One example of dealing with this person. Sorry I am venting so much but I lost my hearing aid last week. At dinner it was very noisy and I could not hear 90% of the conversation except Brooks who was sitting on my left side that I have partial hearing. 0% in my right hear ! After dinner someone asked me if I heard a story and I said no, I was not able to hear most of the conversations. This woman immediately piped up saying I don’t feel that is really true. So she was basically calling me a liar and true example of gas lighting.

She goes home tomorrow. Brooks is out running and my friend is at her Vet conf. This person is reading a book basically ignoring me so I am hiding out in craft room.

Hope your foot is better, Nanc. I don't cook oats either. I don't think I'd eat grapenuts in them all the time but it was a nice little dessert type treat. I don't really care that much about using plant milks either and usually just use water to slightly moisten oats before eating. Whenever I open a carton it ends up going bad before I use it up.

I did buy some soy milk because I'm going to try making cottage cheese! There's really nothing else I miss since going vegan. Meat not at all, but sometimes I get a hankering for cottage cheese. Apparently all you need is soy milk and some lemon juice, let it curdle then strain. https://vegnfit.com/vegan-cottage-cheese/ I saw other recipes that use tofu which might be fine but I liked that this is made in a traditional way just using plant milk.

Donna, sorry about your company. That sounds truly awful. Inviting herself to your house is bad enough, but then treating you poorly on top of it? If I had a similar situation as her I would have got a hotel room and either spent time with your mutual friend somewhere else or if invited spend some time at your house but not stay there. That's just mind-boggling to me. I guess you didn't feel like you could have refused to let her stay there. When is she leaving?

Big congrats on 61 pounds gone! Woohoo!!!

Accidentally bought whole beans instead of ground coffee, but the nutribullet did a fine job of grinding it.

I need to get to work! I have been doing laundry and puttering around all morning and have so much work to get done. I don't know if I will get to cooking and prepping later today or just wait until after work tomorrow. Wait and see if I get on a roll working and don't want to stop. It usually only takes me 60 to 90 minutes to prep the roasted veggies for salads and a pot of greens with beans, onions and shrooms for the week, but if I stop working it's hard to get back at it sometimes, and I'm getting a late start. The split pea soup is getting postponed yet again.

I survived the visit. It is over and I took them to airport 3 hours earlier. Told them security was long to go through. It was painful and sad. Therapist appt. On Wednesday to help me process this. Lots of towels and sheets to wash.

Now back to healthy eating and exercising.

Magic - Lab work is so important. I hope your results are all good. Love stir fry veggies. What spice do you use?

Mihani - can’t wait to hear about the cottage cheese recipe. TY. It was like being caught in a drama show and I don’t do drama. Let’s all be kind and nice to each other. Life is short.

I did do chips and cheesecake yesterday and was up one lb. Really let the situation affect my eating goals.

I’m glad the drama is over and the people are on the plane and they’re gone and you get back to your life, Donna!

I had my doctors appointment but I didn’t take the blood draws today because they don’t do a good job at the doctors office. I’m gonna go to a lab that specializes in hard to draw arms that have been ruined by chemotherapy!

I might go tomorrow morning or am I go next Monday? I’m going to see how my schedule is.

Spices I use a Japanese sauce out of a bottle and that spices everything up and I’m happy with it

My doctor did say that he was really surprised that I’m working 40 hours a week and then I’m going to be 75 next month and that I’m not taking any medication all those three things combined. I got a gold star today.

But of course, the blood work is going to be key …the lab results will be really really important

Good to hear the ice is helping your foot, Nanc. Looking forward to the report from your doc. I have to go to a lab to get my blood drawn too. Most places can't do it without sticking me multiple times which starts to freak me out and I get faint. The people at the labs are always good at it and don't keep jabbing me.

Donna, yay for getting your house back! Hope you can take it a little easy for a day or two.

I got home and swore I'd get the cooking done that I didn't do yesterday and very glad I did because the kale was pretty wilty already. Roasted broccoli and mini peppers are done and soup is simmering for about 10 more minutes then I'll add the greens. This week's soup is onions, mushrooms, a bag of frozen mixed veggies, black eyed peas, chickpeas, diced tomatoes, kale and baby spinach. It's probably more like a stew. Very thick.

I'm about out of canned beans and hopefully I can get motivated to soak and cook all the dried beans that I got and freeze them in 1.5 cup portions. I do like having some canned beans on hand too though. I will make a trip to the grocery to load up my whole cart with beans, veggie broth and canned tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.

Great job coming home from a long day at work and getting into cooking, @Mihani !

My Monday...just having coffee...bout to hit the shower and then off to take LML for a walk. Foot is all better.

Think I will go for blood test on Monday...easier to fit in on day off.

    Nothing exciting for meals today...

    fruit for breakfast
dr what's his name soup for lunch with Ezekiel sand
rice veggie and tofu stir fry for dinner...pretty much the whole week. I found a market that does great stir fry prep...only five bucks...two meals out of it...no waste and a time saver. Happy me.

Oh, good idea Nanc on the stir-fry. I will have to look for something like that. Sometimes I don't mind doing all the cleaning and chopping but other times it is such a chore when you just want to get to eating!

Not feeling too great today so I'm going to eat a bite and go to bed for a while. Hopefully not coming down with something.

Mihani - your soup sounds so good. You could be a vegan chef in your next career.

Magic - Glad your foot is better and I am sure Lulu is too.

