Ohhhh, poor baby, Kim!! I hope he's okay.

I was going to go for a 0 tonight but a drive from school, to get Delaney, to get our neighbor kid at the elementary school by our house took almost 2 hours--it's normal an hour. Yeah, I just polished off a Capt. and 7. I think that will be it though--I want to get on the treadmill for a bit after the girl-child goes to bed.

Oh, and Amy, I watched a bit of the link of your husband...he's FUNNY!! Seriously, I'd love to see him perform sometime! (And I totally could...being in Colorado and all!)

Thanks for the well wishes...we will see tomorrow what the report is.

Hi, Mama Lush - glad to see you peek you're head in

Is Kat having her baby? Haven't seen any posts from her.

So, Ron and I went to dinner tonight and I am happy to report another zero. It's almost getting easier not to drink randomly, just because. I have no idea how long this will last. But, hangovers and running do not seem to go well together. :noway: 3.20 miles today in 50 minutes. I am going for endurance at this point and apparently no speed. LOL

    It's friggin' cold :grumble:

    Monday - 0

I am kind of a pro at running hungover. In hot weather, it is unbearable. But I did the 5 miler on Thanksgiving TOTALLY hungover (borderline still drunk maybe) and I just sorta zoned out and time passed quickly. My fastest offical 5k ever was run hungover. I do prefer running sober/non hungover though. Nice job on the 3.2!

Maybe another 0 tonight. I've got yoga and have to work tomorrow (usually off Wednesday which makes me want to have cocktails), so all stars are aligned to not drink.

you totally could:) I will let you know when he has some shows. He finds out Wednesday about Comedy works for the weekend and then has other stuff around Colorado and Wyo in Feb.

Last night of the cleanse tonight. The scale did move 2 lbs overnight so I think that is water weight from cutting carbs and booze but I'll take it.

I can probably manage 0s til Thursday!

Trust me Kate, there is no lingering. Once I am done eating, the jacket goes on. I've become a cheap date. It's amazing how quickly the liquor jacks the bill.

Still cold here and the kids are off of school again.

Nicholas reported no blood in his urine this morning so I am assuming a UTI at this point which is GOOD!! Antibiotics was our friend. I was all ready to donate a kidney tho.

I've been seeing her logging time on the bike, so maybe she's just been busy? I think she's 6-7 months, so March sounds right.

Since our kid gets bored and we spend half the time entertaining her at restaurants, we rarely go out anymore. We get takeout and a bottle of wine from the store and we seem to have so much more money now. It was nothing to drop over $200 a week in dining (and drinking) out. And we even know all the places with half price bottles of wine!

I thought I had misread what you said about your "gays" getting a hold of you last night.

    But I didn't.

And I don't understand what you meant.

Oooop, sorry everyone!! Didn't mean to worry anyone, I'm around and baby girl isn't due until April 5th. She and I are both doing well and go for another check up this Friday. I've just been up to my usual which is not much of anything, work outs, trying to relax and get things ready for baby. I did convince people to have just a regular party instead of a baby shower and it'll be at our house so I can relax.

We have had quite a busy household with all the fur babies though. We found out that our old boy Angel has kidney disease. We now have to decide if we're going to give him fluids at home or not, we decided against a 3 day stay at the vet for fluids because it would just stress him out which I guess would cause the fluids to not even work. Our poor girl Mittens has severe anemia and unlike humans it has nothing to do with iron. She has an auto immune disease that's causing her immune system to attack her blood. They put her on a really strong compound medication so she's really tired and weak all the time now  but hopefully once she's weaned off of the meds she'll not only get her energy back but it'll help stop her immune system from attacking her blood. Our boy Jinx tested positive for lime disease so he's on a 21 day cycle of meds. His big sister Eve had a yeast infection in her ears which is now cleared up. They both tested positive for one of the heart worm tests but I guess those tests are sensitive and will test positive if they've simply been exposed to it and since they haven't shown any symptoms the vet wasn't concerned about it.

So we've had quite the couple weeks with medications and such. Somehow on top of 6 fur babes we decided to have a human babe haha. I'm going to have quite the full time job with all of these beasts.

I hope everyone has been well!!! :flowerforyou: and that you've all been having a drink for me :drinker: 2 months and a week until part this lush is back

My the lushes have been busy!

Amy - i watched the link, your husband is hilarious. It takes a lot of guts to get up there. My nephew is starting out in standup and it is harder than it looks.

Kim - My son had a kidney stone when he was in middle school, can't remember the age except I know it was middle school. The kid used to scarf down milk and cheese and lots of calcium, After passing that stone he cut down on that stuff a lot! Congrats on all your 0's!

Syd - Sounds like you had fun with your gays.

Kat - You poor thing having to go through all that stuff with your furbabies. They are so innocent. I think the only good news is they don't know what they have and just live in the moment and don't worry about the future. That's our job. Hope they respond positively to the meds.

    Welcome newbies! Cheers other lushes!

Me... I am just lushing along. 2 fireball whiskeys so far tonight. It has been snowing here since 1:00 and Atlanta is basically shut down. Not much else to do. Ron is at the restaurant and is probably going to stay the night. The roads are super slippery. We are just not equipped to handle this kind of weather.

