In the pool 4 times this week. 2 Adult Swim Club and 2 Lane sessions.
Did stuff - didn't record it at the time so rather jumbled.

Adult swim club last session was Kickopoulus - 100m in warmup followed by 600m in the main session mixed in with a few 100m crawl sets to work the kick into the crawl. Then a 1000m pyramid odd multiples were all crawl - even multiples were Bk or Br. ie 2Fc, 50 Br, 75Fc, 100Bk etc. Well wooped after that

6.6km last night. Had one day 2.2km set because I was "racing" some young swimmers. Place for the set was 2:02/100M. Not competitive. But fast for me.

2.2km swim before work today. 6.6km planned for after work.

1600m today. Was midway through a backstroke set when I felt (and heard) a loud click in my elbow, and that was the end of my backstroke. Not ideal when I start the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games tomorrow. Hoping it's not my fraying bicep tendon about to finally pop!!! :fearful:

    400 warmup as 100fr/100br/100bk/100fr

    4 x 50 fr swim at about 80% on 1.15

    3 x 20m max/30m ezi bk on 1.15
    3 x 20m max/30m ezi fr on 1.15
    3 x 20m max/30m ezi br on 1.15

    550 warmdown

2.2km morning swim. 6.6km coming after work.
Looked at Garmin Connect and discovered that I set a new total distance record for the month of October. 104 miles.
I also realized that there were two periods early in the year when I couldn't swim in China. Bummer. That throws off my 12 month total.

Emma, WOW! Congratulations on the medals! How's your elbow holding up?
Gutzy, that's a helluva distance for ONE MONTH. Holy smokes. I get excited when I get a 2-mile day in and can boost my week...

All of your collective swims have kept me going all these years. I told my husband this week that I finally feel like a proper swimmer. For a long time, there were some psychological barriers that I had to get through each and every day I went to swim: not feeling like going because I'm not a good swimmer, so it's a lot of energy to try to get better, how many people are already in the lane when I arrive, how fast are they, can I fit in if we have to circle, what if I have to circle and I'm not even warmed up yet (then I'm slower), can I get through my entire plan, or will I peter out...???

Now, I just go. Head straight to the locker room (don't even check so see how crowded the lanes are because I can confidently jump in and get started), and now I wonder if I'll do just my planned workout, or will it feel good enough to keep going and get some extra laps in

Really folks, coming here has been a huge part of my staying committed and continuing to try to improve. I'm headed into this winter in a totally different "swim mindset" than I have ever been. In my entire life. I'm a proper swimmer!

    13.2km swim today.
    Pacing was okay.
First 3 sets were 3300M each.
Second set was exactly 1 minute longer than the first.
The 3rd set was 0.4 seconds longer than the 1st.
Last 2 sets were 1760 and 1540 meters.
Final average pace was 2:12/100M. Same pace as there last time I did 13.2km.

I have been really bad at logging and checking in. First session of Adult Swim Club finished and we had a week off as they had Local School Swim Meets in the evening. Back in the water tonight with a differant instructor/coach and she worked us pretty hard. 2500m

75m Swim, Drill & kick as warm up.

    Scull :( 50m each
    Front - Head first
    Front - Feet first
    Back - Head first
    Back - Feet first

    4 x 50m Fr @ 15sri
    4 x 50m Br @ 15sri
    4 x 50m Bk @ 15sri
4 x 50m Choice - Suggested Fly for those capable. I did Back since it is my weakest stroke

    Pyramid Fr @ 10sri
    25, 50, 75,100, 125,150,125,100,75,50,25

    200 easy cool down

Informed us that due to Schools Scheduling the pool in December there would be no Adult swim Club so it will have to be self motivated/scheduled. I sort of expected it as they did a week last year and the schools liked it and students wanted more.
