@vegan4lyfe2012 I just finished a viral Tik Tok trend: take a thrift store painting and make it spooky. Most people just add ghosts but I did extra because I'm extra. I'll share a few pics. Yeah my husband hates his picture taken lol. He'd probably kill me if he knew I put that online. Yes! I bought Daisy a leash with daisies on them but I don't like that leash as much as the one she has. I wish you luck with WW Turnaround system. I hope it helps you. Oh what a pretty picture!

@Neon_Ninja Thanks! I do love the weather except right now, we've been having HOT weather for weeks. September is actually our hottest month, it can get up to 100F during September. Thank you! I love those little stinkers! Wow, great pictures! A bear in the neighborhood??? WHOA! That would be scary!

Hi all. I woke up with a migraine. I think it's from the heat. I took some migraine medication, hopefully it starts working soon. I wanted to share the craft that I just finished. It's a thrift store flip of a painting to a spooky painting for Halloween. I painted the frame black. Here's the before and after and a little closeup of the detailed border.

@micaroo4 : Omigosh, I love Ryder! He has the same sweet face as Nell. I wonder if he's as vocal as ours--whenever she gets excited, like seeing someone come home, she barks, lol. They are some super smart dogs, that's for sure. What a cutie! Thanks for posting him!1

I love seeing everyone's photos.
Been a busy day for me, I've got a nasty cold and had an ultrasound and MRI already scheduled for today. So I did that all morning and had not had anything to eat or drink since yesterday so I was super moody and ready to eat when done. But I didn't stop and get fast food although I thought about it. Small victory there because before I would of justified getting the fast food as a reward.
The day is not done, I'm taking my kids to a birthday party and know there will be cake and sweets. Hoping to stay strong and only get a small piece of cake.

Hi friends, on a little early to catch up for yesterday. I'm on steroids and still waiting for my medication that ran out to be filled, I'm hoping I'll get it today so I can get some sleep. Did an hour in the greenhouse, had my charity meeting last night, and pain clinic appointment in the morning so the last two days have been too busy. Enjoy the rest of Friday and have a great Saturday! I'm off the wagon on the challenge at the moment but will get it back, I needed a break while feeling bad. I'm on steroids for 15 days so it's going to be a challenge not to eat too much!2 -

How is everyone doing with the No Junk Food Challenge? For me, it's going great. I don't normally eat a lot of ultra processed junk food anyway, so I took this challenge as an opportunity to reduce added sugars. So I nixed all the obvious treats where sugar would be found, and then started checking labels for sugars in the not so obvious places. I notice a difference in cravings now that I'm not eating added sugar.

Such a crazy day! I wanted to make an exercise area in my office, so I was going to take down my mirror and move it - that's where it started. I took down the mirror, patched up and painted, but we painted like 5 years ago so it wasn't matching and ended up moving everything to paint the whole wall. With everything moved, I decided to reconfigure my layout and get even MORE workout space! (And better natural lighting for my zoom calls 😉)
All this to say - I didn't get to tabbouleh today so I'll have the recipe tomorrow.
Here's some before and afters!The workout area isn't finished, waiting on a purchase (last photo) to arrive so I know how high to hang the mirror that the bench/step/thing can tuck under neatly.
@micaroo4 I've been doing the same watching added sugars as well as things sweetened with sugar substitutes, and it has made such a difference. Glad to see its doing the same for you! Good work cutting down, I think its one of the harder (food related) addictions to quit.2 -
Yesterday was my Birthday! So thankful to see another year to celebrate! But, I the doctor says I have Covid. The test said negative but she said I have all of the symptoms. I can still taste and smell so I've been eating like a horse. Common sense tells me to cancel my family outing for today though the doctor said to go ahead but wear a mask. Hubby and I didn't go to dinner last night as planned. This timing sucks!
I'm still grateful for a new year!! I'm tired this morning and feel a little bit better but can't go back to sleep.

@Katmary71 Thank you! I also went to SDSU. It is pretty here. I love it! Yeah, migraines are the bain of my existence. It's gone now though. Thanks re: my painting. I hope the steroids help and they get your medication issue straightened out soon.
@micaroo4 I'm doing so-so with the challenge. It's definitely helping me work towards no junk but I've had challenging days. You are doing awesome.

Hi all. My migraine is gone today. I was wiped out yesterday, I slept most of the day. No junk food in a few days now. Yay! I joined the YMCA and am going to the stretch class this morning. I wanted a pick-me-up so I scheduled time with a personal shopper at Macy's. It's a free service with no obligation to buy anything so I thought I'd see what she picks.

I had been holding on to weight from last week that wouldn't budge and this week I got a cold so didn't eat a lot. That's why I lost so much this week. I know it won't be the same next week and I might put some on when I start feeling better. But it does feel nice to see it go down to where I was when I got pregnant with my last two kids. It's been five years since I was this weight. So feeling happy with the number.6 -

@vegan4lyfe2012 ah, my tea choices! That’s a rabbit hole I have a slight obsession and usually have 40-70 varieties in the tea cupboard.
At the moment I’m going for one that’s easy on the gut with high caffeine. It’s called Gyokuro Yamashiro and is a Japanese green. Super delicate, and my favourite green.

I had a good week at work, meds seem to have kicked in and I’m doing pretty well but being extremely careful with diet.
I have 25 pounds of tomatoes to process today. Made a lot of sauce last weekend so maybe going to try salsa, pick de gallo and soup today.

@micaroo4 I'm so glad the challenge is going great for you! I can tell a big difference in cravings too when I abstain from sugar and simple carbs. I'm off the wagon until Monday as Sunday's my Dad's birthday and we're going to the Old Spaghetti Factory followed by cake and ice cream but I feel lousy from all the carbs so I'm going to eat a healthy dinner tonight. Keep up the great work!

Hi friends, this place has been hoppin! I got one prescription straightened out, I'm not getting much sleep and am hoping that will change real soon. I don't feel too hot after eating bread and ice cream so I'm eating a healthy dinner and lunch tomorrow then will enjoy my Dad's birthday. I'm making my marijuana tea (it simmers for 45 minutes) and am having mad flashbacks to living in the UC Santa Cruz dorms right now, lol. Going to try a little stretching tonight, I'm super stiff and need to move a little without hurting myself. Have a great Saturday night and Sunday!2 -

Hey y'all,
It's been a busy last couple of days. So tonight, I decided to go out for mexican (my favorite) I tried to stay on my plan, but it didn't work out that well. I didn't bomb it as bad as I could have though. Tomorrow, I'll be right back on track.
I never got to make my bagels yesterday, so that is one of the things I'm planning on doing tomorrow. I cleaned out my spice cabinet and I now have some of my oils and vinegars still laying out. Tomorrow, my main goal is to clean out the pantry and get all my vinegars and oils in one spot so I don't have to be looking for them all over the place anymore, lol.... I'm really trying to be organized.

Well, I fell off the no-sugar band wagon this morning. Rich took me to Tucker's for breakfast, where they make the Very Best Chai that I've ever had. I have attempted to duplicate it at home, and I come pretty close, but not as good. Of course it's made with honey, so I got a dose of sugar. Let me tell you, after over 2 weeks of no sugar, it tasted very sweet! Not too sweet mind you, but delightfully sweet. I'm going straight back to my Sugar-Free September routine, but it was delicious!
