Just a small loss but I’ll take it. I think I need to get in a little more cardio this week. Going to get on FitOn and YouTube and find walking/step videos.

Chris I’m following a young lady on Facebook who’s doing 31 days of veggie meals only for the month of January. I discovered her a couple of years ago and decided to do it myself to start the year. More of a detox than a diet. Good for the gut I’m told.

Thanks, Shelley! I did it again today...my trainer had car issues and had to cancel today. We did have Collin and he and I went on a pretty long walk. I think it was too long for him...
    2.79 miles in 75 mins w/Collin
4.88 miles in 95 mins to the Ruins and back.
It was pretty gorgeous out there. I could have sat in my computer chair instead of walking, convincing myself that the morning was hard...and it was...but I did it!
I am thinking I could go around the high school after I get home from my trainer's. Or go over and do all the courts butted up to the grape fields. I used to do those when we first moved here. We'll see.
    Going to read now.

Kathy a loss is a loss! I love those step videos. Find one with great music. Or mute them and play your own.

Chris he probably just needs to get out and stretch some. I hope to walk more come spring.

I am very bummed. Went to dinner with daughter and friends. I was miserable. I tried not to show it. All they talked about was how wonderful her new home and job would be. I just wanted to cry.

I made a cabbage soup and honey garlic zucchini noodles. I’ll have lunch and dinner for this cold weekend and our wintry mix.

I did 45 on recumbent and an arms strength training followed by a 10 min ab workout.

Shelly I’m so sorry that you’re feeling so down but I understand. Keep your chin up.

Paula - Love your cookie story. Our brains are so persuasive aren't they? Good job ignoring her.

Sounds like we're all doing a reasonable job refocusing for the year.

I have been out of pocket for a few days with the norovirus. Needless to say the scale has gone in the right direction, but not really because of anything I have done. I had been quite focused The first few days of the year. But a loss is a loss right lol. My stomach is still not 100%. Working from home this week so I have a comfort of my house and soup and tea. I'm just hoping that no one in my house gets it.

The last time I wrote I was off to jury duty. I was there all day and at the point where they were selecting the jury... I was number 27 :-) had I not thrown up during the selection process (and no I did not throw up in the courtroom thank God!) I might have been selected. But they sent me home because I was pretty sick, and they were afraid I was going to infect the jury pool. That counted for my service so I'm good for 3 years :-)

Taking a really easy with the eating. Of course the only thing that works is carbohydrates. So some chicken noodle soup and crackers, had a little pasta with butter last night that worked. Some jello. Had some eggs but that didn't settle so well. Also haven't been able to exercise cuz I feel terrible. But trying to do a lot of hydrating :-)

    Hoping everybody stays well!

Shelley, I would feel the same sadness if Sara and the boys were going to move away. My trainer is struggling because her kids and Granddaughter are all in Tennessee. She's going to move out there in about a year and a half...maybe...that makes me sad, too.
Kathy, good job on the bike and exercises. I wish I could eat cabbage soup...cabbage DOES NOT agree with my tummy!! Nopey, nope! Big time...nope!! :'(
Paula, I don't remember how close you are to LA. Are you okay?
Karen, that sounds awful! I hope you feel better soon. Glad you didn't get jury duty.
We had Collin this morning...exhausted, I am...he didn't want to go on a walk. He wanted to watch Paw Patrol w/Grandpa. I sucked down some coffee, ground a bunch of coffee beans and now waiting for Pat to get back after picking up Ronan from school. Am I gonna go? It's pretty beautiful out there... :#
    Later, my friends,

I found indoor walking exercises on FitOn and did 30 minutes. Also 30 on the recumbent. Nice way to walk without dealing with the freezing weather here in Atlanta. As they say I’m going to “hunker down” for the weekend. 🤣

So glad I bought only healthy snacks at the grocery store or it would be Netflix, chips, ice cream and cookies. Instead I have fruit, nuts and popcorn.

