2700 yds in 63 minutes. Need to squeeze in some more sprint intervals.
5300 yds (3 miles) for the week and I'm still not to fishgutzy's daily!

VICTORY! The stars--and plumbers--finally aligned and I was able to get in the water for the first time in 9 days. 1.5 miles/ 72 minutes. The water was a balmy 81 degrees F, and the shower water was equally balmy! Now, if we can just keep the doors open in face of the predicted snowstorm demons!

    Twice so far this week

1k on Monday, including some sprints, prior to my trip to the dentist.

Weds no swim (not feeling great post being beaten up by my dentist. - an extraction....mmm) tho I did go for a long walk along my local river and discover a new 'destination' cafe.

Back in today. No idea on lengths done but 30 gentle mins in the pool. Absolutely no sprints. In fact it took me 15 minutes before I couid work up the energy to do some decent freestyle... At my third visit to my (genuinely lovely!) dentist this week, turns out I've now got a dental infection ....

    Next week will be better.

Did I tell you all I got the waterproof iPod thingy for Xmas??!! Not used it yet (as waiting for hubby's phone to get fixed first before I asked him to help me play with my new toy) - but looking forward to giving it a go v much.

Some great swimming going on. And I mean all the shorter swim peeps as well as you distance dogs!

Brought the fins out after weeks of being scared of them. Two sets of drills, and had the start of cramps but was able to relax my legs and keep going. Only very short (200 and 100 yard) drills but it's progress. Also some 100 and 50 sprints in the middle of everything.
2600 yds, 58 minutes swim time but the fin drills have me going much faster than normal. Moderate/heavy rain, only three other swimmers tonight.

Yes, my coach said since I was registered on an Italian team in October, apparently I am eligible since it is over 6 months. So maybe they relaxed the rules a bit since you tried? Registration starts soon, so I guess if they accept me I will go! I will probably do 100 back, 100 free and 50 free. It's a 50m pool, which I haven't swum in for quite a few years so I will try and find one around here so I can get used to it and get some practice times.

I agree with gently, if you can't move it, get it checked out. What rotten luck lately between your shoulder and now your finger!

At the doctors now waiting for an Xray as it's quite swollen this morning. Not great timing 8 days before the New Zealand Masters Games!

@emmab0902 Hoping For the Best for your Hand and your Master Games.

Noon Hour swim. We got about 8 in ( 20 cm ) of snow last night so I thought the Pool would be empty because of the terrible roads. Walked over to the pool ( 4 Blocks ) Wrong 4-5 per lane slow pokes in the fast - etc - etc.
60 mins and it was all I could do to get my 1000m in. Grumble - grumble.
Because of the snow we didn't go for our normal Saturday Morning run due to safety concerns.

Oh Emma - that is not good. Hope it doesn't take overly long to heal.

I haven't posted on here for a few days, but have been swimming. Have been doing quite a lot of sprints which I am enjoying.

sorry to hear that @emmab0902 -- hopefully it won't keep you from your meet.

I had a leisurely day in the pool with rare blue skies. 3200 yards and a pace that was sluggish. Don't care, because blue skies.

Swam on Mon, Tue, Thurs and Friday last week. 2.5km swims all in the 54-56 min range.

Was happy that with Friday swim I was able to tumble turn through almost the entire swim, but my time was slower (about 57 min) which was ok, as it will take some getting used to aerobically.
I was gasping through the whole 57 min - funny how you miss that breath pause at the end of every length that is non existent when doing tumble turns!
So although I was spending less time at the end of every length, my swimming speed overall was slower due to the fatigue that came from no pause for breath at the end of every length!

So will try and keep the tumble turns going from now on!
I'm hoping to get my weekly distance to around 15km, so my shoulders get used to it before attempting the 15km swim!

My weight has been creeping up too, as I've been hitting the Coca-Colas pretty hard this year, so I'm going to go back to strictly water to keep a lid on things!

Great to see all the great swims, distances, consistency people.
Panda I so dream of swimming 2.5km in 50 min.
Gutzy, I see your back to 100%!!!
Nuffer, no cramps means what you're doing is working.
EmmaB so sad to hear about the finger - that timing just sucks!
Alicia, gently, curly, Juliet and Noel - good stuff!
