Happy Week 4! Our wonderful Sunday people have, as always, got us off to a good start. Thanks @YinxFed and @tlcjen12 - just @strong_fit_ells to make it a wrap
I have some news for you all. I have decided that I need to shift my energies in new directions, and I will be leaving Fat2Fit in June or July, depending on how soon new leadership for the group can be put in place. I have been doing this for many years, and I think it is time for some new energy and ideas, and for me to do some new things. I have loved this group, and still get a real kick out of seeing how much heart we have for each other. Big triumphs and small, setbacks, frustrations, and silly giggles - it is all so, well, healthy!
So what's next? I will put out some feelers for a new co-captain for this team, and also for a new head honcho for the whole group. If any of you are interested in either role, let me know! Just send a direct message. The head honcho role will be the trickiest - lots of speed and accuracy flying spreadsheets is required, and time. Good old time. Perfect job for a retiree! Or a bored rich person I'm not going anywhere in a hurry, so we'll have time to find that perfect millionaire, right?
I know that @ashleycarole86 @MaddawgMadsen will continue to do a fabulous job, and will give tons of help in this transition. In the meantime - keep on getting healthy, strong, and fabulous!4 -
@jugar oh no!! You will be missed greatly!!4

So much has happened since I last logged in on Thursday!
@jugar - you will be missed! I am glad you are doing what is right for you, though.
@lauren_989 - I ended up getting the Renpho ES-CS20M Body Fat Scale. One of my coaches from CrossFit got this one shortly after doing a full body scan at a local chiropractic office. She said the results from the full body scan and the scale were very similar, but the scale was a lot cheaper. I don't like the results I've gotten on the scale, but it is proving to be motivation.
I flew to Portland, Oregon on Friday and flew back last night. I am so tired! The trip was very short, but it was so nice because we got to see a lot of my OH's family. His grandpa turned 90 and we had a big surprise party for him.4 -

I forgot to mention what I do to deal with stress - exercise, bake/cook, crochet, play board or card games, and play with my dogs. Those are at least the healthy ways I deal with it.2

Happy news!
I am pleased to announce that @lauren_989 has agreed to step up as co-captain! We'll be working together through May, and then she will take over from me in June. @ashleycarole86 and @MaddawgMadsen will keep up their great work as co-captain and motivator.
I am sure that Lauren will do a fantastic job keeping the records straight, encouraging everyone, and leading with grace. I know we are all volunteers in these efforts, and that everyone is working towards the same goals. This team is going to keep on providing a safe, encouraging place to work on hard things together!7 -
@jugar, you will be missed, Thank you for all your encouragement, and butt kicking.
@Lauren_989 thanks for stepping up
I feel blah, my stomach has been weird, I am not sure what is going on... Oh I bet it was the fact that I had Ice cream for dinner last night... I hope that is all it is.
I don't really have a whole lot to say, Oh wait... So over the weekend we went to De to visit friends, we haven't seem since Oct. since the last time we saw them I've lost 25-30lbs. Not one mention of it, I know it's noticeable. I was very disappointed, I mean I get it, it doesn't matter, but dang it, I've been working hard. Yet she had to tell me how she bought size 4 pants, and when I said yeah I've lost some weight too. She said :oh nice", then immediately changed the subject. I was hurt. But whatever I am not going to dwell on it, I will just continue doing me....
Have a wonderful rest of your monday !

@MaddawgMadsen thanks for the scale recommendation...even if it doesn't give good numbers. Something to change and motivate you like you said!
@Gidgitgoescrzy that is crazy that she blew off your weight loss. Especially since you said something. But keep up the hard work you are putting in!
Welcome new members @Vio_let23 and @katzservant!1 -
Hi Everyone - I'm looking forward to this challenge - getting to know the group, and getting fitter and losing weight along the way !2