Good job, everybody. You make walks sound so simple, but I know how important it is you just get yourself up and going. I've been doing laps in my house, the hills outside are still too much for my knees. Baby steps for now.

Shelley, So funny what you said about "talking yourself out of being old" but so True, too!

I'm in the Santa Cruz Mountains, so we're almost neighbors. We have the winds too, but the weatherman said the rains we've had so far have really helped things from drying out too much. I can't watch the news about the LA fires; makes me physically sick to see what those people are going though.

Kathy, I have a bunch of walking DVDs that I used years back. I'm so glad you like you what you have.
Paula, I didn't remember Santa Cruz Mtns. Be so careful with your knees. Nice job on your loss.
I met w/my trainer today for a 60 min workout. It was hard, but I did it.
Collin and I walked 1.79 miles in 51 mins this morning...my walking for the day. I'll be walking tomorrow to the Ruins and back. Supposed to be windy. I hope it's not too bad.
Going to find my pillow now.

Kathy thank you. You did so well with the hunkering down. I admit I would have made some hot chocolate. Milk, cocoa, sugar a splash of vanilla and a few grains of salt. Cooked over low heat. Yummy. Bad Shelley. Don't try my recipe. Your exercise was spot on. Keep moving. And stick with your cabbage soup.

Paula I have been thinking of you and Chris a lot. So glad you are not in danger. Hopefully it stays that way. I see you have a new photo. Very nice. Baby steps for sure.

Chris thanks. Hopefully you got your walk in. My mom and daughter both can't eat cabbage either. I love how you say you're going to walk to the ruins. Sounds so mysterious.

Karen you get better. I hate being sick. What a way to not get picked for jury duty. I think you would have enjoyed it.

Upper body strength training last night. I do enjoy it. Two people that haven't seen me since November thought I lost weight. Just toned up some. Zumba tonight. It was great.

    Night my friends

No exercise yesterday. Stayed in, did some house work and cooked a couple of new veggie meals. Roasted brussel sprouts and butternut squash with a light glaze and spaghetti squash with a garlic, tomato, spinach sauce. I’m loving this fresh healthy eating. Her recipes are so simple and have so much flavor. This will definitely continue past the 31 days of January. The young lady established a Facebook page and others are adding their veggie recipe ideas. Never thought I would enjoy this so much.

Paula when I don’t feel like going out I do Laos in the house. Started with mom to keep her moving. I’ve just continued it.

Shelley. Wish I liked Zumba. My bff loves it.

    Shelley,

That's an old photo of me with my brother when I weighed over 300 pounds.

Someone on MFP is catfishing me, pretending to be single men, and sending me friend requests from a new person every week. It's always an account that's only a few weeks old. I always delete them immediately; and I've changed my security so that nobody can see my profile, but so far it doesn't help.

I'm thinking of shutting my account and opening another one. But first, I'm just trying to look more unattractive.

Paula, that is creepy. Shut your acct down if it keeps happening.
Shelley, Yesterday, Collin and I did 1.79 miles in 51 mins...he fell asleep the final 15 mins. I did a 60 min workout w/my trainer.
Today is TOO WINDY!!! 22 mph!! It pushed me around when I went out to check the weather! I'm hoping it calms down later this afternoon. We'll see. Plus it's cold wind!!
We have Bean this afternoon. SIL had a rugby game at St. Mary's and Sara is helping out a friend there. I didn't get all the details when they dropped Bean off because they were running late.
Okay, time to check the breeze outside.

I did 30 minutes on the recumbent and an upper body strength workout. Then watched tennis for the rest of the day. The Australian Open started today. Can’t believe my friends and I were in Melbourne 5 years ago. One of my favorite trips, tennis and touring a beautiful country.

Paula I agree with Chris, maybe you should delete your account. Sounds like a real creep is stalking you.

I just did 5.40 miles in 106 mins to the post office and back. It was pretty windy in parts but it wasn't real cold. I ended up taking my jacket off at about one mile. Not too many folks out.
Okay...gotta make soup, read my book and drink coffee.

