My pool. May be a few extra days of closure. :s

They haven't quite finished = no water in the pool. They need 2 days to fill and 3 days for " heating ". I would love to hit the cool water as I get a better swim in cold water.

Oh @juliet3455 darn... That doesn't look promising.

40 minutes today. Pretty crappy swim. I just couldn't keep my body flat. The big change is that in spite of this, I really enjoyed it. Just kept swimming ;)

2000m solo after a horrible day. One of the young people I support in my role has secondary cancer and I spent 5.5 hours in ED with her today. Today was the first time I've seen her looking terminally ill and it's awful.

    500 swim
    500 kick
    16x 25 max as 4 fly 4 back 4 br 4 free with 15s rest
    300 kick
    300 warmdown

41km for the month in the pool plus 41 km running.

Nine days out from the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games and I have a house full of sick kids which means it's odds on that I'm going to get sick too. Aaarrrggghhhhhhh!

Sorry to hear about your young friend @emmab0902 -- it seems so much harder when they are young.

On the up side, I believe that regular pool sessions is the reason I have been getting sick less often. Allergies bother me less as well. I think it's the regular rinsing my sinuses are getting...

Wow @emmab0902 sounds like you are going through a lot lately! It is a wonder you still manage to find time to swim!

Had my first swim in about 10 days, I just got back from taking my eldest to her first day at University in the UK. I only swam for about half an hour, just to get familiar with the water again, I was sluggish and not feeling it, but at least I did it. Eventhough I didn't really enjoy it I am glad I did it on my own rather than struggle through Masters practice tomorrow night. That would be demoralizing. So I agree that the only bad swim is the one you don't do.

juliet355, that sure is a bummer! Hang in there! Are there no other options near you?

@aliciamariaq The unfortunate part of a small community is that there is only one pool.
The 2 closest communities ( 1 hr drive ) have outdoor pools and they are already Drained and closed for the season.
The next 2 communities ( 1.5 hr drive ) share the Maintenance Shutdown Speciality Crews with my community to reduce costs so they are also closed.
Now it would be a 2.5 hr Drive to the next community - College Pool - and they don't have any Public Swim times in September due to Swim Lessons/Training for new Students/Swim Team.
3 hr Drive to a pool, Only if I am going to be doing something else in the community.

The irony is that I was in the ( 3hr ) community twice for work last week but 12 hour days were just to much.

    2900m of suffering with masters

    4x 200 free with 30s rest

    8x 100 with 20s rest as 4 free and 4 back

    4x 50 fly with 20s rest

    16x 50 as 8 br/back 8 back/free with 20s rest

    300 warmdown

The 200s 100s and fly were done with fins but that didn't help as everything had to be done at least 80% effort pace.

Don't think I've ever puffed so much lol.

BRRRRRRR! It's always amazing to me how the difference between a 78 degree F pool and a 75 degree F pool feels like the difference between summer and winter!

Motivated me to keep my butt in gear, though! 1.5/ 54 laps in 70 minutes--about 2 minutes faster than my usual time!

Adult Swim Club yesterday. First session and the Instructor was kind to us as she only had 1600m on the board.
    200m Warm-up
    100m Kick
    4 x 50m Kick on side - alt side on 25
    4 x 50m Superman kick - alt 25
    4 x 50m 1 Arm crawl - alt 25
    4 x 50m Finger Drag
    Front Crawl Ladder
    4 x 25 @ 40
    2 x 50 @ 60
    1 x 100 @ 90
    2 x 50 @ 60
    4 x 25 @ 40
    3 x 60 Strokes - Maximum Distance - Minimum Time. My Avg 1:12 68m
200m of cool down stretch choice swim. Mixture of Back/Breast.

I remember 2 years ago when 1600m seemed impossible in a 60 minute session.
Now we do it and have instructional breaks. The ultimate sign of improvement.
My Bi-lateral breathing has come along way in the last year - still falls apart near the end of a hard session.

@fishgutzy Amazing distance. How long do you spend in the pool when knocking off that distance. I am limited to 60 min sessions due to the pool schedule.

@rosebarnalice I love the cold water, I normally overheat in our pool as they keep it at a Senior Friendly Temperature. I am sure that in 20 years I will appreciate the warm temperatures - now not so much.

@emmab0902 Protect that shoulder - Wishing you fun/success on the Sunshine Coast at the Games.

@juliet3455 just under 3 hours to do 180 laps. Had the lane to myself most of the time. Week long holiday here in China. Do not do crowded.

Temperature back up to normal, but I got in a few minutes late, so didn't QUITe make my 54 laps. Got in 51, though.