Met a friend for a long walk in a park early this am. It was not too hot but CB has been ill since. Poor little guy. He looks so sad. Calling vet tomorrow if he is not feeling better. My friend is 75 and she just got back from hiking the Grand Canyon. Next year she plans to do parts of the Appalachian Trail. We are going to try to walk 3 miles once a week together. Bean breakfast taco after at my favorite place. Getting use to having them on corn tortilla rather than flour.

Busy day tomorrow. Meet with eating disorder therapist in am and then an organizer is coming over in the afternoon to start with kitchen and pantry. From there we will meet once every two weeks with specific rooms& closets in mind. I think our renters will be moving next year and I want to be ready for an easy move. Taking all my clothes that are too big to a consignment store next week. They all have to be freshly laundered and ironed. I gave away a lot of casual stuff to the immigrant resource center.

Mmmmm... breakfast tacos! Nice walking action, Donna. Hope CB is feeling better. Poor little guy.

Nanc, smileys have been showing up lately. So glad!

I had a long day. Since I wasn't feeling well, didn't sleep well, then I overslept of course, and was late to the office. Feeling better now and stayed a little late, then stopped to visit a friend for a few.

Now, off to bed early again! Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow.

Ugh, having a hard time letting go. Did not swim this am but can swim later in the day. CB is much better. Going to go walk dogs in a bit. I was eating healthy raw nuts that I toasted in the air fryer. Yesterday I bought honey roasted pecans and way too much and it ignited my sugar craving. I am going to reboot myself today with fresh fruit. The cravings are strong and tied into my feelings about last weekend. According to therapist when something like that happens we try to comfort ourselves with food….and that is okay as long as we use healthy foods and recognize it and not fall back on bad self destructive habits. So in the past it would have been chocolate, cookies or bowls of ice cream. Now it is honey roasted pecans. 😂😂😂.

Magic I can see your cute emojis and love them. The organizer was extremely motivating and positive. I had s o many empty boxes in my small craft room that she encouraged me to get rid of even though I might be moving back into our house next year. We are starting with the pantry and kitchen. Plan is I go through everything and get rid of what I don’t need or want and then she will help me organize the space. She is a military wife and also helps with packing and unpacking. So we are not going to buy anything that fits this house but rather things I can use in next house.

Mihani - I hope you got a goodnights sleep and feeling better. Weekend is almost here!

Still feeling pretty blah... sinus/allergy crud as usual. I hate that my head is a barometer! I am going to bed early again tonight. Mostly ate miso soup and saltines today because my stomach isn't feeling too happy.

Donna, that sounds like a very productive meeting with the organizer. I actually love doing things like that and should quit my job and do that for a living! Have you talked to your friend since she left and did she notice the dynamics going on?

    I'm off to bed.

I've been dealing with the blues, but this week I am at least doing something about it! I have walked 13 miles on the treadmill so far this week. I am making sure I don't go too fast and I'm icing my heels afterwards which really seems to be helping.

Food hasn't been 100% but it has been decent, and tasty to boot! We're doing another round of homemade Greek food tonight.

I'm jealous, it looks like everyone can see your emojis except for me, Nanc!

Nuts and fruit sound like good options, Donna! I know what you mean about having trouble getting past something like that. In those situations I either don't say anything and am annoyed long after it is over, or have an over-the-top sort of reaction at the time and then feel bad about it long after the fact! I'm sure there's a happy middle ground in there somewhere but I haven't achieved it.

I have to post fast...need to get to work early...delivery back at home at 8:30 ... meet the guy and then back to work...but I have to go in to do all my early morning duties.

So, wishing all of you who are either dealing with "stuff" or are "stuffed-up" better days ahead (me included-details another time).

Menu is not very exciting...I have the end of my "fried" rice and stir fry veggies and some other stuff.
Hopefridaysmiley.gif is good for all of you!

Nanc, is this a delivery for beginning the patio project? Hope so... that's exciting!

My clogged up head finally broke up this morning and it was a sneezy sniffly mess for a bit but feeling better now.

Ahhh... the elusive middle ground, Carla. If you get there send me directions because I can never find it! LOL

I had a long day and going to eat a bit and go to bed early. Lots of work to do this weekend as usual. But I'll make time for some prepping for the week.

Nope, @Mihani not the patio enclosure. The Patio Project turned into one colossal fiasco...causing me to lose sleep and what is worse, have horrible anxiety/panic attacks.

Thankfully, it has been cancelled, as of yesterday...and I finally got some sleep last night.

The delivery was a 75th birthday present to me from me... I will post the video of it here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFTyzzt9GwI&t=11s

Off to take LML (Little Miss Lulu) for a walk...back later to post meals.

    Making today a good day!

Nice, Nanc! And Happy Birthday! :)

I slept in until almost 8:00 this morning. I'm going to go to the grocery shortly and spend the day cooking, doing laundry, etc. I need a day off from thinking about work.

Going to make my usual big ol' pot of beans and greens, salads, roasted veggies. I need to stick to it this week I've been a bit off the rails.

Managed to pop my knee last night so that hurts. Have to be careful the next few days until it loosens up again.

Ugh, went to the big grocery instead of my usual small market and the produce was less than well stocked. No decent kale so I got chard and a HUGE bunch of mustard greens. I'll cook those up with onions, shrooms, and probably add pigeon peas, That will get me through a few days and I'll stop at the small market on Wednesday or Thursday. Also got broccoli and mini peppers to roast (of course I did) and a few bags 'o salad.

I think I'll put off cooking until tomorrow though and spend the afternoon doing a jigsaw puzzle. I need to do something relaxing and take my mind off worries.
