@865jessica @19shmoo69 Congrats on the losses!

@micaroo4 I love the pictures! That's awesome your brother made the pumpkins! The soup sounds really good, thanks for sharing!

@laurelfit57 Congrats on the loss! Thank you! We are definitely having fun! I need more than a nap, lol, I need a day off from work to recover!!! I'm sorry about your back. HAHAHA about what Ty did! I actually have had something similar happen to me with my dogs. No diaper on them though when it happened. :/ I hope you have a great time today. Great job on your day!

@Cornanda What do you think Gus will think of the cat? I hope it goes well. Enjoy your Sunday!

@TeresaW2024 Oh here they are! I am having a great time. :D Your lady's tea sounds like a nice experience. We have tea rooms here and I've always wanted to go to one.

What is your favorite thing to do with your free time? Why?
I love to do creative things (I mean crafts, painting, photography). It fills my soul and reminds me that there are other things to concentrate on than the unhappiness with my health and body.

Hi all. I had fun yesterday although we "only" stayed out until 12:30 am. The book fair was busy and fun. They had a lot of good deals on books but I passed them up because I have so many books at home. I did get a charm for my Kindle, it goes in the USB port when it's not charging. We went to a perfume store and got some new perfumes at a good price. We went for coffee. At night, we got dressed up and went out and about. It was fun. Here are a few pics.

I am stressed and getting over sick atm and I've been catching myself eating my emotions the last few days. Trying to use meditation to relax a bit. I'm going to also try some chair yoga. This may be the sick but I am rocking back and forth between not eating and eating EVERYTHING.

My favorite willpower tip. It's just a little mental dance I do when I feel like I MUST eat something. I remind myself that when I HAVE to go without food for a medical test or procedure, I have no problem doing it. Which means there really is no reason that I can't delay eating (or eat something healthier) even when there's no looming medical test involved. I just tell myself that the food will still be there when it's appropriate to eat it. Cravings are like stray cats: they go away if you don't feed them.

@trooworld What fun pics! I haven’t stayed up partying that late in 20 years. :D

@micaroo4 I love that tip, and I know it works because I’ve done it. Hunger really will fade. We just need to give it a second. :D

Good morning, and happy Monday! I woke up with a renewed determination to have a great week with food and exercise. Today, I’m starting a new workout program where I will do weight training three days a week and rebounding workouts four days a week. I also have to get it together and stop snacking in the afternoons! I think the culprit is the coffee, which leads to me wanting a little snack. It has to stop!! :s Today, Joe and I are going to go vote. He has been driving me nuts, worried he won't get to vote, so having that done will be peace of mind for us both. I also need to get gas, wash my car, and pick up a prescription. My sister just told me that they opened up a Hallmark store, and if Joe feels up to it, we might have a look. I always loved those stores! :)

Let's give this week's challenge a try, sounds like a fun one! I just printed it up so I can start my traveling adventure this week.

@TeresaW2024 Your ladies' tea sounds so fun! Enjoy the pastor appreciation, your church sounds amazing. My doctor and the assistant were kind of a joke I really shouldn't have driven home but once she said she thought it was my blood sugar I focused on that and getting food. I'm adding salt to my water and cutting back my blood pressure medication for now. Poor Joe and you, I'm glad there's a medication to help keep it up.

@Cornanda Does Gus get along with the cat? Good luck! What color mums did you get? My nephews get them for me for my birthday and the pink bloomed, yellow and maroon are about to open. You're doing awesome keep up this momentum! I found a yummy-sounding apple cider vinaigrette on that site and signed up for her emails.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH YOUR FREE TIME? WHY? I Volunteer at the food bank farm and a local charity, love gardening, cooking/making herbal creations, and reading, and going to concerts. I like them for different reasons so why is a tough one! I enjoy being part of my community and helping others plus like the team atmosphere, I'm more of a one-on-one person so it's out of my comfort zone a bit but I'm up for the challenge. Food bank farm is my love of gardening and helping people eat healthier who may not have access to healthy food plus I love caring for plants and seeing them from seed to harvest. Gardening is something I didn't discover until about 15 years ago and it brings me a lot of peace. Reading has been my main hobby since I was young, I love learning and experiencing new things through books. Concerts because I love music!

@micaroo4 I LOVE your pumpkins! Your recipe sounds delicious too! Thank you for being our motivator, you're already doing amazing.

