Welcome @lacatgirl ! We're glad that you found us! Take a few minutes and introduce yourself to the team. I'm Jessica, one of two captains... @Pupowl is the other Captain. On behalf of the team and the leadership, we hope you find this team to be as supportive and helpful as we've found it to be!
I recommend you go back to pg one of this chat thread and read our FAQ file and that should answer many of your questions. Anything not listed there, please post and I'm sure several people will chime in to help. Tell us a little bit about your goals for September and beyond and definitely let us know how we can better support your journey.
Again, welcome and good luck this month!

Good morning Shape Shifters. I didn't go for my nature walk because I knew I would be busy enough with other stuff. I walked to the grocery store instead of biking to get some zone minutes. Tinus had an appointment with the groomer at 13:00 which wasn't a great time since it was very hot. Sometimes he gets done by the vet assistant instead of the actual groomer, and I am not sure why. This time she told me she shaved a little because he had small knots under his arms. I still brush and comb Tinus at home, so I know for a fact he wasn't bad enough to need to be shaved. You can easily just pluck out those small tangles with your fingers, so I thought that was very lazy. I feel like shaving a cat should be a last resport only. Also their skin is extremely delicate and you can cut them open so I really hope she knew what she was doing. I think in the future I will just ask that all the appointments are with the actual 'official' groomer though it feels a little rude to do that.
Later in the afternoon I mowed the grass. I don't have the words to express how much I hate mowing. I think I would actually enjoy being tortured more. It was already a bit overdue though, and with the temperatures only going up, I either had to do it now or wait at least another week. It was horrible and every inch of my skin was sweating it felt like. I didn't move much after that and went to bed very early. Happy Tuesday everyone

I would like to sign up for September step challenge again. My goal is 10,000 steps per day. When the weather is nice I like to take evening walks with my daughter, to catch up with each other and wind down the day. When weather is not so nice, I do have a treadmill

Hi friends! Pups had a sore paw over the weekend so we didn't get nearly as many steps in as usual. Rest helped it and she was much better yesterday. I did, however, go for a couple long bike rides and did an indoor rowing workout. I also added a weight lifting session in...a 30min youtube video, which was brutally hard compared to my biking and rowing workouts. I hadn't lifted in a couple weeks and it really kicked my butt!
Count me in again, please, for the September step challenge. I'll stick with 13K steps. My favourite place to walk is through a nearby forest.

I'd like to continue with the step challenge.
I don't have a favorite place to walk. There's four places I alternate between, depending on what's going on. I do have a favorite time to walk, and that is early in the morning. I used to walk at 7am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, right after my yoga class, then go home for breakfast. But now I do tai chi at 9am, so I have breakfast between yoga and tai chi.

Weigh In Day: Saturday
PW (Previous Weight): 207.6
CW (Current Weight): 205.8
I am very late posting my weigh-in! I am in Florida, so we were cleaning up after the hurricane, and since we got our power back on on Thursday, three of my stepkids plus their significant others came to stay at our house until yesterday. My husband and I have done nothing but cook, clean, and wash sheets and towels and clothes for four days I am hoping to get into a normal routine now!6 -
@Becoming_A_Butterfly
You are actually early. In this group, the week starts on Sunday which means for this month it was the 3rd. So your first weigh in day for the group is on the 9th! I understand the confusion though, the gap is pretty long when you pick Saturday as your weigh in day. We also have your starting weight as 208, not 207.6. I can adjust that if you would like. Either way, nice loss so far and good to hear you have power back!1 -

Today I went on my longest local bicycle ride. I woke up with a lot of depression and that usually means I've had a bit of a small seizure, which for me are typical focal or in that arena, not the more serious grand mal etc. But usually for 72 hours afterwards I have a range of symptoms including occasionally debilitating depression. I knew I needed to go out and get in some exercise but I had to kinda push myself out of the house today. I guess it's genetic because some people in my family inherit a novel blood sugar issue and they're the ones with the seizure issues also, so maybe it dropped too low over night, idk.
Anyway, I'll be fine, I just feel incredibly sad for no reason at all. Ugh. Anyway...gosh I kept hating that because the ride was just so beautiful. Had some big fluffy clouds today.
I'll put in a few photos, just taken with my phone so not too good of quality. This is in North Oregon along the Pacific Coast in a state park, South Jetty, Iredale, Coffenbury lake. It's a good place to ride a bike or come and visit.
My bike was a little sandy / salty so I did give her a good wash and oiled the chain afterwards.
And uh' someone kept posting about paddle boarding and I put it on my calendar for next year because wouldn't that lake be perfect for that? I kinda think so! :-P. I've been so inspired by everyone here. I just shamelessly copy off all ya'

Is it too late to join the step challenge for September? If not, I’d like to set my September goal at 7,000.2
