all day Saturday as well. Going to finish the house projects. My brother and a friend of mine will be here Saturday to help with some little repairs and heavy lifting so that gives me a lot of motivation to do the cleaning on Friday so the house will look nice when they come over. I'm sure I'll run into the office on Sunday just so I don't have to sift through all the stuff that will pile up first thing Monday morning. Going to a play on Sunday with a friend. So nice of her to invite me!

Other than just keeping after the healthy habits.

B - ezekiel muffin with a smidge of peanut butter
L - leafside and 2 wasa crackers
D - leftover stir-fry and rice, watermelon (got a good one, yay!)

Well that was a big ole ouch. Surgery went fine, stomach was still in my chest but came down easily. She sutured up my diaphragm muscle to close the area the hernia slides up and that is what hurts. My stomach was tacked down but no problems like nausea or vomiting. Just feel like I got a dagger into my diaphragm. Working hard on the incentive spriometer and baby steps. Took a complete shower today and that helped me to feel better. One week of clear liquids (broth, jello, water) then another week of full liquids and then a week of soft diet and after that I should be good to go. Dogs are smart and staying away from me. I think if they pounced onto my stomach I would pass out. Sorry to be so whiney but I am. Brooks has been taking good care of me.

Today's plan...

coffee
cantaloupe, organic cold cereal with banana and strawberries, soy milk
broccoli, rice and air fried tofu (stir fried the broc and used a touch of sesame oil and low sod tamari...very tasty)
refried bean tostada

cherries

Ninja cream: strawberry, banana, peanut butter...get to share this one with Lulu

Make it delicious.

It's great to hear that surgery was successful Donna, and that Brooks is taking good care of you! I hope the pain subsides quickly. and yikes to the dogs pouncing! I hope not!!

Crazy walk after dinner yesterday...all of a sudden the dogs are on top of something in the field. And that something starts screaming. Oh the chaos. We thought it was a rabbit at first but it turned out to be a fawn.

Ruby didn't have her collar on (hot spot in collar area is healing) and the dogs were snapping at each other trying to win the prize. I was so scared for that fawn and I lost my mind. The fawn wasn't the only one screaming. We finally got the dogs together and Joe held onto them in place while I followed the fawn. After it failed to escape through the fence and had already been running around trying to get away it just sort of collapsed in a corner of our fence area. Luckily it happened to be close to a gate so I went the long way around and opened the gate, hoping that it would see its way out.

Sorry guys, long story, almost done. The fawn was not leaving the spot and as I tried to kind of herd it on its way it wasn't moving. I was worried about injuries but it just looked liked she'd been licked a bunch by Ruby and scared. At this point I touched her softly and she didn't react, so I picked her up and put her on the other side of the fence where the dogs couldn't get at her. After 30 seconds or so it got up and went toddling away bleating for its momma.

Joe heard what we assume was the momma in the woods looking for the fawn and the fawn was headed that way. We think they found each other. We went looking after the dogs were in the house, but didn't see the fawn again.

That's not even the only story about that fawn because Joe came home Saturday and said "I think I just saw a deer give birth to a fawn on our driveway and then go leaping off in the the woods!" The fawn didn't move as he drove around it, but he was going slow and could see that it was breathing.

It's super small gals. Covered in white spots. I was so upset about the whole thing, but I think it turned out okay for momma and baby. And we aren't walking the dogs in the field without a leash for a while.
And I got to not only touch but pick up a baby fawn.

Thank you for the well wishes. I was whiney yesterday but turned the corner yesterday evening. Had a nice walk and this morning I feel much stronger. Watch me....I will do to much and then be whiney again.

Oh Carla, how scary and exciting! I am glad the dogs didn't really go after the fawn....Ruby's herding and protective instincts might have kicked in. Maybe same with Radar as he is bred to protect and herd also. I had an Aussie years ago when I lived on a farm. She loved baby kittens, puppies and the foals. Always trying to guard them.

Yes, the surgery was a success and I think I don't need the narcotics for pain anymore. Tylenol is doing the job.
I can't believe it was 7 days ago....it was quite a blur....I didn't wake up until the next morning from anesthesia. I am a lightweight when it comes to drugs.

Brooks has been adding PB2 to my vanilla protein shakes to try to get more protein in. I personally can't wait until I can have my vegetable soups. Drinking broth, jello (I hate jello) and herbal tea.

Glad that you are starting to feel stronger, Donna! And great to be off of the narcotics if possible. When my dental pain got unbearable, I had to take ibuprofen and tylenol together so I have a small inkling of how the pain builds between doses. I hate jello too! When do you get to start having soup?

Thanks for the reminder, Nanc. I am picking up a cantaloup today.

Oh! I know, another post on the same day but I forgot to mention that I may have found a pet sitter! My cousin loves dogs and would like to run around the field with them. I really hope we can work it out. It is the ideal solution.

Long day at the office didn't get out of there until 6:30 then had to stop and get gas because the light came on. I am so bad about waiting until the last minute to fill up the tank.

Carla, that is so scary and I'm happy that you were able to get the fawn to safety. And another one born in the driveway? You need to put up a sign like Deer Maternity Ward or something.

Donna, glad to hear recovery is still going well. And I don't think you were whining. Glad the pain is subsiding.

Nanc, you reminded me I bought some cherries and meant to take them to the office to share. I just put a note on the garage door so I don't forget tomorrow.

I realized today it has been several weeks since I signed onto facebook. I changed my password and promptly forgot it, and the facebook account is linked to my old email which I hate trying to get logged into, so I just keep putting it off. I never post much of anything anyway. I do all my internet socializing here.

B - half a leafside
L - other half plus an orange
D - last of the leftover stir-fry and rice, watermelon
