HOW IT ALL WORKS: The October challenge runs for 4 weeks, from October 1 - 28. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hi, my name is Erica! I live in the Chicagoland area with my husband, 2 kids and 2 cat babies. I'm 41 and I've always strived to be healthier, and have lost and gained weight over the years. But over the past 3 years I had gained and was my heaviest. Over the past year I've started being really focused on losing the weight and staying pretty consistent, being mindful about what I'm eating and also being kind to myself and being more active. I was using Noom over the last year but I think I've used all the apps, eating styles and methods
I've lost about 20 lbs and want to lose another 10. I could probably lose more than 10 but I want to be realistic and that will get me in a healthy BMI range. I'm giving myself until the end of this year, and then at whatever lowest weight I get to, I'm going to stop trying to lose and just work to maintain it and remain fit. I really love community and challenges, so I thought joining this would be a great boost for the last 10 lbs or more, if possible, to keep me inspired and motivated.
For exercise I like to walk, do fun youtube exercises like kickboxing or dancing. When I'm not working, I love to cook, read, play video games, and watch movies with my family.
Today my husband and I are cooking steak, fries and salad. And I'll be taking a walk, it's a beautiful day today. And will get some exercise tearing up the garden.4 -

I'm badnoodle, and I live in West Virginia with two cats, and a large tank of vociferous firebelly toads.
I have lost 80lbs this year after being diagnosed with T2 diabetes, starting Ozempic. and moving to a lower carb diet. But I really struggled in September with staying on-plan, and community accountability is really helpful for me.
My goal for October is to go to hot yoga class at least twice a week, and get at least 7000 steps a day.
I've had a cold/the flu/really bad allergies/not covid for the past couple of days, so I really didn't want to eat or do anything strenuous. But I made a yellow squash "lasagna" for dinner that was so good I ate a quarter of the pan!5 -
Hi Slimpossibles!
My name is Mica, and I live in southern New Hampshire on the seacoast. I live with my partner Rich and my cat Earl (Earl is my profile pic). I am 67 years old and I work part time as a bookkeeper in a plastics factory. At my heaviest weight I was 220. I lost 90 pounds between 2001 and 2003, and I struggled with gaining and losing 50 pounds over the next 15 years, but I've been maintaining in my goal range of 127-133 (center weight 130) since 2019. I do a "walk the year" challenge every year (walking 2023 miles in 2023, which is about 6 miles/day). My favorite exercise is riding a bicycle (outdoors) and my hobbies are birding and crochet. I have a lot of exercise equipment in my house so I am always able to maintain my workout schedule regardless of weather or season. I love these challenges because they keep me accountable!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @Katmary71!
So... I have been lurking in the background for the past 2 months. Things just got really depressing after we lost hubbies car in Aug. But then about 2 week ago hubby bought me this for my Birthday present (for the next 10 yrs).
We have our first trip planed this week for my birthday which is tomorrow. We are going to Buchanan Lake for a few days. Then in Nov we have a trip planed for Buffalo National Park in Arkansas.
I am so excited!!!
I would all so like to say welcome to all of the new comers!
For you this is a brief intro:
I am Sandy from Copperas Cove, Tx. I live with my husband John (who is a Colon Cancer Survivor), our cat Tigger, and dog Diesel. We have 2 Children Brittney and Stephen both married with families of their own. Together they have blessed us with 5 grandsons.
I had a heart attack and quit smoking in March '13 put on 50 lbs. that I am still struggling to lose. I have lost about 15. Now that the heat wave broke I can start walking a bit more.
I am going to join in on posting daily steps my goal is 8k but pushing for 10k.
GO OUT AND BE AMAZING TODAY!