@laurelfit57 Hahaha what the heck Ty! Jasper will come sit on my chest when I'm stretching, obviously they both think they're in charge! Is your back feeling better? Your class sounds fun, have a great time at the potluck! I DO take blood pressure medication, it's high from my pain levels but has been better since surgery. I'm trying a lower dose for now and seeing how I feel.

    @gemwolf110 Hugs to you.

@trooworld How fun I'm glad your best friend is there visiting. What a fun day together enjoy every minute of this weekend! I want to see you all in costume too please share! Yay I'm so happy to see your surgery is going to happen this year, a liquid diet and surgery will help with not eating Christmas cookies too! I'm so excited for you 2025 will be your year.

@morenin Medical stuff takes so long these days it's frightening. Chair yoga is a good call I think it helps to move a bit even when we don't feel well just don't push yourself too hard. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi team! Oh no I forgot to post this yesterday morning!

I'm starting to realize that slow and steady wins the race and that +1 lb. increase is not a big deal compared to -5 lb. overall. I was 213 the week before I did my starting weight! :kissing:

Yesterday was a super lazy day, all day. I crocheted and watched football. I almost finished my Mom's blanket. All that is left is to weave in the ends and make the tassels. I'm so happy to be finally finishing this blanket. I got so bored with it, that I took a two yr break. It is super pretty though and reversible. Can y'all see the difference in the two sides?

Today, started working in my spare room where the treadmill is so I can use it for exercise instead of storage 🫢🤭 I didn't quite finish, but hopefully tomorrow I will get'er done.

@Cornanda I missed this, are you getting a new cat?

@TeresaW2024 That ladies tea sounds absolutely lovely! How nice it was that the men were dressed up and waiting on you. It's lovely to start the week with determination, it will lead to a great week

@katmary71 Vannie will get up close and personal with me when I'm on the floor, but she has never sat on my face🤣. I was telling the breeder about this and she said, "yeah they have no boundaries":)
I really hope that you are feeling better tomorrow!

@trooworld did you take off today to recover L O L? I am so impressed that you stayed out until 1230 and are functioning the next day! Love love love the pictures!

Went to spin class this morning and really struggled. I thought it was a tough class, but quite often I think that and my daughter will say something about it wasn't too challenging. I do understand that she's 30 years younger than me. But this morning when we got out of class she commented on what a tough class it was.
I am starting to empty out my basement, I have an unfinished part that has just become a junk/storage area. I'm going to clear it all out and make it into a little agility space so that I won't have this stuff all over my living room. It is just such a huge task that I have been putting it off. I'm breaking it into chunks and I'm just committing to 30 minutes a day (which will most likely lead to more most days). First thing I did was get my infrared sauna all cleaned up and listed on marketplace. It sold really fast. I probably should've asked more but I feel really good about it because the guy is buying it for his arthritic mom

Cat update- Gus and the cat (Zeppelin) are friends, although Gus does come in a bit hot and Zep hangs back until he gets comfortable. Unfortunately, DH and I are allergic to cats, so Zep will not have the run of the house. This does mean that the cat/dog party won't go on 24/7. Also DD is so excited for this trip- it's a cruise. However, there is a little tropical system in the Gulf, so it looks like their route might be changed.

@Katmary71 - Mums- I got 2 different shades of purple for the back and white for the front. Why didn't I think about signing up for those emails?

Here is a delicious chicken recipe. I bought the huge boneless breasts and sliced them in half- they were not even thickness- the ends where the chicken was thinner was a bit dry, but the thick parts were actually juicy and tasty which is very hard to do with chicken breast. DH did them on the grill, and they did make quite a mess on the grates.

@baodell17724 - I like your article about weaning off sugar. I especially like the suggestion to make/bake your own dessert treats. Homemade is so much better, and you know exactly what is in them. Plus, as they point out in the article, it's a celebration of baking together and sharing the goodies with loved ones.

@Cornanda - I hope you are managing your allergies with Zep in the house!

@laurelfit57 - Oooo! I was thinking of an infrared sauna for myself someday! Why did you sell?

@DrewsAnna - I like your afghan. I usually choose patterns that are reversible. I crochet and knit, and I'm all too familiar with getting bored and setting a project aside for months or even years. Nice job finishing this one!

