Well done, Gary.
It's so nice the way we support each other...if some of us are not partaking, we can always count on others to make up for it. :laugh:0 -

And how. :glasses:0 -
Monday - 2.5
Tueday - 0
Wednesday - 3
Thursday - 1 vodka with pom
TOTAL 6.5
12.5 REMAINING
I almost feel like a 1 is a greater success than a 0. It shows that I can actually stop after 1!
My f*cking heat went out last night. It's 2 degrees in Louisville. I've got cupcakes to bake tonight for my daughter's party tomorrow! I need this *kitten* fixed ASAP!!!!! I. HATE. THE. POLAR. VORTEX. How do those of you way up north deal with this all winter? I'm miserable! I mean, it gets cold in KY; we get snow. But it's only getting above freezeing ONE day this week. I hate it. This probably calls for drinks....0 -
Ashley I am so with you...I am totally over this *kitten*!! The high is 18 today lord knows what it is with the wind chill. Tomorrow will be 35 BUT they are calling for more snow....:grumble:
Last night I had a peach vodka and sprite and a glass of wine.
Gonna take it easy tonight and just have some wine and relax and cuddle on the couch. Tomorrow we are celebrating my FIL bday and staying over so...beer, wine, booze who knows :bigsmile:0 -
Girls, my kids have now had 3 days off for the cold and they think there will be another on Monday. This is unprecedented for school days. They can go years without a snow day. Like you guys, today will be 35 and more snow on the way.
Ashley, 1 is a victory in my book.
0 for last night - 8 days to go and 1 night of sober bowling. I will set new passes for February.0 -
Better...I read that as 1 Vodka with porn.
Heh
I need to contribute to the weather discussion...don't hate me but I'm worried about ours. We have not had a single drop of rain this year. Not one. We don't normally get much but it's January...we always get something! There is none in the forecast..if that holds it will be the 1st time in history of recording weather that we went the whole month with no rain.
the state is in a drought emergency.
Oh and we'll be in the 80's next week. :glasses: Sounds fun...but our fire danger is just crazy. We lost 300 homes in our neighborhood 7 years ago. Scary *kitten*.
I had wine last night.
Sat-Wed 0
Thursday-2
I'll probably finish the bottle tonight.
Happy weekend lushes :drinker:0 -

Sydney, we lived in Sacramento when there were fires, back when Lake Tahoe was dry and Lake Folsom you could drive thru - and, while the fires were far away, you could still smell it in the air. It's a huge danger for Cali. Lots of homes were gone then as well.0

Vodka and porn....HA!
My day has been crap. I went home to meet the heater guy. $400 to get the heat up and running. Not to fix all the issues. We really need a new furnace. I let the guy go so we could check around, and have to go back to the house in about an hour to meet him. Again. After he left, I switched the faucet (that had been running on hot/cold - one faucet, tricky to do - since last night. It was all hot. Cold water pipe frozen. So I spent the next 2 hours with my arm in the insulated wall with a blowdryer. It thawed. If there was wine on the counter, I would have drank a glass. Or two. I chewed nicotine gum instead. Now I am back at work for about two hours total and then back home to get my f*cking heat fixed. I'm getting a bottle of wine on the way home. Or two.0 -
nicotine gum?! well, whatever works for ya-vodka, porn and cigarettes:smokin:
My friends bailed on our plans to watch Weeds, I had 10 oz of Pinot Grigio.
Tonight my husband is making steak, I might want to open a bottle of red, and he has shows Saturday and Sunday night, so might trade my drinking night, tonight instead of tomorrow...
And, I went an planned an alcohol-free three days Sunday-Tues but forgot about the boozy baby shower on Sunday. Maybe I should change it to Mon-Wed, no harm no foul;)0 -
I love this thread....
Ashley, I vote for 2 bottes
I think I just perfected my French onion soup: caramelized onions, beef broth, white wine, cognac, sage, thyme, bay leaf
I am off to work and am thinking about mini-bottle of red that I have. And, also, dreading sober bowling. I am kind of unsure of what to do with myself while I am waiting to bowl. The norm is naturally to drink.
Amy, Monday thru Wednesday sound safe and easy to remember.0 -
Mmmmmm french onion soup. But ya gotta have the melty cheese on it, right? I miss cheese :ohwell:
I am taking a pass on a Park City trip to stay home...get some alone time...deal with my dad's house/estate. I'm still not feeling super strong...hate the cold and am not that great of skier.....so the husband is going without me He'll have his best buddy there and have a blast.
If my g/f or my gays get wind of me being alone til next week I could be in trouble though. This could be a very lushy week.0 -
Sorry I haven't been around much. On the weather front things are really nice up here. I love it. It is absolutely gorgeous today and not too warm and not too cold. and everything is still really moist from the fog we get in the morning.
I love to make French onion soup. It is one of my husbands favorites.
I have been maintaining my usual lushiness. too much wine or too much vodka but at least I am maintaining. I hope you all have a great weekend.0 -
Well, we had about two bottles of red wine last night. I finished the second bottle tonight and there was only 5 oz left. It worked with my cals with a run.
if anyone wants to see jokes, I did get a link for my husband's comedy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-1usMGqqQc&sns=em
I'm watching the new season of Girls, good stuff...0 -
Thanks for the link asj! Your husbands routine is good! My kind of humor. Good luck to you him!0