Yay October!
I'm bethanie0825. I'm 39 y/o and live in Central NC with my hubby, Max the doggo, and occasionally my step-son, who is a sophomore at UNC-Charlotte. I have about 100lbs to lose and did so well on saxenda till my insurance quit covering it. They cover it now but there's none to be found so I'm back to doing this on my own. I am a FT 911 dispatcher and PT grocery cart pusher. I'm giving the habit tracker a go this month
I'm on Fitbit - bethanieisbell@gmail.com

Welcome new peeps, I hope you find our little slice of the internet safe and uplifting.3 -

Hi everyone, I'm Jessica and I live in East Tennessee with my husband, three sons and our cat Mr. Waffles. I started my weight loss journey in mid June and have lost almost 30 lbs so far. For exercise I enjoy walks in my neighborhood, youtube dance videos and resistance training with my bands. I had a health scare last year after surgery where I was put back in hospital with sepsis and several areas of infection. It took time to get rid of the infection and I really hated feeling so weak and sick. I knew I wanted to make changes in my life and start really living. So I started investing in my health and went to my first physical as an adult. I met with a NP who runs a weigh loss/lifestyle management program and she helped me with my goals for water intake, Carbs, and calories. I enjoy the support from this group and it's helping me stay focused an on track.3 -

I was a little lower but then Saturday happened. I chose Sundays as my weigh in precisely to force myself to behave on Saturday lol. But I’ll take this 2lb for sure!4 -
Hello everyone! And welcome to October!
I’ll try to give you myself in a nutshell
Hi, my name is Meg (hence the username).
I’m 41 with a 12 and 8 year old. Live on a farm in Southern Ontario and work full-time as a teacher.
The last time I was at a healthy weight was 2018. Since then I’ve gained more than 60 pounds for all the reasons we are all familiar with.
I’ve been doing really well this past month, totally cleaning up my diet. My family has given up Diet Coke, sweets and the weekly take-out habit we picked up over covid “to support local restaurants”. Some of those decisions were financially motivated since we booked a cruise for New Years
others are in solidarity with my youngest who just got a palate expander and has a list of forbidden foods.
Anyway, I can’t wait for this month ahead. I’m excited to see where it takes us and excited to take this journey with all of you.

Hello Team!! I'm Joy. I am 47 years old a wife and a mother of 3. My goal this month is to begin a new lifestyle that will involve better eating habits, exercise, and ultimately the loss of 30lbs. I look forward to sharing in this experience with all of you!!

Congratulations to all those who’ve had a loss this week. 🎉
Welcome to our new members 🎊
I’m thrilled to be here with you all since January. You’ve helped me lose almost 30 lbs since then.
I’m a married mom of 3 amazing kids. I have 3 rescue dogs, they’re my crazy girls. I’m a Hoosier that’s bouncing between 2 countries, living the expat life.
My plan is low carb, no breads, pasta, rice (usually), 30 minutes cycling, strength training and 10k steps daily. Some days are better than others but I keep it going.
I’ve had some health issues these last 6 years and it’s been full of ups and downs but I’m feeling on the up now even with some craziness I must manage with.
Enjoy the October challenge. We’re a great team and I feel this is our month 😊3 -

Great job on last week, Slims! You all rock!

I'm Barb, I live in the mountains of North Carolina with Mr. Neon_Ninja and Nell, Pupster Extraordinaire. We all like to hike so it's nice to live here and we spend a lot of time on the Appalachian Trail. I also work a few days a week on a farm taking care of various animals--which sounds glamorous, I know
--but love the workout it gives me. Plus a few goat snuggles never hurts.
I was a fat kid then a slim adult, but getting older has me putting on the pounds for various reasons. I tend to lose and regain, repeat cycle. Last month was pretty awesome for me, mostly due to commitment to MFP and the team here. So, that being said:
Welcome to all the newbs and those returnees! Consider me waving madly at you!
Feel free to add me if you want a friend.