Paula and Chris.....thinking about you both and the people in the fire zone ..... unbelievable and heartbreaking 😭

Went to yoga this morning....first time I've exercised in over a week ...felt good.....did some food prep today for the week, which I hope to make a weekly activity.

Back to the office tomorrow after 3 weeks ....will be good to see humans.

During my annual labs turns out my iron and ferratin are very low. I'm waiting to hear if Cigna approved me for iron infusions. I hope they do. It will make me feel a lot better.

Resting here this afternoon to try to get this cold (and now ear infection) to move on!

    Happy Sunday!

Kathy I love spaghetti squash spaghetti. We recently froze it in a seal a matic type sealer. Only for 2 days but just wanted to see if it stayed slightly crispy. And it did! Yes! So thinking of growing some. Then cooking it up and freezing for later meals. What is her name. I want to check out her site. I remember the photos of you and your friends on vacation. All in white dresses I believe. Wonderful. And how can you not love zumba? Must be the instructor. Mine is a blast.

Paula of course you will let us know if you delete your account. Have you reported it? Is the smoke horrible? I worry about you and Chris all the time. And everybody else also there. And the wildlife. So sad.

Chris I don't like the wind to much either. But it gives me an excuse to have messy hair! Stay safe.

Karen I hope you feel better soon. I have hardly any faith in insurance companies lately.

I sprained my ankle. So am wearing an ankle brace for now.

Shelley!! that's terrible! How did you sprain your ankle? ugh!
Collin and I went out in the wind this morning. I didn't like it. He didn't care!! I didn't turn on my walking app but we did what we normally do ...so about 1.79 miles in 61 mins then I did a 60 min workout w/my trainer then I started putting the house in order for our housekeeper coming tomorrow.
I finished my book and started another and drank coffee!

Chris as usual I was running down a staircase! I just don't learn. Kids are funny. You just never know what will bother them. Or what won't. I need a housekeeper. That way I would clean my house better.

Worked out a little tonight. I was babying my ankle some. I am tired tonight. Really need to rest some.

Completed two FitOn walking videos and an arms/ core workout. Had to have an electrician come out today to find the power source and disconnect the alarm system that kept coming on after I loss power during the winter storm…annoying to say the least.

Karen happy you’re feeling better. Hope you get approval for the iron infusions.

Chris I so admire how you get your walks in. It’s so cold in Atlanta right now I don’t want to go outside.

Shelley the young lady’s name is Jayria Nicole and the group name is 31 Days of Veggies.

I have a cousin who lives in California. Praying for her and her family. She preparing for a possible evacuation order. She’s so stressed and keeps us updated in Facebook. Praying for California this is so horrible.

SHELLEY!!!! And, I love our housekeeper. We've had her since we moved into this house 12 years ago! She started before we had all our furniture in. She's the best!
Kathy, Thank you! I admire you working out to your videos and biking. I need to do that on non-walking days but I have too many excuses. :#
Had Collin Duty this morning and he and I went on a walk for 1.60 miles in 47 mins. The gardeners were at the dog park and too loud for Collin, so we cut it short a bit.
I'm going to read and finish my coffee now.

Just learned that I got approved for the iron infusions. I start on Friday. Hoping they make me feel better and give me more energy!

Work late and then had an appointment tonight. I did an arm weight workout yesterday. Hoping to do two more this week. Trying to get back in the swing of weight :-)

30 minutes on recumbent, a FitOn walking workout and a arms strength.

Went to grocery store for more veggies. Made a veggie “pizza” using a carb balance tortilla with onions, orange and green bell peppers, mushrooms and a little cheese, topped with thinly sliced Jalepenos. Needed something different. It was very good.

Karen congrats on the approval. I’m sure the shots will make you feel so much better.

Paula, keep at it...you are doing great this month, too!
We had Collin this morning. He and I did 1.75 in 51 mins to the farm and around to the dog park that had no dogs then home. Then I went to my trainer for a 60 min workout.
