I did swim. 45 minutes. Slowly. Worked with the board to keep my bum and feet up (getting better!) and breathing drills from GoSwim and suggestions from here.0

Great! Yep this forum has been a great help to me too!0 -
Thanks, AQ - I wouldn't say I'm sick, it's just something I have to do monthly & this week is it.....0

Turning down the stroke rate as I learn/implement high elbow catch, then hopefully can turn it back up again in a few weeks!
Very unnatural for me, keeping my elbows up!0 -

Georgina, it's great that you're swimming with your daughter. I coach both of my kids in a summer rec league, & there are times one or the other will swim with me at other times....

You really are building up the stamina
Great!0 -
Thank you. That's more or less the goal. I'm eyeing some marathon swims at some point, but I've got years of training before that becomes anything other than suicidally stupid.0

AQ - I need to respectfully request at least another week, all those work days that have been getting put off look like they're coming into play now. Great job dropping the 5km time another 5 minutes. Efficiency definitely is making a difference....
Donna - great job, you've been doing a lot of varied exercises but I'm glad to see swimming comes into play often
Noel - if you keep adding distance consistently you'll be very surprised how quickly your endurance will build. I'm betting you'll be ready to do those swims sooner than you think...

Haven't got a clue how far we all swam this morning - too buy swimming hard to stay warm, chatting while treading water around the buoys and seeing how long we could hold a duck dive with feet pointing upward! Battery Rocks Bay, Cornwall, UK. 45 minutes in a November sea!0

Awe, I tell you, I am in awe of these swims, @yogicarl!0

Not my most brilliant or speediest swim. I hadda share a lane and the pool was taken over by the Masters team who decided to come in early this morning and swim 75 x 100. The lifeguard was joking they were insane. Given the swims I WANT to do, all I could do is say a little sadly, "Naw, that's just good training." while thinking that I wish I were already capable of doing that. I'll get there. I'm just impatient...0
