    Question:

This question is more for my own curiosity. For those celebrating the holidays, do you log everything on the days you celebrate or do you not log?

No logging for me - nothing to use to weigh my food - don't know what is in the recipes. I just will enjoy the days and get back to it on Tuesday.

This is my thoughts also. I have absolutely no clue how many calories are in some of the foods we will be eating the next 2 days. I will be mindful but I will eat, drink and be merry.

    Saturday weigh-in

    PW: 269 lbs
    CW: 266 lbs

Fantastic loss! As for lean muscle mass I don’t trust my scales reading but you can report yours. I would love to go for a scan sometime to see my readings.

Bummed but not surprised. Feeling very out of control. Triggers everywhere!

Thanks for the recommendation @itladyee Downloaded the audiobook Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Emotional Eating. I have an hour commute to/from work so will start listening Tuesday. Hope it helps with finding that something that just clicks.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays🎄🎅🎁

Just try to be mindful the next few days. We can all get back on track Tuesday.

@NouveauRee ~ I haven't started yet and think I will target January 3 to get it going (I'll be on vacation prior).

I made cookies today at the request of my husband....BUT.. I didn't make my favorites ( a Plus). I did try two new recipes ....one at oatmeal cookie recipe. Very sensitive as half burnt (a good thing), the ones that survived are good. I also made this peanut butter chocolate bar....(still chilling). The oatmeal cookies will be my challenge, the others...I can pass.

I am so glad I am a terrible baker. I don’t even own a hand mixer though one of these days I should get one. My friend makes chocolate peanut butter balls and they are to die for so I probably would have a hard time staying away from your peanut butter chocolate bar.

Too many treats this week and a lot of dishes with salt. Next week here we come!
Just a few days and the Christmas temptations will be gone.

    Friday weight in

    Start weight 276lb August 2021

    Pw 177.5lb
    Cw 176 lb

I've done it. 100lb lost. I'll be honest and tell you I've cheated to get to goal this week🤣🤣
I was really naughty and have eaten virtually nothing for 2 days, just too get to goal!
Thank you everyone for your support, especially Linda! Couldn't have got there without you.
I'm actually lighter than i want to be ... my maintenance is going to be around 185lb so I'm really looking forward to having a few drinks (no alcohol for the last 3 months) and eating a bit more before starting maintenance in January xx

I am so proud of you. You know you helped me also. The Christmas weight loss challenge was a big motivator. Just watch you on your journey has really helped me. I will be turning 60 in June. Your drive to be healthy by 60 inspired me. I am glad to have a maintenance buddy.

I will get you moved to maintenance for the January challenge. Give me a maintenance range. I need a low and high range. Mine is 157 to 163.

Thanks Linda, don't be to hasty too move me to maintenance! I can put 20lb on in the blink of an eye🤣🤣 Will probably be back to "need to lose some weight" by 1st January!!
My maintenance range is going to be 183 to 189lb. 190 being me alarm weight when i know things are getting out of control!

You’re not going to base your range around your goal weight? We will move you back to weight loss if you are over the top of the maintenance range 2 weeks in a row. I like that rule because it helps if those of us in maintenance stay in our range. We can make adjustments to that range at anytime if we need. I may lower mine depending on what my weight is at the beginning of the January challenge. I am going to talk to my family doctor again because the pain specialist thinks losing another 10 pounds will be beneficial to my chronic pain. I think my family doctor can be over cautious.

My goal weight was silly! I just got it into my head that i wanted to lose 100lb and i did. But i ve realised that 176lb is not a good weight for me. Sounds ridiculous but I've had people asking me if I'm anorexic🤣 Im also reintroducing carbs to my diet and i know from experience i will instantly gain 7lb of water weight. 185lb feels like a very comfortable weight for me, more realistic, sustainable and still the lightest I've ever been as an adult! Not bad for 60 years old!!

We have to pick a weight that’s comfortable for ourselves individually. I think the first month or two of maintenance is figuring out the exactly where we need to be. You proved to yourself that you could lose the 100 pounds. Realizing that it was not a comfortable weight for you is a big win. I think for myself if I tried to maintain a weight that is too low, I would be setting myself up for failure. Let me know when you want to move to maintenance.

I will be back to my walks and swimming next week. While I have done any intentional walks the last two days, I did move a lot. I just have a few stocking stuffers to wrap and pick up my baked goods at the bakery. Tonight is my favourite part of Christmas. We do finger foods and games at my daughters. Going a bit later as my daughter got off night shift at 7 this morning.

A Quick Note: It's so easy to be discouraged by the number on the scale this time of year, but remember that our bodies are doing everything they can to keep us alive. It takes in more water to process excess salt and sugars, needs time to grow new muscle, doesn't work as effectively when stressed or sick... grant yourself some grace, grant your body some grace, and know that a few bad decisions will not undo months and months and months of progress.

You're doing better than you think. Happy Holidays!

I was really hoping for a bigger weight loss but I have been having some extra treats this week. I am just glad it wasn't a huge gain. I wanted to do the 5k yesterday but I was sick. I have been sick for a couple of days. Finally on the other side of it. Christmas day will be rough with food. We will go to my mother in laws house and they have a lot of junk. I have brought food in the past and it did not go over well. I may just eat before I go and hide someplace with the kids.

I am so sore today. Too much sitting yesterday even though my steps are high. We had so much delicious food last night with my favourite being the lobster and crab dip. Though I was glad to see a veggie tray as I haven’t been eating enough freggies the last week. We are going to a family friends for brunch then to my daughters to exchange gifts. We had so much fun playing ramolli last night we are doing it again today. We are having prime rib tonight that my son will be smoking. He has made some great food with his smoker. There will be lots of treats throughout the day. I already got into my Terrys orange chocolate. My hubby got me lots of new clothes, a wallet, slippers and most importantly my terrys orange chocolate.

I hope Santa was good to you all. Have a very Merry Christmas!

Please don’t be hard on yourself this week if you do not have a loss. The important thing is to get back on track after the holidays. Look to your NSV’s this week. Think about your goal for the New Year. Make smart goals that will help you get closer to your goal weight.