We have quite the group of like-minded lushes at the high school where I teach and we enjoy hitting the local Mexican for whiskey and coke after we get off on Fridays. I really need to work harder to earn those extra calories instead of just blowing them off as stress relief.
My other goal is to make my way back over to Berlin for July, which requires a lot of planning and budgeting and saying NO to little wants along the way. (Some days I think a drug habit might be cheaper than airfare!)
Fitness-wise, well, I'm not proud of my half marathon time at all. I have completed two. Now to set a time goal for the distance. Sub- 2:00 maybe? that is just averaging 9 min miles for the distance.
Oh, and DRINK MORE BEER!!0 -
Hey algebra - welcome to the group. We have a great bunch here who support each other in our fitness goals and balancing that with our food and alcohol calories. A good bunch of non judgemental people here supporting each other. Feel free to chime in!0

Hi Algebra, welcome to the group.
Amy, I will check out the link after work.
I was not able to sober bowl last night after the first game....Damn, that beer tasted good. I, will, however, refrain for the rest of the month and finish it up. However, I feel like poo today at work.
So, I ended with five passes total...
1 incredibly lushy night
3 moderate nights
1 - 1 drink night
All in all - I averaged 1 night a week vs. 1 night every 2 weeks.0 -

Thanks!!
What's this about nicotine gum? I'm getting curiouser and curiouser...0 -
Kim- you did great! I think I only had TWO zeros for the month. So you definitely kicked my *kitten*.0
-
Seriously Kim...you rocked it.
Out for dinner to the Melting Pot last night. 2 bottles of wine, a JD Honey and ginger ale, a vodka soda at some dive before hand...sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I stayed away from the red bull and that really helped keep the hangover at bay.
Kel and I will be visiting an "adult" :smokin: establishment this week, so I'm thinking that will cut down on the booze...I just need to NOT snack.0 -
Hi Algebra! I teach too...and most of the teachers I work with are total lushes...it must be the job!!0
-
I lushed it up as usual this weekend.
Friday-we went to happy hour had a flight and split a beer, then came home and drank another 4 beers. I felt crappy crappy crappy saturday morning, ditched the gym then headed up to the in laws. I had almost a bottle of vodka and about 3/4 bottle of wine. Yesterday, we had 1 1/2 beers. Gonna go with a big fat zero tonight, my liver and puffy body need the break!!!!0 -
Monday - 2.5
Tueday - 0
Wednesday - 3
Thursday - 1
Friday - 4 glasses of wine
Saturday - had a glass of wine around 3:00 while watching KY play basketball. Had a Miller Lite (not typical), some more wine, and then a friend came over to bring my daugher her birthday gift. Three of us drank 3 bottles, so I reckon an 8
Sunday - rescheduled the birthday party to this day. I had some mimosas and a dark and stormy. I guess 4.
TOTAL = 22.5
I was aiming for 19, but this isn't terrible. Probably didn't need so many glasses of wine Saturday night. This weekend i host book club Saturday, and that's about it. I'll rack up some 0's this week.
Algebra, I chew nicotine gum because I am a mostly reformed drinking smoker. I crave cigs when I get drunk so I chew the gum. Or when I get stressed. I get a generic form of Nicorette (sp?). I did smoke 3 cigarettes Saturday with my only smoking friend I have that lives in town. Oops.....0 -
over did it Sat night so I got a 0 in yesterday.
have a great week lushes!0 -

thank you! I think is cute and funny, which is why I endeavored to meet him after a show 10 years ago:blushing: but it's a tough business.
For the teachers, there were some comedians in Denver who did a pilot for a show (on amazon?) it was called "Those who can't do" and they played teachers with various vices, it was very funny.
I had a pretty good weekend. doing this winter detox and decided to start yesterday and said no to cake and beer at the baby shower. Not that scale appreciated it:grumble:
Two more days on my cleanse. It has enough food, really-just not dairy, gluten, shellfish, anything processed (including all soy products), nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant), condiments, sugar, alcohol, caffeine and soda.
I guess technically my perrier is soda? oh well.0 -

Here's another one for reading quickly-I thought it said you had a fight and split a beer:noway: :explode: :drinker:0 -
Fri - 4 drinks
Sat - 4 drinks
Sun - 6 drinks0 -
Thanks for the congrats peeps....I guess it was better than it used to be and that's what counts.
5 days to go!!
The kids are home from school today and possibly tomorrow. They are going to be in school until July if this keeps up. Tomorrow, will be the 5th or 6th cold day.
My son had blood in his urine this morning and I had to take him in. I was suspecting a kidney stone because he has not had a fever or feeling ill for a UTI. So, tomorrow, we have to go for an ultrasound. He is not going to like passing a stone if that's the case!! It'd be one thing if he could just guzzle beers until it passes; but, he's only 12.0 -
sorry about your son. Kidney stones suck at least that is what Doug says.
I have been lushing it up as usual. I think I had one zero for the month. so I guess I can do better next month.
Welcome algebra.0
