1:30am - just got home from a very long work day and still a little buzzed so can't fall a sleep.
@Orphia Well done on the breathing - I can so relate - it took me 2 years to get balanced breathing, I still drop into single sided once in a while if in a tough session.
@emmab0902 is a close neighbor to @ContraryMaryMary and @Avidkeo - well relatively close when compared to how far apart most of our MFP friends are.

For me @emmab0902 is an great role model and inspiration, with her good character and modesty about her strength/skills in the pool. A water version of you, alphahowls, @JessicaMcb etc.

    I managed 1,600 metres today!

First 1,050 metres were alternating 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle.

Breaststroke was giving me a sore left knee, so the last 550m were all freestyle, still managing alternate breathing every 3.

    750m PB!
    1,500m PB!
    Longest Swim!
    (According to my Fenix 5)

3000m solo swim this evening. Feeling a bit under the weather like the beginning of virus. Might be Christmas day in bed!

No swim tomorrow as the pools are all closed, so hope everyone has a fantastic and safe Xmas!

2000m ocean swim with a friend this morning. Usually I swim with a large group and felt quite nervous only two of us - less menu options for any sharks!!

Pool opened after 3 day Christmas break to immediately close with a chemical dispenser problem - you could smell the chlorine in the lobby so I am guessing no pool tomorrow until they do a partial flush and refill to lighten the chlorine %. On the bright side it will be well sanitized.

    Surprise - Surprise.
1350m The Pool opened at noon today so I managed to get in a 60 length set.
Started out all alone in the fast lane since the other lanes were already crowded. Then 3 more showed up so it made for some challenges.

    100m Pull
    50m Kick
    750m Free
    250m Back
    100m Breast
100m Kick - I hate kick - which is why I must do it.

Need to get some paddles as all the ones they have in the public equipment are sized for children and youths. Way to small for adults.

I swam almost immediately after a light dinner. 15 min of free and back. Really tried to focus on streamlining--I wish I could see myself so I could tell if I succeeded. A 9 year old kid was swimming laps in the lane next to me, not very well but with a lot of heart. I "raced" a few lengths with him, making sure he finished ahead of me.
At quitting time, he got out. I swam a relaxed 25 back to my water bottle and showered.

    4 miles today.
I have been trying to be a little more moderate with my distance now that I am home.
    Alternating 4 miles (7050yds) and 5000yd days.

Hi everyone, longtime runner, currently injured, finally getting the push I need to get into the pool. Although a water baby, swimming lengths has never been my thing but years ago I said the same about running. It’s New Year’s day today so I headed to the pool to start the year right and clocked up just over a kilometre and am happy with this. My aim is to get my swim fitness up a bit, then have a few lessons to improve my technique.

Tech questions - I have a Garmin but when it asked me to enter the pool length, the correct distance wasn’t an option - the pool’s 66 metres, a random and very long length. I settled for 50m so my total distance was recorded as 800m when actually I swam 1056m, and it also screwed with my interval times. Is there a way to add a custom distance?

You should be able to select a custom length. I can with my Fenix 5X.

Yes, thanks. I sat down on the couch with it last night and managed to work it out - it was impossible to do in the pool which is so deep I have to tread water if not holding on to the bar, plus goggles.

4 miles today and New Years Eve day.
The kicker? The closeness of the total swim time.
Despite changing the order of my drill sets, Mondays' time was 2:12:14, today's was 2:12:35. :D