    Hi Lushes!
I consider last night a win. I only had one 5 ounce glass of red wine. only one!!!!! I am so proud of me. Now if I can just get my butt up and moving I would be great.

Last night Len and I split a bottle of wine. I slept like a friggin baby...maybe too well that I missed my workout. Oh well, yoga on deck for after work, instead. I might have a zero tonight or only one glass of wine??!!!

MamaLush, get your butt up and moving. Just start today. :flowerforyou:

Amy, finally got to your clip with hubs. He is really funny, I liked the bit about having kids and the home schooling as well.

Hi, Diana - I imagine there aren't many snow plows in Atlanta.

So, last night, I go into the bathroom and find a used looking condom on the counter. First, the boy says it's not his and I know he's lying. I tell him I'm not falling for that crap and to throw it away. He throws it away and I tell that I know it's his for sure because otherwise he would have never touched it if it were older bro's. Apparently, he was practicing for just in case. OMG!!!

    Still a zero after that...:ohwell:

Well Kat if nothing else all the craziness with the your fur babies will get you prepared for all the worrying you will do with your baby girl! 2 months is nothing your almost there!

I got pretty buzzed on Saturday night, that was the first time I felt a little hungover since I had the baby. I had a vodka soda, a half bottle of wine and an amstel lite. Went to bed at 11 and woke up at 2 will a headache so I drank some water and ibuprofen and felt great in the morning. Its amazing when you go so long without a hangover how you really never want to have one again!

Other than that I have been pretty consistent with my 10 oz of wine. I went back to boxed wine now that I have become a nightly drinker again to save some money. I am liking the Black Box cab and Wine Cubes from Target. I have also been adding in Amstel lights on some days. God I love drinking again! And I am fortunate enough with breastfeeding to have a baby that sleeps 10-12 hours a night that I can drink after he goes to bed and be good to nurse him again in the morning.

Is this worth watching because I see a lot of miles on the treadmill. I am currently watching all of breaking bad. I've seen bits and pieces of it along the way but since I am treadmilling I thought I'd start from the beginnning.
AND, I DON'T KNOW THE ENDING, SO DON'T TELL ME.

Nothing will top Breaking Bad...but Orange was ok. I had heard good things about it and wasn't as impressed as so many others were. Its produced by the same people who did Weeds..so if you like that show you might enjoy Orange. Similar look/feel to the show. The main problem with Orange is the lead character is annoying as all hell. But the supporting characters make the show...and I did start to get invested in finding out their back stories.

I enjoyed House of Cards more than Orange

SoCal- totally with you on Orange is the New Black I don't like it as much as other people do. Breaking Bad will probably be the best show ever made for a long time, it will be hard to top. I did like Weeds....would say LOVE, but like.

So much! First, Kat, glad you're ok, so sorry about the fuzzy ones. That is rough and not easy to deal with at anytime!
I liked House of Cards, too. I haven't seen Orange is the new Black but I think I will. My friends really liked it and read the book, I guess it is based on a true story.
I liked Weeds, but I couldn't watch Dexter because I thought his sister and g/f were annoying, so maybe I will feel that way about Orange.
I am done with my cleanse and ready for a marg tonight:)

Having 6 animals certainly prepares you a little for a human one. They're up at strange times of night, they poop and pee everywhere, you worry about them horribly when they're sick and sometimes they even "cry". I also am right there with you on the hangover bit. I'm finally at the point where I can't wait to be able to have a few glasses of wine but I do not at all miss hangovers, I mean honestly who would but I guess my point is I'm going to try very hard to be good with the booze and avoid hangovers. Husband had a hangover recently and he said he knew he was getting old because the hangover lasted all day and he just felt miserable, he has since been more aware of how much beer he has in addition to having plenty of water. On the nursing front I hope my little girl sleeps 10-12 hours a night but if she doesn't it's really not a big deal since I hardly sleep anyway and at least if she's up then I have some company.

As for my poor fur babies, it's just my baby girl Mittens that I'm really worried about. Since being on the Prednisolone she is VERY lethargic and weak on top of now not wanting to eat. We've done some research and are going to try baby food, yes you read that correctly. I also gave her some pepcid because apparently the medication can cause bad acid reflux and who feels like eating when they have that? I did get her to drink some warm milk and last night when we warmed up her wet food she ate a little so there are a few things we can try. If those don't work then we most likely have to go to Ocean State Vet and she'll have to have a blood transfusion :frown: She is a one in a million cat, I've never come across another kitty like her and I NEED her to be okay, she is the one that keeps me calm and sane so I'm just trying to stay positive but I hate seeing her so down

You're so sweet. They are my family and I would do absolutely anything for them. The good thing if she does have to go to Ocean State is that we've been there before. That is where our girl Chloe had her emergency back surgery/recovery and they were great. They didn't sugar coat anything and they took such good care of our baby  Hopefully it won't come to that though.

Oy, Kat, you have your hands full with the fur babes.

    Let's see...
    Monday: 1 (or 2) Capt./7's
Tuesday: 2 shots of JD honey and a Breckenridge Brewery Ophelia Wheat. The LQ stock is like a clothing store...they have all their spring beers out in the middle of January! This was goooood--so I won't complain too much.

Shooting for a 0 tonight, but we'll see.
