@adrimango - great job at the luncheon event! It sounds like you made a lot of good choices, and then reaped the reward of feeling good, and proud of it! The habits are happening. Keep them fresh as needed, and they will serve you well.
@micki48 under 200 by age 60 is certainly doable - a good aim for sure. Today's walk looks like it was a beautiful way to get started on that work!
I hope your day of rest and being taken care of was a lovely one @YinxFed . Getting your weekends back in the not-too-distant future will do you a lot of good, I am sure. In the meantime, shut that computer off and kick back any day or half-day you can!
@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 - your legs must be sore tonight! 150 km in one day - hope you made it! That's a power ride for sure.3 -
And now (drumroll) the last call for week 4 and the first for week 5! A double-header
Due by 10 hours from now:
@EvMakesChanges
@veronica1359
Due Sunday:
@YinxFed
@Zumbaforever
Thanks!3 -
@lauren_989 The tank is 230 gallons and by itself weighs 800 pounds. Enjoy your trip to Florida. It is a beautiful state. I lived there when I was in 2nd grade. So much fun. Grew watermelons in our backyard.
@YinxFed I agree with the rest. Enjoy a day of rest. Recharge your batteries.
@adrimango sounds like a win in restraint. I bet it will get easier. Great food choices.
@micki48 Pick one thing you need,want to change. And stick to it faithfully. I love to walk, and that photo was beautiful. And the best thing is all that time walking I bet you didn't eat.
I did get in a walk. Spent half the day driving up the mountain to help a friend balance our HOA account.

Sunday: 1,513
Monday: 5,319 + 60 min body pump class
Tuesday: 3,694
Wednesday: 4,080
Thursday: 8,735 + 30 min jog @ 5mph
Friday: 3,525
Saturday: 6,321 + 60 min body pump class
@adrimango great job with consistency and picking the best option while eating out. I know it can be hard making those decisions, especially if you don't know what is being served ahead of time.
@micki48 I feel you! As I said, this week I have been doing a lot of thinking myself. I have been reading a book called mind over weight by Ian Smith, MD. It is really good and has some actions to take at the end of each chapter. A lot of it is stuff you may know already, but I did find some tips to help me. I am about 3/4 done with the book, so I can't comment on everything.
2 things that stuck with me so far:
1) If you can keep promises to others, work on keeping promises with yourself
2) This one is about cravings: The
answer starts in your belief system
You must believe that regardless of
how deep and forceful the craving, you
can get beyond it and be better off by
not giving in to it.
I don't have a lot of self confidence and I need to work on that. Instead of saying, I have done this before and lost weight, I tend to look at the negatives and am more like look how many times you failed, you will most likely fail again. So as I said, interesting book.5 -

Happy 1st day of Week 5!
We won week 4! In spite of some gains, we were overall the team with the best losses, so you see? It does not hurt the team if you have some gains from time to time.
I do have an observation to share, though. I know that my wonderful co-captain @ashleycarole86 and her fabulous hubs @bowens1973 were feeling bad about posting a gain this week. This follows a week when they both had big losses. I know this can feel terrible - you make huge progress only to lose a good bit of it (or more!) the following week. All I can say is that in doing the stats week in and week out on these teams, I have seen this over and over again. Be careful with those super enthusiastic weeks when you lose 2% or more! Your body has a hard time dealing with big change like that. Take it 1% at a time, and if you do have one of those whoosh weeks, don't worry if some of it un-whooshes the week after. Just keep on. You've got this!
Hugs all around - I'm off to get this day rolling. Snow coming!6 -
Congratulations to us 🎉🎉🎉
My week has been strange. I was busy at work and busy taking my son back to uni after he finished 6 week break. It was sad day and we all ordered pizza in his halls /dorm. That derailed me a little for a couple of days after. Today day off and back to it tomorrow....
Also tomorrow I am thinking about rejoining a gym. It is £40 a month or £410 per year. I will make cuts in different apps and things so I'll be able to afford it. If I go to 2 classes per week I will have my money back. I like strength training classes so I know once I book it I'll be OK.
I alway lose weight better when I am part of a fitness classes. My mindset changes and I'm doing OK.
I'm really sitting here huffing and puffing lol 🫣🤭 but joining gym seem like a good idea.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone 🥰