Happy Monday folks! Another weekend in the books. Last I left you I was working on another Pelofondo event over the weekend (long distance riding on the Peloton). My goal was 150 KM and i did 85 on Saturday and was keeping great pace but had to take my mom out to run some errands and then by the time I was ready to finish up I started feeling unwell.. bad headache at first, stomach issues as of Sunday morning. Ended up in bed until about 3 pm Sunday and then got up to join Brad for a dog walk but that's all I could muster.
The good news - I feel mostly better today, I'm at the office, and the weather was bright and sunny enough for an outdoor spring walk at lunch. Yay.
There are no words to describe how much our beloved @jugar will be missed.. I found this group at just the right time and I never would have lost the 120 pounds without the support and accountability. Even in this tougher season of my life and despite the slippage this has always felt like a place I want to come to for support and friendship. Thanks for all the time and effort you've put in to build and sustain our lovely little section of the Internet. Happy for you to move on to other projects and know that they'll be lucky to have your energy.
@lauren_989 Welcome aboard and I have no doubt you'll do a fantastic job!
@Gidgitgoescrzy
Sorry that happened to you, sounds like you gave your friend an opportunity to encourage you and she focused on herself instead. I know from my experience when I lost a ton of weight not everyone commented and I think that's sometimes because people don't know if you want comments, etc. but the fact you brought it up would have made that clear. SO many reasons for why but at the end of the day your progess is the reward.
One thing I'll say is... those who sure were complementary about my physical appearance changes when I lost all the weight have been graciously quiet since I've regained a bunch of it. Tee hee.
Go drink your water and move your body folks! Let's start the week off with a bang!5 -

I'm going to give this a try! I am getting it installed to see how it all works. Thanks for putting these together @StayFITTer !2 -
@jugar
You’re welcomed to join us. I put this one together because someone said that it helps hold them accountable to workout. Figured we might as well build off the momentum of a new day, new week and 9 days before a new month!
Hope you like it!4 -
@ashleycarole86 - Thursday, April 18 - 6,806 steps
Friday, April 19 - 7,326 steps, one hour of spin
Saturday, April 20 - 3,639 steps
Sunday, April 21 - 6,634 steps
@gidgitgoescrzy - I'm sorry your friends responded that way. Last time I lost a bunch of weight, it seemed those who didn't comment on it were the ones that were jealous or noticing it in me made them not feel good about themselves. It seems weird though that you brought it up and instantly had the subject changed. I guess maybe she just needed to talk about herself for whatever reason. I'm glad you were able to share that with us. You know we've got you. You've lost a lot of weight and you're continuing to become a better, stronger version of yourself every day! Even with the occasional ice cream dinner . We see it and know it.0 -
Hi Everyone - I'm looking forward to this challenge - getting to know the group, and getting fitter and losing weight along the way !
Great to see you here! Let us know a bit about you - it is always great to meet new members. And if you have any questions about how things work, fire away!0 -

@strong_fit_ells great job on cutting the alcohol.
@jugar Thank you for all the encouragement and time spent lifting us up. I know the future of this group will be in good hands.
@Gidgitgoescrzy I"m saddened to hear of the insensitivity from your friend. Virtual hug and want you to know we acknowledge all the hard work you are doing.
@ashleycarole86 great job on all the riding this weekend.
what I do to deal with stress. - walk the dog and get outdoors, bake, exercise, clean ( I'm a rage/stress cleaner makes me feel like I've accomplished something)
It's an odd week for me, my husband's grandma passes last week and the funeral is tomorrow. Won't have the ability to weigh in this week from being out of town. Going to use some of my non-snacking ideas and put them to use this week.

Just caught up on posts -
@jugar the end of an ERA!! I will try not to get hyperbolic but WHAT will we do without you!
@lauren_989 saluting our new captain!!
@Gidgitgoescrzy that is super disappointing, I'm sorry that your friend clearly wasn't in the space to appreciate the work you've put in.
I had a very sludgey end to last week and a not-so-healthy weekend. Turned it around a bit yesterday evening by doing meal prep and trying to set myself up for success this week. Today was pretty close to a perfect day, eating and movement-wise. Work is still getting me a little worked up, if you will, and I got home pretty pissed off actually. My train went express on the commute home so I had to get off and wait for another. While making dinner, my pasta spoon flipped out of my hand and I got red sauce ALL over my cabinets, and 1 sock! I could feel the steam coming out of my ears. But:
1. Getting dinner in my system helped, and it was a delicious batch of chicken parm, crispy broccoli, and some thin spaghetti.
2. I started a new 4-week workout challenge with a trainer I like on instagram, and my bad mood almost made me think I should already skip out on it. But no. Got it done, about 30 min total lower body that I am SURE to feel tomorrow.
There is still a LOT on my plate for work and personal to-dos this week, and I travel home to long island on Thursday evening for the final weekend at my childhood home before it goes on the market in May (some weird feelings due!). I am starting to look forward to a more quiet May, and hopefully back to real progress on the scale.
Hello to new team members, and thank god Monday is over. Ta!3
