That's how I measure anything that can be scooped or scraped up with a knife. Cottage cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, butter, jam, sour cream, protein powder, mayo, homemade soups/stews/casseroles, etc

avo on toast with some smoked salmon.
Proper coffee with milk becoming my norm to start the day.. instead of my usual builders brew… I would never have thought this!

I thought proper goes together with "cuppa" not with "coffee"!?!?!??!

Brunch today 😬…. Freshly ground coffee, splash of milk, croissant (bit stale & refreshed in oven) with strong cheddar & yorkshire ham! Still in EU! Was alright! Bit crunchy!

“Found” some rather dehydrated (old…how old?!) dates in pantry….. waste not want not - stuffed them with some peanut butter & covered them with melted dark chocolate ….. online ideas.

    Need to go food shopping!

Carbs. Buttered toast with marmite & builder’s tea.

Ok, not sure what those are @Creamtea42 - but sounds eggless!

I remain bereft of eggs. Bottom price $6 for 12 large, nonames and skyrockets from there…

    Horrors - not marmite!

I agree to the horror of Marmite!🤪🤪🤪 That said.... sounds almost what we pay for eggs here regularly 🤣 😉 🤣 (ok maybe a tiny bit less considering the exchange but not as much as you might think!)🤷‍♂️

Not too long ago, before the skyrocket, eggs were routinely available at $1/doz. They have dropped recently at $6/doz. I just can't. There remain other foods. And, inexplicably, we are finding large shrimp on sale for $3/pd and mangos for 49cents instead of $4 - $6 ea. Other proteins regularly on sale under $2/pd, so eggs just off the table awhile until they drop back... sometimes though, I just miss them - to my surprise - had not realized how entwined they were in my daily food choices.

Today, we had a shrimp & diced ham, veg, fettucini soup. We often made 'egg flower' veg soup, and shrimp were infrequent treat until the recent sales (which we figure are temporary... if not, would be delighted if shrimp stays at $3/pd.)

I am still doing my Quaker Oatmeal Squares with a banana and 2% lactose free milk. It's fast. It's easy. It's gentle on my stomach.

I actually don't like eating breakfast, but my new doctors want to see if it will help with the binging in the evenings. So far I think it does. It also gives me a bit of energy for work and for getting in a walk when the weather is good.

Ooh - I forgot all about Quaker oatmeal squares cereal. Used to love it. And now it comes in more flavors. Thanks Athijade!

Tomorrow - 1/2 blueberry bagel with pb, chocolate protein powder in coffee.

    Can't wait.

This morning sampled a 'premier protein lemon drink' (hubby is considering wls.) Not too bad but fortified and felt like that taste came thru.

Talking of your Oatmeal squares @Athijade - found a recipe for oats, almond flour and rhubarb squares - still need to try your type!

Breakfast yesterday was out - my student son has landed a temp summer job at a farm shop / cafe .. so just went to have a look 😉 and just had to eat as had missed breaky at home….

Had sourdough toast with avocado, poached eggs, roasted tomatoes and watercress salad.
Was expensive (£18 with a coffee) but tasted amazing!

Guesstimated it out at about a whopping 480 calories, filled me up though and kept me going till supper….

    continuing the 'high heat' bunny-geddon!

Just shy of a lb (exactly 5 bunnies!) of honeydew, cantaloupe, and strawberries from the "on sale" fruit platter ;-)

Plus two slices of bread and not yet expired pulled rotisserie light chicken meat! Did I even bother adding mustard or pickles? NAH! Just quickly snuck it in while four legs was out sun-tanning!

Looks like 150 Cal from Fruit bunnies, 136 Cal from Bread, 129 from Chicken and 8 from coffee so far today!

Went to brunch with my daughter. Had an egg white omelet with pepper jack, sauteed onions and Canadian bacon. So good.

But was the Canadian bacon from Canada? I'm fairly sure that it was NOT! ;-)

I was supposed to have bagels with cream cheese this week for breakfast, but that just does not sound good. Thinking I may take a break at work, go back to the store, and get some breakfast sandwiches or something for the week.

Just not feeling well. I was sick for a couple weeks and my fatigue levels have not improved. I deal with post viral chronic fatigue after having Covid in 2022 and just don't recover like I used to.

Sauteed 2 days breakfast vegs - broccoli slaw, spinach (from packages) leftover dinner peas, mushrooms.

    1000021967.jpg

Divided - wished I had made more! Scrambled 1/2 with eggs, 1/4 avocado on 2 pc thin toast (1 pc equivalent.)

Tried Almond Breeze unsweetened in morning coffee. Was different flavor from usual so took a week or so for taste buds to embrace and start mouth watering @ morning coffee thoughts, lol