We made it! 5:19 of riding for Brad and 6:10 for me.
If I remember right they organize these quarterly so I have a benchmark for next time.
We were both sore and wiped so we went to bed at 9 and didn't get up until 8!
Endurance events are hard, both mentally and physically.. such a long time to sit in one place pedaling. But amazing to complete it.
Today will be a rest day, that's for sure!!7 -
Thank you for all the celebrations of my lunch event choices. There are a number of tempting snacks in the house right now and my wife made a lovely but big breakfast for the family today. After logging I realized it was nearly half my calories for the day! Just goes to show that one success or slip is never the whole story! Thank you @jugar for your note that the scale ebbs and flows and big drops are followed by gains. The body likes consistency!
My plan for today is to take a walk before the football games begin and do some meal prep so I have healthy options at the ready. Homemade calzones are on the menu for dinner while we watch the games. I'm planning to have half and add a big salad. I know I'll feel better after and in the morning if I do that vs a whole calzone and no veg. I hope everyone has a great day.3 -
Habit tracker check in:
I had wanted to check off more this past week than the week before. Happy to say that I did!
64 oz water 7/7
10K steps including exercise equivalent 6/7
4 days using Peloton app
4 days tracking every bite
3 days under calorie target

Happy Sunday Friends!

@ashleycarole86 can I please push my target steps back to 7,000. I thought that moving it up 1,000 steps would give me the stretch I needed to make it so. Unfortunately, I just feel more unaccomplished than normal, so keeping my step target at 7,000 (even though I want to exceed it!) would make me feel calmer and more in control.
@adrimango your achievements this last week are awesome - Way To Go! Consistency is definitely key.
@micki48 I hear you on feeling out of control - snap! But I know that we can both do this. It's like Liselyn @jugar says, being under 200lb at 60 is definitely doable!
@strong_fit_ells Hurrah for joining the gym! The price is definitely good value. I do most of my workouts via YouTube, but I do attend my weekly yoga class in person. And it costs me £35 for a batch of 5 classes. So if I were to extrapolate that out and compare it with your annual fee of £410 it would be costing me about £385 a year. I don't make it to every single class. Your arrangement seems good as it allows you to attend 2 classes each week. I think that my preference to work out from home is what makes me so reluctant to join a gym.
Thank you everyone for your kind words about yesterday. I definitely benefitted from my day of downtime.
I'll be back later with my stats for the last week.5 -

Way to go team!! Congratulations on a great week.
So glad to know I am not the only one feeling the struggle. Thank you for all the support. I have so many things to fix but the thing I’m going to work hardest to do is log my food!! Lots of things fall into place when I do. One thing at a time. Or more if it’s going well.
Rainy day here. Doing art and watching the football games. Not too much exercise. I need to work on that too.
@YinxFed so glad you took time to rest and honor your body. Happy to hear you feel better. I am contemplating a position change as well. Both of our lead teachers are leaving and I was lead at this school for five years when I lived here before, so I am trying to figure out if I want to take it on again. I’ve only got 5 years until retirement and my granddaughter is in the upcoming class to first grade. They’re my same kiddos from when I was in PreK. It’s more responsibility and more money, but still not sure. I like less responsibility right now. But I also don’t want to be mentoring a new teacher and not getting compensated for that work. I’ll likely apply and see what happens. So goes things in my future.2 -

Good night 😴 Friends3 -
I made the leaderboard! I needed to see that today. For some reason I've been down on myself today and getting worried about not losing any more before my conference. It's 7 weeks away but feels just around the corner. Just gotta keep putting in the work!10
-
@adrimango It's a great feeling, isn't it? And very motivating, too, no?
We both have targets in 7 weeks' time. I will be leaving my current job in 7 weeks and you have your conference. I will be keeping you in my mind on my journey.
Night night, Friends 🧡4 -
Hi! I’m finally catching up with all of your posts. So many kind thoughts and wise contemplations!
This past week was a bit wild but I’m looking for my schedule to even out with exercise and giving my body a chance to rest well so my weight fluctuations even out.
I succumbed to 2 desserts today and know I’ll be better about food intake tomorrow while I’m at work. Yay!
Let’s zoom int February and feel the energy begin to rise. That’ll help for sure!
More soon.4 -
Hmm. I worked out hard last week. And didn’t lose a single ounce. Still holding at 149
Will add my steps tomorrow. I put in an hour and 12 minutes of FitOn workouts today.
Well I was bummed today a little. The place that is holding some fish for me is having trouble finding one last one. It is a one spot foxface.4 -