Hi all. Welcome to October!
My name is Tammy and I’m 55 years old. I work in the health care field and am hoping to retire at 60. I’m a mother of 2 adult boys and have 3 grandchildren. We are now in my favourite season. I absolutely love the fall with all the colours of the trees and the fresh smell of the air. I live in Ontario Canada and live on the st Lawrence river. So beautiful right now. I have been struggling with weigh and self esteem most of my life and it has only been this past year that thing have really changed for me. I hit my peak at 260 and knew something had to be done that was different than anytime before. U chose my fitness pal and by that time I had managed to get done to 249 on my own but struggled with cravings binging and self hate. It will be a year on Oct 7 since joining here and my life has taken a huge turn thanks to everyone and yes myself. I was really upset the other day talking with my husband that my year on here was coming up and all I had managed to lose was 44 lbs. but then he said that that was great. Slow is better plus it hasn’t been all about weight but also self love and balance in myself which I have found. That made me feel good and made me also recognize him as being my most supportive person. He is my rock.
Anyway. Just want to thank you mfp friends.7 -

Hi friends! I'm Kathy, Mission Slimpossibles team motivator. Our captains are the incredible @trooworld and awesome @Broncobuddee leading us. I'm 52 and live in the Sacramento area in CA with my two 4-year-old cats. I joined Fat2Fit almost 5 years ago after stopping a lot of medication for chronic pain issues and realizing my health was so bad I wasn't going to live much longer. I'd just been diagnosed with diabetes and after a few decades of real strong pain medication my liver was a mess and failing to the point I was throwing up all the time and being hospitalized and had hit 222lbs. I have challenging spinal issues after multiple surgeries caused it to weaken plus my most severe injury was pelvic and bladder nerves being burned during a laparoscopy. I'm trying to figure things out with less medication without becoming bedridden this time around as I've worked hard to become active in the community and make friends/connections. I'm around 160 right now and need to get down a bit but have been on and off steroids so that makes it tough but definitely don't want my diabetes to come out of remission. I do part-time claims then volunteer with the food bank farm and their greenhouse and a local charity that helps the elderly and disabled with household chores and community events to enrich the isolated and less fortunate in our community. I'm doing chair cardio, weights/strength, and stretching these days plus have a garden I spend a lot of time in. I love to read, watch movies, go to concerts, volunteer at the farm, and spend time with friends and family. I'm currently waiting to see a neurosurgeon in a couple weeks because of a neck compression and all but two discs in my spine being damaged.
Let's have an incredible October! If you see some beautiful fall colors I'd love to see photos in our group, I'll keep my eye out too as it's just starting here to look like fall. Of course any photos you'd like to share are awesome as I love getting to know everyone more.
Here's my cats checking out birthday balloons my friends with the charity gave me, sorry for disappearing as my BFF came to town Friday afternoon and we hadn't hung out in person for a couple years so we did lots of talking and movie watching. Saturday was the farm, farmer's market, then meeting up with the charity to enjoy a cocktail we're receiving some proceeds from with their Cocktails for a Cause plus lunch at local bar. Kristi left this morning then tonight was dinner with my parents and brother's family, I didn't get home until after 9 but wanted to catch up before going to bed.