I am suffering with a cold, and boy do I mean suffering. I've done 3 covid tests and they were all negative, but I still think it's covid as I have lost my sense of smell entirely. I'm absolutely miserable without it. I had a cold for a week and was getting over it - I think this is a new and different cold that I caught from Rich. Originally I thought he caught my cold, but now I think it's something else on top of what I started with on the 15th. If I'm not better by Friday, I will probably go to the clinic.

Y'know, I miss baking which I loved to do, but I had so little self-control in NOT over-eating what I baked. Putting brownies, for instance, in individual sandwich bags, didn't keep me from later eating a whole bunch of them. While I have no problem with individually-wrapped commercial treats. I dunno, perhaps with MFP challenges and community now, I'd have self-control?

@baodell17724 - I usually take stuff to work, so that I'm not tempted. I only keep a serving or two in the house for me and Rich. I know you're not working anymore, but is there somewhere you can bring your treats, and bless someone else with your good cooking?

The only place I might bring them is to the community room in my building... but most of the folks who hang out there are terribly overweight 'vultures' themselves, and by doing so I'd feel like an enabler to their bad habits! (To be honest, one of the main reasons I think my weight-loss journey is sticking this time around, is that every couple of months someone passes away here, and it seems to me that weight is a major cause. This is an 80-unit apartment building for disabled seniors, and I just didn't expect that fast a turnover (like I might in a nursing home).

    Weigh-In Tuesday

    Maintenance Goal 135 - 140

Yay another week in range. I have been finding myself wanting to eat more snacks. I ignore them for the most part.

I'm slowly decluttering our spare room. My friend sent me 2 paint by number pictures to do, they look complicated. I'm older now and don't see smaller numbers as well as I used to. But I will do my best. I've never done a paint by number picture before; I hope it turns out good.

Still excited about getting a Trike, and my heart rate is averaging 56, which is close to 60. I noticed that when it's over 60 I feel really good.

@FushiaKat That's a great heart rate! Do you have readers? I'm near-sighted but still have some trouble with small print, they're pretty cheap too and may help with seeing numbers.

@baodell17724 I enjoyed reading the best and worst candies, not surprising candy corn is one of the worst! The Endangered Species chocolate is pretty good I received a bar as part of my birthday gift. LOL I've tried individual bags and freezing things but I've discovered frozen Rainbow cookies are even better than room temp ones! I hope you have better control now or else I'd suggest just bringing small amounts of treats home. I'm not the best with moderating and love baking as well. My weight's up right now so I'm not planning to do much Christmas baking this year.

    @Jactop You're doing amazing!

@micaroo4 Oh no that second cold is the pits! I think I caught my cold from the charity president she's the only person I know of who's been sick and I gave her a hug last weekend. I'm better today than yesterday just real tired. The loss of smell does sound like Covid but a lot of colds/flu are going around too. I like how you deal with MUST eating, so true we don't fall apart when we have to fast for a blood test or something.

@Cornanda I'm so glad Gus and Zep are getting along, you have to catch a pic of the two of them hanging out! The mums sound beautiful! I saved that recipe it sounds delicious, I just threw chicken breasts in the Instant Pot wish I'd seen it first!

@laurelfit57 I'm glad Vannie has never sat on your face! Jasper likes to sit on the back of my chair when I'm on my desktop computer, he's sat on my shoulder instead of the chair before, haha. I'm glad your daughter also found the class hard that would be frustrating to be exhausted and she says it was nothing. Good luck with the basement, breaking it up should help with feeling overwhelmed. Boy I wish you lived by me I'd have grabbed that sauna!

@DrewsAnna I love the blanket, so pretty! Nice soon you'll be able to break in that treadmill!

@TeresaW2024 I love your Monday energy and enthusiasm!

@morenin Hugs to you, I think the meditation and yoga are great ideas, hope you're over this soon.

@txcritter69 Hugs to you we're here if you'd like to talk.

@trooworld Love your costume, everyone looks awesome at the party! I've never seen Kindle charms now I have a new want! Love your self control with not buying more books, I struggle to not get more.

Hi team! Ended up working on a huge order for work, I got it finished this morning thank goodness. I had the pain clinic this morning which went well aside of being weighed where I'm up a few pounds. I had Skinnytaste's butternut squash feta soup last night and am hoping it's from the feta but my pants are tight too. Hate when that happens when you think you're doing good! I've been resting since I got home, my voice is a lot better but I'm still worn out. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