A loss is a loss is a loss so I'll take it!
Enjoyed a huge salad and small calzone while watching the football games last night. I was hoping the Lions could hold on, but it was a fun game. I've did some meal prep for the week - cut veg for chicken fajitas for lunches (chicken is precooked) and made mini meatloaves for some dinners.
I also ordered a new bathingsuit for summer. I figure if I have soent the money on it and have it, I'll be motivated to keep doing what I need to do. If I didn't have a 13 year old daughter I'd hang it in the pantry as a reminder to choose well! Thought yall would find that image funny.
@zumbaforever Your body may just need a few more days to let go of some weight. Keep up with the great work, it will happen!5 -
My steps are as follows
Sun - 5035 + 10 min yoga
Mon - 2680
tues - 2404
Wed - 2524
Thurs -2692
Fri- 2430
Sat - 1350
I know it's horrible, I just could not get into it this week. But the scale doesn't seem to mind, cause it looks great. I honestly believe that for some reason, my body gets overwhelmed when I exercise every day, and it says OMG, she is doing all of this stuff, we have to hold onto everything. Is that even a thing ?
Anyway, I am going to stay with the step challenge, and I am going to keep my goal of 5k steps a day. It's hard, I work on my butt all day, and I have a small home, small office, so getting up and doing something doesn't get me lots of steps. But I need to work on getting more movement regardless of exercise, when I water my plants, I will do one at a time walking back to the sink to do each one, I am going to try to incorporate that kind of stuff, and now that football is over for us, I can get my hubby out on weekends to walk more.
So my goal for February, is 5k Steps a day, Pilates 3 times a week (it's a 20 min video) and Yoga 3 times a week. I will do some strength training also, but I don't think what I do is even enough to count, like right now, my concentration is on my arms, I have trouble opening jars, so my hubby has me doing these weird exercises to increase those particular muscles. But right now, I am only on 1 set of 10 reps of 5lbs. lol - I did Barre yesterday, only 6 minutes, but I felt it. Thats tough, I give those dancers credit, they are working all those weird muscles no body ever thinks about.
Hope you have a great day, I am off to catch up on all these posts.

Don't forget that working out = more muscle mass + some water to help them grow = more weight. Muscle weighs more than fat. You are changing your body composition. You rock!4 -
Happy Monday! not sure how that happened, but here it is. I'll be heading home tomorrow (yay!), so hopefully dad will still be doing ok today. I am not looking forward to the long drive, but it will be wonderful to be home.
I forgot the Monday reminders last night - here they are:

@StayFITTer
@cleaneater80
Thanks!4 -
@Gidgitgoescrazy Yup, it's a total thing! Our bodies really like the status quo. Have you considered a walking pad? I got one and it's a total game changer. My home office is tiny, a former walk-in closet but walking while I work or during meetings is awesome. I get so much positive feedback from people too! I always say I can stand still if walking is distracting and I have yet to have someone say it is. Instead they tell me how inspiring or jealous they are. I don't walk all day, but aim for 2 hours a day. I walk slowly - 1.3 miles an hour but those steps add up!4

Hello WaistAways! I am just catching up on the 42 new posts since I last checked in. Congrats on winning week 4! Lots of hard work paid off.
@ashleycarole86 - Friday, January 26 - 6,091 steps, 1 hour of CrossFit
Saturday, January 27 - 6,006 steps, 45 minutes of CrossFit
Sunday, January 28 - 3,163 steps
After reading through all the posts and being impressed by the small, positive changes @adrimango has made, thoroughly blown away by @ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 for their 150k (93 mi) pelomondo, and so grateful that your dad is doing better, @jugar and @EvMakesChanges, the one post I keep thinking about is the burnout and taking the time to listen to your body, @YinxFed. I'm so glad you did this for yourself!5