@Trooworld Can't wait to hear about Disneyland, glad you had fun and those steps are awesome! Thank you for the adorable birthday card with an “Asher” kitty! My friend came Friday-Sunday morning and hasn't visited since my ex-boyfriend lived here so I wanted to enjoy our time together plus we did a lot of running around then tonight was going out to dinner with my family.
@865jessica Ideas on good protein: Greek yogurt with fruit after dinner sprinkled with cinnamon and a little sweetener if the yogurt is unsweetened stirred and put in the freezer for an hour is my low-calorie dessert at night, Yasso bars are another good option. A protein drink or bar. Hummus and veggies, cheese, a “pizza” of low calorie tortilla with skim mozzerrella and sliced tomatoes or tomato sauce with Trader Joe's sweet and spicy jalapenos and olives or other low cal but flavorful toppings (nonfat refried beans and cheese with hot sauce or salsa on a low cal tortilla is another good one), eggs, a chicken sausage, some bacon (not too high in calories), salad with shrimp and veggies and low cal dressing, roasted chickpeas or tofu, tuna or egg salad in lettuce wraps. Cheese isn't very high protein but for the calories a half serving of feta gives a lot of flavor.
@bethanie0825 You got this, I know steroids can pack on the lbs and as far as starting over again can I applaud you for your record of not quitting and striving to be better and healthier? Watch out for this gal, she used to beat me on step challenges in the middle of the night right before the challenge would end, she's ruthless! How frustrating not to be able to get saxenda after doing well on it, that's so frustrating.
@crhillis Welcome to Mission Slimpossibles, we're happy to have you as part of our team!
@Micaroo4 Way to go, glad you had fun and you're still in your safe zone, you got this! Thank you for the birthday wishes!
@eagree Great job on steps Erica! You'll have to share some of your favorite exercise videos and recipes with us! You have a bunch of fellow readers here as well. What are you up to in your garden? I've done fall/winter gardening at home but it's going to be the first year going year-round for the farm, I'm excited to learn from it.
@Tammymccrady6278 I'm happy you'll be posting more, great job being honest with yourself. Congratulations on going on a year this week, I agree 44lbs is amazing and you have a lot to be proud of! Your husband sounds awesome, I'm glad you have him (of course he's lucky to have you too!).
@megnolia82 Great NSV, that's wonderful! Yes you get that skirt out and strut around in it!
@elelja945 Welcome to our family, we're happy you're here!
@sleepygirl79 Awesome job tracking and getting back to it, sounds like you got a lot of exercise too!
@badnoodle Oh that lasagna sounds amazing, yum! Do you have ragweed allergies? I read somewhere that allergies around this time are usually from them. I love your exercise goals for October, sounds like the perfect time for you to join us after a tough September. I'm so glad you're becoming more confident, congratulations on posting the selfie! I didn't have a photo for a long time here and on Facebook, it wasn't until I was here for a couple years. So happy for you!
@txcritter69 Thank you! Wow that's beautiful, I'm so glad you're off soon to adventure, I hope you share lots of photos! Happy birthday to you, we have a lot of Libras in this group! Thank you, you be amazing too!
@AmbersWay We're thrilled to have had you here since January! I'm happy to hear you're feeling like you're in an upswing, Fall's a fun time to be on the right track.
Mission Slimpossibles congratulations on 2nd place team percentage results and pound results!
@Megnolia82 @Neon_Ninja @steffibabiie Great job top winners on leading the pack for the month of September and the last week and being four weeks in the green!
@Neon_Ninja LOL love that meme! Haha ironically for some reason when I put on music at the greenhouse I always end up with Sheila E's The Glamorous Life playing when I let it go randomly, pretty ironic when I'm covered in dirt in a flannel with hair in a ponytail. The farm sounds awesome to me.
Hi friends! Was out to dinner with my family tonight, Chinese food then cake and ice cream, feeling like a chubette right now yikes. I had a great birthday weekend, I'm lucky to have a lot of good friendships and close family member relationships in my life. The Fat2Fit challenge is the rainbow challenge this week, come join in it's a lot of fun! I'm planning to rest a bit tomorrow and try to make a big dent in the garden, didn't sleep well as there's a skunk that's been spraying every night so even with windows closed it wakes me up and I need some rest as the week is pretty busy.
Let's have an awesome October my friends, I'd love to see your fall photos of your area as well!3 -

Good Morning!
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that had a great week!
@trooworld Glad you had a wonderful day at Disneyland. That is some serious steppin'
@bethanie0825 I sent you a friends request on fitbit and Stridekick
@Katmary71 Thank you too!
Today I am 54, making future promises to myself for what I want to accomplish in the next year. Since joining in Feb. I have successfully lost 5 lbs and keeping it off. That does not sound like a lot, but for me it is baby steps towards my goal. This year for my Birthday wish I want to see a 10 lbs loss and keep it off. I did not gain it over night so my expectations to lose it over night are way to high 😂.
GO OUT AND BE AMAZING TODAY!4 -
Good Morning everyone, got in my morning walk after dropping the boys at school and got a photo of a hawk.

It's nice to see the changing of the leaves start and enjoy the cool fall mornings.
